Mvici:

people's tradition sometimes matters, am just talking about after 30yrs in marriage, already have a child....what next will she be looking for when her child can still give her ground children, people's body and soul are different anyway especially when the man she marry was the only person that has gone down with her and maybe tradition and religion and what people will say
Indeed you talk like a child, is marriage all about children??

Marriage isn't about sex or children but for companionship.
It's nice that your mum doesn't want to remarry but that doesn't make your girlfriend bad, for her to take your mum thought on her makes her a true woman that has you at heart.

Is that how to do verification of certificate.. If apc was ready to do the right screening, shouldnt it had been contacting the issuing institution instead of just looking at certificate.. If it's by looking at paper certificate without verification from m the issuer, then someone can easily get an oluwole well crafted certificates and would have scaled through what apc did.. We have all gone to schools and we know how our certificates were verified that resulted in some people losing their admissions.. A party with Apc caliber should have known how to do the right thing and not politicize everyrhing
Why did he now go and correct it??
Why do we masses give unnecessary excuses for these leaders??
If you have an error in your documents is it your duty or that of your employer to go seek clarification??

If you think the error was insignificant why did you think he rushed to correct it before the deadline of his submission

Law is not straightforward so a party after suffering the fate of Bayelsa wouldn't want it repeated,

Obaseki could have done this long ago then everyone would have know that he was unjustly disqualified

they were both drunk and hence were unable to reason right. Have u ever stop to think that wat if it was the drunk lady that actually initiated the sex moves on the drunk guy? How will u judge that... Must the ladies always be the victims in situations like this? Do u believe a lady can rape a vulnerable guy? Wat if it was the lady that actually made the sexually moves without the guy's consent where the guy couldn't resist because he wasn't in his right frame of mind owing to the fact that he was drunk.... Wen I hear people trying to shift the drunk sexual act on the guy, it makes me sick in my stomach like they weren't both drunk.... Why should the guy be the one to think right and make the right decisions in a situation were both parties are drunk...
You see all these your emotions doesn't count.
If that girl gets a sound lawyer that guy is gone.

Read what the law said about rape, a woman can't rape a man by the law, she can only sexual abuse you.
The law is written to side with women in terms of rape.

When it comes to being drunk the law sees the man as the culprit because he uses strength to penetrate, if you are actually drunk you be lying down like a dead man not pounding a girl

You are right, coercion with fear and intimidation rules out the need for bruises and show of force

However such isn't applicable in this case
Brother this consent issue must be reviewed that's all.

Do you know even if she gives you consent, then you back start screwing and she says stop, do you know she can sue you if you didn't stop when she said stop??

Truth ehen if every lady open their rape case, most Nigerian men will be in jail that's why I always laugh at silly men who rush to take sides with rape accusers.

Fine rape is a crime so also is false accusations a crime.

The law should be reviewed and serious punishment should be melt out to anyone guilty of rape as well as false accusations of rape, both should have same punishment

A tenable medical evaluation report must show sign of force especially bruise in the ladies private part, do you honestly think that lady showed any form of resistance
Rape doesn't need to be forceful, try and read up what consent is, most times we just assume things.

A girl can keep quiet and you are done with sex and she files for rape on the account that she didn't resist you because she feared you would kill her if she did

Many cases like this gets thrown out of court every damn day..

I don't pity the foolish guy tho, but fact remains fact

And admitting to a court of law that you are in a romantic relationship would be twisted to consensual agreement

.
Brother being in a relationship is not consent, get that fact.

Outside Nigeria marriage is not even consent talk more of being in relationship

Bro, it seems you really don't understand the finer points of a rape case. There is a matter of premeditated rape. A guy can get the lady drunk and claim that he was infact drunk as a skunk. He can repeatedly rock the lady under the cloak of drunkenness.

There are cases where the guy has laced a sex date drug with the ladies drink and has had his way. The lady the next day has no recollection of what happened. That too can happen. So I'd like you to understand the context I am coming from.

It is the finer points here like how many bottles did he take. How many did she take? Was he actually drunk or was he faking? A forensic investigator can recreate these circumstances and extrapolate concrete evidence here. Finer points here can get the man into a sticky situation.

But I also agree that you do have a point there too but things can swing the other way.

But what impedes the case here are other circumstances. A second act of sex plus still living with the guy for a period of 4months while the guy sheltered and took care of her. Moreover, the guy sponsored her visa trip from Nigeria and back and took her on a date and these things happened. Under these contexts, guy, the lady is aggrieved and wants a pound of flesh. These I pointed out in my previous submissions.

In all, this is simply a case of a relationship gone wrong. It's just an act no big deal. Go your way if things don't work out.

Don't mind some of these guys they are all just emotional without knowing what the law says about rape.

Now for housing her isn't even an excuse because she can make a case that the guy kept him in his house on account she doesn't report the case, so that can even out the guy in more problem for trying to obstruct justice, let's remember this rape happened in UK ooo

Their laws are not same as ours and being a black that guy is gone

cool

He sponsored your visit Visa, lodged you in his house for 4 months , asked you out and you accepted yet call him a rapists

In 2020 rape now has new meaning

Even a Carpenter, farmer or Vulganiser would easily win this case

The key word in all rape case is "Consent" consent is defined as : agreement to do something

The guy's lawyer only needs to show the court how the lady's action was in "agreement" to the guy's action

*Witnesses that can testify to them being in a romantic relationship
*Chats and text showing they dated
*Pictures and Videos showing their romantic involvement

.
Whether they are in romantic relationship or not, consent is different from what you guys sometimes see it, this is why I always pity guys who are quick to pick sides with rape accusers.

This same doctor has been running his mouth on twitter since but can't keep what he preaches.

The law gives ladies too much power and if you check what the law really says rape is you would be very scared or having sex with any lady because she can change it for you

....Seems you are yet to understand how this village politics is played?
I don't want polygamy and even if I agree on the first condition, which is picking a wife from my community,I can't still be crowned while my father is alive. So they will still have to wait for a long time before they get a king because my father is not gonna die now.

First if they want you to be king, traditions are meant to be changed so if truly the gods choose you in their wisdom then you have to sit them down and tell them how you would want to run the town as the new sheriff.
1. A king doesn't need to marry from the community to be crowned, if they don't accept this then they should go.
2. You can create a position that's for your father and make him not how to you..

Lastly if none of these work, my brother you need to start serious church and start effective prayers because these village old men you can't trust them, those things that happen in Nollywood are real ooo

Or is there Lagos State government to longer isolating positive cases? If this is so, then what's the point in all the restricitons up till now??

There are so many things our government is not telling us.
Lagos don't have just one isolation centre, also currently most asymptomatic patients are not being isolated again because the isolation centres are overwhelmed

Romance / Re: My Girlfriend Threatened To Break Up If I Don't Marry Her Now by Gr8amechi: 5:41pm On Jun 17, 2020
mrfranky:
Please Mods help push this to front page i need more advise please...

Have been caught up in a difficult situation. I have been dating this my lovely girlfriend for more than a year now. She is beautiful, humble, kind and a good girl. She is from a good family too. The parents are not too rich just average and doing very well. They are 2 girls and 3 boys and the elder sis is more of a slay queen i.e so beautiful and refuses to marry so the mother is hoping on this my girl to settle down, always encouraging her to settle down.

Now I am 29 years and I really love this girl and she loves me more than i actually love her, always ready to do my biding. She is just 22 and I wish to marry her someday but my finances are low. I have met the father and he said he doesn't need anything from me only things for the kinsmen or whatever but my parents are the opposite. Infact my dad won't even entertain my thought of getting married now because despite am staying alone, i still get small stipends from him monthly so he knows am not financially independent.

To cut the long story short.. My girl is pregnant again after several abortions in the past and she is refusing to take pills. She wants to keep this one and is urging me to come pay her bride price so we can move in together. This was not my dream way of getting married. I don't have a problem with her keeping the child but I just cannot marry now with my monthly salary of 40k which am struggling to feed and pay bills.

Please I need advice.
Pls no insult I knw the abortion act is wrong n never intended for her to take in again but it keeps happening...

Help me please i dont want to lose this lovely princess because she promise to end the relationship if she has to take another pill.
First it baffles me how matured adults just get pregnant without planning for it.
Once you have a sure partner you plan to be having steady in protected sex with, it's no big deal walk into any family planning and get the appropriate one for both of, repeated abortions has lots of risk to her and you don't love her that's why it doesn't shake you to run and tell her to abort it.

Now she is not wrong if she is your sister will you let her continue aborting??
Be a Man, sit her down and set a specific plan for your new family, you don't need to have million but you need that billion dollars road map, both of you can sit down and map out what you want and how to get it...
Hustle and make it possible

Most Nigerian doctors are perverts. They ask all sorts of silly questions that aren't related to your ailment. It has even gone as far as medical students on ward round , postings or clerking in teaching hospitals. Small boys wey never grow hair for prick will begin to ask you the last time you had sex before they diagnose you with typhoid or malaria. It's worse if you visit a teaching hospital. You might be used for live practicals in front of medical students during ward rounds or osce exams. If you have a knowledge of the medical profession, you'd easily understand. Later in the day, you begin to hear medical students and even interns gisting about their experience in O/G ward round , female medical etc.
A doctor will diagnose you with malaria and when it's time to prescribe a drug,
We know certain drugs or administration aren't suitable for pregnant people but instead of the male doctor to simply ask if you're pregnant, he'll rather be asking for the last time you had sex and if you're clean shaven down there grin

Your post is quite misleading.
But first it's called a teaching hospital because it's used to train all level of doctors, secondly no question that you are asked is irrelevant you can take that to the bank.
No matter how silly a question is, there is a significance to it

Health / Re: Why A Strike By Resident Doctors In ESUT, Enugu Is Illegal by Gr8amechi: 9:06am On Apr 26, 2020
OEPHIUS:
ASSOCIATION OF RESIDENT DOCTORS (ARD) ESUT TEACHING HOSPITAL PARKLANE ENUGU, THREAT TO EMBARK ON STRIKE

By the provisions of Section 31 (6) (a) of the Trade Union Act, Cap. T14, LFN, 2004, as amended by the Trade Union (Amendment) Act, No. 17 of 2005, it is unlawful for any person, trade union or employee that engage in the provision of essential services to take part in a strike or lockout or engage in conduct in contemplation or furtherance of a strike or lockout.

Section 7 (1) (b) (iv) of the Trade Dispute (Essential Services) Act, Cap. T9, LFN, 2010 clearly define essential service as any service in connection with hospitals, the treatment of the sick and the prevention of disease.

The Resident Doctors of University College Teaching Hospital Parklane Enugu are engaged in rendering essential services within the contemplation of Section 48 (1) of the Trade Disputes Act, Cap. T8, LFN, 2004; Section 7 (1) (b) (iv) of the Trade Dispute (Essential Services) Act, Cap. T9, LFN, 2010 and 31 (6) (a) of the Trade Union Act, Cap. T14, LFN, 2004, as amended by the Trade Union (Amendment) Act, No. 17 of 2005. Consequently, they are not in law entitled to embark or threaten to embark on any strike.

In 2010, in SUIT NO. NIC/EN/16/2010; A-G ENUGU STATE V. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENT GENERAL AND DENTAL PRACTITIONERS (NAGMDP) AND ANOR, the National Industrial Court on the 20th of June, 2011 held that service in a hospital is essential service under the Nigerian Law.

Similarly, in NICN/EN/226/2013; UNIVERSITY COLLEGE TEACHING HOSPITAL BOARD V. NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF RESIDENT DOCTORS OF NIGERIA & 2 ORS, the National Industrial Court on the 23rd June, 2014 decided that the Resident Doctors are engaged in the provision of essential services and cannot take part in any strike, or engage in any conduct in contemplation or furtherance of any strike/industrial action.

Out of abundance of caution, when the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) ESUT Teaching Hospital Parklane Enugu, by a letter dated 28th day of February, 2020 threatened to embark on industrial action, the Enugu State Government in SUIT NO: NIC/EN/16/2020, ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT V. DR. EDOGA CHIME EMMANUEL & ANOR took our Originating Summons on the 2nd of March, 2020 for the court to determine whether in view of the extant laws and earlier decisions the Resident Doctors can embark on a strike action.

Following the Originating Summons, Motion Ex Parte and Motion on Notice filed and upon the hearing of the Motion Ex Parte, the National Industrial Court sitting in Enugu on 2nd March, 2020 issued an order restraining the Resident Doctors, ESUT Teaching Hospital Parklane Enugu from embarking on any strike pending the determination of the Motion on Notice. That order has been duly served on the representatives of the Resident Doctors and they have filed their response to the court processes served on them through their lawyer. That case is still pending in court and coming up for hearing on the 20th of May, 2020.

We, therefore, view with dismay the threat by the same Resident Doctors, ESUT Teaching Hospital Parklane Enugu to embark on strike in the face of this Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic, worst still when there have been decisions of court against such an action and subsisting order of injunction restraining the Resident Doctors, ESUT Teaching Hospital Parklane Enugu from embarking on strike/industrial action.

The threat to embark on strike made by the Resident Doctors, ESUT Teaching Hospital Parklane Enugu in the face of the subsisting order of a court of competent jurisdiction is unlawful and unjust. A subsisting Court order must be obeyed until it is set aside.

CONCERNED ENUGU STATE CITIZENS
It's illegal for them to down tools but it's not illegal for the governor to feed fat and refuse to pay then what's due them??

The way the public hate doctors is alarming, in face of this pandemic that several doctors has died already a governor would refuse to do it's constitutional job and someone who they pay petty amount would come and write trash that is for concerned citizens, total rubbish

Those symptoms the lady presented with are classical for covid19, if you mind go and read it up.

Now for the issues about getting card you don't blame the doctor but blame the administration, even doctors go through those stress of getting card before they are attended to.

There have been lots of times I approached top of hospital management even as a student to seek answers why we are the way we are but they always give silly response.
As a doctor employed by a hospital you can actually do very little, have you wondered why doctors abroad do better?
No rocket science they have an organised system, best would be if our system is worked up where when someone presents at the emergency they are attended to first before anything but both Nigerians and the government are wicked, I have seen cases where you would resuscitate someone render all first aid then when the person is fine the next is they run away with the hospital bill or they start putting stories.

Our best bet is for a proper massive functional health insurance scheme to become activated without which don't blame doctors for most of these things

You have no point!
Get some facts, the reason for this thread is to enlighten us all, in clinical training of doctors PhD is not required, in fellowship they do research and write dissertation, fellowship combines what PhD does and add clinical practical experience which the doctor needs to treat patients.

For doctors in basic medical sciences they need PhD

...a PhD has a requirement of carrying out a laboratory or field independent novel research with nothing less than a total of 20,000 word thesis of ur findings at the end of 4yrs......unless a doctor does this in their residency they should stop this nonsense
