Pls read the article again. Also, CBN didn't say it had punished the bank. It said it will...future tense. If cbn was punishing any bank, it would have said so. It doesn't have the boldness to punish any bank because it hasn't given them money. You can't punish someone for a crime they didn't commit.

Thought I heard a news saying CBN get monitoring team that appear unannounced and can check banks vaults to know if they truly don't v new notes.

If Buhari really wants to give Nigerians free and fair election Bichi has to go, the role DSS plays during electioneering cannot be under looked, that's the only reason Bichi's wife can threaten to frustrate a Governorship candidate for advising her.

They might v punished the bank discreetly to avoid public onslaught. How they discovered it is by checking their vault. They probably came unannounced.
