you are right though, it's better off with a private individual buh don't forget BRT. It's all determination and there are provinces in Canda that run public transport maybe they only oversee, regulate and all i don't know buh it is believe to be own by provincial govt. Haven't been to Canada though buh you know we are all canadian as a Nigerian, if you know.

And yes, just like Oyo state is running hers presently, they can transfer the ownership totally to a private company and they would just monitor. Presently, the parastatal in charge of the bus prints the tickets while private individuals purchase the ticket and handle the sales, they appoint buses for each ticketter every day, different bus and different driver, supervisors. So it will be easy to transfer it all to a private company buh the state purchasing buses and making way for it is the major thing.
You're right, in the end it's about how much we're willing to make it work.
That Canadian part though cheesy
I'd prefer Norway though.

IntrovertedK:
you are absolutely right. Buh maybe if they can transfer ownership to private companies and not allowing competition at the long run might help. Just like Nitel and Nigeria air was planned to run. It will be run by stakeholders.

Like the Ajumose bus, the stakeholders run about 60% of it while the government handle the rest. And i believe they can transfer everything to stakeholders while govt regulates and monitor.

The problem is govt being serious about it and starting it. If they are truely serious, they can make things happen believe me.
Bro, in every country in the world I've been to, a privatecompany runs things. Governments have no time employing drivers, accountants, mechanics or all that trash. They tar the roads or fix rails, maybe buy the buses, hand over to a private company, sign an agreement, monitor and decide where prices will be pegged and how much revenue is expected.
Some even let market factors determine pricing if more than one company is involved. Nigeria just makes the simplest things look hard.

If you know what is good for you, face RSA. I have very good friends from SA in my university, particularly from Durban area and I see how nice the government treats them and spoils them at the embassy. My Nigerian government barely knows I exist. Especially anything international, it's better you identify as South African.

Everywhere you go, please be SA. I'm dead serious, not because I'm trying to make Nigeria look bad but in terms of opportunities and everything you'd have an advantage.
It's just the truth.

Unfortunate that's all you could come up with. I was born and bred in the North and speak Hausa more than any other language asides English. I understand the life and understanding of the average northerner and I feel so bad for them cos they deserve more. More than Atiku or Buhari or Saraki or any other thief in disguise that's responsible for the state of that region.and the entire country.

Do yourself a favour, save up and travel to Norway, or even Botswana or CIV and then place your beloved and wealthy Nigeria besides it. You'll bury your head in shame at how far behind that country lags.

Well, that is expected. His guards are not there for no reason.

It's unfortunate Nigeria will flaunt theirs and still have a hidden part as well.

In Europe, they have more than this, but they don't flaunt it.
Say what you know, do not generalise. Putin and Merkel are not all of Europe. They can afford to have machines bigger than this cos they're made right there in their country and it's even a thing of prestige for the company to give out their cars or customize them for their leaders as it also draws customers for them.

I've been within five meters of a European PM and the way he showed up to the meeting that day still shocks me till date, no siren, no road block, almost like how me or you will show up. 2 cars, one for him and the other for about four or so plain clothed guards. The cars didn't look too sophisticated even.

Simple.

NNPC that is a failed project is what you're happy for. Let me school you a little. The only sectors in Nigeria that are technologically within touching distance with the rest of the world are banking and telecoms and that's because they're privatised, investors have their money there and monitor it well for optimal service delivery and profit even though govt agencies suck at regulating things.

Be jumping over NNPC if only you knew how much is being siphoned there..

Maybe if you come down and contest we might have someone to vote for apart from them but I doubt you’d have the integrity to even contest a councilor let alone a president.

Use your head and face the reality of your surroundings. We can never be equal in life. That’s the simple truth of life.

There are Americans who are poorer than most Nigerians and yet they will still vote for trump who’s kids are on a first class ticket around the world.
The reality of your surrounding calls you to accept people dying for silly reasons, institutions shutting down, governors retiring as senators, and useless old men being recycled as normal happenings and you choose to accept right? Continue.... we'll see how well reality will help you. Reality is what you make of it, and you made a 78 year old senile man your reality. Enjoy it.

Kick Trump out of politics, he has business and enterprises all over. He's smart, well educated and can hold his own in a competitive set up.
Kick your beloved senators or president out of politics, I bet even you won't hire him to lead your organisation.

You know the truth, clearly you seem learned so forcing you to accept the truth will not be my business... you have a brain and a conscience, use them well else your very self will disgust you for the many lies you've had to cook up when truth stared you freely in the face.

Delivar:
This election has proven that the problem with Nigeria is not mainly caused by bad leaders as people always say, but a massive lack of education as the root cause. Every educated person knows that Buhari lacks the knowledge and health fittness to rule a country. But amazingly he is getting a second term. This can only happen when the masses are not educated. Atiku was winning the polls on social media because those who participated in the polls were the more educated Nigerians. Even though Atiku is not the best choice but he is better than Buhari and had the best chance to remove Buhari than the other candidates.

Lack of education is a serious matter in this country and this country will never go anywhere as long as it remains like that. If Buhari can be reelected then it means rouges like Tinubu and Ameachi can also win an election in Nigeria as long as the masses are this uneducated. I have lost hope in this country.
It's a good thing to know people like you still exist. I doubted it for a while. Bless you brother, that country does not deserve your kind.

What is it with Buhari and cult following?

He's not got that charisma of Tinubu yet that mass of followers who, come what may, would die for him. And I don't mean the so-called "illiterate" northerners, I am talking about ivy league graduates and leaders of thought.

Once you dig Buhari, you don't go back.

Whoever inherits Buhari's followers, in his demise, inherits a gold mine.
Please name these Ivy league graduates let me know them.
Anyway, the best education does not guarantee not selling ones conscience for wads of cash. So in a way, anything goes.
Cos I know no educated man in his right mind, watching the debates, seeing the glaring incompetence in that frail dude and knowing the calibre of men Nigeria can produce, will support that incoming failure.
