The money agberos make go to the unions and then to the government's pocket. I am certain those funds are unaccounted for even though they run into billions yearly. It is the best "chop and clean mouth" system any government has ever come up with grin

Are you trying to compare this to Lagos?..in supporting the point you are trying to make...and the other thread...can't you show us multiple hawkers in one shot?...and why only water they all sell?...is that all Americans drink? ...don't they eat as well? You talk about being stuck in traffic.....did it ever cross your mind that the hawkers are a major reason of the traffic jams? Would you support in the name of making an honest living people bringing cows or furniture to sell on the street? Every major city has hawkers....street vendors... but it is regulated by law....and enforced. Lagos has same on books...but only now being enforced. The message is clear....the streets of Lagos is no longer a free for all....where you can leave your state or little village or wherever and make the streets of Lagos your place of business. Too bad if in life people have but two choices to make a living....sell in the streets ...or be a criminal. Either choice means you are ready to face prison.
Like there are no Lagosians hawking on the streets of Lagos. What about the agberos that collect N20 from hard working drivers and conductors who left their state to come to Lagos to hustle? What do they do with the money?

The pay on delivery is the best system for the Nigerian market considering the peculiar nature of Nigerians . But it can be modified to also protect the seller too.
E-commerce was not built on the foundation of pay on delivery. That is a Nigerian thing because we do not have trust for ourselves.

The best products to sell online to the Nigerian market are services and subscriptions. I have been enjoying less fuss since I switched from products to services. cool

Here are verses that adjured man to alleviate the indigence of the less privileged

1. Proverbs 19:17
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

2.Proverbs 14:21
Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor.

3.Proverbs 14:31
Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.

Who made those people poor ? Man . Man's avarice put his fellow human in such bad condition . Why blame God ? Man takes advantage of systems that would enable him exploit the needy or the commoner . And God's reply is that you should help those people in need . Instead of putting of their pic questioning God , locate them and make their lives better with whatever you have .

When will these atheists ever learn ? Stop using the adversity of poor to question God , help them . God didn't put them in bad state , the actions of your fellow man did .
And what did god do about it? Sit back and do nothing?

If you had enough money, wouldn't you help?

But your god, the almighty Jehovah who created the universe sits back and watches man destroy man.

Remember that Isaiah 45:7 says "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

No matter how your try to dispute it, your god is responsible. And according to the fairytale, it created Satan in the first place and sat back, even at the beginning of time while Satan tempted Eve to eat the fruit. It's incompetence and nonchalance has existed from the beginning of time. Instead of forgiving Eve and Adam since that was their first sin and teach how to apologize, the dumb dumb cursed them and the whole humanity. What a loser undecided

Gladly enough, it is not real and until men start acknowledging that and stop expecting "paradise" then we will continue to have problems like these.

With objective morality , I can easily know when something is wrong or not . Christ stopped the stoning of the adulterous woman and deplores unlawful killing - this means that jungle justice for their thieves and gays is wrong . My church prays for sinners - gays , robbers etc - and lead them to repentance not stone or burn them or even condemn them . With OM , I can tell that it is wrong for our leaders to peculate funds or fail to do their duties .

The Christians are impervious to adversities caused by the practices of venal politicians - that's the effect of prayers .

grin

That is an exaggeration because Mao ended the lives to close to 50 million people - that's close to 25 percent of Nigeria's population . This despicable act was done in 4 years . With objective morality , I can agree that both Mao and corrupt Nigerian politicians are bad people , sadly this is not so with subjective morality which atheists subscribe to .

You are nescient about Mao's reign - to be laconic , it was a disaster . He did achieve a few things but they are picayune when compared to his failed goals . Again , the Christians are impervious to the adversities caused by Nigeria's moribund economy . Christ also adjured his followers to help one another in times of need .

Mao was an evil man . "No" , the answer to Mao being good

His morality is being questioned because we are in the religion section .

Lol . Hahn , stoppet grin

Pastors don't approve of the acts of corrupt politicians . And we are not gullible , atheists are . You believe everything your high priest Richard Dawkins says . Atheists are sheep and he had to be the shepherd - the irony though .

Lol . This is why the morality of the atheist -subjective morality - need to be checked . I should "get with the program " - indulge in reprehensible acts like the corrupt politicians ? No ! I subscribe to objective morality cool

You should have thought about that before trolling Christian threads and looking all intellectually supercilious . Young minds think atheism is simply denying God's existence . This would show them that its far worse than that . Atheism will give rise to dysfunctional families and a sharp moral decline - we Christians deprecate such .
Hahaha. Lol

So, with a church, at least, on every Nigerian street we still burn thieves, still kill and humiliate gays, have the most corrupt politicians on the planet, are unable to provide constant power supply, provide quality healthcare, good roads or adequate infrastructure for ourselves and you feel prayers work or that your all powerful god is a better option?

Nigu please undecided

For every Mao, we will definitely have 100s of corrupt Nigerian politicians. Every discerning mind can figure that out for themselves.

At least Mao was able to achieve his goals and the Chinese, who were on the same level with Nigeria have risen to the top of the economic index while Nigeria's Allah and Jehovah driven economy is depreciating further down the drain.

Meanwhile, what the hell does this statement mean, "So I ask ... Is Mao Zendong a good or an evil man ? As a christian , the obvious answer is NO but to an atheist his morality is contentious . Their intelligent answers will obviously help us scrutinize subjective morality - the type of morality all atheists subscribe to"

NO to what exactly? That NO he is an evil man or NO, he is a good man? undecided

What exactly brings his morality into question? He achieved his aim or not? That should be the question.

Bubu, even if all atheists say that Mao was a saint, for every one of such opinion there is a Pastor somewhere like Adeboye, Kumuyi, Osinbajo, Oyedepo praying for, blessing, supporting, mingling and receiving "tithes and offering" aka bribes to confuse gullible followers like you from corrupt politicians.
