The appointment of Finidi George was a big error 😠 and shows high level of corruption in the glass house . What parameters were used to choose him ?
Finidi was assistant to JP, there was nothing wrong in making him coach, even keshi was once an assistant too. Much was expected from Finidi in terms of continuity and building upon what JP left. He’s a certified coach so what else in terms of parameters, did Finidi not see it all in Afcon where we got to the final?

My problem with Tunisia is that when they qualify ,they struggle to win a single match at the world cup.
Tunisia hardly have a stand out player cos at the World Cup that’s where you need your star player to win you games.

Then we can say Bassey was right to scold Nwabali. They need to communicate on the pitch and point out to any player playing no.nsens3.

I also agree with him on benching Ekong for the next game.

He made many points but that one qey him say he believes Nigerians should be coaching the team...mbanu. I no gree Dat one. Except if the Nigerian coach is doing well in a foreign club.
Don’t mind him as if na Nigerians coach them as players to reach the level they got to. Very selfish and unserious people.

in the last 5-6-7-8yrs any african team we beat suddenly become our enemy on social media and they start to heavily beef us and wish for the our downfall
SA
Ghana
Cameroon
Zambia
CIV(started during afcon group stage)
Morocco(wafcon effect)
Bfaso(playoff saga)
Lesotho
Zimbabwe
Angola(during afcon)
even tiny Benin don dey dey wish us bad…

But i observe if these teams face each other and beat themselves they dont hold that grudge/beef for long…like this now eehn all of them just gang up now dey hate anything Nigeria all over social media….wetin dey sup na….
Anyways i will blame super eagles generation from 2015 till date that has given most of these teams a head lifter that we are beatable hence whenever we beat them it pains them like we are not suppose to beat them…
We Nigerians are the problem castigating our nation so badly on social media and singing more praises of other countries who can’t lace our boots so the world out there thinks we are a finished country with scammers and bad governance in terms of leadership in short they think we are like Somalia or any war torn nation so when they see us do well in sports they are kind of shocked and wonder where the magic is from. See that Benin guy cursing osihmen as he can’t believe that after we struggled to beat Lesotho we came out to hammer his country 4-0.

We too need to stop overrating these countries over Nigeria and give the impression they are better when indeed they are not. Even Ghana in recent times has not done better than Nigeria a country who last won Afcon in 1980 or so. I even see some people here hyping South Africa and tomorrow if we hammer them then the hating will start again. Even CIV despite winning us in Afcon are not head and shoulders over us. Only Senegal and Egypt(which we can still beat) I can say are ahead. A country producing two APOTYs in a row is still a powerhouse even if the team flounders at times.

I think Nigeria has this pull and it's become attractive to identify with Nigeria these days so I'm not really surprised.

Of course, playing for Nigeria na another thing entirely.
If we Nigerians can reduce the way we disgrace ourselves out there, especially on social media, more will come out to identify with us. Our sportsmen and entertainers are giving us a great boost to our image and reputation out there. Gone are the days when Nigerians in the diaspora claim to be Caribbean to avoid identifying as Nigerians. It's a new day for us on the global stage!

Oga club soccer is different from international duty. Since that hat trick what has he done that’s exemplary. Lookman is not indispensable but Osimhen is.
Don't just go there. Lookman has been the star of his club, even after his Europa heroics, right up until he started having issues with his coach and the transfer saga, which has led to the psychological downturn currently affecting his form. The same happened to Osihmen until he found joy again in Turkey. We also know all sorts that were said about Osihmen right on this thread when he was going through all his travails.

If Osihmen's goals dry up again, so we will go back to what we are trying to do with Ademola now, abi. Nigerians na wa for una. Fair weather people!

This CAF playoff is going to be brutal.

Right now, and based on form, either Gabon or DR Congo are our biggest threats in this CAF playoff. Especially DR Congo. Those guys are ferocious and physical. Their star player Yaone Wissa is also very clinical in the final third. However, one good thing about our recent squad is that even on our worst days, other teams still struggle to beat us.

It also helps that for the past couple of games, we have scored at least 1 goal per game. I can't remember the last time we didn't score in a game.

If we lose to any of these two teams (Gabon/DRC), it would probably be through penalties or a single goal difference after a hard fought battle.

We need to lock in and go to war in these next few games.

Cameroon have poor form and structure presently, but when it comes to individual talents in their squad, I think they are the only team that can match us to a certain extent. Thankfully, they suffer from the same casual and lethargic performance our players put up occasionally as well. I'd argue they're even worse than us in that regard. If they come into the playoffs with the same energy they used to play in their group against Cape Verde, Mauritania et al, we'll beat them handsomely for the third time in a row. But if they come with a change of heart: prepared, focused and bloodlusted, they are the most likely to defeat us in this playoffs, or at least, give us a good run for our money.

I'm calling it now, if we can secure the CAF ticket, we're going to the World Cup. 100%.
When Cameroon faces us just like Ghana they become more charged. It’s gonna be a rivalry clash, forget all those lethargic stuff, they gonna die on that pitch once they see the GWG

For me bring in LOOKMAN as a sub

And no matter what some of you say we need MOSES in that team, you all may not like him but what he brings to the team can only be seen by those who understand football. Ask yourself why he keeps starting games all these while even under different Nigerian coaches

I think NDIDI should start as well to give the defense a boost

If AJAYI can somehow sneak into starting line up, I won't have an issue with that, due is paying his dues gradually.

And OSIMHEN need a supporting striker so he does not over work himself upfront, remember there are 2 games to be played in Morocco. Make the Bobo sef reserve small fuel. He don too try
Ajayi on a second yellow is suspended for our next match I hope our administrators are aware o

we really underrated and came unprepared against teams like Lesotho,Zimbabwe and Benin at the start of the qualifiers…now we dare not underrate Drc,Gabon and Cameroon…
Nigeria and Cameroon were the sleeping giant of the group stage, Allowing teams Like SA and Capeverde top the group to qualify….DRC and Gabon is understandable, cos they had Senegal and CIV to contend with respectively….so it wasnt gonna b easy for them….i see both giant Nigeria and Cameroon waking up form to dispatch those teams to reach the final…
Nigeria vs Cameroon will be cr@zy….they will be very stubborn this time around

Hehe... things can still get alot worse.

After the 10yr limit is implemented and people don't feel their lives are better, houses don't get cheaper, wages don't shoot up, there is still road traffic or NHS still has problems, then folks would turn around and still blame new migrants for their woes narrating how migrants of 2020-2025 were true contributors. 15yrs perhaps or a complete stop to citizenship by naturalisation might be be the next call. Afterall, Saudi Arabia does xyz.

The main thing that'd stop this rally would be if it's shown to affect the economy
The chap who during the riots blamed me for not being able to buy a house/car has still not done so since I left but has however moved on to the next migrant as the reason for their woe.

The buzz word today is 'uncontrolled migration'. Even in countries like Australia with minimal undocumented arrivals, the media is chorusing the same. The interesting thing with some of these countries is that their rate of population growth today is less than historical standards. The only thing is that those coming in now are brown.
That’s the problem it’s all rooted in racism just hiding behind the buzz word uncontrolled immigration.

One game at a time Gabon with Aubameyang in his current form is a source of concern and worries. Let’s face Gabon and defeat them first before thinking of Cameroon who may not even beat DR Congo . Nigerians been too carried away easily occasionally
If we can’t beat Gabon and the other teams then we truly have no business at the World Cup! Honestly the African version of the play offs is a true test for the Eagles for us to know how serious they are and a very good prep for the Afcon.

I think we actually have a reasonable amount of good midfielders. The thing with Chelle is he's kind of underutilizing them. For example, Iwobi should be playing closer to the box as AM not CM.

Onyedika, Uche, Onyeka with Ndidi these guys are good CMs and DMs, even Fredericks is a potential DM with his ball playing and calmness.

Iwobi and Chuks should be strictly our AMs while being deployed as LW and RW in ceetain occasions respectively. These two guys have one thing in common: they possess serious defense splitting passes that Osimhen needs and they love doing so.
Some of what you have said has been repeated uncountable times here on this thread and it’s not that currently Iwobi and others role are that static but I don’t think these crop of midfielders can deliver the goods we all desire. I have come to the conclusion that the midfield for this generation of players is just our weakness and hoping we compensate for the stronger attackers and defenders we have.

This is not a bashing bro. Chukwueze might not have played if Lookman was available, and that might have cost us the necessary four goals. Lookman holds onto the ball for too long on many occasions. Chukweieze's selflessness and timely passing was crucial in that game.

Even Osimhen who is the main poacher is naturally inselfish.
Let’s hope Lookman make the necessary adjustments going forward. We can’t just be angry with too many players now cos just one injury to one and you risk going back again to the same player you think he’s not doing enough. It’s a good thing to have a plethora of options than be limited. I like the options we have in attack but hey we can’t say same for our midfield.

I think God wants us to qualify but learn a lesson first. That Lookman's selfishness and overdoing is one of the major reasons we've not been scoring goals. Guy is good no doubt, but he selfish make we talk true.

If he played that match I don't think we would have scored as many goals. His absense was a blessing in disguise. Though he's still the best partner for Osimhen upfront

Chelle really needs to talk to him.
Let’s be easy on Lookman every game is different. On a good day he’s a game changer perhaps the issues at his club has taken its toll on him.

Chelle is not that coach.. i know a lot of people will crucify me for this but he is not that coach. Yes he tried to get us out of the shii we were and he did his best.
But He is not technically sound

A coach who couldnt spot that lookman is match rusty wouldnt know what to do with a player like uche, so im not suprised. Right from the first match lookman played for us during his issues with his club i saw he was out of form and needed to rest. But nope caoch was only using APOTY to keep playing him.
Meanwhile chukwueze who he experimented Vs Jamaica showed signeds but he kept benching him.
If not for lookman double yellow card we wont be here with WC hope today

FATE& LUCK saved chelle Not his technical ability.
@the bolded, this is true. That flash chuks showed against Jamaica was a free expo but don’t know why the coach didn’t utilise that going forward after that tournament

BTW I read a report last month about how Xi is increasingly becoming wary and paranoid of the returnees from esp the UK and the USA....

That some of them (well many of them) have been recruited as spies and they are very paranoid about hiring them in key positions

It got me thinking of Nigeria
And how many people in key positions are alresfy recruited by foreign powers and Nigeria doesnt know

Or who knows ?
Nigerian govt may have covertly sent some of us who jaapa undercover to become spies here on behalf of the Nigerian govt

It's really a maze that I keep trying to reason out
like they say in Naija now, 'we all know what we are doing' Let's the spying continue!

I agree with all your submissions earlier, it's all distractions from the main issues begging for attention, but continue to be ignored

Boniface body language is not needed in this team. He's too laid back, too unserious. This is a problem we are dealing with in the team as a whole.
I think Boniface lost his place by not being in Afcon. Sometimes, when you miss an opportunity, you lose out completely. Some players cemented their place in the team with Afcon. Even Ndidi still dey struggle after missing Afcon too. For Awoniyi, he may just have lost his place totally, except for a miracle happening.

Life can be unfair, and that's the reality. For some players, they need just one match to sneak in, and no one will offer them more opportunities if they don't play well in just one match; other players will have several opportunities before they can finally cement their place. Just imagine if Benjamin Frderick did not play well in the chance he had in the Gold Cup earlier this year, I doubt he would be given more opportunities to prove himself. Adams may just have cemented his place by just that goal against Lesotho. mhen life can be cruel!
