Tgirl4real: I didn't see this b4 posting. Ermm...if u can nominate 3, why can't we nominate 3.Wetin dey do u sef? Why you no follow read suggestions going on? It wasn't me that suggested those 3 names. It was Candour who suggested we start start nominations with people who have shown interest and those are the 3 people who have shown interest, so they automatically nominated. No lemme flog you o. ![]() |
DrummaBoy: OK.It's started already. We begin automatically with the 3 people who showed interest, Goshen360: Nominated for guest speaker at the 2014 Grace Convention for now are:And CONTINUE.... Goshen360: N.B: I suggest each audience can also nominate one but not more than two speakers. |
Candour: @Goshen and DrummaBoy, I will suggest you start with those who have indicated interest already. I think yooguyz, ihedinobi and anony have indicated interest.Okay, I agree to the good suggestion. Nominated for guest speaker at the 2014 Grace Convention for now are: 1. Yooguyz 2. Ihedinobi2 3. Anony N.B: I suggest each audience can also nominate one but not more than two speakers. So, we can then collectively select those with highest number of nominations, if we have more like Candour said, we either do more days and more topics or go by those who show interest because someone can be nominated but not interested |
DrummaBoy: I don't get you Goshen. Are you saying it won't work?I'm not saying it won't work. Actually, I will be easier and work perfectly but my concern is, we're not gonna know who clicked like on who unlike knowing by mentioning the nine people each moniker is nominating. For instance, if I'm to nominate 9 speakers from your updated list, I will verbally quote those 9 unlike me clicking for 9 people in disguised. |
Tgirl4real: Sounds good. You sef, na wah for you joor. Longest time. I know forget that stuff from that thread I promised o. Just a little demand from me from families for now but I should be good this coming month. Concerning the theme, it's just a general theme but different topics will come up under it. It just mean, the teachers by the Spirit will be teaching to OPEN the eyes of them that sit in darkness THANSFERING them (audience) from darkness unto the glorious light of the gospel of Grace. As simple as that. Lolz ![]() |
Bidam: Yes in principle, if you understand what it means that let him that thinks he stand take heed lest he falls..You will guard your heart with all DILIGENCE. The ark of safety is your relationship with God.Is it intact or are u in a backslidden state? Or lets look at it also from this angle since you love interpreting things literally..What does Paul mean when he said to Present your bodies as living sacrifices unto God? Is Paul telling you to offer yourself as a LITERAL SACRIFICE in Romans 12:1? ![]() Every time you and I have discussion, I often laugh at some things you say, not as mockery but for fun. Yes, Paul, the meant literal sacrifice and that literal sacrifice is YOUR BODY....bring YOURSELF as a living (not dead) sacrifice unto God. Mind you, this living doesn't mean something just breathing because There're many breathing but dead. In every sacrifice, there must be something literally presented. In this case, YOUR BODY. Bidam: And what is the so called apostolic doctrine that you always wave as a mantraa here? Did the Apostles not seek principles from OT scriptures for our application today? Is 2 timothy 3:16 not in your bible? The Apostolic doctrines is what the early churches continued in. You can learn the acts and dealings of God in the old testament but you don't establish doctrines with that for Christians. Why? The finished works of Christ and the cross brought about a change, a great change. Also, you getting 2 timothy 3:16 too dogmatic. Yes, apostles quoted old testament but what are they teaching by quoting it? To establish old testament as doctrine? Or to interpret the old in the light of the revelation of Christ? Which one? |
frosbel: Hmm, thats strange.I can help you get better picture and or understanding your quest or help you get confused the more or make it really complex.....depending on your motives for starting the thread in the first place. ![]() |
frosbel: Stop playing gymnastics with me Bro , you are not dealing with a Novice here, its dangerous to start lying when God has not asked you to.Get a concordance, pick two or three verses stating father or Father and follow the different meanings. See if your interpretation will not change. Okay, let's do one exercise here: Abraham is the father of them or us who are of faith. Question: what does father mean here? That Abraham gave birth to YOUR faith or to YOU as a person? ![]() |
DrummaBoy: It's fine with me GoshenAs for the number of likes, I think people can just login and click like for anybody without us knowing who's clicking like for who even though all of the suggested speakers are our choices but we want to know who nominates who and who. That's just my opinion\suggestion. As per the topics, I think we should have contributed or suggested topics from audience and work with it but if none, we can do topics to the 9 teachers, one topic for each. In all, let wait one or two days more and get more contributions and see how we go from there. |
Bidam: The HEART IS WHAT MATTERS TO GOD It doesnt matter whether na Old or New covenant..the principle still applies..kai.....Let's follow same logic above concerning the heart. Noah, had the willing heart to obey God to build the ark. Should we Christians today also build ark even when we're not commanded but have the willing heart? It is best to continue in the Apostolic doctrines for the church. Get this simple truth - apostles never taught tithes to the church and going beyond Apostolic message is violation to mandate of Christ. |
I will like us to suggest how many speakers we want to have, in relation to how many days and that will determine how many topics we base teachings on. I suggest we do 3 days, 3 sessions each day (morning, noon and evening) and that makes 9 teachers. This is my suggestion. |
ayoku777: So true.A salute to you, God's general. Grace and truth be multiplied unto you. |
Op, e be like say you wan give us work to do with this title of the thread, it's misleading title. However, give me some time, I will respond, slowly but surely to all your queries therein. |
truthislight: Frosbel will not get into trouble if he respects the bible.Plus, recently, I also began to slow down and RE STUDY the bible, checking everything i was ever taught as a young christian and checking word meanings in context. Also, since the new testament fulfilled the old, i use the new to interpret d old, giving the old proper light and understanding. This is what I expect or believe Christians should be doing, rightly dividing the word, not just mixture and mixed bags teachings that's not supposed to be in the church today. |
truthislight: Frosbel will not get into trouble if he respects the bible.True ![]() |
See as 3 of us answered frosbel same thing. I see frosbel getting in trouble with this thread. .... ![]() |
frosbel: ^^^^Because the seed of man, first Adam is corrupted. If Joseph has contributed, human race is still in a mess just like first Adam. Christ was called 2nd Adam, not because he was produced by first Adam or carry the corruptible nature but because he came to UNDO what was done by the first Adam. |

I have stated that father ( with lower case f) has many uses within context. Also, Father (upper case F) has many uses within context and usually refer to Godhead. Follow contextual uses and word meaning from concordance or lexicon. I thought you started using these two materials before. Go back and look carefully again putting everything in proper perspectives. You will get it. |
Ubenedictus: correct me if i am wrong, but from where i am siting the topic is justification. Transfer from darkness to light by faith, plus forgiveness and purification. It's just a general theme. We should have suggested topics relating to what you mentioned above. |

You should have read the next verse telling you Christ response who his true father is. Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" Answering to the 2nd question, Jesus told her who his real father is. He knows who his father his even at age of 12, not to talk of when grown man. 2. Philip was quoting the law just as Luke did. The context said it....according to the law of Moses. 3. We used to recognize Christ according to the flesh, but we no longer do so. |
@ frosbel, Let's flip to the other side of the coin to better help you in this matter. 1. The bible has many places it records calling Mary the mother of Jesus Christ. Can you show us where people called Joseph the father of Jesus Christ? 2. If people called Joseph the father of Jesus, can you show us where Christ testified to such, accepting Joseph as his father? |
frosbel: 1. Jesus was to come from the seed of David which means from the lineage of his fleshly descendants ,^ New Living Translation Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah. English Standard Version and Jacob the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ. New American Standard Bible Jacob was the father of Joseph the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called the Messiah. King James Bible And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ. Matthew 1:16 Here the genealogy says that "Jacob begot Joseph" but Luke 3:23 says, "Joseph, the son of Heli" Many people say or think just like you that it is contradictory. NO!!! It is complimentary. One is giving more light to the other so we can further understand what happened. Luke's record was "according to law" (a literal translation of "so it was thought" in Luke 3:23), indicating that Joseph was not actually (biological) the son of Heli but was reckoned his son according to the law. Joseph was the son-in-law of Heli, Mary's father. This is a law case according to Num. 27:1-8 and 36:1-12, in which a regulation was made by God that if any parents had only daughters as heirs, the inheritance would go to the daughters, who would then have to marry a man of their own tribe in order to keep their inheritance within that tribe. Even such a regulation in the Old Testament is related to the genealogy of Christ, showing that all Scripture is a record of Christ. Also, the scripture above - It does not say, "Joseph begot Jesus," which is similar to what is said of all the foregoing persons; it says, "Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus." Jesus was born of Mary, and not of Joseph, since it was prophesied that Christ would be the seed of the woman and would be born of a virgin (Gen. 3:15; Isa. 7:14). Christ could not have been born of Joseph because Joseph was a man and a descendant of Jeconiah, none of whose descendants could inherit the throne of David (Jer. 22:28-30) which if that happens renders Romans 1:3 null & void. However, Mary was a virgin (one who had not had sex.ual intercourse with a man according to Luke 1:34 and a descendant of David (Luke 1:27, 31-32); as such, she was the right person of whom Christ should be born. The marriage of Joseph and Mary brought Joseph into relationship with Christ and united into one the two lines of Christ's genealogy for the bringing in of Christ. The entire geneology in Matthew's account and Luke's taken together under proper study shows that the generation of Jesus Christ begins from God and continues until it reaches Jesus. It proceeds from God to Adam, from Adam to Abraham, from Abraham through Isaac and Jacob, and on to David. After David it divides into two lines, the first running from Nathan to Mary and the second from Solomon to Joseph. Eventually, these two lines are brought together by the marriage of Mary and Joseph, to bring in Jesus Christ. (b) if God was his father, how could this have been fulfilled. ^ Again, it could be fulfilled from the followings: 1. Example of the Ezekiel dry bone - great armies arose from dry bones. 2. The Power of the Spirit of God - as in action in creation from nothing. New International Version The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 3. It is reported the "Son of God" from a per-knowledge of His resurrection. He (Christ) actually is the Son of God by the resurrection, not by birth. New International Version and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord. New Living Translation and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 1:4 It's like if I'm giving an account of an event to you, I already have a knowledge of such event even when I use some terms and definitions. At birth, he is called I\Emmanuel and\or Jesus (Luke 1:31, Matthew 1:21, 23) but he is the Son of God, according to power of the Spirit of Holiness at resurrection, not at birth. What may confuse you is "Fatherhood". Father also mean originator and some more. . . . to be continue. Going to give my head some sleep. |
Okay, first, to everyone calling out frosbel for asking or questioning somethings in the bible. You people should understand that, questioning things in the bible is one aspect of getting yourself rooted in the knowledge of truth, provided the motives are right. 2. The answer to the questions are somehow long, for me, if I will explain in detail with bible verses but I'ma go sleep first because I don work since morning na to come see frosbel set long exam for us here. but before I go sleep, lemme do few of the questions and I might explain the rest later. frosbel: It has often been said that Mary conceived without a Man and gave birth to Jesus, but I am beginning to doubt certain parts of this story for the following reasons :^ Why do you have to doubt this? Haven't you read, God doing a miracle (occurrence that transcend natural laws) e.g, great armies coming out of a dry bone with the Ezekiel 37. The birth of Christ is the same, it is a sign, not a like us that is born by natural laws. Also, it is a replicate of the first Adam - so Christ was called the second or last Adam. How? Adam is the only natural man not born of a woman and also, Eve was the only woman not born like other women - A replicate of the church, born out of Christ. Are you following? ![]() So, the birth of Christ should not be a doubt. This is a sign birth. New International Version Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. Isaiah 7:14 What is the sign that the Lord himself will give? It is that, The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. . Now, ask yourself how can a virgin be pregnant if is not a sign but naturally, a man will do the job with the virgin. Let no man like Obadiah777 deceive you that Joseph impregnated Mary. Listen to Mary herself and conversation between her and the Spirit, New American Standard Bible Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" King James Bible Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? Holman Christian Standard Bible Mary asked the angel, "How can this be, since I have not been intimate with a man?" International Standard Version Mary asked the angel, "How can this happen, since I have not had relations with a man?" So, the person said, man neva do the thing with her and Holy Spirit said she will be pregnant. Her thought is natural way of having children but God had a sign way of making a virgin conceive. I believe you know the rest of the reply and story, let us move on. |
Image123: i really should ignore your madness my long time friend, but for the benefit of those that have ears to hear.First, I don't care about the word "madness". It's not what you're called but what you answer to. I hear that everyday here in the States. So, don't worry about that. Just by the way. 2. The word "fear" carries two meaning in the old and new testament. That's why I asked you what you meant by fear. But what did you do? You went on and on and religiously quoting long scriptures that doesn't make any meaning because you combined both the scriptures that talked about fear as with "terror" and the ones that talked about fear as with "reverence" to God. This is how you've living with mixtures and I don't know the the two people that liked your religious quoting without even understanding what is what in those scriptures you quoted. 3. I have encouraged you as a brother to grow in the word but you seems to want to remain religious and glued to some old traditions handed down to you but you've refused to double check everything you're taught when you were a young Christian. 4. Pick each of those long scriptures again you quoted and rightly divide the word - put fear that talked about terror, as with events that happened and put fear that is in relation to our relationship with God - reverence in their place and each of those scriptures will be clear to you. 5. You should have just ignored my statement instead of the long scripture you quoted religiously that doesn't make a meaning. I can go on and on and pick each of the scriptures you quoted and put them in right use of the word fear and it will make Holy Ghost sense to you, me and many reading but I will just pick out fews to buttress what I'm communicating to you. Take a look, Luke 1:50 Amplified Bible (AMP) 50 And His mercy (His compassion and kindness toward the miserable and afflicted) is on those who fear Him with godly reverence, from generation to generation and age to age. Luke 1:50. Expanded Bible (EXB) 50 ·God will show his mercy [L His mercy is/continues] ·forever and ever [L to generations and generations] to those who ·worship and serve [L fear; reverence] him [Ps. 103:17]. Acts 2:43. Amplified Bible (AMP) 43 And a sense of awe (reverential fear) came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were performed through the apostles (the special messengers). Acts 2:43. Expanded Bible (EXB) 43 The apostles were doing many miracles and signs, and ·everyone [every soul] felt great ·respect [fear; awe; Prov. 1:7] for God. Ephesians 5:21. Expanded Bible (EXB) Wives and Husbands 21 ·Yield [Submit; Be subject; L …yielding/submitting; C grammatically linked to the previous sentence, and so part of being filled with the Spirit] to each other out of ·reverence [respect; fear; awe] for Christ. Ephesians 5:21. Amplified Bible (AMP) 21 Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). Lemme tell you something, when it relates to God as concerning our relationship with God, it is always "reverence" but you're too much into KJV so you just think our relationship with God is based on terror and shivering. Listen, if God wants us to fear him as in terrific fear & shivering, why did He cast out the spirit of fear and gave us perfect love and we may come to the throne of Grace with boldness? God's perfect love cast out fear and God had not given us the spirit of fear - 2 Timothy 1:7 |
Our theme for the 2014 Grace Convention is: Ephphatha - Be opened King James Bible And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. Mark 7:34 Acts 26:17-18 Amplified Bible (AMP) 17 [a]Choosing you out [selecting you for Myself] and [b]delivering you from among this [Jewish] people and the Gentiles to whom I am sending you—18 To open their eyes that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may thus receive forgiveness and release from their sins and a place and portion among those who are consecrated and purified by faith in Me. God, helping us, this will be the central focus of our topics and teachers. You're all blessed |
shdemidemi: ^^^before going into response to those apostles who heard or had palpable influences by the Holy Spirit, I will like to ask one question. ![]() |
OLAADEGBU: You should be the one explaining to us why you pick and choose offerings and leave out tithes in the NT.I have explained times without number, Ola that the new testament doesn't mention offerings as passing bowls round in the church gathering to collect money as we see today. You and Image123 keep using the old to teach the new testament doctrines. That's wrong!!! Not rightly dividing the word of truth. What we give in the church today is called "contributions", not offerings. |
StarBoard: To be fair, I think we should not really focus on RCCG. I brought up that issue because of the compulsion factor in the tithe that people like Image 123 are trying to cover up with sweet words.I understand the fact not to focus on RCCG but I also backup what you said, RCCG being an example of many churches that does the same thing. But truth be told, many churches follow RCCG example being the fact that, RCCG and leadership being respect and hence, they (RCCG) are only handing over traditions. Image123's been here for long and he can sugar-coat any false practices. He's been proven wrong many time without number but he chose to be stubborn on subjects like this. Also, I have problem (from the light of the word of God) with people using the old testament to justify our living under the new. How can people be taking perfection from people of old when without us, they are not complete\perfect for us whom Christ died for. 2. I also have problem people claiming or calling a man, "anointed man of God". They don't know they are claiming to be false Christ because that word, anointed is for Christ. So when Christ said, many false Christ will arise in the last days. What he's saying is, many false anointed ones will arise, claiming to be anointed one. |
I understand they're now singing "baba God pull over" in the church. I don't know where God is going that he has to pull over. The first day I heard that, I said to myself, which one be "baba God pull over" again o. Worldliness in the church of Christ....smh |
StarBoard: I attend the Redeemed Christian Church of God.Whenever I attack the false practices in the RCCG, people think I hate but no, I don't. I was also a member of RCCG and I see all kinds of falsehood in that gathering, running from leadership to the bottom. One of which you mentioned above. Someone might not even be joined together in wedding without evidence of tithing in RCCG, because daddy G.O will not join "robbers" in the house of God. Isn't that falsehood? And still, some of our brethren here will tell us not to call Adeboye out on this error just because he's "anointed" and\or he's always right. These generation of Christians must come to the knowledge of truth in Christ and be free from traditions of men. |
