I was an Adhoc INEC staff in the Area Council elections that held in Abuja earlier this year, and I can tell you that the BVAS has really undermined the powers of Governors and political touts from manipulating the process, no more Collation Officers moving around and transmitting thumb printed ballots to INEC offices (where they usually manipulate them on the way), this BVAS now gives exclusive powers to the PROs in each polling unit to send results upon completion of voting directly to INEC portal electronically, and where such results do not tally with the recorded "Registered voters" in such polling unit, the machine won't respond.
The earlier you realise that POWER NOW BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE WITH PVCs, RATHER THAN THE PEOPLE IN POWER, the better for you.
This is no dictatorship, and Wike cannot for example, be in all the polling units in Rivers states, his so called boys spread all across CANNOT force the voters to vote against their wish, of course they can share money (vote buying is their only resort now but CBN cash withdrawal policy will greatly affect that too) and intimidate voters, but las las it is secret balloting!!!

Good morning fellow guest of this noble forum, I will be trying to clear some misconceptions especially on the North East in respect to 2023.

The North East has 6 states which includes
1. Adamawa
2. Bauchi
3. Borno
4. Gombe
5. Taraba
6. Yobe

A number of people think that Atiku being from the North East will give him an easy victory or a landslide but the reality is very far.

For some in the south that thinks that the north is made up of only Fulani and Hausa, you guys are completely wrong, and the north east is likely the most diverse region in Nigeria (I stand to be corrected if am wrong) for example just Borno state has over 40 different ethnicity, similar to state like Taraba where one local government can have over 6 to 10 different ethnicity, this makes the north east the most heterogeneous region in Nigeria.

Being from the South south I used to think we were the most diverse till I had to live in the North East.

The reality of Fulani are not the dominant in the north east, infact Fulani are only present in Adamawa state and very few normadic presence in Borno state.

Now on the 2023 election, Analysis of the chances of the presidential candidates;

1. HE Atiku Abubakar
An Adamawa Borno former president of Nigeria,
His greatest chance would be in Adamawa, Taraba (grounds of large PDP family) and Bauchi, however there is a recentl surge of PDP supporters in Borno state which was all thanks to the systematic way Atiku has played his cards, in Borno state, all their governors (elected) has been Kanuri, and the Southern Borno has been greatly neglected especially by the Zulum administration this gave Atiku the chance to creep into Borno via the Southern Borno, so all things being equal, with the way things stand now, if election holds today, Atiku would likely get up to 25% or more votes here.

2. HE Bola Tinubu
The former governor of Lagos state will be banking on two things in the north east, first is his choice of VP and also the hope that his party structure delivers.
Currently PDP holds three state and APC holds 3 states in the north east.
His greates chance will be in Yobe and Borno state as clearly these two states are dominated by Kanuri and unless bare a last minute changes, theses two states will likely go for Tinubu,
Furthermore Tinubu is projected to have a fair outing in Bauchi and Gombe because of party structure but will have a low or at best an average outing in Taraba and Adamawa.

3. HE Peter Obi
Former governor of Anambra State,
As things stand, if election is to be held today, Obi will have the least votes amongst the top contenders reasons being that there is no party structure or personal affiliation here, however Peter Obi can change his style and I can bet that north east is his surest place to gather votes in the core north.
Obi managers need to up their game in
Taraba, Bauchi, Gombe and Adamawa, also Borno state needs presence of Obi hopes to do well in the north East.

Currently as it stands, Tinubu and Atiku has an edge in the north east unless a last minute changes.

I just concluded my service year on February 2022....barely a month ago and I'm still job hunting, although I have submitted so many applications but the job invites that are coming through are from lagos.

I'm currently in the east. Don't have anybody to stay with in Lagos for now. Now, I'm somebody that like to get a work in career or field that does not allign with my course of study, remember...I studied Animal and Environmental Biology and I came out with a good 2:1. In terms of job opportunities in Nigeria in respect to what I studied, it is very limited and chances of me getting in a job is very slim considering Nigeria factors as I don't have any connection.

A friend adviced me to go for my masters abroad and I told him, there is no money to do the initial processes although I believe in myself that I can get full funding if I apply but the money to write the necessary exams is not around, reason I'm trying my best to get a work of any kind that doesn't necessarily require what I did in school. So many people are doing it and if I ask them, they will say, they got it through graduate trainees and entry level roles in organizations and firms

I'm somebody that likes working in logistics company and as a customer representative but the major hindrance I'm having right now, is not having the experiences that will make me to work in those fields. Some, if not all of the job offers I always come across require for 1-3 years experience which I Don't have.

So guys, what's the best way to get through this? Just one month out of service and I'm already feeling bored at home doing nothing apart from helping my parents in the farm works and reading a basic course on UI/UX designing?

Borno State is so heavily-dependent on humanitarian resources and labour that if INGOs pull out today, the whole state would collapse. Even with the presence of medical INGOs offering free healthcare for instance, health indices in the state are still terribly low and many children die of malnutrition and other very preventable causes. Now imagine they all leave with their Nigerian and international staff, is it the less than 20 active hospitals in the state that will take care of them? Even if they have the capacity (which they can't have in the next 10 years), how will the people afford it?

The problem with the resettlements is that there's no sustainable livelihood, no economic activities, little government presence, no ease of movement and of course little assurance of security. Of course, they'll fail to take and the people will want to return to the IDP camps, mostly in Maiduguri city.

However, this is a governor who is more concerned about optics and his appearance in the media rather than tackling the real issues with the huge funding he's getting. He enjoys so much goodwill from his people and it's just sad that his achievements haven't matched that.
