TONY56: When was Stanbic shaky? If you don't know, Stanbic has always been No1 or No2 for a long time despite the fact that they don't have up to 1/3 of the branches of First Bank. Refer to their share price at the stock market if you are in doubt and you will see that it's either Stanbic at the apex or GTB.
If what you are looking for is a Nigerian Bank that is strong and reliable, then think of STANBIC, GTB & ZENITH. FIRST BANK is very far behind these 3 banks. Facts! Facts! Facts! Also wanted to say this. |

It will balance out at the end, because where there is short selling there will be going long too. So I think it will be an advantage rather than a disadvantage. |

tritritri: Please share more light on this for slow learner like me. na berg i berg @GonFreecss1 Lol. I am not as bad a guy as you think o. I am a learner too. What I am trying to say is, some people here are being optimistic, thinking it's all over, capitulations have not even started. I remember one time someone said once dividend is above 10% yield or close to Treasury bills interest or so, then they are at the bottom. People have forgotten some companies paid a dividend yield of 20-30% in the past 2015/2016 period which is still close. Another person was saying something about a bull market soon, even when the all share index has been showing otherwise. Hence my statement, people have short memories. All in all, I am still a learner but I know people always behave the same way, Numbers don't lie. |

ernie4life: Diamond Bank eurobond is currently at $96 a unit with coupon of 8.75% for less than 6months, thats a good opportunity.
Many people are scared of diamond bank because of the recent propagandas of a planned buy out which is not yet confirmed,
in my opinion I don't think its true, even if there is a buy out, the buyer also buys the firms liability meaning, the buyer will still pay the bonds and coupons upon maturity.
Note: the offer rate is indicative, meaning it can change at any time Hey Ernie! Longest time my friend. Have you looked at their books? |

Chai. What a day at NSEMPA! Emotional drama all the way. First of all, why should what someone you probably don't know on the internet affect how you trade? If you have a difference of opinion with people, how does that make them or you village people? The moment you announce your trades on a public platform be ready for dance of the masquerade. It's the same thing with celebrities and famous people whose lives are out there. That's humans for you. Always remember that many have a different agenda from what you are here for. People's opinion will be different, but you know what can't happen? No one will take your hand and buy or sell a stock for you. It is you that will do it last last after all is said and done, I am sorry if I sound like an asshole, but this is the internet, what did you expect? We can't all be mincing words and hold hands and dance, or do some Kumbaya. So just take it easy guys and suck it up! Emotional tantrums won't help you or anyone else. The first rule of the financial market is to remove emotion, and like Warren Buffet even said if you say negative things about stocks he owns and it goes down in price, he will buy more. If you say anything negative about a stock I own, and price drops, I will thank you very much, buy more then go and give a lucky girl the best sex ever. As far as people are not breaking Nairaland rules or abusing anyone, I think people have a right to post whatever they want to. If people don't have that, then why are we here? |

mendes911: I never knew how badly you were hit until 2 Friday's ago. The bulls surfaced in Diamond on Friday and by Saturday, you quickly reconciled with your arch enemy, Mcy56. The friendship got more cemented when she bought and joined you in Diamond. I hope you will maintain the friendship going forward, you almost nearly changed tone today!
All the best in your endeavour. Am surprised that you are surprised that you missed averaging down when it got to 66k. I told you months ago when this stock was trading above N1.50 that you will be too devastated to buy the stock at 80K, it got better than 80k and you didn't buy more! I hope you will not watch the whole waves from 1 to 100 and still be stuck with your diemond shares at the end of the day. Anything can happen in this market.
Say I like woman no mean say I go sleep with anyone that comes my way. Some women will naked in front of me from morning till night and my commander will never get tickled. Since DBN released their Q2, I was never in any way interested in your Diemond stock. I could buy a few units of the stock when it finally trades for 20k, just as a bragging right that I once bought the stock at that price. Nothing more, nothing else. Hahahahahahahhaa. |

Internetboy: Also I read sonehwere that, Stanbic charges 20% of the profit (interest rate)... Its this true? Erm. I am not so sure. Call their customer care and ask though. I suspect 1-2% off the % of the interest. So could that be 20% of profit? Probably. But before you quote me, please talk to their customer service. |

I want to venture into this kind of investment, any little info you can give to assist will be appreciated. I don't know how Stanbic does theirs, but the rates fluctuate just like other mutual funds do. If you speak to their customer care they will tell you how this is done. |

shiftbutton: Please what's the process like for Eurobond fund? Do you need to have euro or USD domm account? What's the minimum investment required? I do the mutual fund type, and yes you need a domiciliary account as that is where your interest will be sent. Minimum is 1,000 USD dollars then a subsequent 500 USD minimum anytime you like. You can choose between Stanbic, FBN quest or United Capital. They will put you through. Just visit their site, email or call them. Note Stanbic calls theirs the Dollar fund. Forgotten what Fbn calls theirs. But just talk to them they will understand what you want. |
