Osa0: First pray for grace, then get used to your reason of coming and all data surrounding. Mine was pretty easy. Why are you here and where does your wife work? As I intend to explain my 6 Year old son shouted. " Oh ! Daddy am tired, what does this man want?"Next thing the immigration guy said sorry young Buddy, then he stamped our passport and said Welcome to London. WOW! Your little boy saved the day!😃 Guess everyone travelling with a kid has to start giving them orientation to do same at the POE.😉 |

Globalshaper: Please elders in the house, I need your advice.
My dream has always been to work in the lab as a medical lab scientist. Due to some factors, I couldn’t get admitted into the course in Nigeria, I had to study medical biochemistry.
The conversion course was also stopped in Nigeria so I couldn’t move over.
Now, I will be resuming in UK for MSc Biotechnology next month, I have the following questions, please:
1. Is it still worth it pursuing a conversion to Biomedical Science practice in the UK? Is it possible?
2. If yes, how? Are there courses and internship to take to join IBMS, and eventually HCPC so I am ready to take on NHS roles immediately after graduation.
3. Or should I just fully pursue Biotechnology which seems to have limited opportunities and sponsorship in the UK compared to Biomedical Science.
Note: The only time I practiced biomedical science was during my IT in Nigeria few years ago. But I have worked in the health/wellness awareness space ever since graduation.
Thanks a lot Don't over worry yourself, just get in first. If you're unable to get a good professional job after graduation, then join the care sector as a med lab assistant, care assistant or support worker & work your way up; what matters most is to have a legitimate job.🤷🏾♂️ |

kdf3449: Its very confusing you know. Someone advised that i swear an affidavit of fact or parenthood ( nothing person no go hear for visa matter lol ), the affidavit will state that i and my wife has been the one catering for my daughter for the past 5yrs. Then i should attach letter of maintenance stating that we are both capable to cater for her wellbeing and that we have sole responsibility over her, then attach bank statement. I don't know if this will be of help the situation
Please gurus in the house should come to my aid. @advanceDNA Why don't you get those docs Mofolam listed for you? She clearly stated you shouldn't use an ordinary affidavit, and I'm sure she advised based on her recent experience.🤷🏾♂️ |

UyaiIncomparabl: Hello. A friend asked me this question which I couldn't answer. Kindly assist with any relevant answer(s) if there are any. ----------------- Please, I have the Caredemy 1-15 standard care courses and 12 certified care courses from Florence Academy but I am always getting "unfortunately messages". I am thinking of doing some level 3 NVQ courses if that can boost my CV. So, please, I need advice on what to do and which NVQ level 3 program I can register for if necessary. What do you think I can do? -------------------- Thanks in anticipation for your responses. Having a million care qualifications will not guarantee a job. Nowadays, it's purely by luck, or by street parole. That's the sad reality!😔 |

cejo: Good Day house, pls I need to know if ECCTIS/NARIC conversion via school transcript submittal can be used for admission into nursing program in UK other than IELTS & which is d most accepted.Pls any useful information Abt d enquiry plz oblige me I don't think so, because UK NMC only approves of IELTS Academic or OET for nursing programmes. But you can also inquire directly from the universities you hope to apply to. |

nacozee: Sorry that I did not update. I eventually cancelled that application. Lots of people adviced to leave it like that and submit my IELTS together with a cover letter explaining what happened. But I had more people advice that I cancel it and start a fresh application. I cancelled it.
Was a tough decision because I already paid for the application. Getting extra fund to reapply was an issue, and the refund can take upto 28 days. However that was what I ended up doing. I cancelled it, and reapplied. In that field where it asked if I had an Certificate equivalent to that in UK I selected No. I have gotten the VISA about a week ago or more.
Thanks everyone for the contributions. Really helpfull Congratulations!🎉 So have you been refunded your application fee, and how long did it take you to receive it? PS Scroll back a page or two, someone posted their PoE questions there. |

Mindlog: It is more of a career I desired, had to take the bold step of re-routing my path towards the field of psychology and had to go re-do a Bachelor degree in it and while in my second year, did a course in child and adolescent psychology, I then made up my mind I was going to specialize in child and adolescent mental health......there are so much career opportunities working with young persons in the UK but most Nigerians who come over to the UK for studies, don't follow the data reason after studies, many still pay for COS to do care jobs.(I don't in any way demean it as it is an honest job). WOW! What a long journey thru career development. Glad you successfully achieved it.👏🏿 Please take good care of those kids.😊🤗 |

Mindlog: Dem no suppose pay me, say wetin happen?😆😆
I must admit, it wasn't stressful at all and more over I was studying for my Masters in Clinical Child Psychology at the University....as I now recall sitting in the warm lounge, legged crossed over the coffee table and sipping hot coffee while watching Netflix as it snowed outside and me, remembering fellow Nigerian students still struggling with the very miserable 7hrs night shifts at the DHL warehouse I briefly worked in while pursuing the residential support worker role.
Those roles still very much exist but one has to be resilient especially dealing with young ones struggling with one issue or the other, from eating disorder, autism, emotional and behavioural disorders etc .....sha, undergoing such much training is involved. From health and safety, prevention of self harm, food preparation and preservation, medication, child sexual exploitation, reflective journaling, daily temperature checks of the refrigerator, water temperature must be ideal for the young person, the house car must be checked daily, the windows must be checked regularly to make sure no breach as some of those young persons have PhD in escaping from care and by the you realize and calling the police to report a child missing in care, pikin don enter train dey go London.😆😆 You're a good storyteller!👍🏾 Have you been able to get a job as a Clinical Child Psychologist? |

Mindlog: Yes it does. I did it during my student days. 12hrs shifts from 8 pm to 8a.m. Had a young person aged 15 in the house (a building of 4 bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, garage, a conservatory attached to the house. We had 6 support worker, one team leader and one house manager working around that young person who was brought in by the social service.
Mine was to resume at 8p.m to take over from the 2 day staff who worked from 8a.m to 8p.m, one of the staff would go home while the second would stay back and sleep in the staff sleep-in room and would be paid for it. He or she would have been woken up to serve as my backup should there have been any incident that required 2 staff to handle.
As I take over, I will be in the office (converted from the master bedroom) doing the paperwork, checking the sharps (knives, scissors etc) are complete, the money in the safe, the medicine box, the first aid box etc Check the entire house is clean except going to the young person's bedroom as she is always in her room at that time on her phone with her TV on.
I then went to the kitchen and heat up and eat from the meal reserved for me by the day staff after I which I went to the lounge to watch Netflix through the night to keep me awake while intermittently I went up to listen from the door of the young person to ascertain she is sleeping, I got it recorded. I then intermittently go to the kitchen to make coffee and gooble up some snacks;provided by the company.
At about 5 a m, I do a light clean up of the house, make sure the paperwork is updated (though along the line we stopped doing physical paperwork and transited into inputing into a software)
I had my breakfast at about 7a.m and waited for the day shift to come around 7.50a.m and I hand over to them, after which I leave for home....work done!😊😊 This your work soft pass today bread 😲oo! Them no suppose pay you sef, or just pay you in Naira!😂🏃🏿♂️ |

Georgiedey: CERTAINLY WHAT GOD CAN NOT NOT DO DOES NOT EXIST!!!
Visa Alert
Visa application- 6th May
Biometric- 15th May ( standard Ikeja vac)
Got empty NSF- 2nd June- I presume they needed to authenticate my IELTS result cos i couldnt wait for the hard copy from the British council as it too long after mutiple calls and mails to them so instead i cropped the result from there site and attached a cover letter to explain my reason
Visa approved on the 15th exactly a month after
Got decision mail today 18th June
DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED
Pcc
Tb test to expired on 5th June
Cropped copy of IELTS result
POF exactly 28 days Congratulations! 🎉 So UKVI accepted the online result, right? I don't know why someone would pay huge amounts of money to British Council for an English test, for a visa application, and they would choose to delay and frustrate the person, even when they claim they could deliver in few days!😡 |
