The annoying thing here is that the priority of these refineries working is not to bring down fuel price significantly. And that's the main thing a lot of Nigerians were looking forward to. This thing is too annoying. Until I start feeling the effects as a common man, all these sayings & doings na pure fallacious fallacies. Do well & by ourselves, we'll hail you. Career / Re: Suggestions: What Would Be The Minimum Hourly Pay Rate For The Nigerian Workers? by GYBABA(m): 12:56pm On Dec 12, 2023
The question should be,"What should be, not would be". I can see some people are confused & didn't read your post. Using "Would" only means someone somewhere probably in the government is contemplating it but nah.

Anyway by your suggestion, government can implement it. Nigeria has money but private organizations and individual employers would definitely not want to. It will wreck some and for others, they won't want their profit net reduced. Some will prefer to accumulate wealth to themselves rather than evenly distribute it.

Now imagine paying at the rate of #1500 per hour for one month as minimum wage, #240,000 for smallest worker. I don't think Nigeria's economy can handle that for now. It's not stable enough & if it's somehow possible in my lifetime, it's probably because inflation has ravaged Nigeria's economy as much as Zimbabwe.

However, #500 to #700 is feasible for both federal & private maybe #1000, but #2000 haaaa economy no good ooo. He go hard

I am impressed that a male understands this logic. This has been my go-to approach for years. Saves up cooking time by over 50 percent.

It's no big deal. My mother made sure she taught me how to cook so whoever I marry won't use food do shakara for me. Regardless of gender, everyone should know how to cook. And yes! It definitely saves time.

Your method doesn't save your gas.

You cooked Beans at high flame gave you away as a poor gas manager

Beans required heat, not flame.

As long the beans has boiled, and the pot is heated, lower your gas and see the magic.

This only works in theory. When you practicalize it then it is not feasible. All other times I tried your method, it always passes one hour for the beans to get soft. Takes too long.

You're very correct, I actually achieved this in 25 minutes. Sound unbelievable but check my method.
In the evening, I cooked the beans for 15 minutes, then pour inside my child big food flask, the type that retain heat for a very long time, left this overnight. In the morning I pour it back into the pot and cook again for 10 minutes, viola. It was done.

That's true. Very feasible. I'll try to try this too. Thank you

Interesting grin. What you should have done is put the onions earlier on, onion actually makes beans soften faster. That style is how I cook my cow legs now as my pressure cooker is no longer pressure cookering. I boil the meat for about 30 minutes, leave it in hot water for hours or even overnight. By then it would have softened after which I boil again for another 20-30 minutes, dem no born am well make e no soft. Na to improvise sure pass with the way things are going in this country

Hmmmm onions. Thanks for the tip. I'll try it out

Food / I Cooked Beans Within 32 Minutes! by GYBABA(m): 11:45am On Dec 08, 2023
Country hard and food is expensive and as of now, I personally think beans is one food item that I get to eat which fills me up for long and at the same time, not to expensive. I normally cook 1 and a half cup & it's more than enough to fill me the whole day. For this reason, I've been eating beans frequently. It's about #1400 to #1500 per Congo here in Ibadan for Oloyin beans. Some other varieties are sold as low as 1k per Congo. This method would save your gas or kerosene & it's not for people in a hurry. I tried it after reading about it online. I think it's called "Dry Cooking Method".

So this morning, I decided to cook beans. I cooked Oloyin beans in particular and I cooked it in just about 32 minutes without using Potash (Kaun) or whatever it is most of you use. I know the next question on your minds is the "How?". LFG!

1. The steps matter.
2. I used a thick pot to retain heat (there's a reason for this).
3. I cooked at high flame levels.
4. The cover of the pot has to fit the pot so well, so tightly that the heat won't escape.
5. This will only work when cooking small quantity of beans. Mine is 2 cups. It will take longer when cooking in large quantity. This method is for students & single people who cook for just themselves. Family people, sorry you hear? So I'll head to the steps now.

Whether you're using gas or stove, all the time the beans is on fire, the flame level should be high.

I first made sure the beans boiled. Took about 10 minutes at high flame level, then I switched off the gas & allowed the beans soak in hot water for about 1 hour still inside that same pot. I used a thick pot as it retains heat more than light pots so this kept the water hot within the 1 hour period & it was covered throughout so the heat won't escape.

After 1 hour, the beans had gotten a bit soft. I switched on the gas & turned on the flame to be high. Within 15 minutes, it was already soft after which I added the remaining ingredients apart from onions. I added onions immediately after the 1 hour break.

The remaining 7 minutes was to let the ingredients seep in. Took me exactly 32 minutes with high flames.

There you go fam! Na hard economy make me discover this even though I'm sure some of you here know a faster way even without using extra resources or pressure cooker. If you do it please share, I'm still trying to discover how to cook beans within 5 minutes šŸ˜‚ Oga Tinubu, you do this one. Na you motivate me. Thank you sir!

You didn't mention your death, are you immune to death.
I don't wish you death, but it might be what will bring you all together after a long time.

Please think well before airing your thoughts. Is the death of someone you hate so much cause you true pain to want to change something negative to positive? Isn't it the death of someone loved & reverred that can trigger genuine reconciliation atleast for the sake of her memory? Think, man, think!

it all depends on upbringing. Were you guys brought up with love? The death of your father supposed to bring in guys together and achieve a goal.

Plus another factor is the most senior amongst the siblings. The first born failed on his responsibilities.

Iā€™m talking from experience but my own case is that we lost both parents. We made it among ourselves to stand as strong. Thereby surprising our late dads enemies.

We were definitely brought up in love. My mom being the sole breadwinner after dad died tried her best to make sure we never lack. Due to this, she never had much time for us. Hence the freedom & too much freedom sometimes can have repercussions.

Your mom should bring ye'all together in love now that she's still healthy/alive. Once she's gone, it's going to be difficult for you guys to function as siblings. And you'll all transfer the bad blood to your kids who will not relate well with their cousins.

Trust me, that woman is trying but the preference she has for some over other blinds her sometimes in order to be objective but truth be told, she tries. Even the days of peace when we're together are as a result of her peace keeping efforts but we're all adults & we have conflicting egos & pride. There's only so much she can do to keep the peace

You guys just need to make it work, the eldest should try down his ego n talk to others, just pretend to be foolish, maybe buying gift for them or just giving them cash

It's a she. She left pretty early to go hustle & she's doing well but she focused so much on the development of herself that she doesn't care of her siblings coming together. Even if someone is going to act foolish, it's definitely not her. She got her pride.

My own family is dysfunctional infact it has been since my father died. My mother is an easy going person, very nice, not strict, disciplinary & has a habit of giving us a lot of freedom. This is in a way created a void among us. All 5 of us, we separated early. My mum is still the only one that has a good healthy relationship with all of us but amony us the siblings, the relationship too toxic. Can't remember the last time we all gathered together the same place. Even at that, we pretend to be good for like the first 2 days then boom, kasala go burst starting from conflict of two till everyone yabs themselves & then we scatter again not to meet for a long time. My grandpa's burial in 2020 caused us all to meet. Since then, we haven't met & I don't think anything is going to bring us all together again except maybe my mum's burial & I sure say big fight go still happen then. Until then, may death no kill my sweet beautiful yellow mama for me. I too love that woman die.

If you've watched THE KUJUS, my family is something like that.
