Long One: So, how do you know the difference between a dealership with an experienced hand and one with an inexperienced hand? They both charge the same high rate; I believe mine charged something like £90 per hour (VAT inclusive) without the diagnosis fee.

I understand what Immune#1 said about the perks, but it’s now a case of ‘once bitten, twice shy’ for me. Apart from the manufacturer service stamp, which a friend of mine managed to get hold of, I no longer see the advantage.
Not easy to spot but if you belong to forums like this, you'll be guided. My current service and repair mechanic was introduced to me and he has been doing a good Job with my guidance (through forum materials) as I am still not comfortable leaving the vehicle totally in his care.

Igweka: Why do u like to critisize police. Do u think to arrest such gang is easy. They may die because of bullet injurry they sustain. So my friend it is naver police fault. Mind ur post.
I believe they made this arrests a while back. For the now dead to be alive for more than a few days; and a new storyline developing with their announced death, the police must have committed extra judicial killing once again.

Car Talk › Re: Top 5 Bad Car Habits by gulfer:
Long One: From my experience, the cheaper guys are often better skilled, I once took my car to a main dealer for a fault diagnosis and was quoted hundreds of pounds for a part plus their expensive labour.
After I fitted it, it still had the same fault, so I took it back to my normal mechanic and he diagnosed a completely different problem, hence I ended up buying a part the car didn’t really need.

Man, I was pissed, as my mechanic could have done it, but I stubbornly opted for the main dealer option, as I did not want to spend on a part I didn’t need and thought they couldn’t be wrong. Penny wise, pound-foolish.
Very true, there are quite some exceptions in that regards. Subscribing to the services of dealerships has its little perks like high pricing, but the odds are quite minimal. If the services of dealership doesn't quite go well with your financial budget, then I'll suggest you take out time and get a good mechanic experienced with your vehicle brand and level of sophistication.
Steal(Deal)lership with inexperienced heads and experienced, meticulous auto buff are two different things. Dealership employ more substandard mechanics due to obvious cash demand by an experienced hand. I will go for an experienced head/hand either in a dealership or or the roadside but will never, i repeat never give my car to any roadside mechanic. I'd rather tow it back home or to my trusted mechanic.

BOSON: My good people, I am terribly ashamed of myself for not doing proper checks before purchasing the vehicle. Account details supplied to me by mr Icme and which I paid into is listed below
Account Name: Daupriye Timi
Account Number:3034460839
Bank: First bank.
Recent checks indicate that the bearer of this account is female
As long as this is presented to SFU, the account holder will be made to produce him. First Bank work very well with SFU, he is a fool for thinking he has swindled someone because the money was collected through 3rd party.

@femi4, no disrespect here but I must tell you that you do better on the techie (comms and computer) side but that may not obtain with auto. Qualitative advice on auto maintenance and mechanics from the likes of Ikenna, Sienna et al is from years of experience and should be commended rather than come up against them with one off exception to the rules as in this case. The workings of any automobile should not be tampered with to exact some forced performance as in the case of connecting fans to run directly; this will not manifest immediately but over time.
Autos › Re: Nairalanders, chelseabmw, Inspired M Please Help Me Ask ICME To Give Me My Car by gulfer: 12:46pm On Aug 20, 2012
I followed the ICME/Boson saga from date of initial report and must say the mods have not been decisive enough. For a sales subforum, there is need to have a legal support system for customers like boson which can assist to enforce recompense as well as advisories that should be stickied and unmovable on the first page. All sellers should also have legal bound that must be signed so as to have a legally acceptable code of conduct which a breach of can then be explored to press charges. On the other side, boson appears to have acted gullibly by paying a deposit for a goods which integrity and state had not been ascertained. Sorry to say this but you are paying the price for being gullible! ICME conduct so far points at a serial opportunist who preys on others to sustain their existence. Links to these kind of issues should also be filed and stickied as well in a blacklist pool.

Didn't see the second part of the question, and I think luvinhubby has answered it. First and .oat important to get the fuel consumption cause is a scan of the vehicle......Do that ASAP.

Here is another one, This guys surely don't get tired.See excerpts
Susan Eneanya, 32, was arrested recently at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos when she tried to smuggle hard drugs hidden in the soles of a pair of shoes out of the country.

The substance, which tested positive to methamphetamine, was discovered during the screening of passengers waiting to board an Emirate Airline flight. The consigment weighed 900 grammes.....................................................A native of Anambra State, an unhappy and contrite Eneanya regretted her actions. She said, “I did not know that things will turn out this way. I was given the assurance that the drug will not be detected and that everything would be fine. The most painful thing is that I cannot understand why I agreed to smuggle the drugs.

Celebrities › Re: Jim Iyke Eating Roasted Corn In Amsterdam (Picture) by gulfer:
naptu2: This reminds me of the early '90s. A magazine (either OK, Hello, or The Sun) had, on its front page, a huge picture of Queen Elizabeth picking her nose (although that didn't affect the price of fish and chips).

It also reminds me of BBC World Service News Hour. Sometimes they broadcast celebrity news (childbirth, Britney Spears breakdown, etc) and you'd get a flood of letters on "Write On" from people complaining. "While there's famine in Darfur, crisis in Iraq, etc, the BBC decides to broadcast a story about Michael Jackson!" "They are dumbing down News Hour!" However, the next time there's such celebrity news, it'd be on News Hour again.

It also reminds me of when I was a kid. I'd want to watch NTA 9 o'clock news, but my siblings would prefer watching some hollywood movie. How does that hollywood movie affect my life? Their reply was that the 9 o'clock news was boring.

The moral of the story. . . One man's meat is another man's poison. If it looks like poison to you, don't go near it. Search instead for meat and you'll be just fine.
The Queen picking her nose in public is fugly, where is the famed British finishing school touch?
