The Apostolic doctrines is what the early churches continued in. You can learn the acts and dealings of God in the old testament but you don't establish doctrines with that for Christians. Why? The finished works of Christ and the cross brought about a change, a great change.

Also, you getting 2 timothy 3:16 too dogmatic. Yes, apostles quoted old testament but what are they teaching by quoting it? To establish old testament as doctrine? Or to interpret the old in the light of the revelation of Christ? Which one?

1. This is getting even more confusing, you guys have to take one stance on this matter. You trace Jesus's lineage through his Mother which means the seed of David was in his mother , however you also say that God planted seed into Mary and I ask you in what form was this seed.

2. It also means that Jesus cannot trace his ancestry back to David since he bore neither the seed of his mother Mary or Step Father Joseph. He bore Gods seed and hence is not a direct descendant of David , no ? Or since when did a MAN have 2 seeds ? A Person can only come from one seed , not two seeds.

3. But even at that, the bible says ALL are born in sin without distinction and hence Mary was a sinner. If you argue that Jesus came from the seed of Mary it means he also had the corruption of sin but if you say he had the seed of God to avoid this corruption then he was not a descendant of David through Mary. You cannot have it both ways.

Get a concordance, pick two or three verses stating father or Father and follow the different meanings. See if your interpretation will not change. Okay, let's do one exercise here:

Question: what does father mean here? That Abraham gave birth to YOUR faith or to YOU as a person?

Also, I have a feeling we should also come up with the topics. Leaving it to the audience might make it too open ended and we may not arrive at destination any time soon.

As for the number of likes, I think people can just login and click like for anybody without us knowing who's clicking like for who even though all of the suggested speakers are our choices but we want to know who nominates who and who. That's just my opinion\suggestion.

As per the topics, I think we should have contributed or suggested topics from audience and work with it but if none, we can do topics to the 9 teachers, one topic for each.

Let's follow same logic above concerning the heart. Noah, had the willing heart to obey God to build the ark. Should we Christians today also build ark even when we're not commanded but have the willing heart?

It is best to continue in the Apostolic doctrines for the church. Get this simple truth - apostles never taught tithes to the church and going beyond Apostolic message is violation to mandate of Christ.

I will like us to suggest how many speakers we want to have, in relation to how many days and that will determine how many topics we base teachings on.

I suggest we do 3 days, 3 sessions each day (morning, noon and evening) and that makes 9 teachers. This is my suggestion.

Also, since the new testament fulfilled the old, i use the new to interpret d old, giving the old proper light and understanding. This is what I expect or believe Christians should be doing, rightly dividing the word, not just mixture and mixed bags teachings that's not supposed to be in the church today.

Why did Jesus have to come from a virgin birth ?

Because the seed of man, first Adam is corrupted. If Joseph has contributed, human race is still in a mess just like first Adam. Christ was called 2nd Adam, not because he was produced by first Adam or carry the corruptible nature but because he came to UNDO what was done by the first Adam.

Here the genealogy says that "Jacob begot Joseph" but Luke 3:23 says, "Joseph, the son of Heli" Many people say or think just like you that it is contradictory. NO!!! It is complimentary. One is giving more light to the other so we can further understand what happened.

Luke's record was "according to law" (a literal translation of "so it was thought" in Luke 3:23), indicating that Joseph was not actually (biological) the son of Heli but was reckoned his son according to the law. Joseph was the son-in-law of Heli, Mary's father. This is a law case according to Num. 27:1-8 and 36:1-12, in which a regulation was made by God that if any parents had only daughters as heirs, the inheritance would go to the daughters, who would then have to marry a man of their own tribe in order to keep their inheritance within that tribe. Even such a regulation in the Old Testament is related to the genealogy of Christ, showing that all Scripture is a record of Christ.

Also, the scripture above - It does not say, "Joseph begot Jesus," which is similar to what is said of all the foregoing persons; it says, "Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus." I have explained times without number, Ola that the new testament doesn't mention offerings as passing bowls round in the church gathering to collect money as we see today. What we give in the church today is called "contributions", not offerings.

StarBoard: To be fair, I think we should not really focus on RCCG. I brought up that issue because of the compulsion factor in the tithe that people like Image 123 are trying to cover up with sweet words.
I think it should be a freewill decision to serve God in a unit, but to place a condition such as paying their tithe for you to be a worker is just plain wrong.

So how can Image 123 for example tell us that tithing as practiced today is a form of freewill giving?
