Indeed, we need to start reading and researching. Same way many think phone specs like large ram, screen size, mega pixel count, and large battery are the key specs to watch out for in phones, many think alike in other aspects of technology. Wait till you see people rushing to get large HD ready TVs grin

. I saw someone a few weeks back at MTN office saying, ' wetin dem dey use 4G do sef, dem just dey increase number dey add 'G ' on top, my 2G dey do everything wella'. This guy looked educated and was even educating some interested learners with his lecture grin

. I believe some persons were convinced not to bother swapping their sims for a 4G one.

That's because the videos are low resolution videos, and those other phones probably have lesser resolutions compared to your new phone. You can test by watching YouTube videos on your new phone, and set the resolution at 1080p. You should note that the higher the resolution, the more data will be consumed.
I have seen threads here on Nairaland where people complained that their Gotv was not as crisp on their new 4k Tv as it was on their old Sd/480p TVs. I also had a friend who complained of such some years back after upgrading from an HD Ready Tv (720p) to a full HD tv (1080p). In fact, he almost sold the new TV because he thought the new one was inferior grin

I noticed mine is not as optimal as it used to be. Im not sure if it's Ram or age that is worrying it.
I mostly experience this when I'm using Chrome, although I notice it slightly in other apps.
I used to think it was.
I used to think it was cookies and browser history clogging up but after numerously clearly cache and browser history, I don't think that's the culprit.

Pls is there something I can do to make my phone faster?

Download the latest rom and flash manually or do a factory reset.

Within the hours of about 4-6am. I can't use any Google app like Playstore, Gmail, maps, not tried YouTube though.

I browse with other apps with no issues at all.

WhatsApp, Instagram, Browser, YouTube. Don't think there's anything wrong here, if you use the mentioned apps regularly. For YouTube, you can decide to reduce the video quality to 144p if you can manage it. For WhatsApp, if you read /watch statuses, you should reduce it, especially videos.

EEA rom or Xiaomi.eu custom rom?. You should only download the EEA ROM if that's what you already have. If you want Xiaomi.eu rom, I hope you are aware you have to unlock bootloader and flash a custom recovery first?
