Exclusive – Agent Confirms Liverpool Interest In Signing Prolific Nigerian Forward Henry Onyekuru

https://owngoalnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/image-144-1024x674.jpg

English Premier League giants Liverpool have joined the likes of Fenerbache, Celtic, CSKA Moscow, RB Leipzig and Hoffeinheim in registering their interest in signing Henry Onyekuru.

Onyekuru has taken the Belgian league by storm with 10 goals to his name for newly promoted Eupen in the first stanza of the league, which has made him the beautiful bride of most European teams.

Scottish giants Celtic reportedly failed with a bid to sign him few days ago according to various reports in Belgium.

However an intermediary who sounded out Fenerbahce interest to the representative of the 19 year old forward says Liverpool have also the hunt for him.

”His agent told me about Liverpool’s interest yesterday when I tried to re- ignite Fenerbahce’s interest in his services. I don’t how long Eupen can hold on to him, he is a very good player.

”He (Onyekuru) will most likely leave Eupen before the end of this transfer window despite their hard stance. They could be forced to cash in on him”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.

I take it with a pinch of salt whatever this website says with respect to player transfers.
It's very obvious this site is a tool for agents to market their players nothing more.

TOP FIVE TEAMS IN AFRICA.

I was discussing with a friend a while ago and he said this AFCON is boring - A view I countered anyway but that is not what this write up is all about.

He further said this AFCON has also pointed out that Africa does not deserve the additional slots being award for the future expanded world cup, which I also countered. I told him that African Power houses are almost at par. That the additional countries from Africa would not in anyway diminish the standard because of the parity I earlier mentioned.

I gave him a simple test by listing the top 10 African footballing nations presently. And that irrespective of FIFA ranking, based on his understanding of the game in Africa, he should chose the best 5 footballing nations based on current form.

I tell you, after picking his first 2 he became confused and started analyzing who the other 3 should be.

See the list of top 10 African teams I gave him in no particular order:

Nigeria
Ghana
Cameroun
Ivory Coast
Senegal
Algeria
Egypt
Tunisia
Morocco
DR Congo

I want to throw it open to the house, forget about FIFA ranking. Using your knowledge of African football and knowing the capabilities of these individual nations can u list the best 5 teams presently in Africa? If you don't agree with my top 10 you can also list yours.

cc: All parliamentarians here.
It's a nice list you put together. But if you put Nigeria in a top 10 list then South Africa deserves a shout too.
The south Africans have been enterprising and steadfast in their football development more than many countries in the world not to talk of Africa.
They have been getting their rewards recently as exemplified by Sundowns winning the champions league.

In the world cup qualifier they have played against 2 teams in your list(Burkina Faso and Senegal) and have not lost a game.

I think Senegal are slightly being overhyped. In my opinion, the 2002 team pisses all over this team. There is just something about this team that am yet to be convinced about.

My top ten African teams are;
Ghana (1)
South Africa (2)
Nigeria (3)
Egypt (4)
Senegal (5)
Tunisa (6)
Algeria(7)
Congo (cool
Cameroun(9)
Mali (10)

Finally, I think African countries should reach out to some of their foreign born players.
In my opinion, teams like Cameroun will be better with a player like Mbappe, Tunisa would present a better team if Ben Yedder was playing for them. Algeria will do a lot better with Nabil Fekir in their team. The list goes on.....

And I've take up a scientific approach to studying the way good Joe talks.

First, when you make a statement of fact after he must have tried to argue it, he simply doesn't refer to it again. E.g

You: Bojan flopped under pep

Joe: Boljan never flopped under pep he didn't have playing time.

You: What are you saying? ( state the fact of Bojan and post)

Joe: ( diverts from the truth you just stated and move over with style to another player.
Ghana is not a bad choice. They are among a cluster of 4 teams who I think from the winner will emerge.

I know all TheGoodJoe hanki panki style of argument.

Be laughing. Do not learn?
grin grin

At City, Guardiola wants all the players asleep before ten pm. He believes a long sleep is the best way to refresh the body after the strenuous training Guardiola puts the team through.

If a player works as hard Guardiola wants in training and he does not sleep well, he ends up getting injuries and gasses on the field during training and games.

Even your babe must satisfy her urge before ten pm. Ask Nasri.
Fair enough. Why stop at teaching sleeping habits. He should go abit further and teach him how to lace his boots, how to pee, how to comb his hair while at it he should also drill him on how to sneeze properly.

Maybe you should have watched some of those games before talking. Alves has never, will never and can never play in a 3 man backline. Alves is the wingback for Christ sake, whenever Barca switches to a back 3, Alves is always the defender who moves into a midfield position.

In that final in question, Toure started as a defender and that's my point, at the beginning of the season he was the starting CB but Pep started playing him out of position just to accomodate Busquets, at that point Yaya Toure was better than Busquets hands down, if you were a barca fan by then you'd know that it was a general consensus.

PS: please do not say it outside that Alves can play in a back 3, people will just think that you do not watch football
You're right on the money. Dani Alves playing as a centre back in back 3? When I thought I've seen it all on this thread.

Super Eagles Rising Star Iwobi Named Among Top 50 U21 Players In The World

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/65646Iwobi.jpg

Alex Iwobi continues to receive accolades on the back of his performances for Arsenal and the Super Eagles.

The latest recognition is coming from Fussball Transfers, who have included the Hale End Academy product on their list of Top 50 Best U21 Players in the World.

The list features the likes of Maxime López (Olympique Marseille), Nathan Aké (Chelsea FC), Niklas Süle (Hoffenheim), Breel Embolo (FC Schalke 04), and Iwobi was ranked 44th.

“Arsenal coach Arsène Wenger is always ready to make a big break for young players. The latest project of the Gunners icon is Alex Iwobi,” FT sad about Iwobi.

“The wing player is an integral part of the Arsenal squad. In the current season Iwobi has played 25 competitive games and is above all physically already on an extremely high level.”

Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho was not included ( 50-31), but it should be noted thatFT has not yet revealed the players ranked 30-1

Cameroun are no pushovers. They have shown resilience and character to come back from a goal deficit from the first half to win the game.
This Cameroun team is very hard to beat. A lot for teams will find that out later in this tournament. It maybe too late when they do .

Technically speaking, I think their left side is their weakest link. If they don't improve on that area, they will have problems. Moses will have lots of joy cutting in from that part of the pitch.

On Egypt, I've said it before the tournament. The Egyptians are presenting a solid unit. Since there is no clear favourite for this Afcon, the Egyptians may snatch it. (if only the "nearly" man Hector Cuper can sort things out if they get to the finals)

I disagree, the AFCON so far has been very competitive. Even the teams that lost played very well.
The facilities in ground gave been world class, unlike what we saw in the past with bumpy pitches in 2013.
The quality of football I've seen have been above average. Even though there have been lots of draws, none gave been boring to watch.
In terms of packaging and all round quality, I rate this tournament better than the 2013 edition we won.
I've enjoyed all the games I've seen so far. It could be boring to people because we are not represented.

Cameroun have been the most impressive this first round.
I think Senegal is overrated. They could have lost their game against Tunisia 6:2 if only the Tunisians managed the hit the target. They opened up Senegal defence at will.
Anyone who didn't watch that game will look at the result and praise Senegal but if you actually watched that game, you will right off this Senegal team.

You can be brilliant at Passing but not at converting them to goals. We can meet Arsenal and dominate them on the field when it comes to holding possession. Guardiola in a short time has passed that philosophy seamlessly to the players. However, we are still far from using the possession to create chances. As we keep working hard, it will comes.

As I said, it is a marathon. What we are doing is not easy. If you think Sunderland can, then you do not understand why most of the top teams have high stats.

Look at the link below.

It clearly shows we are brilliant at passing.
Yes passing out from the back is cool. , but the line between principles and false optimism is blurred.

Rafinha, Robben, Ribery,Manuel Nuerer, Vidal are 30/30+..

Please, before you drag back a point already handled, the EPL is more aggressive with more games than the Bundesliga, so it is possible to have more mature players performing.
How old is Lahm, Alonso, Ribery and Robben?

For starters Alonso is 35,who in Man city is up to that?
Pep spent £150M this summer, running with the excuse that the team is aging after such an investment is very weak.

When we talk of aging, I am shocked you guys are picking a player. I made a list of aging City players. Footie is a team sport, not individual. If most players are aging, it is an aging team.
I remember sometime ago,,, I pointed out that Bayern Munich had an aging team, so I don't expect a squash bucking side, you opposed that line of thought. You claimed Pep brought out the best in the team and Anceloti was nowhere matching that.

Billiat is a great player. I don't think he plays same role as Henry. I see Billiat as little bit of an old school winger in the mould of overmars while Henry is a modern inside forward or wing forward like Martial, Thierry Henry, Mbappe from the little I've seen of him.

Teams who play with a more orthodox wing play system will sign Billant while teams which set up with a 433 formation will go for Henry as one of the wing fowards. That's my candid opinion.
