@ Everyone, I will love to invite all and throw a party anytime I visit the motherland. They ONLY thing I can assure you all is pounded yam + egusi/spinach soup cooked with bush meat (Grasscutter, that is my family business) and thereafter, a visit to the beach and some historic sites in my hometown, Badagry, Lagos State. But my fear for "some" of you that will attend is that you don't sell your birthright after eating the proposed meal...... ![]() Y'all wonderful people. |
musKeeto: People I'd like to meetBrother, I love to meet you and many others and it will surely happen one day, no matter how long it takes. |
CrazyMan: Too be honest, I'd love to meet everyone...this religion section has really enlightened me, thanks to the dedicated members. ![]() |
.....still following o, make una no think say I don contribute and run comot....I have one or more issue to contribute in my observation on this religious session as it relates to this the OP. I will like SNCOQ3 to conclude on his "Thomas factor" and more (if any).....God bless y'all. |
truthislight: then what have you said? Nothing,You have always proved yourself in this session to be a RUDE CHRISTIAN. Get rid of the works of the flesh so you can increase in the fruit of the Spirit for both are constantly at war in your life and to whom you yield yourself to, you are servant of such. |
obadiah777: YOU DISAGREED ONLY TO GO AHEAD AND REPEAT THE EXACT SAME THING THAT WAS SAID ALL ALONG. SOME VERSES IN THE BIBLE ARE 'AMBIGUOUS', MEANING THEY APPLY TO MANY SITUATIONS. THAT VERSE IS ONE OF THE AMBIGUOUS VERSES. AN EAGLE PASTOR FEEDING ON THE DEAD FLOCK IS ONE OF THE WAYS IT CAN BE REFERENCED AS WELL AS JESUS FEEDING ON THOSE WHO ARE STILL SPIRITUALLY DEAD WHEN HE RETURNS. MY POINT HERE IS IT SEEMS LIKE YOU DISAGREED JUST TO DISAGREE.To say that a pastor can feed of dead flock is understandable BUT to say that Jesus feeding on those who are spiritually dead when he returns is unbiblical......Jesus cannot be the one sitting on the horse in Revelation and as well be the eagle/fowl feeding on the dead. Jesus only used or called the fowls to come feed on the dead bodies, He himself is not the fowl or eagle that will feed on the dead. This is the point am making. |
Now, let's look at the context of the "proverbial verse" and let's decode it using scriptures to explain scripture....my best method as a bible teacher. Okay. 27. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24. Here we understand Jesus was talking about his second coming. Right in the midst of his sayings about his second coming, he made a such heavy and proverbial statement, "For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together" pulling from the book of Job. 27.Does the eagle soar at your command and build his nest on high?.......30.His young ones feast on blood, and where the slain are, there is he." Job 39. Now we understand Jesus was using the symbol of "Eagle and dead or carcase" to tell his disciples about his second coming, that is an event that will take place at his second coming. The very perfect explanation to this proverbial statement is found in the book of Revelation. This is where it was decoded for our understanding. 17.And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18.That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all [men, both] free and bond, both small and great. 19.And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20.And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21.And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which [sword] proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. Revelation 19 Here we understand that the reference to Matthew 24:28 as to the gathering of the eagles on the carcase as it relates to the second of Jesus in verse 27 of Matthew 24, is an imagery of JUDGMENT on the bodies of those who rebelled against God AFTER the beast (Anti-Christ) and the false prophet (singular) had been taken and defeated. The body of the remnants that will be slain with the sword are then fed by the vultures. So Revelation explains the context of what Christ meant in his proverbial statement in Matthew 24:28. |
Okay, bro. danwo and sister ATMC, I will share my view in context.....I see what you and Obadiah777 are saying then. That is from the view of "revelation teaching" and I go with it also. I will share my view in context of how the verse stands in context.....will soon finish what am doing and come share my view.....iron sharpen iron |
^^^ Hey my dearest brother danwo, Like I said to Obadiah777 in the beginning of this thread, there is absolutely nothing wrong from a "revelation interpretation" or "revelation insight" the Holy Spirit gives to a member of the body but when you pull a verse or scriptures out of its context esp. a proverbial type like Matt. 24:28 Kjv, and apply it "dead church" being fed on by predatory eagle (e.g. general overseers, archbishops, bishops, zonal pastors, master prophets etc), then you need to show us, using scripture to explain scripture how you arrive at such interpretation. That is my concern in this subject. Now, since that proverbial verse is in the context of Jesus second coming.....how does that translates to the atrocities of the Ezekiel 34 false shepherd feeding on the dead church? when the context is about the second coming of Christ....That is what I can't understand my brother......Abi my eyes don dey read different translations? |
^^^ Laughing is Spanish....... . I will answer to that verse before the end of today and let's see how it goes. |
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:2-3 Kjv FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT In the new creature experience as we started, the first thing that God does by Holy Spirit is to transform a man from darkness into light and the light of the gospel is put in the spirit of a man. Listen to this, But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. 1 Peter 2:9 Kjv Apostle Paul also showed us by the Spirit of God citing from Genesis 1:2-3 in 2 Corinthians 4:6, For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. This is the work and manifestation of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a man. By the Spirit, darkness is transformed into light. Formlessness and voidness is lifted off the life of the man in Christ in the new creature. There is transformation from darkness to light. Take a look and notice of change from "darkness...surface of the deep" to "Spirit of God moving...surface of the waters". The text deliberately changes now from the term for the watery deep to the general word for water. The arena is now the life-giving water and not the chaotic abyss-like deep. The change may be merely stylistic, but it may also carry some significance. The deep carries with it the sense of the abyss, chaos and darkness – in short, that which is not good for life while the water is the living water that flows from the spirit of a new creature, by the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, "out of your belle shall flow rivers of living water" John 7:38. THE PURPOSE OF THE LIGHT IN THE NEW CREATURE This great and marvellous light in the life of the new creature is to be the light of the world because the world from which the new creature was called from is full of darkness. Isaiah said, "darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people but the Lord shall arise upon....." - Isaiah 60:2. Jesus said, you (that is, new creature man) are the light of the world. You cannot give a light you don't have. But as you are a new creature in Christ, there is a light in you through Christ. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:4 Kjv When you are in Christ, a "life" in infused into you and this life gives you light and with this new light that you now have, you can then become the light of the world. The light will give form and shape to the formlessness and voidness of your life. All men shall see your light and glorify your father who is in heaven. This light will draw others to Christ even as you continue to live in the light of the Gospel. By your new life that will translate in your new way of life, gentiles shall come to the light. |
^^^ Okay. Obadiah777, why don't you attempt that verse since you quoted as your opening scripture for your thread. What is that verse telling us? Let's see you attempt it first. Thanks |
I'll like to begin to series of revelation teaching with you on the Gospel and/or the mind of God in the creation account of Genesis chapter one. The Bible says, For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 1 Cor. 2:11 Kjv The word of God also declare to us, But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 1 Cor. 2:10 Kjv Also, our God knows the end from the beginning. Isaiah 46:10; Rev. 22:13. What on earth is the beginning of creation as we know? Genesis! The creation account of Genesis and the the word also declares, the end of a matter/thing is better than the beginning. Ecl. 7:8. God has the end in mind right from the creation and you are included in the mind of God. Let us start with Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Kjv) What is the Gospel of God in this verse and/or in the mind of God? It is the Gospel of NEW CREATION or NEW CREATURE. In the beginning God created. What God created is the physical world but what we understand by the physical world is the invisibly of the visible creation. The NEW CREATION OR CREATURE is in the mind of God when He created the visible world. Listen to this: For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Romans 1:20 Kjv For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. (NLT) Glory to God. Romans 1:20 in New Living Translation is awesome! What is clearly seen is God's invisible qualities and one of this invisible qualities that is seen from creation is divine nature. How is that possible - through the new creation or creature. David understood the key word in Genesis 1:1, "create" and he said, Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10 Kjv Only God is the subject of creation. David understood this revelation and hence he prayed, "Create...O God...". This is exactly what happens in the new creation - The spirit of a man is renewed and such man becomes a new creature. The English verb “create” captures well the meaning of the Hebrew term in this context. The verb (bara’) always describes the divine activity of fashioning something new, fresh, and perfect. The verb means but not limited to creation out of nothing (see, for example, Gen. 1:27, where it refers to the creation of man); it often stresses creation anew. Apostle Paul tapped into this same revelation and Gospel in the creation account and he wrote, Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Cor. 5:17 Kjv. If ANY MAN means the sinful man, the wayward man, the lying man, the man that steals, the man that fornicates, the man that commits adultery, the man that cheats, the man that does wickedness, the man that kills, the man that hates, the man that commits abortion, the occult man, the ritual man, the pagan man, the labouring man, the cursed man, the rejected and neglected man, the forsaken man, the suicide attempting man, the heavy ladened man, the weary man, the unfruitful man, the backsliden man, the tormented man, the fearful man etc. If ANY MAN be in Christ, he is a new creation. This is the mind of God from the beginning of creation so that the END of this earth can be better than the BEGINNING according to Ecl. 7:8. Today, if you are reading this article and you are this kind of "ANY MAN", I give you a special invitation to open your heart to God and come to Christ so you can become a NEW CREATURE. Being in Christ is the ONLY qualification you need to become a NEW CREATURE of God. According to Romans 1:20 above, God deposits his divine nature in you at the new creation or new birth and you become a new creature. You, if/when in Christ are the new creation of God of the end that shall be better than the beginning of creation. I'll like you to invite Jesus into your heart today, harden not your heart for today is the day of salvation. Turn from your old man of sins, believe Jesus Christ, confess him as Lord and Saviour and begin to live a NEW life in Christ Jesus because you are NEW CREATURE and new creatures don't live an old life and that is why the scripture says, old things are gone and ALL things are NEW, why? because you are a NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST JESUS. (I will continue from verse two) |

k2039: When eve joined him nkoLike I said....the word "church" wasn't used on them. I understand what you're saying...in terms of fellowship with God, right? But the bible didn't use the word "church" on them in Eden. Besides, Church means "called out". If you say it started in Eden, then we can ask, where was Adam and Eve "called out" from......the ground ![]() |
k2039: Goshen,so what was Adam doing in the garden of edenThe word "church" wasn't used on Adam in his fellowship with God......That is what the puzzle is all about. You can fellowship with one another without being in an "assembly of God's people" just like you, me and others on this forum are doing without gathering together. Church means the "called out". There must be a calling out. In the case of OT church, they were "called out" of physical Egypt while in our NT, we are "called out" of the world, out of darkness into light etc. |

King James 2000 Bible (©2003) And why have you brought up the congregation of the LORD into this wilderness, that we and our cattle should die there? |

k2039: Paul pointed to the day of Pentecost as the beginning of the Church. There is OT Church and there is NT church BUT church in a "general sense" started in the OT. What happened in NT day of Pentecost was "empowerment and fulfillment" of the coming of the Holy Ghost, not that the church started at Pentecost, even the NT church didn't conceive at Pentecost, it was only birth at Pentecost. For there to be a birthing, there is need for conception first. |
Here is the ANSWER in the bible verse: This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: Acts 7:38 Kjv Moses was with our ancestors, the assembly of God's people in the wilderness, when the angel spoke to him at Mount Sinai. And there Moses received life-giving words to pass on to us. NLT This is he that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received living oracles to give unto us: ERV one more scripture coming |
