No weapon in any arsenal is as formidable as minds of free men and women—-Ronald Reagan. APC should tell us what they have for Nigeria (Manifesto) and watch Us (masses) fight for them and that is if they have solution to our numerous problems. We as people can vote and defend our votes if APC is a way forward but it looks like they have nothing but propaganda and blames. APC member are liars

APC has been using the resources of her states to fund tinubu must rule Nigeria at all cost campaign, intimidating and brutalizing the citizens, corruptly inducing media organizations in Nigeria and beyond to keep on lying ,hypnotizing and deceiving the citizens with cleverly woven deciets, propaganda, media hypes, and empty slogans while the greater number of citizens of the states under APC are in trauma and agony. while aregbe had been fooling himself looting and making his state debt ridden, he was hypotonizing and deluding osun people with empty slogans such as state of Osun in place of Osun state, opon imo etc. today election time has come and Osun people are gearing up to free themselves from a four fold slavery, bondage and entanglement of boko haram commander of the south west, tinubu, APC and aregbe. APC is catching cold and with another free and fair election in Osun state, their cold shall turn into a flu and pneumonia. may God hear the agonizing Lamentations of Osun Christians, churches and citizens of Osun against the boko haram commander aregbe in Osun state
Politics › Omisore Campaigning With Masked Suspected Terrorist -APC by gratiaeo(op): 7:40pm On Jul 05, 2014
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Saturday accused the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Iyiola Omisore, of employing services of a masked suspected terrorist in his campaign trail with the intention of intimidating the electorate.

The APC said Omisore was spotted during his campaign trail closely guarded by the armed suspected  terrorist.

The party noted that while President Goodluck Jonathan was fighting terrorists in the North with Nigerian soldiers, his party man was hiding behind security cover to intimidate the electorate.

The APC, in a statement, called for a full scale investigation by the security agencies into Omisore’s use of masked armed guards.

The party also said it heard, on good authority, that the PDP had brought it in bales of fake police uniforms with substantial arms into the state with the intention of replicating “the scenario of Ekiti State.”

The APC said, “This country and the democratic process are in terrible times. As the August 9 election approaches, PDP’s desperation to win by force of arms rather than the votes of the people is manifesting ever so clearly.

“Political terrorism has arrived in Nigeria democratic space by the evil construct of the PDP.”

According to the APC, the theme of Omisore’s campaign so far has been that, “arrangement has already been made to remove Aregbesola from office no matter what he is doing.”

It said, “Nobody has heard this fellow (Omisore) articulate a plan of governance for Osun, which can be publicly evaluated as superior to what Aregbesola is doing. All he has on offer is a so-called ‘plan’ that has been made to replace APC with PDP government come August 9.”

Minister: Ibadan, Aba are
dirtiest cities

From Bisi Oladele
Do you live in either Ibadan,
the Oyo State capital, or
Aba, the Abia State capital?
If yes, you are living in one
of the dirtiest cities in the
country, says the Minister of
Environment, Housing and
Urban Development, Mrs.
Halima Tayo-Alao.
She also expressed concern
over the moribund Federal
Government’s sanitation
project in Ibadan, which
was targeted at making the
city one of the cleanest.
But, the sanitation scheme,
which the minister revealed
was a tripartite project of
the Federal and the state
governments, as well as
investors, has succeeded in
Aba with the attendant
improvement on the
sanitation, waste disposal
and recycling.
Tayo-Alao spoke in Ibadan
while giving a keynote
address at the national
workshop on the
implementation of the
Rotterdam Convention, held
at the University of Ibadan
(UI).
The workshop was
organised by the BASEL
Convention Coordinating
Centre of the university.
The minister, who disclosed
that over N5 billion had
been spent on the
channelisation of the
Ogunpa River, deplored the
failure of these efforts of the
Federal Government at
improving the sanitation of
the city.
She wondered why the
project was yet to be
completed despite the N230
million the the Federal
Government had paid the
contractor.
Tayo-Alao explained that
environmental issues are no
longer the exclusive
responsibility of the
government, stressing that
the state, local government,
institutions, corporate
bodies and individuals need
to work hand-in-hand to
address climate change,
sanitation and related
environmental issues which
have been pushed to the
front burner in
international affairs.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor
of the university, Prof. Femi
Bamiro made case for a
paradigm shift in the
approach of researchers to
the issue of environment.
He said that since the
environment is inter-
disciplinary, researchers
and academics should get
out of their narrow
disciplines and incorporate
environment in their
research works, so that the
issue will be seen and
appreciated from different
perspectives.
"Social scientists,
educationists, engineers and
others should involve
themselves in the
environment research," he
stressed.
State Commissioner for
Environment,Alhaji Mukaila
Aborode, disclosed that
sanitation and other
environmental issues are
key areas of priority to the
current administration in
the state, pointing out that
trucks and skipps had been
bought by the government
to address sanitation
problem.
Besides, 200 sweepers are
also keeping the city of
Ibadan clean daily.

Politics › Protest Rocks Onitsha • As Tricycle Operators Accuse Police Of Extortion by gratiaeo(op): 8:34am On Jul 05, 2014
• As tricycle operators accuse police of extortion

Human and vehicular movements were disrupted for hours at the ever busy Denis Memorial Grammar School, (DMGS) roundabout, Onitsha as members of the Keke Drivers Association took over the streets to protest alleged police extortion, harassments and illegal detention of members.

The protesters, dressed in mourning cloths and mouth guards sang anti-police songs and brandished placards with several inscriptions including “IGP please overhaul Police in Onitsha”, “Police in Onitsha are the most corrupt in the country”, among others.

According to the Chairman of the Campaign for Democracy, (CD), South East zone, Dede Uzor, the protest was in collaboration with CD against the police in the city whom he accused of resorting to intimidation, corrupt practices and illegal arrest and detention of tricycle drivers since the ban on checkpoints across the country.

He said that corrupt practices among policemen were more apparent in the commercial city of Onitsha, adding that policemen attached to the Central Police Station, Inland Town and Awada stations have been at the forefront for the alleged illegal detention and extortion.

“We are protesting against the illegal and corrupt activities of policemen in this city, they have made Keke drivers to remain perpetually in agony because of massive extortion, illegal detention and other inhuman treatments. It is also pertinent to note that majority of these drivers are driving these tricycles on hire purchase basis and when police kept on extorting them of the money, most of them have had no option than to drop the keke because they couldn’t meet up with the agreement they reached with the owners”

He called on the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Abubakar to immediately overhaul the entire police stations in the commercial city to bring in new police officers who have not been corrupted by money and other things.

Also speaking, the Secretary of the KDA, Mr. Chukwudi Obi lamented the ordeal of keke drivers in the hands of policemen whom he accused of deliberately arresting their members and in the process extorting money from them at the various police stations before they would regain their freedom.

He called on Governor Willie Obiano and the Commissioner of Police in Anambra state, Mr. Usman Gwary to look into the matter and call the policemen serving in the police divisions in Onitsha to order to allow those in their genuine business to survive.

However, when contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka said the policemen in the state are there to maintain law and order and described the allegations as frivolous and unfounded.

Politics › One Week After, Kaduna Governor Yet To Visit Scene Where 200 Were Killed by gratiaeo(op): 3:59pm On Jul 04, 2014
One week after more than 200 people were massacred in the violence-prone southern Kaduna area of Kaduna State, Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero is yet to visit the scene and reassure the besieged inhabitants. Instead, critics accused the governor of spending his time politicking.

Last week, more than two hundred inhabitants of the area, most of them children, women and the elderly were killed in Sanga local government area of Kaduna State. Security sources blamed herdsmen for the savage attacks.

Bitrus Yohanna, a US-based student who hails from the troubled area and arrived there last Monday, told SaharaReporters he witnessed a shocking level of death and devastation. He added that members of his community were dismayed that Governor Yero had failed to visit the villages where the mass killings took place.

Politics › Oko Poly Withdraws From ASUP Strike, Resumes Lectures Next Week by gratiaeo(op): 5:45am On Jul 04, 2014
THE academic board of Federal Polytechnic, Oko in Anambra State yesterday announced the withdrawal of the institution from the ongoing national strike of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP.
Meanwhile, the academic board and the governing council of the institution have directed immediate reopening of the polytechnic and resumption of lectures with immediate effect.
Registrar of the polytechnic, Mr. Tony Nwaokolbia directed students to return to school immediately, adding that the suspended 2012/2013 second semester examinations and lectures for fresh students will commence on Monday, July 7, 2014.
Rising from the emergency meeting at Oko, the academic board said that while it is in support of the agitation of the unions, it had to put the fate of students who had remained at home for almost one year into consideration, adding that the withdrawal from the strike was to enable students write their second semester examinations and be at par with students of other institutions.
A member of the board and dean of the School of Engineering, Dr. Nsionu Ifeanyi, who addressed reporters after the meeting of the board praised the efforts of ASUP in putting up a good fight, noting that their withdrawal was not to dissuade the union from the struggle, but in consideration of the students who have wasted a lot of time at home.
Ifeanyi said the management of the institution would work out modalities for the examination which, he stated, would commence as soon as possible.
According to him, the academic board, which is the highest decision making body of the polytechnic, deliberated on the ongoing national strike of ASUP and the fate of our students who have been at home for nearly one year and decided to take the decision.
He said: “While we are supporting the union?s fight, we said it is important that we see what we can do for our students to help them because they have lost so many months. The board therefore decided that the students be called back to write their examinations and continue with lectures, while we wait for the outcome of the engagement of the union with government. We don?t want them to fail in their demands. We only want to bring ourselves at par with our colleagues in other institutions.”
However, the national president of ASUP, Dr. Chibuzor Asomugha, said in an interview that the academic board was not competent to call off the strike.
Asomugha said he was not aware that Oko Polytechnic had withdrawn from the national strike.

Politics › Edo Cancels Teachers’ Competency Test, Recalls 936 Sacked Teachers by gratiaeo(op): 11:44pm On Jul 03, 2014

Edo State Government has reversed the planned competency test for teachers in the state  and  recalled the 936 teachers whose names were deleted from the payroll over certificate discrepancies and age falsification.

Government also announced the immediate extension of the relativity to teachers in the state public schools.

Making the announcements Thursday, Governor Adams Oshiomhole during a meeting with the Nigeria Union of Teachers [NUT] and the Nigeria Labour Congress [NLC] said “On assumption of office, it was very clear to me and my colleagues that our future is defined by the level of investment in education and the quality of the basic education we provide for our children and that is why we have devoted resources to the rebuilding of our Primary Schools, Junior and Senior Secondary Schools.

“For me, it was clear coming from my own background, I had obligation to restore dignity to the educational sector in the state. Basic education is like the foundation of a house. If the foundation is weak, the building will collapse but if the foundation be strong, it will withstand the test of time. It is easier to re roof than to re build a complete house”

He said the need to ensure the future of the state is not by compromising the future of the Edo child, but the necessity and action to redefine the educational system in the state,  He said this    was why the state government was committed to carry out competency test.

Oshiomhole however, noted that having discovered that some of our teachers were not qualified or up to date with recent teaching methods, government insisted that competency test must be seen in this light.

“But having listened to all suggestions and consultations with various groups, government has agreed to set aside the competency or assessment test in order to re assure Edo workers that government has no intention to sack anyone”, he stressed.

We have never had a country called Nigeria. What we have is a geographical location that extends to ‘country-in-progress’, but since a work-in-progress will either become a finished product or converted back to raw materials, it is better we stop deceiving ourselves that we have a country-NIGERIA, just NO please.

The best solution that I stand to support is parting ways for our coming together is not a marriage where divorce is not allowed(biblically, though with an exception of fornication). Nigeria as a country has not only fornicated or committed adultery, it has been molested and rendered desolate.

This my present position actually negates my original stand-point that Nigeria will not or should not break, but by many evil happenings and revelations, I have come to a conclusion, though not hastily, that our marriage will not work, except with DIVINE INTERVENTION which is not forthcoming.

The issue of boko haram has indeed shown that the 1914 amalgamation is a huge error that has brought Nigeria to her knees.
