Fellowship— Fruit Of Love · Thursday, November 21st ·

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Corinthians 1:9).


There’s no love without fellowship; fellowship is the fruit of love. Abraham was called the "friend of God" (James 2:23) because he enjoyed a close fellowship with the Lord. Now, God has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ, which means you’re called into oneness, partnership, and union with the Lord Jesus.

You have to be in constant communication with the Master. Study His Word to hear from Him; listen in your spirit for His voice, for He has said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27). As you fellowship with Him in prayer, His perfect will is unveiled to you; His counsel and guidance for your life are made clear to you. The Holy Spirit is the One that helps you in your fellowship with Jesus, but your heart must be willing. Fellowship is something you do consciously in response to the Master’s love.

If you really love Jesus, you should be willing to spend time with Him every day. Remember, He’s the Word made flesh, so you spend time with Him when you spend time studying and meditating on the Word. Your fellowship with the Lord is unique to you. He doesn’t have, has never had, and will never have a copy of you, and that’s why He cherishes your fellowship and love. You’re His partner and friend, in a way no one else in the world can be.

Make Jesus your greatest friend, and walk with Him everyday. Your times of personal Bible study, prayer, worship, and praise should be sacred moments; don’t take them lightly. The more you relate with Him through His Word and the Spirit, the more His character and personality are revealed in and through you.

Dear Father, what joy it is to know that I can relate with you in love, and enjoy the fellowship of the God-kind! By the power of the Holy Spirit, I enjoy a deeper and richer fellowship with Jesus every day, and through that fellowship, not only is Christ formed in me, His character is revealed through me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I'm not a Church (any denomination) Critic...but let me just say things that puzzle me

The Catholic church 'assumes' that Peter was the first
Pope and the earthly head of the church, but the Bible
never says this once.

Popes do not marry, although Peter did (Mat. 8:14; I Cor. 9:5). If he was actually the '1st pope' 'ordained by Jesus' it would be logical to follower his pattern, no?

The Bible never speaks of Peter being in Rome, and it was Paul, not Peter, who wrote the epistle to the Romans. Or was Peter a Pope from Asia?

In the New Testament, Paul wrote 100 chapters with 2,325 verses, while Peter wrote only 8 chapters with 166 verses. In Peter's first epistle he stated that he was simply "an apostle of Jesus Christ," not a Pope (I Pet. 1:1).

Roman Catholics believe that Mary, the mother of
Jesus, remained a virgin after the birth of Jesus (though Mark 6 v3 says Jesus had brothers and sisters-notice the plural) and that Mary was sinless all of her life. Though she called God her SAVIOUR luke 1v47...saviour from what? Jesus was sinless because he had NO sin nature... he was born of the woman- not man's seed (Gen 3v15) Jesus is the Woman's 'seed' in Gen 3v15 that bruised the head of the serpent. Remember a woman has no seed, only a man. That was why Jesus came not by the seed of a man, if he did he would have sin nature from Adam..that's why He is called the 2nd Adam. He did not have roots to the first Adam. He is the ONLY man that came from the seed of a Woman (immaculate conception) a total science impossibility. So, saviour from what was Mary referring to?

She is worshiped (or honored, can't be sure which word to use) in the Catholic church as the "Mother of God" and the "Queen of Heaven." St. Bernard stated that she was crowned "Queen of Heaven" by God the Father, and that she currently sits upon a throne in Heaven making intercession for Christians.

The Bible however, teaches otherwise. In the Bible, Jesus was only her "firstborn" son, according to Matthew 1:25, Luke 2:23 because she later had other children as well (Mt. 13:55; Gal. 1:19.

There's only ONE mediator between God and men, and it isn't Mary (I Tim. 2:5).

The last time we heard of Mary in the Bible she was
praying WITH the disciples, not being prayed to BY
the disciples (Acts 1:14). The Bible never exalts Mary
above anyone else.

I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life (John 5:24 NIV).


Great news! This means if you’re born again, you’ve already crossed over from death to life. You’re no longer in the fiefdom of death where Satan, sin, sickness, disease, poverty, disadvantage, and failure hold men in bondage; rather, you’ve crossed over into the realm of life

Some Christians, however, still find themselves buffeted by the challenges of life. Their problem, for the most part, is their ignorance of God’s Word. God said, "My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge…" (Hosea 4:6). The quality of life you live here on earth depends on the knowledge of God you have and live by. The Apostle John recognized this when he said, "We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren…" (1 John 3:14).

The word "know" in this verse is from the Greek "aido," which means, "to be aware." Have you come to the awareness that you’ve crossed over from death to life, therefore, nothing in you should produce death? Has it dawned on you that you’re not supposed to be sick, broke or snowed-under by the pressures and adversities of life?

The Spirit of God, speaking through the Apostle John said, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know (aido) that ye have eternal life…" (1 John 5:13). You need to become aware of these realities! Take possession of the knowledge that you’ve been called into the transcendent life: the supernatural life of dominion, where you reign by grace through righteousness.

Prayer  

Dear Father, I thank you for bringing me out of spiritual death into the arena of life. I have eternal life now; therefore, nothing in me produces death. I live in absolute victory and mastery over Satan, the world and its systems because the greater One lives in me. Halleluiah.

DrummaBoy: The practice of having a head in a church is a veritable one. The problem now is what is this head appointed to do? The five fold ministry as we see in Ephesians 4 is a duty and not an office! They are to bring God's people to maturity!! If after years of discipleship, the people under a Pastor still need you to be "thus saying the Lord" to them, they cannot be said to have come to maturity and you have failed in your ministry.

This ministries are not instituted in the church in the sense of heading and that is why Peter warns against Lording it over the flock of the Lord; rather they are there to help God's people to grow.

In my article were criticized the 3KM by 3KM church auditorium the Redeemed Church is planning on the express (Lagos-Ibadan), I made it clear that if Daddy G O had been doing what he is supposed to be doing in all these years of ministering on the express, there will not be the need to continue to have people flock there every month for Holy Ghost night. The fact that he and others like him have failed in the ministry committed to hands, turning the ministry to a place where they are G O, more than a place were they should mature saints under them, is the reason why they need such a big auditorium today.

Christian ministry is service to the church and not a place to enjoy privilege or revel in position.

I know there are false doctrine out there, but your protests here or anywhere won't change anything. Your protests here won't preach love, nor peace nor righteousness. But Prayers will and can change that false doctrine.

OP, inasmuch as I feel you meant good, and doing God a 'good' service, you were wrong to do this. Why? Because it will only cause discord in the body of Christ and that will not glorify God. It profits no one at all

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple (Psalm 119:130).


Some people may not know this, but every human being has two sets of eyes. The first is our physical eyes with which we see and appreciate the world around us. The other set is the spiritual eyes, which, incidentally, most never use, or don’t know how to use; they’ve never seen with the spiritual eyes. Such people only see things from the natural point of view.

Only the Word of God can open your spiritual eyes. I remember the testimony of a man who was healed in one of our meetings. For two years, he couldn’t recognize anyone, not even his wife or siblings. While at the meeting, however, he was fully restored to normalcy. Even though we didn’t physically lay hands on him, he experienced a divine touch because he was in the presence of God, where the Word was being taught. Hence, his mind was illumined to see and comprehend rightly again—that’s the power of God’s Word!

Our opening verse says, "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." Interestingly, the Greek Septuagint uses the word "photizo," which means to illuminate or flood with light. Therefore, the verse should actually read, "The entrance of thy words floods with light…." As you allow God’s Word into your heart through diligent study and constant meditation, your heart is flooded with light. It’s akin to the Spirit’s prayer through the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 1:17-18 which says "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened…." He prays that the eyes of your spirit will be flooded with light.

Even now, as you’re studying God’s Word in this devotional, something is happening in your spirit. Your spiritual eyes are being flooded with light; they’re being enlightened to see and apprehend the realities of our heavenly Kingdom.

Confession  

I testify that there’s light in my life and in all that concerns me, because I’m yielded to the ministry of the Word. I refuse to fret today or in the future because the light of the Gospel shines in my heart, showing me the path of victory and success! There’s no darkness whatsoever in my life; my way is bright and my future secure. Halleluiah!

Once you’re born again, your life becomes one of blessings; 1 Peter 3:9 says you were called to inherit a blessing. Then 2 Peter 1:3 tells us that His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that has called us to glory and virtue. Inside you is the glory of God—the beauty and excellence of the Spirit. Therefore, always look inwards to the glory within.

The Lord Jesus said in Luke 6:45, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good…." He didn’t say you should pray to God to give you good things from heaven, because your spirit is a reservoir of good things; you only need to bring them forth!

When you received the Holy Spirit, you received into you life and godliness. You don’t need to look for help outside, because the "Helper" lives in you. His presence in your life represents solution to every crisis, and deliverance from all troubles. You don’t need to seek to be blessed because you’ve already inherited a blessing (1 Peter 3:9). What you need to do now is to "search and discover"; in other words, look into the mirror of God, and discover who you really are.

Acknowledge that you’re the blessed of God. Testify that in Christ, you have everything you require for a heaven-inspired, successful and victorious life in this world. The communication of your faith becomes effectual as you acknowledge every good thing, which is in you in Christ Jesus (Philemon 1:6). There’re good things already in you—pleasurable things—things that bring joy, honour, and excellence, because you’re in Christ Jesus! Look inwards and bring forth excellence from within you.

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for endowing me with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. I’m full and loaded with good things, and I bring forth excellence from within me today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I am about leaving the thread, not just because you guys are recycling questions and posts, or that you keep shooting your feet...but because I find no joy in being happy over your shortcomings in the Word, over your blunder and that of others here, all in a bid to reject tithing.

I'd rather go pray for God's knowledge to fill you and others willing, as the waters cover the sea.

Note!...it will profit us nothing if we keep wallowing in a matter that's not weightier (but necessary) in Christianity, where there are weightier things to be discussed in Christianity.

God didn't give you a commission to go about fighting a tithe war! Let Him fight His war! He uproots all that is not His, if Tithing was/is not of God, let God uproot it Himself...He is able
