Politics › Re: Who Else Fell For The Lekki Massacre Narative? by Guestlander: 5:54pm On Oct 22, 2020 |
9jatriot: Tuesday night, the 20th day of October 2020 was called Black Tuesday because of what many believe to be the killing of peaceful protesters at Lekki toll gate. DJ switch was showing live feeds and many celebrities were reported to have been killed. With the sound of gunfire at the background, there was no reason not to believe what they were saying. As a result of that news, it was termed the Lekki massacre. Those who heard the news were stunned. Reaction began to pour in and without thinking the GTB, ZEnith and Polaris bank close to the venue were reported to have been set ablaze.
Not satisfied with that, they proceeded to the toll gate and set it ablaze. All of that happened that same night. By the next day many other buildings and businesses were to go down.
First let us start with the definition of what a massacre is, the Oxford dictionary defines it as "an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of many people." Usually at the end of a massacre, dead bodies litter everywhere and there would be enough blood on the ground to leave trails of the events that had happened there.
Even though the dust at Lekki toll gate is yet to settle, only the following facts can be ascertain.
1: Earlier inn the day, some security camera were removed, however, the governor says only the etag barcode scanners and not CCTV cameras were removed. 2: The lights were turned off 3: Soldiers arrived at the venue just before dawn 4: Soldiers asked protesters to go home and started shoot (the question is, did they shoot to kill or shoot to scare?) 5: People got injured (So far no evidence of injury from gunshots, the injuries could have been as a result of the ensuring stampede) 6: The injured people were taken to the hospital 7: The governor immediately went out to visit the hospital and undertake an on-the-spot assessment to determine the immediate and remote cause of the action 8: The governor in a state wide broadcast came out to state that no one died as a result of the shooting. He would later come out to say that one person died at the hospital as a result of the complications in the injuries he had.
Those are the facts as I remember them. Next are the fiction or fake news
Fiction or fake news No. 1: That there was a massacre. Verdict: Massacre will result in a blood bath, in a place like lekki, it cannot be hidden
Fiction or fake news No. 2: Eniola Badmus dies as a result of the shooting. Verdict: She came out herself to debunk the news
Fiction or fake news No. 3: Then there was a picture of a lad carrying a lady wrapped in the nation's flag Verdict: It turned out to be a drama acted on independence day titlled "Heal Our Land Ooh Lord" acted by NCCF Akwa Ibom (I would love to watch it if anyone has a link to the drama)
Fiction or fake news No. 4: Many other images of dead people with names Verdict: Many of those people have come out themselves to say that not only are they alive some of them claimed not to have even be there that night
Fiction or fake news No. 5: Soldiers were shooting directly at protesters Verdict: This is the one that I wanted to verify as much as possible, but the video that I watched was of soldiers shooting into the air. I haven't found any other video showing otherwise. And let's think of it, if those shots were directed at the protesters, there would have been real massacre because the protesters would have had no cover because of the way the toll gate is. With the number of gunshots heard, Protesters would have been falling one by one. So far no concrete evidence to show or confirm that was what happened other than the commentary of people who were probably exaggerating, emotional or trying to blow their sense of self-worth out of proportion.
Fiction or fake news No. 6: Pictures of dead people covered in Nigerian flag Verdict: Many of those pictures were pictures of dead people from other incidents and not at the Lekki toll gate. Some of them showed that they happened during the day whereas anything "Lekki toll gate massacre" would be at night.
The reaction after that unverified news has left Lagos wondering, What Really happened?
In all of these, let us all appeal for calm. #Endsars does not mean we should destroy the few legacies we have.
Please share if you will People like you are part of the problem. |
Politics › Re: The Senseless Write Up Called :yoruba Ronu by Guestlander: 3:22pm On Oct 22, 2020 |
olakunle5296: *RE: YORUBA RONU*
I found it very funny indeed yesterday, as I read several messages sent to me by my fellow Yoruba friends , that we Yorubas should wake up and use our senses
That the on-going protest and destruction of property has been hijacked by the Igbos and Hausas to destroy Lagos State which is OUR PRIDE as Yorubas
That the protest is aimed at spoiling the reputation of Tinubu against becoming our next president.
I am so sad as a YORUBA at the level of ignorance that my fellow kinsmen are demonstrating with this type of irresponsible post called YORUBA RONU
First, this protest is not only ongoing in Lagos , it's everywhere in the country, from Abuja to Port Harcourt to Benin, to Asaba to Kano to Enugu, so why is Lagos State the only focus of Yoruba Ronu?
Destruction of property occured in all parts of Nigeria not Lagos Alone.
The properties destroyed in Lagos came up as aftermaths of the massacre at LEKKI
Second, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not the Leader and Hero of Yorubas, including me, he has amassed his wealth from our Commonwealth as a people, can Tinubu boldly come out and swear that the money he used in establishing TVC and the Nation's Newspaper came from his sweats and labour?
Tinubu presidency is mainly for the good of himself, his wife, concubines and political disciples, not for the progress of the YORUBAS
The only LEADER that we Yorubas ever had who was selfless, accountable, not greedy, and visionary was *JEREMIAH* *OBAFEMI* *AWOLOWO*, after AWOLOWO died Yoruba had no Leader again, MKO ABIOLA came very close but was betrayed by fellow Yorubas.
All those currently parading themselves as Yoruba leaders are never near Awolowo's status
They're there for their own pockets.
*WHY ARE THE YOUTHS ANGRY*
It started with #Endsars, but later resurrected the oppressive anger that has been living in Youths for several years
Anger triggered by
No hope for the future
Reading in the newspapers the monthly payment of senators and politicians while the masses are suffering
Graduating without employment
Graduates working as okada riders, yet seeing the children of Tinubu, Atiku, Buhari, Obasanjo, El-Rufai,Osinbajo, MC Oluomo etc flouting their parents wealths on Instagram, Facebook and other social media handles
These, especially the last point has created sorrows in the minds of Nigerian youths , knowing fully well that their wealth are accummulated by our Commonwealth, even the ones used in training their children
Mandela despite knowing Nigerias assistance for him while he was in prison ,hated Nigeria with passion because he said Nigeria was a country where the Leaders use the resources of the people to only enrich themselves
Let nobody turn this protest into a tribal war, this is a United struggle of Nigerian youths irrespective of tribes or language
My dear Yoruba siblings from another parents ,do not let anyone play on your intelligence
*Kindly disregard @ YORUBA RONU*
© *SORO SOKE* Is Tinubu the president of Nigeria, why the focus on Tinubu to the point where it appears this was about him and not the suffering of young Nigerians in the hands of the government. Don't tell me the people who lost their lives did so because of Tinubu. Whe the undue focus on him. |

Police don't attacked businesses o but miscreants do.
When police misbehave, they are traceable..... You can't trace miscreants and thugs.
What you all have set into motion.......... Let me keep quiet. Like I said earlier, you don't know them. One encounter is all you need, and you don't even have to commit any crime before you become a victim. They are all bastards. Sometimes more deadly than armed robbers and your so called "miscreants " |

GeneralShepherd: The time window to address this monster is closing really quickly. Like Amechi said if the poor hits the streets everybody will be on the run.
1. Arrest the commander of the Lekki squad, court martial him and his squad.
2. Show good faith by being truthful about how many people died last night and compensate their families.
3. Stop hiring thugs to disrupt peaceful protests and provide security to those who still choose to peacefully protest .
4. Use non-lethal force aka tear gas, rubber bullets, water canons and sonic booms to disperse problematic protests.
5. When the situation is under control we need to talk about how we wish to proceed as a nation. If only our leaders are half as smart as you are. The only tool they have in dealing with the populace is violence. |

NIJJAking: We Igbo's have being observing lately the malicious attempts by some mischievous elements from the south west to put the blame of the recent protests and aftermath reactions on Igbo's as those who pushed them or is it deceived them into carrying out the decisions they carried out. At. No time did an Igbo man lead the protest in any part of the south west to carry out any action which they did. We are all aware of how the protest began and subsequent events that unfolded . Igbo's are in the east carrying out their protest against the security forces and bad government while the yorubas are busy doing theirs in their respective states. Why don't you shut the Bleep up. Who are you to issue any warning to anyone. You better mind your damn business at this time. Boys aren't smiling at all. If you love SARS so much you can ask the FG to send them to the south east. |

nedekid: They feel tinubu had a hand in that attack at lekki toll gate. The cctv being removed, also the light being turned off just before the attack. People are of the opinion tinubu owns that toll gate and his revenue stream was being interrupted so he called the soldiers. Notice anything seen as his has been attacked. Eg nation newspapers, tvc, brt busses, oriental hotel etc. He obviously doesn't own the Lekki toll plaza. Someone gave the orders for the soldiers to shoot the protesters, it is very important we know who that person is. But all that is being lost in going after Tinubu. |

SilverNorGold:
.. Uncle UN, don't bother. Nigeria, under the able leadership of President Mohammadu Buhari, is capable of resolving the crisis...
For now, President Mohammadu Buhari is giving the benefit of the doubt to the governors to resolve the issues in their various states. It's only when they fail, that Baba will interfere..
Trust me, once Baba is involved, all those baby hoodlums, disturbing the peace of Nigeria, will be flushed out like the shit that they are.
So rather than disturbing itself about Nigeria, I strongly urge the UN to get more trash cans that will receive the loads of petitions that will soon be dumped on its table, by the evil forces of Nigeria, after they've been dealt with by the law.
President Mohammadu Buhari just dey look them.. Soon, they'll all feel the weight of the Commander in Chief.
Nigeria must be great, whether the enemies of Nigeria like it or not.
Long live Nigeria! Just like he flushed boko haram out of Sambisa? The order to shoot protesters must have come from Abuja. |

Nwaobama1: We all obviously know the blood sucking demons who masterminded the massacre at Lekki Tollgate last night.
Amb Hussaini Comamaise was the first to order that massacre but was turned down because the Military knew the negative effects on the image of the military.
AHMED Tinubu now mounted pressure on Babajide SanwoOlu who was told that I'd he disobeys, he is not guaranteed a second Term as Governor.
Tinubu ordered the removal of all CCTV cameras at the Lekki Tollgate and switched off all the lights, despite all the Heavy Solar panel that supplies electricity, they switched them off just to carry out this dastardly act.
Tinubu says he owns Lagos, we must tell them all that We all own Nigeria.
We must make Nigeria very uncomfortable for all of them and their families.
We have kept quiet enough, either way we are dying, by HUNGER or BULLET.
We must reclaim our Father Land. It doesn't belong to anyone. We all are Nigerians.
No more to godfatherism in Nigeria. No more to political thugs.
Tinubu and Mc Oluomo must vacate Lagos with his thugs(Agberos).
We are TIRED. This is a lie. I hate the people who killed innocent protesters with a passion but we shouldn't lie to make our points. Otherwise, we become like the people we are trying to fight, we become part of the problem. |
