Pastor Kun: And this is supposed to be a church that is following Christ yet they revel so much in worldly thingzRemember Jesus and that Roman centurion (that guy was a mega VIP)? The Pharisees thought exactly as you just did. They did same to Jesus, you too are. See, BLW is not just a ministry...it is a Nation. Deal with it. I remember those days threads insulting pastors are always on front page and that was only what was en vogue on religion section. Pastor Chris n T B Joshua were the heavy victims. Now look at both Pastors today... They didn't pay attention to you guys...and I remember folks who held hands and prayed prayers for NL religion section, prayed for a turn around, prayed for His light to shine on those folks, prayed that they knw the hope of their callings etc . Oh! I remember prayers I prayed (still pray) for you, and other NLders who I visit their moniker today and its been years the logged in on NL... Some no longer post on religion section...they post on other threads but nt Religion....if you doubt go open those threads others and you championed in insulting pastors and their ministry...open the poster's names who followed you in the insults...you'd see most of them are no longer active. Today NL religion section has a better sanctity. #Gloooray The day God will slap you eh!...but I will not cease praying for you and others...it's my ministry as a priest in Christ, to intercede for y'all 1 Samuel 12:23 (KJV) 23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way. |

2 Corinth 5 AMP 18 But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him]. 19 It was God [size=16pt][personally present][/size] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor). You cannot understand these with your senses...God is a Spirit know him by the spirit...stop trying to reason Him out with your senses else you will fulfil this scripture 1 Corinthians 2:14 Living Bible (TLB) 14 But the man who isn’t a Christian can’t understand and can’t accept these thoughts from God, which the Holy Spirit teaches us. They sound foolish to him because only those who have the Holy Spirit within them can understand what the Holy Spirit means. [size=16pt] Others just can’t take it in. [/size] |

Take Him At His Word! · Saturday, November 23rd · Pastor Anita And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake (Luke 5:5-6). Mark 7 tells the story of a Syrophenician woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit. She cried after the Lord Jesus, imploring Him to heal her daughter, but the Master didn’t respond. She remained persistent, until the disciples were somewhat embarrassed, and besought Jesus to send her away. Jesus then said to her, "...Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs" (Mark 7:27). Undaunted by this response, she replied, "… Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs" (Mark 7:28). The woman had great faith, which the Lord commended saying, "… For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter" (Mark 7:29). I love the way Jesus ministered to that woman. He didn’t talk to the demon; He didn’t say, "Devil, go out of the girl!" Rather, while talking to the woman, He said, "The demon is gone out from your daughter." That was all the woman needed—a Word from the Master—and she took a hold of that word by faith. A similar story is that of a nobleman whose son was dying. He came and talked to Jesus and all the Master said was "Go thy way; thy son liveth…." The Bible says, "…the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way" (John 4:50). That was faith; He took the Master at His Word and went away, expecting a miracle. On his way home, his servants met him and announced to him, "Good news master! The boy is well" (John 4:51). "What time did he begin to get better?" the nobleman asked. The servants replied, "...Yesterday, at the seventh hour..." (John 4:52). The man then realized that the miracle took place at the same time Jesus spoke the words of healing. All you need to come out of any predicament is a Word from God: find out what He has said concerning your situation, and take a hold of His Word, standing your ground in faith. When you exercise faith in the Word, it’ll produce results in you and for you—you’ll surely have a testimony. Prayer Dear heavenly Father, I rejoice today at your Word that’s building my faith strong and influencing my actions. Your Word is my life, and the light that shows me how to walk on the paths of victory, prosperity, and success, from day to day, in Jesus’ Name. Why You Must Pray · Friday, November 22nd · Pastor Chris But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him (Matthew 6:7- ."Since God already knows what’s on our minds, and what we need, why then do we need to pray?" You might want to ask. First, prayer isn’t all about asking God for what you need; rather, and more importantly, prayer is a romance of righteousness: a time to fellowship in the communion of the God-kind. Secondly, there’s a big difference between life in the natural world, and in the Spirit-realm where God lives. Just as physical laws and principles govern life in the physical world, spiritual laws equally govern the spirit- realm. Ezekiel 36:26-36 gives us a better understanding of this. God made several beautiful promises to the Israelites about the wonderful things He’d do for them. However, very strikingly in the thirty-seventh verse, He said, "…I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock." What’s God telling us here? He’s letting us know that we have to work together. Even though He wants to do great things in your life, there has to be a connection of faith; you have to give Him the permission to do what He wants to do in your life. We serve a kind, loving, great and gracious God who daily loads us with benefits (Psalms 68:19). Furthermore, Matthew 18:18 says, "Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." That means "heaven" will give the authority and the go-ahead for whatever you decree on earth. If you say "no!" to sickness, and bind the works of the devil in your family, or in your job, or in your own body, the Holy Spirit will endorse it. You have to take a faith-stand in prayer for things to change. This is your responsibility. Confession I take advantage of the power in the Name of Jesusagainst sickness, lack, failure and defeat; and I declare that I walk in the reality of my Kingdom- Inheritance, basking in the glory of Christ and strengthened by His supernatural might in my inner man. Fellowship— Fruit Of Love · Thursday, November 21st · Pastor Anita God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Corinthians 1:9). There’s no love without fellowship; fellowship is the fruit of love. Abraham was called the "friend of God" (James 2:23) because he enjoyed a close fellowship with the Lord. Now, God has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ, which means you’re called into oneness, partnership, and union with the Lord Jesus. You have to be in constant communication with the Master. Study His Word to hear from Him; listen in your spirit for His voice, for He has said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27). As you fellowship with Him in prayer, His perfect will is unveiled to you; His counsel and guidance for your life are made clear to you. The Holy Spirit is the One that helps you in your fellowship with Jesus, but your heart must be willing. Fellowship is something you do consciously in response to the Master’s love. If you really love Jesus, you should be willing to spend time with Him every day. Remember, He’s the Word made flesh, so you spend time with Him when you spend time studying and meditating on the Word. Your fellowship with the Lord is unique to you. He doesn’t have, has never had, and will never have a copy of you, and that’s why He cherishes your fellowship and love. You’re His partner and friend, in a way no one else in the world can be. Make Jesus your greatest friend, and walk with Him everyday. Your times of personal Bible study, prayer, worship, and praise should be sacred moments; don’t take them lightly. The more you relate with Him through His Word and the Spirit, the more His character and personality are revealed in and through you. Prayer Dear Father, what joy it is to know that I can relate with you in love, and enjoy the fellowship of the God-kind! By the power of the Holy Spirit, I enjoy a deeper and richer fellowship with Jesus every day, and through that fellowship, not only is Christ formed in me, His character is revealed through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. f u r t h e r s t u d y: 1 John 1:3; John 14:23 Daily Scripture Reading 1 Year Reading Plan : James 4:13-5:1-20, Jeremiah 44-47 2 Year Reading Plan : John 13:21-30, 1 Chronicles 21 |

Anyways, enigma hit the brakes, let's just be plain and void of sarcastic verbs and adverbs. |

Nice informative thread. Enigma and truthslight Those were some good history class I have ever enjoined...for God knows how long Where is Chukwudi and Sal C? Italo seems to be shooting his foot...and taking some real beating. I'm not a Church (any denomination) Critic...but let me just say things that puzzle me The Catholic church 'assumes' that Peter was the first Pope and the earthly head of the church, but the Bible never says this once. Popes do not marry, although Peter did (Mat. 8:14; I Cor. 9:5). If he was actually the '1st pope' 'ordained by Jesus' it would be logical to follower his pattern, no? The Bible never speaks of Peter being in Rome, and it was Paul, not Peter, who wrote the epistle to the Romans. Or was Peter a Pope from Asia? In the New Testament, Paul wrote 100 chapters with 2,325 verses, while Peter wrote only 8 chapters with 166 verses. In Peter's first epistle he stated that he was simply "an apostle of Jesus Christ," not a Pope (I Pet. 1:1). Roman Catholics believe that Mary, the mother of Jesus, remained a virgin after the birth of Jesus (though Mark 6 v3 says Jesus had brothers and sisters-notice the plural) and that Mary was sinless all of her life. Though she called God her SAVIOUR luke 1v47...saviour from what? Jesus was sinless because he had NO sin nature... he was born of the woman- not man's seed (Gen 3v15) Jesus is the Woman's 'seed' in Gen 3v15 that bruised the head of the serpent. Remember a woman has no seed, only a man. That was why Jesus came not by the seed of a man, if he did he would have sin nature from Adam..that's why He is called the 2nd Adam. He did not have roots to the first Adam. He is the ONLY man that came from the seed of a Woman (immaculate conception) a total science impossibility. So, saviour from what was Mary referring to? She is worshiped (or honored, can't be sure which word to use) in the Catholic church as the "Mother of God" and the "Queen of Heaven." St. Bernard stated that she was crowned "Queen of Heaven" by God the Father, and that she currently sits upon a throne in Heaven making intercession for Christians. The Bible however, teaches otherwise. In the Bible, Jesus was only her "firstborn" son, according to Matthew 1:25, Luke 2:23 because she later had other children as well (Mt. 13:55; Gal. 1:19 .There's only ONE mediator between God and men, and it isn't Mary (I Tim. 2:5). The last time we heard of Mary in the Bible she was praying WITH the disciples, not being prayed to BY the disciples (Acts 1:14). The Bible never exalts Mary above anyone else. Like I said these puzzled me and made me leave the catholic church...(Originally born in the Anglican church) I hope italo and co wud explain better |
From Death To Life · Wednesday, November 20th · Pastor Chris I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life (John 5:24 NIV). Great news! This means if you’re born again, you’ve already crossed over from death to life. You’re no longer in the fiefdom of death where Satan, sin, sickness, disease, poverty, disadvantage, and failure hold men in bondage; rather, you’ve crossed over into the realm of life Some Christians, however, still find themselves buffeted by the challenges of life. Their problem, for the most part, is their ignorance of God’s Word. God said, "My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge…" (Hosea 4:6). The quality of life you live here on earth depends on the knowledge of God you have and live by. The Apostle John recognized this when he said, "We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren…" (1 John 3:14). The word "know" in this verse is from the Greek "aido," which means, "to be aware." Have you come to the awareness that you’ve crossed over from death to life, therefore, nothing in you should produce death? Has it dawned on you that you’re not supposed to be sick, broke or snowed-under by the pressures and adversities of life? The Spirit of God, speaking through the Apostle John said, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know (aido) that ye have eternal life…" (1 John 5:13). You need to become aware of these realities! Take possession of the knowledge that you’ve been called into the transcendent life: the supernatural life of dominion, where you reign by grace through righteousness. Prayer Dear Father, I thank you for bringing me out of spiritual death into the arena of life. I have eternal life now; therefore, nothing in me produces death. I live in absolute victory and mastery over Satan, the world and its systems because the greater One lives in me. frosbel: ^^^Its a quiz...wait for his answer! |
shdemidemi: Ok sir^^ One is a Verb, the other a Noun. Bottomline is, you were wrong to say prophets don't have a full picture, only a shade Whether na Prophecy o or Prophesy, all no be from the Holy Spirit?, same which knw the deep things of God, same which dwells in us...eh? |
shdemidemi: May be u shld first realise prophecy in the epistles means teaching the word and not fore-telling.Quick quiz Go study the difference between PROPHESY and PROPHECY Give time to studying God's word sir I'm outta here Cheers |
shdemidemi: You are doing injustice to what the scriptures is saying. We are talking prophesies, you are talking mysteries of grace revealed. Are Prophesies not a gift of the Holy Spirit? Tell Bishop Jones that in Christianity, ALL ideas one should have Must be endorsed by the Bible, else it is not of God |
[quote author=Demain_man]Somebody also said rockstar can also pull crowds. and satan himself can also make one a crowd puller sir. It does not mean a thing![/quote] 2corinth 2 14 But the natural, nonspiritual man does not accept or welcome or admit into his heart the gifts and teachings and revelations of the Spirit of God, for they are folly (meaningless nonsense) to him; and he is incapable of knowing them [of progressively recognizing, understanding, and becoming better acquainted with them] because they are spiritually discerned and estimated and appreciated. |
shdemidemi: No prophet can see the full picture, all they can see is a shade. Only God has the full view, we must trust Him to lead us according to His purpose. 1 corinth 2 9 But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [ [e]who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]. 10 Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the [f]divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man’s scrutiny]. 11 For what person perceives (knows and understands) what passes through a man’s thoughts except the man’s own spirit within him? Just so no one discerns (comes to know and comprehend) the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God. Do you guys ever study? God has given us the HolySpirit that KNOWS the mind of God himself...that's why we say "I have the mind of Christ" Meaning we have the thoughts of God by the Holyspirit Why did you think Paul wrote this Eph 3 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with [size=16pt] ALL [/size]the fulness of God. ALL not SOME I'll keep praying for you all... |
[quote author=Demain_man]Do you know how many people support MANCHESTER UNITED, a mere football club? Most of those followers have been beaten black and blue by Nigeria terrible situation hence they are merely looking for miracle from that man. Majority of them will have their hopes dashed after parting with their hard earned money. It is called spiritual 419 sir[/quote]You compare the Church of God to a football club? You dey try o!...do you know aw many Christian are around the world? Watch your choice of words sir! |
shdemidemi: The devil can give all these things too bro. The voice of the people isn't necessarily the voice of God.Oh Really? If you don't believe he's genuine, believe for the works sake! |
DrummaBoy: The practice of having a head in a church is a veritable one. The problem now is what is this head appointed to do? The five fold ministry as we see in Ephesians 4 is a duty and not an office! They are to bring God's people to maturity!! If after years of discipleship, the people under a Pastor still need you to be "thus saying the Lord" to them, they cannot be said to have come to maturity and you have failed in your ministry. How DARE u!? Have you seared your conscience this much? That man has more than 1miillion brethren in Nigeria alone..not to talk of around the world. You think its by his power and might? You think its by his senses? You that can't gather 20pple (or even ten) for a bible study class and yet you call him a failure. Timothy had a lot brethren in his church in Ephesus..yet Paul was the GO of those churches...was Paul a failure? Titus was a Pastor with Paul as the GO... Was Paul a failure? What about Polycarp? Apollos? You don't understand ministry, you don't have to insult it and ruin yourself consequentially Jude 1:10-11 Living Bible (TLB) 10 But these men mock and curse at anything they do not understand, and like animals, they do whatever they feel like, thereby ruining their souls. 11 Woe upon them! For they follow the example of Cain who killed his brother; and like Balaam, they will do anything for money; and like Korah, they have disobeyed God and will die under his curse. |
Wow! Praise God..but to think that some folks went to another religion for some few millions abt last week ago I think! Thank God for his testimony and life. |
Y'all should forget all the fuss abt all doctrine. God seeks those who will Worship him in Spirit and truth...not doctrines! Doctrines are very very good..but what good are they if not used to Worship in spirit and truth? If you worship in spirit and truth the Holy Spirit will surely guide you to the right doctrine(s). Even if it means leaving your current Church I know there are false doctrine out there, but your protests here or anywhere won't change anything. Your protests here won't preach love, nor peace nor righteousness. But Prayers will and can change that false doctrine. OP, inasmuch as I feel you meant good, and doing God a 'good' service, you were wrong to do this. Why? Because it will only cause discord in the body of Christ and that will not glorify God. It profits no one at all 2 tim 2 AMP 16 But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness. From the above bold, you can see it is already evident on the thread. If you need to see a change in the church of God (any denomination), get on your knees and intercede for them. The Church of Jesus Christ does NOT operate democracy...you don't ALWAYS have freedom of speech. Cheers God bless u |
