These politicians in position of authority did not even send anybody. Anyway, for newbies, I will advice that you don't panic sell at loss. If prices goes down, it will still go up again. My 50cent. My dear, why are you becoming the same kinda way the other lady I will not mention became because of Diamond Bank? Don't create double standards dear, just swallow this L. No need to insult anyone. |

The problem is you lot predicting bulls. The problem is many of you were too optimistic. Many of you don't know it could have been you guys that actually caused the bull by buying and not selling. I suspect this was all a bull trap. Anyway, market will always do what it has to do. Yesterday CBN had to pump in another 210 million USD to keep the naira stable. What that is telling us is that some Foreign guys are probably leaving. Those of you who bought fundamentally good companies can relax a bit, those who bought speculation, watch what happens when Tbills and FGN bond rates starts rising. You all should even be praying that Federal foreign Reserve should not be depleted. Knowing how Nigeria is after all this elections, we shall see. I might be wrong though. |

Barrytone: Lol, I traveled Nov 2016, 1 pound was 600 naira then. A glass of beer was 4pounds, that is equivalent of a full crate. That season wasnt too good for a first timer. I spent my vacation indoors in UK which is as good as staying in my house. Generally, it was too dull for my bubbling lifestyle as everybody is always busy with work and no one to show you round. I took a decision, if am not traveling for business then I better enjoy my ever bubbling Naija provided you have the money Hmmn... Well said my man. I understand. Glad to have you back in Naija. |

Barrytone: willing to share if only I know what you are asking about. But if on the billion naira which I think should be of interest to every aspiring billionaire. I drafted a 20yrs plan with nothing less than 500k per month and reinvesting profits. As long as I get my salary then this trend will continue till 2030 and my capital would have crossed the billion mark. We can be billionaires even as a salary earner. I laughed when some people say you can't become a millionaire working as a salary earner. Make a plan today, it's never late. Thanks for this, I was talking about your adventure in UK you said you regretted. |

Barrytone: It's unfortunate that you mentioned me, am a Nigerian and living in Nigeria, only visited UK in 2016 and regretted the adventure so I know nothing about dollars am comfortable with naira. You only bother if you live a cross boarder life. With no plans of living Naija, I have a billion naira projection by 2030. Then I will retire to enjoy my 120m annually, 10m monthly. So you can keep calculating your dollars. As at this morning, a dollar is 360 so all calculations failed and might continue to fail. I know this is a Tbills thread, but care to share the adventure in question? |

TotoNaRubber: Haha, the guy is trying his luck, even if he tie rope on the necks of regular TB investors here NOBODY will patronise him.
In a dwindling economy like Nigeria convincing pple to leave what works for them to follow an uncertain company that is not a commercial bank is IMPOSIBLE.
During the time of MMM i had pple telling me from left, right and center invest invest. I thought about it and almost invested N15m, on a second thought i said wait a minute, i told myself i'm well informed, because pple are doing it doesn't mean i should do it, the N10 in your pocket is greater than the N5 million you put in such risky business, i lock up.
Two months later MMM shut down at the december period, i used N500k out of the money i was supposed to invest in MMM to control some punanies from ABJ, LAGOS and enjoy myself.
Today, my TB portfolio has even grown more because i did the right thing. Greed to get richer kills faster than a bullet, these scums will use same money they steal from people to control punanies while the people suffer heart attack.

bodysoul: Hello my people. Abeg, I have always wanted to invest in this shares/stocks but my fear is, I don't want to loose money.
Can a good Samaritan please enlighten a brother.
I have no clue about the stock market I just want to Understand it..
No information is useless...
Thank you If you are scared of loosing money, I will suggest you stick with Treasury bills or Federal Government Bonds. There is no way you want to do it that the stock you buy won't drop in price. If you don't have the heart for it, just forget it. Even if you choose an undervalued stock, it can still drop in price. But if you are not moved by instant gratification and can endure pain, and you won't have sleepless nights, then by all means you are welcome. I am sure many will put you through. Though I will advise you to do your own research and learn how to read financial statements, stocks are not just numbers, they are part ownership of a business. Know what you want to buy, why you are buying it and why you want to keep it. The moment you lose track of one of this things, trouble starts. |

nofundforme: I am out of stock trade for now. I lost a huge amount of money after hearing bonaza gospel. I sold at lost even though I bought very high last yr February. I held all my stocks until I started hearing bonaza. I wanted to play safe and smart, but I missed it. I have learnt my lesson in a hard way. I need to recover before delving into stock trading again. Thanks for your recommendation. When people say Bonanza, that's not a cue for you to sell. Peter Lynch said it best, "Know what you own, and know why you own it." That is why you have to always buy stocks below their intrinsic value for a margin of safety. Apparently it seems you bought around the all time high's which is sad. No matter how the stock market is behaving, the only thing you should be looking at is how much a company is worth in liquidation value and not Market value and how much they are making for investors per share, year on year. Then compare that with inflation rates, Treasury bill rates and bond rates to see if the company is keeping up. From here you can have an estimate if it is undervalued or overvalued. This is not a one size fits all, it is just another way of analyzing. Buying on impulse due to price swings and increase in price is a recipe for disaster. If anyone recommends a stock here, ask them why before you take their advice and buy. For selling that should be up to you when you feel a company is overvalued. Trust me, I am a very patient guy, I do not buy stocks or any other assets during upswings, it has helped me a lot. Wish you all the best though, and better tidings. |

Transcorp and zenith are not in the same league and what drives their respective price is not the same. I have an obligation to make people especially newbies not speculate and get burnt. Mcy56: Hmmm, at the bolded that wasnt speculation, it's based on results. This kind of reaction is expected, it do happen to the fundamentally sound companies such as Zenith too. One would now keep wondering what went wrong. What is happening in the market today cuts across some other good stocks too possibly due to the election postponement. This same transcorp was selling in the 3naira region before it was dragged down due to poor result. Now they have good result, let's keep watching how the drama will unfold. The truth is that some missed out of the rally so far, I hope they wouldn't miss out of the next phase too. Really? So let me ask you a question. If you had 2 people running a business for you. The first one who you give more money brings some money for you. The other other one brings back 10% more than the first one with less money. Which one should you logically give more money to when the economy is bad? And things are uncertain? Especially when just last week, the first one came back with more than before but the second one brought more than it this time with even 11%. Will you say because that one came with more it's an improvement, and you speculate that in the future it will bring more for you while Ignoring the one were you spend less and make more? This is the stock market in a nutshell. That is why we have things like P/E and earnings per share etc. So you understand how much money a company is making per share for you, dividends or no dividends. I am not even talking about dividends now, I am telling you that as at that friday the P/E of Transcorp was higher than GT bank, a company that is trading at over x 2 it's book value, what that means is a company with over 70% profit margin, but which some people will see as overpriced because of it's x 2 book value price had a lower P/E than Transcorp that did over 30% in price. Meaning I will spend less on GT but make more than I would have on Transcorp! So, I ask again, on what basis were people thinking Transcorp should go higher? It is speculation. Simple. I have no problem with speculation you can still make money, but with speculation you have to be ready to pay tithe to Mr Market, tithe you are probably not ready to pay, but you should have been. For the newbies, for your own good, stop looking at stock as just numbers. You are buying a piece of business. Think like a businessman. Be careful how you speculate.

locodemy: can you now see how people make paper profit in volatile stocks.
The best time to sell some stocks is when on bid.... Something went up over 30% and people didn't sell... hahahahahahahaha. I have always warned people here that the reason things go up is because many people including themselves holding that asset are not selling, so basically a situation of more buyers than sellers. The reverse is the case when things start going down. Classic Tragic story. Gt bank is over 2 times it's book value, but has a P/E ratio less than Transcorp. The question you have to ask is, why were people thinking Transcorp could keep going up? That was speculation at best. Like I said, we will all keep learning. |

Chibuking if I remember correctly told people to start buying in January and said if you missed January, opportunities will come February. Then something about after/before election. So why is he being dragged?
Even OGG would have been dragged some days back here. Why?
You have to take what you see with a pinch of salt, we are all faceless here. No one will force you to buy or sell, you will be the one making that decision.
