Don't be in a hurry to update your phone, the update for the 8.2 version is no longer available on the official page, likely because of reported bugs, wait for a better one.

Yea, was banned just over a month ago but didn't take it seriously, mailed the mod and ban was lifted late late that day.

Then issue is with sim, try and swap sims and see the outcome.

Bros, I just experienced it this afternoon. My conclusion is, if you're using WiFi, your network will indicate 4G else, others. My reason? there's no Etisalat 4G(no 4G network at all) where I de but I noticed 4G display when I connected to my Etisalat WiFi.

Its not an issue, you don't have 4G coverage in your location for Etisalat, if you like remove or disable the sim, by the time you connect to a wireless network, 4G will be displayed.

Its not an issue, it's like an error that should be fixed with an update, wireless networks are seen as 4G, its been like that with my note 4x.

Difference is in 4G band, but as long as you want to use Nigerian GSM network with it, both devices are exactly the same, go for any.

Even that list is not complete, devices as old as the Redmi 2 will most likely get the treat of miui 9, but take note, not all devices can get all the features.
