maryjames9: Are you sure you read the reports before commenting? Last time i checked Fahoola is not the Governor of that state. Bukola Saraki is still the active Governor who remotedly control the chair Governor Fatai. Try get ur facts right. As for the post, i believe our police are reflection of our government. Until we overhaul the crop of bad government in this country and focus on ensuring people reaps the dividends of democracy, jobless graduates wil turn into highly trained and strong criminals. If their government cant secure their future or at least tackle corruptn and create enabling environment for job creatn and self empowerment, kidnapping, robbery with sophisticated and high tech means will never be overpowered by our drop out,ill-trained,un-motivated set of mofol called Nigerian police forcereference is to the entire NPF, at times think on the larger scale.....The NPF will rather do jobs that are not theirs; don't you agree? ![]() |
kunle357: One thing i know for sure is that any car is good for nigerian roads, most cars are great however, nigerian car owners/drivers are just the worst! their maintenance cultures are the worst and no one can save such vehicles after they have been through such drivers.. im a car dealer and i import vehicles from only USA and Canada and i can tell you authoritatively that its the divers that are bad and not the cars!Oh so true! |
![]() irecruit: Another day to tell Nigeria police that they should sit up. This armed robbers should stop killing innocent people instead they should attack the terrorists disturbing this country and show their power there. We the Nigerian police are busy enforcing rules like fashola's traffic rules than be bothered about our constitutional duty of crime prevention.. ![]() |

A senior police officer in Lagos, has said armed robbers who invaded the state on Sunday succeeded because they monitored policemen’s movement with stolen walkie-talkies. The officer, who craved anonymity, told our correspondent that this was further made possible by the sophisticated weapons the bandits wielded and security lapse in the state. He said, “The hoodlums were between eight and 12. After they killed policemen in a Rapid Response Squad van on Oba Akran Avenue, they stole their guns as well as their walkie talkies which they then used to track police movement. “So, for example, if policemen were on Allen Avenue, the robbers would avoid that area and take an alternative route. This was how they were able to escape.” The policeman, who described the bandits as “experts” said the casualty figure was yet unknown. But he confirmed that a corporal, Dejo Obaje, was among the slain policemen. When asked to name the remaining policemen felled by the robbers’ bullets, he declined further comment on the issue. The police officer said to avoid a recurrence, the police were making efforts to reprogramme the walkie-talkie remotely.........Read on here:http://www.punchng.com/metro/robbers-monitored-police-with-stolen-walkie-talkies-source/ |

Bull-Poo! CBN damn right knows that in Nigeria, the customer is not always king.....I have been in Banks to get N50s and N100s for use only to be told not available, with the new proposed or already printed N5,000 bills; I tell ya all smaller denominations will be scarcer and we will continue to be at the mercy of the unscrupulous guys. |
The criminals will continue to pick off the police officers as easy targets because they have abdicated so much of their constitutional responsibility of crime fighting and now rather face other civil offenses that should be left to the likes of LASTMA and civil defense officers. R.I.P to the dead but I laughed last week when the police commissioner was giving tacit support to the new Lagos traffic regulations boasting that his men will support the campaign; now his own constitutional campaign is being rubbished. At times, I marvel at the quality and school of thought of some of these people. I tell ya, we have not heard the last of this militants and the very skewed amnesty programme. ![]() |
Ex-militants in Akwa Ibom who accepted the Federal Government’s amnesty programme have protested against their exclusion from the NNPC surveillance contract awards. The group, under the aegis of Ex-Militants Forum of Akwa Ibom State, in a petition to the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, questioned the rationale behind their exclusion and wondered why the state should be excluded from surveillance contracts. The petition was entitled: “Letter of Stern Complaint: Exclusion of Akwa Ibom state From NNPC Pipeline Surveillance Contract” and signed by Mr Ubong Utin and Mr Kingsley Umoh. “It has come to our notice that NNPC is implementing a pipeline surveillance contract which offers reasonable employment opportunities to oil and gas producing states. “Under the programme, Bayelsa State is offered 3,000; Rivers State 4,000; and Delta 5,000 slots respectively, while Akwa Ibom with the highest oil production quantum is deliberately left out. “We make bold to state here that the effect of this lopsided decision and deliberate neglect of our people will result in anarchy and revolt,” the group stated. The forum said it had adopted some measures to douse rising tension from the ex-militants who were agitating for employment under the NNPC scheme, and called on the corporation to address the alleged marginalisation. The group maintained that their knowledge of the state waterways, estuaries and deep water territories should be of immense advantage to the surveillance contract, arguing that their inclusion would discourage a return to criminality. The forum expressed its readiness to support oil and gas production and exploration activities in the state. It added that the services of its members would complement the efforts of security agencies in protecting oil installations in the Niger Delta, and hoped that the concerns would be addressed within two weeks. A recent report said some of the Niger Delta militants have been given mouth-watering million dollar sums to safeguard the country’s oil installations. Tompolo is the highest paid with $22million yearly. Asari Dokubo pockets $9million, while Ateke Toms and Boy Loaf collect $3.5million each.http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/09/06/ex-militants-want-pipeline-surveillance-contract-to-go-round/ |
