eggheaders: POLICIES INCONSISTENCIES...

who go about bringing up nonsense policies, and end up reverting them after it been confirm as not really thought out policies.

banning the super eagles from footballing programs in the morning, rescinding the decision after the sober moment of his ogorogoro shaking section. ditto for maulag brouhaha and load of other nonsense decisions.

the ban on importations on rice was even more stupid to say the least. who ban a product where your production can't cater for half of what is required in the nation. the Benin republic administration always cash on the stupidity of our government, asap the folks across the border made a 50% reduction in imported of rice going to Nigeria. smugglers had a field day and we gat all manner of scrap as rice. the fvckhead IMF stooge shamefully announced the cancelation of the rubbish policy.

the automotive policy was even dumber than the rice policy. why increase tariff on importation of cars. when at best after all the help and at ideal situation, we can only produce 45,000 cars per annum while our annual need is pegged at little over 1000000 cars per annum. another pay cheques handed to the smugglers. do the policy makers ever make use of their number six. I know a rescind is on the way, heard from the grapevine the last commissioned vehicle at old Volkswagen along lagos - badagry expressway were actually imported vehicle who is the otueke fuckhead trying to deceive.
I have to agree with you on this.

The Special Adviser Media to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in this rejoinder, dismisses Dr. Femi Aribisala’s latest column entitled The beginning of the end of Bola Tinubu
DR. Femi Aribisala’s recent article “The beginning of the end of the Bola Tinubu Dynasty” should not have appeared in The Vanguard or in any newspaper for that matter. What this piece represented was a contribution to fiction writing, not responsible journalism.
Even there, it was bad fiction. Aribisala is so obsessed with his animus toward Asiwaju Tinubu that Aribisala cannot see or think straight. Thus, his writing is crooked. If one did not know better, one would think Aribisala does not hate Tinubu as much as he envies the man. Aribisala wishes he were Tinubu. Instead, Aribisala is relegated to being the Asiwaju of his own imagination.
The article is presented as an objective news analysis and commentary.  In doing so, the writer does injury to the newspaper, the truth and to the reading public.  The piece begins with a purported quotation from Bola Tinubu himself used to paint him in an unsavory light. The problem is that this quotation never occurred. It was figment of the author’s dire, envious imagination.
What was presented as   fact is fantasy. The man has the freedom to write whatever he pleases be it fact or fiction. However, it is unethical for him to portray as incisive journalism what are nothing but the fruits of personal hatred translated into  paper and ink.  When the truth does not prove the point he wants to make, Aribisala invents his own truth. While this might be an asset for a fiction writer, for a public commentator, it is a serious trespass against the tenets of responsible journalism.
Responsiblejournalism
Aribisala may well be jumping through these unethical hoops to currying the favor of the monarch of Aso Villa. But he should not be so hypocritical as to try to confuse us that his efforts are done as a public service.
The man actually criticizes Asiwaju for being a successful political leader as if doing so were some type of sin when , in fact, Nigeria is in great need of more far-sighted politician leaders not fewer. Aribisala claims Asiwaju wants to be another Awolowo. Here, why did not he quote Tinubu who has rebuked this charge many times? Repeatedly, he has stated there can only be Awolowo and to try to fit into his shoes is to lace yourself to failure.
We must learn from the great one and the principles he espoused so that we meet the challenges of our time as our legendary mentor and leader would have us do.  This Tinubu’s position regarding Awo. If you want to accuse Tinubu of believing that Awolowo is the father of progressive politics in Nigeria, he would plead guilty. But Aribisala accuses him of trying to supplant Awolowo.  The accusation is wrong and mean-spirited.
Again, at one point, Aribisala invents a Tinubu quote to as proof for his lies. Then at this point, the writer ignores Tinubu’s public statements because those statements rebuff the lie Aribisala seeks to perpetrate in the public mind. This comes to the meat of the matter.  This hack writer asserts that Tinubu seeks a dynasty. He cannot be more incorrect. Tinubu is a leader of a political reform movement along with other patriotic Nigerians.
When Tinubu held fast against the tyranny of the PDP and its attempt to capture all states by any means necessary that was the work of a man committed to democracy. If he had not stood against the great odds against him and his party, the PDP would likely have turned Nigeria into a one-party state by now.
Instead, the APC has come about and now challenges the PDP in an unprecedented manner. Any objective person would conclude that this competition is beneficial for the public and for the growth of Nigerian democracy.  It begs the question why Aribisala seems not to see this enormous contribution. He does not see it because those whose favor he seeks do not want him to expose this truth to the wider public.
Take a look at the men Tinubu has helped in their quest for public office. Fashola, Fayemi, Aregbesola, Oshiohmole, Ajimobi, Amosun, etc.  These men are not non performing “yes men”. They are all dynamic and outstanding performers in their own right. Each is different than the other and each state government excels in its own unique way.
Dynasticpretence
This means that Tinubu is not orchestrating them into some limited uniformity but stands out of the way for them to lead as they believe.  No major politician in Nigeria has a track record as good as Tinubu’s when it comes to supporting able people for office then leaving them to perform as they believe. Nowhere in the PDP does this happen.
If Aribisala wants to see and criticize something with dynastic pretence, he should do an expose on the PDP. In barking at Tinubu, he is barking at the wrong house.
This brings us to the Ekiti election. The vote count is in and the PDP has been named the winner.  Because there were few overt instances of violence, people have lauded the election as free and fair. I caution you not to be too hasty in drawing that conclusion.
Slowly, the truth is coming out about how the military blanketed the state and intimidated APC members and office holders, including the governor himself.  A new, subtler form of voter and opposition intimidation took place.
We have taken note and shall be prepared to outwit it the next time.On a larger note, Bola Tinubu is one of the leaders of a reformist national opposition party contesting against a behemoth, immoral ruling party that will use any all measures to keep power. This is a long marathon we run. There will be obstacles and pitfalls along the way. Ekiti was one but we are not deterred. Our objective is good and right. We seek democratic good governance for the people. We are not ashamed about that.
If seeking to make the people’s vote count and to make government care for the people is wrong, then let us be wrong. For we know that we will only be in the wrong to people with jaded vision such as Aribisala. History shall prove us right. Long after Aribisala’s efforts find their way to the bottom of the wastebasket, the APC shall stand as having pulled Nigeria from the precipice.   And history will score Tinubu with high marks for ever remaining the one man standing.

Are they telling others at large to change tactics or what? I can see useless politics playing out on this issue of boko haram especially the chibok girls matter. Walama who was said to
have escaped series of

It was gathered from

after they realized that
almost all the policemen on

it ablaze after they
discovered that the engine is
not in perfect order.
They went from there into
the town and shot
sporadically aimlessly in the
town before fleeing towards
Gwaskara village.

news of the terrorists
lurking around the town at
about 8am when they were
sighted by some women on
their farmlands around
Walama, an outskirt of the

They had scared off the
women from their farms,
telling them that they have
deadly mission to execute in
some places in Shani.
All effort to get the Police

Politics › Osun’s First Raw Gold Before End Of The Year by gratiaeo(op): 12:58pm On Jun 30, 2014
OSOGBO—All is now set for the mining of the first gold in Ilesha, in the State of Osun as the Governor Rauf Aregbesola, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an Australian mining firm, Andalusian Mining Industry.
This came as the leader of the mining firm, Colin Miller, told the governor that his company would present the first raw gold to the people of the state before the end this year.
The signing ceremony took place at the Government House, Osogbo yesterday with a moderate ceremony with the governor in attendance.
The governor said the Australian mining firm had conducted a geological survey which confirmed that there was a huge deposit of gold in Ilesha.
Aregbesola said the discovery had presented the state with a wonderful opportunity to partner with Andalusian in the breakdown, exploration and mining of gold in the state.
He said the people and the state look forward to having maximum advantage of the mining firm’s presence in the state
The governor described gold mining in state as a major breakthrough to the government and a business opportunity for the state.
He said the government looked forward to speedy operation and intervention in the prospecting for gold before the end of the year.
The governor expressed hope that the state has joined the league of mining of non-oil mineral producing states in the country.

Politics › Presidency, Experts Fault Presidential Committee Report On Chibok Abduction by gratiaeo(op): 10:30am On Jun 29, 2014
• As group bemoans FG’s
attitude to Kaduna killings
By Chuks Okocha and John
Shiklam
Two Presidency officials and
some security experts at the
weekend described the
report of the presidential
committee on the abduction
of some schoolgirls from
Chibok, in Borno State, as
fundamentally flawed.
The presidential fact finding
committee headed by
Brigadier General Ibrahim
Sabo (rtd) had been set up
on May 2 by the federal
government to investigate
the circumstances
surrounding the April 14
kidnapping of nearly 300
girls from Government
Secondary School, Chibok,
by the Islamic terrorist sect,
Boko Haram. The committee
submitted its report to the
president, Dr. Goodluck
Jonathan, on June 20, with
Sabo confirming that 276
girls were abducted by the
sect, while 57 escaped and
219 were still missing.
But officials of the
presidency and security
experts who spoke with
THISDAY at the weekend on
condition of anonymity
described the 45-page report
of the committee as lacking
in analytical reasoning and
depth required of an inquest
of such nature.
This was as ethnic
nationalities in the southern
part of Kaduna State
yesterday expressed their
displeasure at the federal
government’s lacklustre
attitude to the repeated
bloody attacks on their
communities by Fulani
herdsmen. Their annoyance
followed fresh attacks by the
marauding Fulani on
villages in Sanga Local
Government Area of Kaduna
State on Friday in which 40
people were killed.
“We have seen the vice
president and the president
rush to the scene of a bomb
blast which killed 22 people
in Abuja on Wednesday.
But they have not issued
even a statement
concerning the 142 people
that were killed in Bondong,
Kaura Local Government
Area of Kaduna State,”
Southern Kaduna Peoples
Union stated in a release.
One of the experts who
spoke on the Chibok
committee report, a retired
deputy director in the State
Security Service, said whilst
the committee explained
that Government Secondary
School, Chibok, was initially
closed for security reasons,
but was re-opened for the
WAEC examinations
because, it was located in
“areas least affected by the
activities of the insurgents,”
the committee, however,
“failed to ask what is
perhaps the most relevant
question here, which is,
what security arrangements
did the Borno State
government put in place to
secure the school and its
students.”
He said, “It is worrisome
that the committee did not
bother to address this in its
evaluation of events leading
to the invasion of the Chibok
school by Boko Haram
insurgents, especially when
it earlier noted in its report
that ‘The state government
made adequate
arrangements for security
of examination materials
and staff of WAEC,
especially, in view of the
undertaking given to the
Federal Ministry of
Education by the Borno
State government that
adequate security would be
provided.”
Both the Presidency officials
and the security experts
believed the blame for the
security lapse that preceded
the seizure of the girls
should have been laid firmly
at the Borno State
government’s door by the
committee, instead of
virtually adopting the
position of the state
government on the issue.
Another area that the
analysts faulted was the
committee’s conclusion on
the number of girls
abducted on the night of
April 14, when the
insurgents attacked the
School. They wondered how
the committee ascertained
that all 395 girls of the
school were in the hostel on
the night of the attack since
WAEC had confirmed that
there were candidates who
had not shown up for any of
the exams held before the
attack.
“Who verified that 395 girls
slept in the hostel?” the
security expert asked,
explaining that there were
no wardens, principal, or
staff in the school on the
night of the attack.
He accused the committee of
being engrossed in an
arithmetic meant to arrive
at a predetermined figure of
276 rather than doing a
thorough work to ascertain
the actual number of those
kidnapped.
Another expert, who said he
had looked through some of
the findings of the
committee, raised yet
another poser. If, indeed,
the students were made to
believe that the insurgents,
who disguised in military
uniforms, were there to take
them into safe custody, what
motivated the 119 girls to
escape while some 276
followed, since there was no
apparent violence,
according to eye witness
accounts?
A presidency official added,
“The committee also failed
woefully to remove the
cloud on how the insurgents
evacuated such a huge
number of girls at such an
hour of the day. How many
vehicles were
commandeered and used?
At what stage was the school
burnt down? These are
issues that ought to be
addressed to give credibility
to the report.”
The experts also faulted the
committee for its failure to
visit chibok and hold
thorough dialogue with the
local community. “It was
inconceivable that a
committee, which had such
a wide terms of reference,
only sent two of its
members to Chibok and
those two only spent 30
minutes in the locus,” one of
the security analysts said.
He added, “This is a very
major defect in its
assignment and it raises lots
of questions on the report
eventually turned in.
Whoever prevented the
committee from having
direct interaction with
leaders of the Chibok
community has done a great
disservice to the nation. The
committee’s report has,
therefore, raised more
questions and provided less
answers. It has presented
government with
misleading information and
figures that are apparently
unreliable.”
But at the weekend, the
people of southern Kaduna
State accused the federal
government of showing no
concern to their plight after
raids by suspected Fulani
herdsmen that have killed
more than 200 people in
Sanga Local Government
Area in the last one week.
“Yet the southern part of
Kaduna State is the
stronghold of the ruling
Peoples Democratic Party,”
the people lamented in
statement by their umbrella
body. “This is an area that
gives the PDP 100 percent
support to bring them to
power. We don’t know what
we have done to this
government to deserve this
type of negligence when our
people are being
slaughtered like animals.”
SOKAPU said, “We are
disappointed with the
attitude of the federal
government towards the
massive killings that are
going on in the southern
part of Kaduna.”

thegreatman4ww: If long term beneficial projects were abandoned because the electorate in Ekiti voted for a person who had meet their immediate needs then I foresee greater infrastructural decay in next few years. I am confidence that in few years to this time ppl will understands.

Most Ekiti voters in last election voted for what they WANT not what they NEED. It is a battle between immediate enjoyment/future risks and immediate risks/future benefits.

I believe is better to cry then laugh than to laugh then cry.
You did justice to the piece based on your limited understanding of the situation in Ekiti. Fayemi was totally rejected because he ran an elitist government that Ekiti nay Nigeria is not ripe for. His government was too expensive for the agrarian Ekiti. He milked the people dry without empowering them. Like others said, Fayemi’s government like other APC governors was very corrupt and vindictive. An election whereby all civil servants, teachers, students, and artisans voted was totally disconnected from the people they were leading. Let me make it clear to you that your prayers and prophecies will not be answered. While Fayose distributed 10kg of rice + N2000 to students, Fayemi shared 50kg of branded rice + N5000. Lastly, except Fayemi change his attitude and the people he surrounds himself with also connects with the people, Ekitis will not vote for him in 2018.
