I couldn't have said it better. God bless you. MizMyColi: |
Have you not noticed how the rice investors stormed nigeria these past years? The most important thing is to encourage the local manufacturer, make going into rice production more attractive so that those who smuggle it will be discouraged. Why do we make the same mistakes over and over again? obailala: |
God i can't believe some of the comments I am reading here, some are more concerned with the price of rice coming down but are not even thinking about the number of farmers and workers that will loose their jobs on the long run. Why are we so short sighted in this country, what happens to all the rice mills that have been set up and those under construction? What happens to their workers if they close shop? We demand for self reliance but do we think self reliance will come in a platter of gold. Kai! NAija why do we like going round in circles? |
The nigerian rice production has really grown. If you go round the market you will discover that there are a lot of made in nigeria rice in the market. Our rice has moved away from the abakaliki rice you grew up with. We now have very good refined made in nigeria rice jamesbridget13: |
What? A thread that was created on the 1st has already gotten to 21 pages, how am I gonna catch up? I really came late to this party. I am in my thirties, lives in abuja and looking forward to making good friends. |
Op look well na, everything in the pictures you uploaded is mega, so that qualifies it to be a mega city. |
The Kenyan president knew what he was going to the UNGA to do. Right from Kenya he told the Kenya people his plans and the meetings he will be attending. He went to newyork and came back with investments for his people. He acted like a lion who knew what he wanted. While the Nigerian president was being blown around in any direction the wind faces, no plan of his own, meeting ex leaders, even when the opportunities came to meet seating president he had no cut out projects he wants them to invest in in Nigeria. Kenya's president got an A at UNGA, the truth is our own president got an F. |
Putin means business. He means what he says and he says what he means. I pray this brings an end to Isis . |
This is how serious presidents do things. You already know the meetings and time of meetings you are to attend before you leave your country.

The same way he kept to time the day Saraki became senate president. ![]() pharmagba: |
So annoying that our government left out think thanks like this and took along people who are more interested in photo shots. |
Vado:DOnt you know HIV and AIDS is the most pressing problem nigeria is facing right now. It's not boko haram, it's not the economic decline or job loss or insecurity or oil theft it's HIV and AIDS. ![]() |
This is the height of hypocrisy . You left out Aregbesola and Rochas and you linked Saraki to governors who are performing better than all the APC Governors put together. From your twisted write up you made it look like its crime not to take the bail out, while the reverse should be the case. Governors especially those in their second term who took this bailout should be probed and the ex governors who ran their states down too. Mind you Ekiti won't have needed this bailout if the previous governor had manage the state resources well. |
APGA is doing in anambra what you can never do in IMO state even if given 100years to rule. You have crippled IMO state economy, the most annoying is what you have done to education in IMO state. |
shiftmarket:Maybe the governor needs the federal government assistance in getting a loan to complete the project. My guess is he the governor wanted the president to have a first hand knowledge of the economic importance of that project. |
This is the lamest excuse ever. What? The road in question is already existing but in a terrible condition. What the government of cross river wants to do is expand it and turn it into a super highway. I have travelled on that road many times, the whole length right from calabar then to vandeikya in Benue state. The natural park is way off that road. The people of cross river really have to unite and stand behind their governor on this one. He needs every support he can get. |
Oshun to begin payment of salaries - Future tense. The hunger in the belle of oshun workers - Present continuous tense. |
owobokiri:It's a pity, Nigeria is back to 1983. |
Thank you mizmycoli for this thread. Like mcsterling pointed out, the mind wanders so much, so so much. It becomes even louder when you try to be in the now. It's like you are fighting a war you can't win. You make some progress sometimes and you are happy, then you get carried away, but after you find yourself arguing with a lagos taxi driver or bus conductor over change or a construction worker at your site, you start asking yourself why did I stoop so low. Happy I have met my fellow travelers . Hope to learn more from you guys experiences. |
bushdoc9919:This is the most sensible post I have read so far. In Nigeria we want to eat our cake and have it. It has gotten so terrible that the people will fight any leader that tries to correct this anomaly. Corruption is not the major problem facing this country, corruption is one of the products from the way we do things in this country. Until we start taking education serious instead of lowering it for some region, investing heavily in infrastructure and human development, giving states control of their resources and running a smaller and more open government, until we do these, the fight against corruption is just a mirage. |
Is not strange that Jonathan has not even bothered to respond to all these people attacking him now. The new trend now is, if you want to be in the good books of buhari, attack GEJ. |
almost 3 months after swearing in and 5 months after winning an election, all the present government has been talking about is probe and missing $. Like I said before the election and I will repeat it here again, Buhari does not have a clue of what it takes to lead and develop this country. They will keep throwing propaganda to the masses and the masses will keep rushing towards it like hungry dogs to bones while the economy and infrastructural development is at stand still. May God continue to bless and protect Goodluck jonathan . |
EddyNumerouno:Guy please don't just go there. |
Ama80:I think the pastor overstepped his boundaries. He feels the shrine is the source of problems to the community, boko haram holds a similar view that the churches and western education is the source of problems facing nigeria. So both from my own view are on the same path. NNE I am also from Uga. |
I agree with etcetera 100%. He spoke my mind. The call for Biafra is a distraction. |
rottennaija:On this you know nothing. |
atlwireles:yeah I know you are a realist, that was why I was surprised you used the word hope. I agree with the op, there is nothing yet to cheer about in this present government, it's a pity many are celebrating sitting arrangements and comparing heights, but this is not a game of music and chairs. |
atlwireles:are you sure atlwireles? We really need something to make us hope, as it stands there is nothing to cheer about. |
Story land story land, land of music fun and play, story land, storyland , bring your friends along... If you believed this story, then you must believe that the tortoise actually deceived all the birds in a feast in heaven and was left to fall by the birds resulting to its cracked shell. A boy was buried alive probably without a coffin, the community called a priest for cleansing, the priest drove from his base, meet with them, started his prayer, was lead to the spot where the boy was buried by the " Holy Spirit", dug out the boy and voila! The boy was still alive. The title of this movie should be 10 as in 10 minutes. |
She starts playing and dancing to songs that irritates me e.g. Terry G's songs, akanchawa and co, I try everything within me to ignore her, but she continues, dancing away happily until I can't take it any more and break the vow I made in my heart not to talk that night. |
helpee:thank you for creating the time to educate that dumb skull . |
