If Rivers did not come first, then auditors should review the activities of Obio/Akpor LG which aggressively generates revenues, even more than some state governments.
N2.5b for the entire state is a blatant lie, because Obio/Akpor could conveniently generate that within a month! |

The next unnecessary obstacle is the fraudulent use of Remita in paying everything government. The monopoly is a deliberate stunt to fleece Nigerians.
Imagine, if I need to pay IKEDC N200,000 electricity bill, I will be charged the same basic N100 transaction fee.. Meanwhile, paying through Remita, you'll be charged huge percentage as if paying to government is a special project. Imagine, I had to pay N2,500 as Remita fees on N50,000 hostel accommodation for my ward in the university.
Now, think of a businessman that needs to make something like N20m payment for customs levy, how much would be Remita fee.
We understand the charges go to different pockets within the bureaucracy. |

Politics › Re: Niger State Demands 13% Derivation From Oil Revenue; Threatens To Shut Kanji Dam by gracealonev: 4:59am On Nov 08, 2023 |
The governor is not current ane a semi-illiterate. They already have a development commission for hydro power producing states. Now, I expect Lagos to fight for its own share of port abd importation activities. Guyman01: Niger State is more than Netherlands and Belgium combined in land size but cannot feed itself, (this is for those who always say that South East has a small landmass,) most of the milk used by Mai Shayi to make tea in Nigeria comes from cows in small Netherlands while Fulani herdsmen slaughters the population to use their farm crops to feed their Kwashiokod cows.
I expected the hardworking Governor of Niger State to ask Peter Obi how he planned to transform the state into a productive state during the campaigns with all those huge expanse of fertile lands wasting away but instead he is looking at more money from Niger Delta oil which NNPCL is already telling us is not available for Dangote refinery.
Meanwhile 70% of Nigeria power generation comes from Niger Delta gas while 27% is from hydro, so if he shuts down the dams the country won't be in total darkness and he lacks the capacity to do it because it will cause massive flooding if you don't release the water |

Police authority took action to invite the culprit
Erisco did not arrest anyone, they reported a complaint
. They only have to present their own truth. They shouldn't be like the Rev Fr. that keeps arresting detaining students who complain on social media about his mediocre university. |

Kingosytex: Na like dis e dey take start. Later dis one will find himself in the senate or somewhere else and continue the looting. We keep blaming those in power but fail to understand that we elected them from amongst us, they didn't fall from they sky; they have the mindset and mentality of an average Nigerian who sees every leadership opportunity as an avenue to amass wealth.
Back then in school, one of the SUG presidents once used the SUG funds to buy himself a sharp ride, it only got sour because out of his greed, he failed to settle those of higher hierarchy. The aggrieved parties blew the whistle and raised an alarm a4nd the rest was history Forget about it! In Nigeria, most of your current leaders have long eaten their cakes and they still have them. At a time in their shady lives, they lived as if there was no future. The president once had drug business issues. Senate president and NDDC funds. The party chairman was filmed stuffing dollars in his babariga. Ogun state governor involved in card fraud in the US. Former Delta state governor stole building materials and was convicted by a competent court. Former House Speaker had his own conviction in the US. In Nigeria, when these people need positions and their past begins to haunt them, they always use do-or-die means to have their way. We know all of them. It's our tragic reality. |
