But a rich country can do that for a poorer neighbour as did Nigeria constructing a railway line to our poor neighbours Niger Rep. Maybe Algeria wants to play the big brothers. So they may not be bothered with how much they are spending since they just want to prove a point to Nigeria
Some of you are so gullible.

First Niger doesn't even have a transmission line from their north.

Also Algeria can't supply power to them for free.

Nigerian youths are so shameful, q single Google search of all Algeria news network will show you it's a lie.

We need a new name and new identity.

This is requirements for admission into Harvard Medical School:
https://meded.hms.harvard.edu/admissions-eligibility-requirements
The USA operates a very different system from any other countries.

Nigeria practice UK and Europe systems and we have direct medical school admissions unlike the USA.

Kindly confirm.

Also when you get into USA medical school you do basic medicine courses, you can verify.
Education / Re: Lecturers Who Are Not Doctors ‘should No Longer’ Teach Medical Students by Gr8amechi: 10:46am On Aug 06, 2023
Polchiz:

Young man, there is a reason why they are called Basic Medical Sciences. In the developed world that you made reference to, you have to obtain a degree in any of the basic medical sciences before you can be admitted to study Medicine or Surgery.
There is no where in the world where a medical student is trained by only physicians.

A Biochemistry/Physiology/Anatomy lecturer is not expected to lecture you until you graduate and become a licensed doctor.

The expectation and of course what is been done before doctors started exhibiting their insecure attitude is that, you learn the basics from 100 level to at least 300 level.

I am sure that the best medical doctor in your school was taught basic medical sciences by non-doctor lecturers.

You don't expect a physician to start teaching you the Biochemical bases for diabetes or the glycolytic pathway. It simply means you didn't learn the basics.

The doctor that lectured me physiology called a professor of Biochemistry his mentor.

Medical School is not an exclusive place for only doctors. One of you who share your idea is now a masters student in Biochemistry. He is always arguing that Biochemistry lecturers should not teach their students. However, the knowledge he is getting and which he intends to impact to medical students is coming from same Biochemistry lecturers.

Since you started using only doctors to lecture medical students, what has been your performance in international examination?

Can I have the deployment?

The professors of medicine who now lecture you Biochemistry/Physiology/Anatomy were taught this same courses by non-doctor lecturers. What an irony.

In conclusion, I am not a doctor and I don't desire to be one. I have doctors as friends and I respect them a lot.
Like I said get yourself educated and informed about a topic before your delve into what you don't know.

The developed country you referred to is only the USA, it's only the USA that operates medicine in the format you said.
In the USA, you first attend college or university to study any related science course, after which you now seek admission into medical school.
Now do you know that in USA Medical school they are also taught basic medical science?
Do you know that they are taught medical biochemistry, physiology, behavioural sciences and the rest?
This is why USMLE step one is basic sciences.

Get the points, for a medical doctor to lecture medical biochemistry he must first do a master and PhD in medical biochemistry, you don't carry a consultant physician to come and teach physiology if he doesn't major there.

Let me educate you further, while in medical school one of my lecturer in histology is a medical doctor, a PhD holder in anatomy, also has a fellowship in histopathology.
Hence he is both a histopathologist and anatomist, there is no way you who just studied anatomy and did PhD can understand the correlation of histology like he will.
Also I had a professor of neuroanatomy who first is a medical doctor before doing his master's and PhD.
Furthermore there is a lecturer who is a consultant gynecologist and also has his master and PhD in reproductive physiology, tell me how you can compare the knowledge impact of someone who is a specialist in fetomaternal medicine and also an authority in reproductive physiology to someone who just majored in physiology and never sees real life patients.?

Like I said again, get yourself informed.

No one will be brought to lecturer medical biochemistry just because he is a medical doctor.

For you to lecture in an of the nonclinical classes you must hold a master and PhD in that particular course and do loads of research.

The argument is can you compare a practicing doctor with real life experience who is into research to someone who doesn't see patients teaching same courses?
The clinical correlates will be miles apart.

When we got to clinical science many of the biochemistry that non doctors taught us were useless, their main focus is how to cram a structure that is useless, they don't understand the practical application of the clinical correlates.

There is a big difference between what's ideal which is the textbook stuff and what is obtained in clinical practice, textbooks teaches you in isolation but patients teaches you in real time, you can even see patients with multiple or complex metabolic syndrome with other things which you as a Jon doctor has never ever seen all your life, how can you even relate ?

From your epistle, it is obvious that you are still a student and in case you are not, I pity your patients.
Your write up is more of emotion than realities.
You could simply refute them.

You are not a medical doctor and have no clue what it means.

Kindly face and focus on your profession.

I still maintain, you can't compare being trained by a person practicing the profession to someone who has no idea what the profession is about,
Take your time and educate yourself about medicine and clinical practice it will help heal you.

Beef?
How much is the salary of a Doctor?
The title you have, a PhD holder also has it.
I am a brewer (Manager) in one of the breweries in Nigeria. I studied Biochemistry up to Master's level and my dissertation was on hypertension.
I was in the hospital for check up and the Doctor was shocked when we started discussing hypertension. With all due respect, his knowledge is shallow.
Doctors are fast becoming jack of all trades and master of none. And they do this out of pride. They want to have the final say in every health issues.
In every profession, there is division of labour. As a biochemist, a ventrinary Doctor taught me physiology, a pharmacist taught me Biostatistics and of course a Chemist taught me chemistry till my final year. I respect every profession and I am willing to learn from anybody.
How can a Doctor combine the challenges of Clinical practice and Lecturing/Research?
There is this pride in every medical student and they believe nobody is more intelligent than them and therefore cannot teach them. This is why they fail.
Well, they are only god in the hospital. We don't even know that they exist here.
Your response is that of ignorance.

Let me enlighten you.

First the doctor you met and was educating him or her would like be a young general practitioner, try and meet a cardiologist or even a physician registrar let's see if you would educate him.

Secondly for the statement you made about how to combine research and lecturing and clinical practice, this is another error or rather ignorance.
Medicine is very broad and one can combine both clinical practice, research and lecturing depending on the field.

Let me ask, would a surgeon who is actively performing surgeries be a better fit to research and teach new methods of surgery or someone who doesn't even know how the OR looks like?

Also do you know that one can be a medical doctor and specialise in clinical pharmacology?

I will urge you to take a few time and Google and see the vast areas a doctor can specialise.

For the issue of lecturing, the thing is you guys have very low self-esteem and take everything and anything about doctors too personal.

If I ask you, would it be better for a practicing civil engineer to teach civil engineering or someone who has never been to the field?

Imagine going to law school and being taught by people who never saw the four walls of the court.

Nigeria educational system is thrash today because we don't engage professionals to teach their field this end up providing just academic graduates without any real life applications.

Imagine if someone studying economics is actually being taught by a practicing economics, you would learn real life applications rather than textbook stuff.

My brother, keep your hate and disdain for doctors.

We all should be pushing for professionals to teach and train professionals.

There is no way even a professor of biochemist can understand the clinical application of kreb cycle without having a first hand experience or management.

Family / Re: Genotype Issue. Please Be Rational ( I Am Not A Religious Person) by Gr8amechi: 2:05am On Jul 10, 2023
Bolt458:
I am not writing this for religious people to come with their funny talks, I am just putting this out here to hear from people who might have tried this methods or who heard about this methods and still proceeded or did not. I want to hear your experience. I have been dating someone for 5 years now, it happened that I began to see her as someone I would want to spend my life with. Last year we did our genotype test and we were both AS. Now , I know some of you will say this should be the first thing you ask when you meet someone but c’mon, would you say people in university that are dating now, would ask their sef that question? That theory is only feasible when you are single and ready to get married and want to start a new relationship, then you can always ask, but we all know some of our relationships started when we no Dey even see marriage in the nearest future, all of a sudden you just see them as the right person and you take the bold step. Now, I had to meet my family doctor here in Canada, I explained to him my current situation and he referred me to a GENETIC COUNSELOR. I am trying to take the necessary steps cause I am not ready to bring in a child with Sickle cell to this world, and I am not leaving anything to faith. A fone appointment was set with the counselor and we spoke at length. She told me that in every foetus, there is a 25% chance that we can get an SS child. Now , how do we mitigate this percentage to the barest minimum I asked as I am not even ready to bring in a sickler to this world. She gave me three options, I would rather say two because the last involves test when the baby comes, and that is out of the question.

Option 1:
A) CVS: They take a sample of the fluid in the womb through her vagina, at 12 weeks to test, if it’s good then fine, if not we have to terminate.

OR

B) At 16 weeks, they take the fluid using a needle directly from her womb, and if it’s SS , they terminate. Both procedures are cover by the government and we don’t need to pay a dime.

Now, she assured me that abortion is a very safe procedure if done properly, and it is even a bigger risk that one can die from a penicillin injection or carrying a pregnancy to term than any harm during an abortion.I know many people would come here and say abortion is this and that but let us be frank to ourselves. If you were told that the child in your womb would have cerebral palsy, or Down syndrome or a neurological disorder, would you still keep that pregnancy? Is there a 100% assurance that two AA people would give birth to a healthy baby? I have come to a realization that pregnancy is just a risk that people take, cus you really don’t know how your child would turn out.

Option 2:
PGD. This is just like IVF, where they would select the genotype before they insert back to the womb. She told me the government doesn’t cover this, and it could cost between $10K- $40k. However she mentioned, just like IVf, it is not guaranteed as it can fail and your money is gone.

I discussed this with my girl in Nigeria and she said she was fine with option 1a. I then asked her, that if the first, second are SS would she still remove it. She accepted. I would not lie to you, this girl is everything I want in a woman. I am not just looking at just love because I know love fades with time, but she is a really nice person, and has a good character. She has always been like this from my days in Nigeria because I was with her before I moved outside. Now after finding out our genotype, I tried to get into a relationship with AA. The first one Dey nigeria, she is a nice person, beautiful, but I just didn’t like her or feel attracted to her. She got tire and we just free ourselves, the second one is here in Canada, I just don’t like this one . Please note, I never slept with any of these ladies because I feel it’s not fair.

Now my question is for those who knew all this and still proceeded, how did it work out for you?

I repeat, don’t come here to tell me about how abortion is this and dat. Cus I know if they tell any of you that your child would be abnormal, 90% of you will go for the abortion
I love your courage and this is what we should be talking about not those talks of not marrying.

So back to the matter, from a medical point of view I would advise you to do selective IVF, the good think about this is, this procedures are available in Nigeria and far cheaper than Canada, meaning you could marry your girl and try the IVF here in Nigeria.

Also the first options are very very possible and you both can exploit it.

In summary, if you see her as a wife you want don't allow genotype dissolve it.

Let me ask this, what if both of you were AA and after marriage she was unable to get pregnant will you not opt for IVF?

Oboy here we go again

It's about to go down... Accounting is a noble profession but appointing an accountant as a minister of finance shows this people don't know anything about economics what so ever

The minister of finance is the chief economic development policy formulator of the country...
It has little or nothing to do with accounting

A minister of finance should be minimum a PhD holder with 10 years minimum experience in a policy formulation and vast knowledge and experience in macro developmental economics

This is why Buhari failed , accountant as CBN Governor with mere MBA as highest qualification and an accountant as minister of finance again with MBA as highest qualification

Banking is micro economics, minister of finance is macro economics they are not similar at all...

It's like making a Med lab scientist a CMD of a general Hospital

It's about to go down
I quite agree with you.

Though an accountant with vast knowledge in finance and policy can manage the finance ministry.

But clearly I hope we can pass a bill to the NASS so that every CBN governor must be someone with a macro economics background.

This style of bringing someone from the banking industry to head the CBN has been counter productive.

I know about the US situation and it's totally different from that of Nigeria. You're very correct about the colonial legacy of our military. It is for that reason I don't think the US style will work with us. The battle for US Independence was fought by farmers and peasants and by extension, that's why every American is allowed to bear arms. It is unlike here where bearing arms is a privilege reserved for a few. It is for these basic reasons that a bloody civilian can't just head the army in Nigeria and most other African countries.
And these privileges were because of colonial era where only the colonial masters had those rights.

Like I always postulate, Africa countries don't have independence yet, they just having a black neocolonialism.

We can't make progress going this way.

We have to address the root cause of the problem so the police or military will no longer see civilians as their slave.

Neither do the masses need to continue to feel that it's "us against them"

Tinubu does not have the political capital to perform those reforms you highlighted.

The military are not petroleum marketers or NLC you can intimidate with bluster.

In the kyn US you're talking up, the Pentagon failed its fifth consecutive audit in November 2022. Trillions of dollars unaccounted for.

They've not given birth to the POTUS, Senator, FBI/CIA Director, civil servant or activist that will so much as make a murmur about it.

If the military says they can't work with an NSA who's a former police officer, that is final.

Under different circumstances, say if we have a deliberately weakened military as is customary in the Middle East or the security situation isn't terse, then you could retire a bunch of senior officers and let ambition and greed create infighting amongst the top echelon. Then sneak in your appointee.

But as things stand, whatever the military wants it gets. Reform will only be tolerated from someone with significantly more cachet than the "I won with 8m votes" crooner.

Everyone create moats in Nigeria for self-preservation. Only doctors can be Ministers of Health and chief administrative officers of hospitals. Petroleum Minister must be from the SS. And many other norms that must be upheld.

-Lord

This is not impossible and like you said, hope you also note there is a secretary of defense.

A president can achieve what ever he wants to achieve if he is strategic and tactical.

You don't need to change so much as humans naturally are resistant to change but I can tell you, you can initiate changes and people will not really know.

The position of the NSA shouldn't be exclusively the general, it should be about merit because that's the most sensitive position.

A military general or colonel can get it if the person has background in intelligence.

But it's should not be just because he is a general.

You think a 4-Star General as CDS for example will like to take orders from a former AIG?.. they put their life into their work so regard them at least.
This is the mentality we have to kill, is the president a 4 star general?

Like I said, these reforms can't be sudden to avoid a coup but this is where we should be aiming at.

First you can't plot a coup or overthrown the president when you don't have access to the president.

The reason there are lot of coup in Africa is because all our president have their direct security from the army.

Also have you ever wondered why no other military other than the army has ever successfully carried out a coup?

To stop coup you must unbundled the military.

Keep them very far from the seat of power, Kaduna is Nigerian "Arsenal" move troups out of Abuja.

Keep only the chiefs and a few other top officers in Abuja.

Revamp the military which is the way to go.

Ideas everywhere...

Nigerians and state police...a state police system will certainly worsen things for Nigeria.

With unchecked tendencies of state governors, we shouldn't be talking of state police.

We are even yet to have practical independence of the judiciary and legislature in the states, even at the center; and you're talking about handing over our security to states.

Everything isn't about USA. The USA isn't among the safest place in the world. There is no law that prevents states from setting up community security systems to support the current system.

The Ebubeagus and Amotekuns that were created, how well have they been funded and harnessed to improve national security? You talk of state police when governors are still protesting payment of N30,000 minimum wage? When primary and secondary healthcare are still at sorry states?

I think you are completely wrong, I sited USA because of my references to the military but let me go further.

Even India and many other countries practice state police and you could ask me to elaborate on my proposal.

First create two types of police forces.
1. State police who will be purely those on plain black or black and blue, have agents and cop as their members.
Agents work on private undercover investigation and the cops work on daily to day.
The state police would be barred from using automatic fire riffle and also the constitution provides for criteria to federalised the state police in times of an insurrection or an abuse by the state government.

2. Rapid response force or the commando or the mobile force which ever name we may choose to call them they will be the SWAT team of the police and will be federal police who are situated in every states but do not involve in maintain laws and order, they are only invited when maximum force is required, they use only automatic fire riffles and are trained for maximum combat almost similar to the military but not exactly as the military and only deployed with the approval of the federal government.

3. Put the police under the office of the attorney general of the state and federation and separate this office from that of the commissioner or minister of justice.
The position of the attorney general should be contested and candidate should be voted in by the assembly.

Here the prosecution have lesser effect as the attorney isn't an appointee of the executive both at state and federal level.

To be fair, they're right. An ex-policeman cannot head a body that every security agency answers to. However, Tinubu must do well to appoint a southern Christian veteran as NSA boss. There seem to be this sympathy for insurgents that pervades that office. Let's have a Southern Christian this time.
This idea doesn't make any sense.
If we must advert any future coup we must adopt the USA system, the leadership must be demilitarised.

The position of NSA isn't a war position it's a tactical and a very intelligent position, being a military person doesn't even make you more suitable to advice the president on issues of national security threat than a civilian who is a security expert.

Tinubu must redesign our military to be similar to the USA.

Pull military out of Abuja and raise DSS to become the highest security agency in the country.

For me the NSA should even be coming from DSS or NIA.

being a military general doesn't make you an expert in security matters, you need to see some of them speak

We have had military general as NSA back to back for over 10 years how has our security fared?

The military are trained for maximum force.

If I were the president I will reorganized the security council.

Each military unit will have a secretary which the military top chief reports to.

Have a NSA from a top intelligence unit.

Revamp DSS to focus on protection of the president and vvip personalities alone.

Reorganize police and turn the current police structure into state police.

Collapse the civil defense into state police.

Then established a federal intelligence agency which will be responsible for intelligence gathering and investigation of high profile cases, cyber crimes etc.

Unit custom and immigration into federal board guard.

Remove military completely from Abuja and the only people who should have access to the president should be civilians.

Revamp our laws to bar the military from having any dealings with any civilian and only to be used for maximum aggressive and force enemies.

In the USA, their chief of army reports directly to he secretary of the army who is a bloody civilian.

This mentality in Africa that military can't take orders from civilians is why there are lot of coup.

For us to get it right we must revamp our military and defense architecture, we must remove the military far from the capital and around the Presidency.

The NSA can be anybody, if the military can't respect of civilian NSA, how then can they respect a civilian president??

For me the person who should be appointed NSA should be from either DSS, NIA, MIA.

The position of NSA is very sensitive and something that requires maximum intelligence.

So this CV with MSC and PHD in Econs and top notch work experience is not qualified but a Tech guy with MBA is qualified. Does Tribalism run in DNAs or what exactly is wrong with you guys and support for medocrity?
Oga the most senior person takes over it's not by CV in civil service.
Who should be crying is Aisha and Adamu because they are months senior to the man made acting, they are not crying tribalism but you are here saying trash about someone who is the most junior.

The position is even in an acting capacity, don't be surprised if Obiora is even arrested in the next few days by DSS as he has close ties with Emefiele.

Until a substantive governor is appointed, you can't make claim about tribalism.

Besides working with IMF has no bearing to being appointed CBN governor.

The last two holders of the position are neither economist.

I for one I would hope the substantive governor is a person with economics background who would understand in details both micro and macro economics.

Until then, carry your tribal card about Obiora to somewhere else.

What is this one saying pls, you guys should say what you know please, even Godwin is not best suited as this guy.

Do you know the duties of a CB governor? Do you know the responsibilities of a CB? CB is the monetary institution of a country, not financial institution, you need someone who is grounded in monetary economics, reason why Soludo and Sanusi all performed better.

This guy, looking at his profile is very good, I can agree that he is not the most Senior, but he is the most qualified among them.

No wonder Nigeria economy is in shambles.
You don't know how government work go and learn.

Obiora became deputy governor in 2020, the other three became in 2018, they are his seniors.

He can't be appointed in acting capacity.

Tinubu may consider him or anyone when he wants to appoint a substantive CBN governor, go and read who was made acting when GEJ removed Sanusi.

Everything isn't emotional, the acting CBN governor can't do any shit, he is just temporary holding the seat for a substantive governor who could be Obiora or anybody.

Obiora is 2 years junior to all other deputy governor so Emefiele can't hand over to him after being suspended.

Pls
Aisha and Adamu (director of corporate service) were appointed same date.
Then Shonubi and then Obiora.

Among the 4 of them, Obiora is the only economist and the most qualified in terms of experience having represented Africa and even Europe at the IMF on economy matters
Shonubi is just a tech guy.
And again, anybody can have MBA.
I am also a tech guy and i planned having my MBA after I'm done with my MSC.
But we must say the truth
None of them is going to be made substantive governor.

You need to understand how it works, all the 4 were appointees of Emefiele, they worked with Emefiele.

I understand your point about him being an economist but he is the most junior he can't be appointed as acting.

When you suspend someone, the next inline acts in his stead until either investigation is concluded or a new substantive person is appointed.

Nigeria have hundreds of intelligent economists and I wouldn't want anyone who has anything to do with IMF or world bank to be appointed our CBN governor, the person will only be a stood for the powerful nations.

Our next CBN governor should be some of of Soludo similar background, an economist, with international and national pedigree but not necessarily IMF.

Dr. Kingsley Obiora resumed as a Deputy Governor in the Central Bank of Nigeria on 02 March, 2020. Prior to this, he was an Alternate Executive Director in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, USA. In this capacity, he was a member of the Executive Board, collectively responsible for conducting the daily operations of the IMF. He also assisted to represent the interests of 23 African Countries, including Nigeria, at the Board.

He first joined the IMF through the globally-competitive “Economist Program” in 2007 and worked in both the European Department as well as the Strategy, Policy and Review Department, whilst carrying out extensive work on exchange rate assessment, debt sustainability analyses, decoupling and spillovers, real sector analyses, as well as several reviews of Financial Sector Assessments. Prior to this, Dr. Obiora worked at the West African Monetary Institute in Accra, Ghana and the Centre for Econometric and Allied Research at the University of Ibadan.

While on secondment from the IMF, Dr. Obiora simultaneously served as Technical Adviser to the Nigeria’s National Economic Management Team as well as Special Assistant to the President Jonathan’s Chief Economic Adviser from October 2011 to May 2014. During this time, he played key roles in helping shape the country’s economic policies on several fronts, including on energy subsidies, power sector reform, measurement of job creation, architecture of development financing, diversification of the economy, oil price benchmarking in the budgetary process, regulatory framework for doing business, port reform, and asset-based economic mapping and modeling.

From June 2014 until July 2018, Dr. Obiora served as Special Adviser on Economic Matters to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). During this role, he contributed to the overall analytical and policy work of the CBN, bringing his extensive international and domestic economic experiences to bear in helping the Bank understand the ramifications of, and deal with spillovers from, the external shocks emanating from the significant drop in global oil prices. Dr. Obiora has a first degree from the University of Benin as well as Masters and Doctorate degrees in Economics from the University of Ibadan.

Tinubu overlooked this man(an economist, that have even held a top office in IMF) and Aisha Ahmad(a financial expert) to appoint a director of operations that is a mechanical engineer as CBN governor

Pure tribalism
It's saddened how some of you youths behave and react.

The most senior is Aisha and not even Obiora.
The person was appointed to hold the place as the most senior because Emefiele was suspended.

All the four deputy governor are going down.

A neutral person will be brought in.

Emefiele recruiter the 4 deputy governors and even this Obiora doesn't look to have what is needed.

The current Acting governor has an MBA, has over 30 years banking experience and has grown in banking, go and check his CV.

Nigerians must stop all these rubbish to grow.

That said, Nigeria needs a neutral Economist to come and sanitize the system, someone in CBN is part of the system, all the directors and governors must go

You are justifying rubbish

We have over 43 ministers, with 20 SAs and over 21 PS

When do we actually experience the Civil transformation we so desire
Same old fools
Same old pattern
Same old ways
I think your argument is flawed, Tinubu didn't appoint any minister yet.

Constitutionally he is mandated to appoint 36 ministers from each of the states plus FCT.

Also he has power to appoint a maximum of 25 SA.

Now note also that the designation of these positions differs, an SSA is equivalent to a minister in many ways.

Further, how many major sectors do we have in the economy?
20 SA isn't too big, the issue is they shouldn't be just media aide, if these aides are deployed to critical areas like tech, investment, mining, health security etc and he grants them unlimited access and listens to them, then it gives a great opportunity as those ministers will not be superly powerful as the president will have other opinions and not just those of the ministers.
Politics / Re: Tinubu Has Solution For Impact Of Subsidy Removal, Says Oshiomhole (Video) by Gr8amechi: 1:46pm On Jun 05, 2023
meum:
But GEJ didn’t have Abi? GEJ put measures in place before the proposed subsidy removal yet those in power today convened at Ojota to fight the same thing they rushed to implement. The difference is clear!

I am not against subsidy removal. I feel it was rushed. All in an attempt to appear presidential on Inauguration Day & may be deliver on an election promise I guess.

I believe a good leader is proactive rather than reactive. Measures should have been put in place to cushion the effect(s) of the removal. Whatever solution he has should have been in place at least to a certain level(while Nigerians await full implementation) before the announcement of the removal by end of June as planned for by the outgone administration. I believe government is a continuum much more one that is of course he same party.
You guys are funny, GEJ and Tinubu put nothing on ground before the removal.

Did GEJ increase wages?

All he did was SURE-P which was another great fraud.

The only thing that can cushion effects of subsidy removal includes:

1. Functional refineries more than one and give out license to import to multiple importers, this will float the market with products and create competition, also you disband association for importers.

2. Roll out a transportation master plan, where you revamp our current transportation system phasing out those dead buses and trucks and bringing in PPP where state and fg own 40% and private investors has 60%.
This will cushion the effect of subsidy removal on transportation and prevent rises in cost of food and overall prevent hyperinflation.

3. Improve on electricity and reduce duties on solar energy, further provide incentives for people willing to adopt solar energy, this will reduce the pressure on the national grid and also on petrol.

The truth is Nigeria is likened to a petrol economy majority of our Small and medium scale enterprises depends heavily on petrol.

Our transportation system is not organised so any increases in petrol in the name of subsidy will have ripple effects.

Both GEJ and Tinubu flopped.

What we need is efficiency not this very approach, subsidy removal require years of careful planning and infrastructure implementation.
Anything else is a mere knee-jerk reqction and it's not going to have any different effect.
