honourhim: Corporate entities will not stop advertising their goods and services in a national newspaper like Vabguard just because of tribal comment made by somebody except if the management of the company are moro.ns.
Companies wants many customers to patronize their goods and services thats why they engage in series of adverts and spend huge monies for that matter. They want their companies to be patronized across every ethnic groups as much as possible so they cant engage in such an anti-profit act of not advertising in Vanguard just because someone insulted an ethnic group. Except if the company is being managed by moro.ns as i said before. Who said you must advertise in Vanguard to reach your customers? Aren't there other newspapers that doesn't promote bigotry? |

I never supported what he said but some people have said worse in the past yet nothing happened. U know a whole 2nd class Oba once called a meeting among Igbo elites nd traders living in Lagos . The whole lias meeting ended up in an Oba telling a whole tribe they would get drowned if they fail to vote for his candidate in a democratic setting. Nobody might have replied him then nd he never Apologized nd you know hate begat hate..
So even in my sorry state I still feel that the yoruba elites actually started this both oflline nd online If I have to defend my tribe offline you will have no choice than to run to the UN to save your arse. |

Southerners are really enjoying their chain. 1966 counter coup was 3 billion % successful. If you believe there's any truth in what he said then you are not different from him and the southern unity you preach is nothing but a ruse. |

Envy? Lol.... Honestly I don't envy abiola or Yoruba. I wish I did. There is nothing in you guys to envy. Its a shame that a national hero supposedly is reduced to a ethnic champion.
You better open your eyes and see the cheap politics been played by APC using abiola's name. Don't claim tomorrow that you aren't aware. When was the last time ibos supported anything to do with Yoruba? Arthur Nzeribe, Chukwumerijie, Daniel Kanu are still fresh in our memories. Only a brain dead Yoruba will expect anything different from ibos. Let Abiola be our sectional hero. You are free to have your own heroes as well. |
Politics › Re: June 12 Honours: Igbo Leaders Kick Over Exclusion Of Prof Nwosu by Guestlander: 5:40pm On Jun 10, 2018 |
Throwback: I love your analysis, but it only revealed the hypocrisy when Igbos analyse Yoruba votes of 2015.
The Igbo verdict is that Yorubas who voted both Buhari and Jonathan, whereby Jonathan won 1 Yoruba state while losing minimally and respectfully in the others, are betraying the Southern unity concept.
A concept that did not exist when similar situation occurred in 1993, with a Yoruba being the Southerner contesting for a first term and not even a case of seeking reelection after a failed 1st term.
Because for Jonathan's first term he won all Yoruba states convincingly, except narrowly losing Osun to Ribadu of ACN.
So does it then mean all these Igbos on Nairaland have been spewing junk despite knowing that Jonathan won a SW state and still got reasonable support in the rest of the SW region?
Have you ever attempted to correct your kindred spewing such junk on Nairaland?
Despite the votes Jonathan got in the SW in 2011, did Igbos on this forum not rejoice when the Yoruba elders complained that the Jonathan regime had no significant roles for Yorubas apart from the statutory ministerial appointments, while Igbos and the rest of the South occupied majority of the federal departments and agencies?
Did Igbo's here not say we should go and meet Tinubu if we want anything, and that it was good the way Jonathan was treating Yorubas, saying if we don't like it, we should try and vote him out if we think so regard ourselves.
Was that same Jonathan not sent back to his Otuoke village when the unreliable Igbo backbone collapsed and caved in when carrying the load alone because it wanted the spoils alone?
So who then is a traitor such that the need to have an Igbo vice to a Northerner as it has always been with our democratic governments, resulted in the SouthEast voting 3/4 for a Northern president?
The facts of history cannot be wished away.
Those who claim that a Yoruba never voted for an Igbo cannot paint a scenario in history where only 2 major contenders were on the ballot and the Yorubas chose a Northerner for President ahead of the contending Igbo presidential candidate. No historical reference at all like that of June 12 1993, or the 2011 and then the 2015 elections where Jonathan was sacked by the same SouthWest and MiddleBelt that had already given him their votes in 2011 only to realise he was a failure that needed to be cast away.
All you can show in history is the 2nd replubic era where each of the tripod regions had their party and their tribal candidates being Shagari, Awolowo and Azikiwe, and all voted tribally with some few exceptions.
So as I have insisted with Igbos who are parroting a non existent and imaginary Southern unity, claiming the Yorubas betrayed it just because of vice-presidency position that we all know is only useful for presidential succession, where was this Southern unity in favour of Abiola in 1993 when Tofa had an Igbo running mate?
Did the Yorubas not show this unity in 2011 even when the other 2 contenders who were Northerners (Buhari and Ribadu), had Yoruba running mates who would be vice-president?
Anytime I see any Igbo wailing about betrayal, I just laugh knowing greed is the only motivation.
A greed to always be the ones partnering with the North to reenact the spoils of federal positions and jobs as it was in the 1960 government. Very well said. |

It was regional because only the southwest voted in that election and all the candidates were Yoruba. Sometimes you wonder if these people attended any school. May 29 election was conceded to Yoruba, a Yoruba candidate would have been president regardless of any other consideration and that day must be the symbol of democracy to people who reason upside down. The day Nigerians voted freely and chose the candidate they preferred must be discarded! |

Politics › Re: Abiola's Son Kola Replies Buhari On June 12 Declaration. by Guestlander: 12:39am On Jun 10, 2018 |
namet: This clearly exposes the hate that the Yorubas have for the entire people of the South-South. The Yorubas feel they co-own Nigeria with the North. It is the reason why they despised Jonathan, eventhough they benefited the most from his government.
Obasanjo even said Jonathan was not supposed to be President, that "he (the Ijaws) was not included" in the arrangement of holding power in Nigeria.
Who determines or who should determine who is qualified to hold power in Nigeria? The Yorubas always claim to be the determinants of who becomes President.
Sadly, their betrayal is why southern Nigeria has remained weak. It is time the SS and SE form one bloc and pursue their interests as one because depending on a people who feel threatened of losing their deluded 2nd place position to the North always will end in betrayal.
I praise this man for saying the truth and for exposing the hidden hatred of his tribesmen toward southern minorities in Nigeria.
Thank you Sir for your honesty. The same Obasanjo who made Jonathan the vice president to Yar' Adua? The southwest benefited the most from Jonathan's government? |

Just yesterday, a neighbor living opposite my compound Abiodun Oladokun aka baba bolade brutalize his wife to the extent that she was rushed to the hospital. When he came back he didn't even feel remorse. He instead turned to his 11 year old boy and warns him to study his future wife well before tying the knot with her. He said if his wife misbehaves he shouldn't hesitate to get leather belt from the bedroom. Arrant nonsense! How does martial art turn to wife beating? |
