kenny987: And there u go laying irregularities solely at the feet of the PDP! As far as I am concerned both parties were equally complicit! My take is let the tribunal do its job fairly. If there is a nullification then the APC, being in charge of the FG and security personnel should not attempt to harass or intimidate citizens. Let them make their choices.
I just get irritated at Lagos elections because it is an APC state by all standards and Ambode was already slated to win yet a whole Oba had d immaturity and crassness to attack a particular group because he had an anointed candidate! When did electoral choice become a crime? Anyway, that one is subject for another discourse. so if both parties were involved, why is the pdp issuing threats of war if the tribunal doesn't go their way? and as for the lagos elections, was their war and bloodshed during the elections like it happened in rivers to buttress your point? |

kenny987: It starts from somewhere...could just be anywhere. APC should know that they did not have much on ground to sway such PDP strongholds like Rivers State. The best cause of action would have been to chill, develop their structures more in those areas they had the most defeat, showcase why they are a better option and then consolidate victory at the polls in 2019. It still is a matter of the choice of people and u know as well as I do that Nigerians are a mostly sentimental lot. All it takes is a conviction that a certain person or group is a collective enemy. They (APC) should not be expecting to clear it all in one fell swoop.
I just hope the tribunal is allowed to carry out its duties unfettered. the question I keep asking is if rivers and akwa-ibom were really pdp strongholds as you are insinuating, why do we have all the irregularities there during the elections? My take is this if the rivers and akwaibom elections were very peaceful like we had in other states, the pdp would have won but by a small margin like the way apc won pdp in lagos by a small margin but the level of immaturity and impunity from the pdp became the problem, which they may likely to pay for it now and no matter of threats can hinder true justice. The high level of political intolerance in the ss and se regions would continue to a problem until they grow up. |

2n2k: I agree with MizMyColi in her line of argument. It was Punch that observed the missing portrait and tried to verify from Metuh. When Metuh challenged the Punch to find out from APC whether GEJ portrait was hanged by APC, the Punch should have specifically and explicitly asked Lai about that. Instead, it only went to report its findings in PDP secretariat to Lai.
Hanging of the portrait of the high officers of the state is just a convention not backed by law. Courts in Nigeria even Supreme Court stopped hanging the President's portraits in the courtrooms since 1988 under IBB regime when Gani and Falana challenged the practice saying they would not get justice against IBB with his portrait starring down at the judge.
Between 1979 and 1999, Ahmadu Bello University refused to include the portrait of Obasanjo (as military head of state) among the portraits of former heads of state in its Senate building. Heaven did not fall. The issue here is metuh should have ignored the reporter and not tell a widely read national newspaper that someone's picture is not on their wall, that was childish as all the ABU and courts you mentioned have not told any journalist that they don't hang any one's picture on their wall who gives a damn on what is in pdp's bedroom. |

before it was islamic agenda, then later someone said apc is using witchcraft, since all those strategy is not working, now we are being reminded that Nigeria is on satanic foundation all because some people lost at the polls.
When they were enjoying Nigeria's money, they never told us that we were on a satanic foundation, in fact they reminded us that God is a Nigerian but since they are no longer in power Nigeria is now satanic.
God will punish them and their future generations with thunder, fire and they will all die miserably in Jesus name and I SAY A VERY BIG AMEN.

WombRaiders: Fool. Why were you fools celebrating your Furhrer's invitation to the White House and G7?
When the US govt speaks on US interests in a region do you think they are talking about democracy?
You better come to the realization that the White House is the marketing and PR office of Corporate America.
Your APC signed a pact with the devil in return for it's support.
This is only the Begining of the end.
Your Buhari will appoint retired ab0ki military men from the 70's and 80's to man sensitive ministries.
Your boko president has already penciled down 14 ministries for outright scrapping . Note scrapping and not merging. This means employees of these ministries will soon loose their jobs.
It doesn't stop there as this administration will soon begin massive retrenchment in the civil service as part of cost cutting measures.
After he is through with the civil service, watch this administration devalue the naira further in order to open our economy to foriegn western banks to buy it up at a cheap rate.
These are all conditions he agreed to with the west in exchange of their support.
Buhari is the poster child for a revamped neo- colonialism in the 21st century. my guy you come across someone so intelligent and I was actually enjoying your analysis until you started throwing tantrums on PMB and making us believe that GEJ was steering the economy very well with all the subsidy scam palaver. Please elections have come and gone and a winner has been declared whether you like it or not. Your display of bitterness about PMB will not make heaven fall and you can't force your opinions on anyone. The way you guys even rush to nairaland to rain all sorts of abuse and insults on the present Govt whenever there is a negative economic data shows you guys are yet to recover from your loss at the polls, no wonder we have to be told that Buhari's picture is not even in pdp's bedroom. You are not also a prophet to tell us that Nigeria is doomed economically, so many have said so in the time past, its not a new thing at all, we know where we were before May 29 and we remembered very well what NOI told us we will face economically in few years time so save us of all your economic jargons, we are not moved and can't be threatened just because your slave master is no longer in power. |

Brugo: Simple truth. He will remain President till 2019. The bitterness of PDP supporters is unhealthy. Sometimes I feel pity for them.
PDP needs to stop this kindergarten pettiness and grow into a proper opposition. They should quit playing the victim already. Pdp see themselves as victims so don't expect them to behave otherwise, they are the ones who believe they are witches, that's they are witch-hunted, they are the ones who believe they are marginalized, they are the ones who believe that they are not being given appointments, they are the ones who believe Nigeria is a zoo so they want to form their country. They are the ones telling the whole world that they are victims, they even told us that we did not hang their picture on our wall so they won't hang our own too. No be victim be that lol |

APC never cared to hang Jona's PDP shouldn't either.
This is a clear case of giving folks a taste of their own medicine.
Why is APC bothered and using Punch to front? Nobody is bothered but you o, a lot of us can even offer our pictures for pdp to hang in their secretariat if they have none. Pdp are the ones bothering us that they don't have someone's picture in their bedroom. |
Politics › Re: We’ll Never Hang Buhari’s Portrait In Our Offices –PDP by Goke7: 8:28am On Sep 09, 2015 |
MizMyColi: No, you and your pained APC chieftain who sponsored the investigative report by punch need to grow up and stop being the ruling opposition party.
Punch went to PDP secretariat. PDP did not go to Punch. PDP did not call a press conference to announce such either.
From their findings, they called Metuh to ask why? What did you expect him to say?
Why didn't punch also carry out this investigation on APC secretariat when Jona was in power?
You lot must think us all Fools. Metuh missed an opportunity to boost pdp's image there, he continues to make things worse for the pdp, just watch and see how he will try and do damage control later. Silence at times is Golden, he would have stylishly ignored the reporter or give a better excuse but the bitterness in him will not allow. |

Pdp is only trying to incite the Public against Buhari which is their main mission as a so called opposition party. Their bitterness of loosing the elections on March 28 will continue even after Buhari's tenure.
I understand metuh' frustration especially seeing obj who tore their membership card in public going in and out of aso rock as he wishes, now that can make an average pdp politician to even commit suicide unless he decamps to another party.
To all the tanoids and wailers, i can now see why you guys hate Buhari so much, metuh has justified you guys. |

I have always told some guys that the economy of Nigeria is a very big lie, all the goods and services we buy daily are over priced, nobody i repeat nobody knows the true value of our economy, our so called economy have been revolving round corruption. like someone has earlier said, there is no creativity, all our banks have been feeding fat from money laundering, we import everything, we do not encourage production in any way, even if any one wants to produce, successive Governments over the years bring out policies to kill production and do not improve infrastructure. What we have are shopping malls and event centers springing out everywhere, is that an economy?
We Nigerians have ourselves to blame, we celebrate leaders who steal our common wealth which would have been used to stimulate production in our country, we have not been putting much pressure on our Governments over the years to diversify the economy, instead we allow them divide us along ethnic and religious lines, we should all be ashamed of ourselves, do we even know how much we truly realize from our crude oil daily?
Its reality check for us as Nigeria, everyone need to sit up and start producing, if the environment is not conducive, let's put pressure on Government to make it conducive for us instead of arguing over irrelevant things. God bless Nigeria. |

mapet: Unfortunately you read the report way out of context wrt bolded. There was nowhere in that report that he said they should use his previous asset declaration. Rather he alluded to the fact that his precedents speaks for him, that in all his past offices he'd always declared his assets - something the press should have known by now. So if he has a record of having declared his asset in all his previous occupation of office, now will not be different.
What do you mean declare his asset properly? I believe it is the duty of the organs of government, case in point CCB, to raise exception to his declaration and journalist or investigators to find loopholes. Are there any you have veritable facts to justify? you are only wasting your time trying to educate those dullards, no explanation will satisfy them |

Akainzo: With this I can conclude that you are a person taking away by headlines and not able to read details and comprehend ACTUAL information.
One, that was a proposal from a House of rep member in 2010. Nothing says that motion was passed by the HOR, or that the Senate also passed the same motion for it to be able to take effect.
Two, the salary and emoluments of ex-Presidents are fixed by the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Allocation Commission (RMFAC) and not the National Assembly.
I will advice that you improve yourself, read widely, comprehend deeply and employ logical reasoning to ensure you decipher the connections between things. Sir, its like you did not read my reply to your earlier post or you don't want to follow my humble advise, the fellows you are trying to educate are bitter fellows who are still reeling in pain of loosing the elections of march 28, even if PMB tars our roads with Gold, they will continue to attack this Govt cause their mission is to provoke the military part of PMB to begin order security personnel to attack the public so that they can tell the whole world how wicked PMB is and cause a civil war, you think the Biafra madness online is for nothing? To the other wailings, it seems you have not imbibed that fact that things are changing in Nigeria, the PMB government is trying to correct those anomalies that you have come to take as normal. Ensure people declare assets when they assume office as well as when they leave office. Should he now leave office and not declare, the incoming government has a duty to probe and possibly jail him as required by law.
And for your education, I am happy to be jailed should I break the law! It is the expectation that the law will take its course always that makes a sane and progressive society. Pls let's not waste time educating these dumb folks, can't you see they are only trying to incite Nigerians against PMB, imagine asking for declaration before election, this tells you their mind set.
