Low IQ post. The Nigerian Army of 20 years ago would put that soldier in detention for not maintaining his weapon. Too many guys on Nairaland are too young and ignorant. This is actually a blame that goes to that soldier. If you dont know, find out. Shallowness is not permitted in this age of knowledge. The word 'obsolete" even shows poor education. Look at the meaning in the dictionary. Obsolete means " no longer in use because of being outdated" . An oboslete machine gun does not have to jam. An equipment can be obsolete and reliable and a brand new model equipment can fail. Actually brand new equipments fail more often because of run in failures or design issues that did not come up during testing.
Educate yourself, think hard and critically before posting nonsense.

Below are countless reasons rifle jam/malfunction and its not only specific to your limited reasoning.

(Educate yourself)^

Since the army using it didn't tell you why the rifle jammed, it is simply idiotic of you to assume a particular reason from your remote location. I didn't talk about obselate or anything....I merely informed about the issue not being p

Hmmmmm All this beneficiaries of Nigeria trying to deny the other Nigerians the blessings of Nigeria angry

I tire with all this ex-military and political blocks that are hell bent on setting Nigerians against each other at every instance. Be it political, tribal, religious or economically. I support and don't mind a debate happening...The real worry is will it automatically solve the problem? It will need time to implement accept, considering is a change of how things are done you will happen to deal with people that may resist or respond different to it. People shouted democracy is the answer! Here we are 20 years later lamenting and wishing for things to get better.

Honestly we are good are deceiving ourselves and over rating certain things as the only solution to our problems. Anything can be made to work if only we are willing to walk to talk. Do the right things and be honest with each other. You can front an issue based on political sentiment and tribal sentiment and expect a different result. Anytime we are in deep shit suddenly Confab becomes important and urgent. When the parties lamenting get there way it goes silent. Am beginning to think that thing is gradually becoming a tool for intimidation rather than an ideal solution to problems.

It is time people take the bulls by the horn and do what is right QED. We build who we are....complain,blame or wish away till next century the issue begging for attention and solution will wait until you address it.
If you be leader lead well!
If you be police police well!
If you be soldier soldier well!
If you be neighbor neighbor well!
If you be politician politician well!
If you be doctor doctor well!
If you be .......!

How well do we Nigerians or Nigeria abide/enforce laws or regulations of the land. If we all comply to it am sure some good can be achieved even before a confab or legislative arm fine tunes it. Kidnapping becomes a menace we pass the death penalty on it. While the Police fail to capture the kidnapper or someone bails the suspect or family settle it behind the station! then same suspect is back doing it again. How will confab solve that. Will the kidnapper attend the confab or will his mind change after the confab? Or is it a failure of enforcement of the law?

Until we get this right and set the fabric of the nation right. An emergency confab will just be another assembly of political/tribal/religious champions without national interest.Promoting another round of selfish interest, struggling for greater control at the detriment of another. If truly people are fair about all this, how well have we as nation considered the traditionalists or all minority ethnic groups in Nigeria? Have we started addressing there worries ? I mean all previous confabs were not a true reflection of all diverse groups but a mere recognition and domination of the confab by the same major blocks. Muslims,Christians, major tribes, major political parties

Nigeria is diverse, when you do what is right that is for all and belongs to all....The issue at hand needs all to join hands to resolve it and not only a confab. After the confab then what? police go change, economy go change or people life go change? undecided undecided undecided In as much as it is good, its not the only solution. RIGHT ACTIONS have to be taken by all(Nigerians) for the good of all.

How did it happen? Why wasn't he having his helmet? How did his head get that close to the blade?

Where are the safety mechanism and training for such people to prevent such accidents.

I suggest that a serious investigation be carried out. In order to improve safety of persons working with or around such machines.

All Arabs migrated to Africa.

What people often mistake is whether speaking Arabic makes you Arab. The people can be Arab speaking and not necessary Arabs by ancestry. Just Like the Egyptians.

If you have read about Hannibal of Carthage you would realize there was a time different tribe or race occupied North Africa all together.

The civilization that later survived till this day eg. Arab/Islam is what we witness now.It doesn't mean they are Arabs really. Its also fair to say the Blacks were not majority in such enclaves even in the past.Libya at a time was not term an Arab country. It only later termed Itself Arab.

But reading history for instance will tell you places like Persia once turned to Arabia and then Iranian etc.Tribes and nation at one time or the other have cultural alignment that may have help integrate them to a thriving civilization at one time or the other.

Another close example is how alot of Southerners often see Northerners as all Hausa. We speak Hausa true and yes share some cultural or political interest but we definitely have our different tribes, language and cultural values still there.

Frankly I think we should be considerate....They may not deserve it but for the ones who sacrificed alot in such a hostile pro-PDP environment as the SE & SS and come out victorious they need to be appreciated. As for me it is only fair to give the SE & SS some key position in the NASS.

Please we should not be carried away by victory or the political hostilities. We still need to forge ahead and It is a core mandate that a UNITED NIGERIA is forged. In light of that APC should get to the roots of the differences with the SE and get them actively contributing to national development.

I strongly appeal to the APC to ensure fair distribution of key positions regardless,to ensure participation and integration. It's far more important that any act of domination by zones or party. If they are with us as a nation then there interest shall be cared for by the nation and If that is not the case then it's only fair to grant them the right to decide where they belong as a nation.APC should think about inclusion and unity. They should remember to dialogue and reach out to the hostile camp so as to get the nation moving in one direction, towards growth and revival.

APC has the lead now and it should lead well. They have a tall order and we are watching. Please don't make me regret my votes....unite the nation, heal the wounds, secure the nations interest and her people welfare, educate the population, return hope to the hopeless, let there be justice,Be fair and above all make Nigeria a Great nation.

Well the word Nyamiri is what Hausas any day anytime call Igbo in Hausa. So Making the word sound new to the Hausa speakers is rather mischievous.

Lastly Igbos are known for calling other tribes with demeaning names all the time Aboki,Afonja etc. So nothing new in this...Before we forget a priest did say 1 Igbo is better than plenty Hausas.

This response has all along been with the CCB.The presidency is merely using the CCb for political purposes. Now that the NJC has waded in the truth will finally be revealed. The CJN was right to challenged the jurisdiction of the CCT to try him as only the NJC has such powers.Irrespective of the appeal court ruling few days ago that is the position of the law and the supreme court will make it right soonest.

The FG were the ones that refused taking the matter to the NJC because they all along knew they had a very weak case. The NJC does not deal with newspaper reports. It wporks with petitions submitted to them. They should have been the first port of call for the CCB if they were sincere

Not sounding off point. What powers does the CCT & CCB have Do they have the power to look into any allegations brought before it or are certain people exempted? Is the CJN one of them?

Lastly what will happen if the CJN showed up and addressed issues? What happens If he did comply with the CCT? Does it take away his rights in anyway? Is it a test on his integrity or about jurisdiction, which is the case?...Cos I feel its more of the later, although due to all the media hype is seems more of the former. The CJN has spoken through more avenues outside CCT instead of simply facing the CCT and getting it over with.

If am eager to clear a bad name,I would see such a place where it was raised as where to bury it once and for all.Rather than look evasive.I can make up later with a law suit challenging the action sha!
Politics / Re: Onnoghen Explains Sources Of Foreign Deposits In His Accounts by hakanai(m): 10:31am On Feb 01, 2019
In as much you deserve the benefit of doubt. All the noise commotion and banters would have being avoided If you simply showed up made your case to the CCT and continue your life. Frankly showing up to answer for an allegation is just that. Show up make your case and await the verdict.

Why not do that CJN and save us all the interpretations, conspiracy and politicization of the matter. The whole thing for don dey hearing stage now and you for dey business jeje. No one has convicted you and you were given the podium to go make your case or point clear. Instead you are prolonging the matter and needlessly divert the issues compounding it even more.

If the Fed. Executive. arm made a blunder, what better way than to show up and make it clear and on point that such is the case. Honor the CCT then take back the advantage.

Or better still the Nigeria brown envelope media have turn direction towards campaign reports and candidates mud slinging. It is obvious the media can make Nigeria,a candidate or people seem anything they choose to the populace. If they are out to ruin you they can drown everything in the negative and if they are paid to make you positive they can make you or the occasion seem the star .

Everyday i think our media maybe responsible for the wrong impressions and tensions about Nigeria, tribes, religions and people with there choice of negative reportage. Also that has in itself affected us negatively globally cos its how we are then perceived. by there stories!!!

Politics / Re: Is The geographical "NORTH" More Populated Than The geographical "SOUTH" by hakanai(m): 1:31pm On Jan 08, 2019
Yes even when geographically the North covers more land mass and has more towns and communities than the south?

That in itself may negate the assumptions and positions of the south. As much as people shouldn't just sit somewhere, based on rumor or visited a handful of places or worse remain in an area to assume they are more of them than others.

For you to be an authority on the populations of south and North. You must have visited all 36 states plus Abuja and taken a fair number of communities and villages to conclude such.

As it stands the closest was done by the Population commission because it went far to cover more areas in collation than someone who just wakes up from sleep in his zone to say we are more than you numerically.

If such assumptions can be made then it is only fair to conclude my village is more populated. cheesy cheesy cheesy

They want grab power. Although I support the arrangement. It will reduce the tension at the centre because the PM is readily replacble than a president. Also power will come a little closer to the complex communities in Nigeria.

The emphasis on electioneering and many more will shift to low gear.Although serious politicking will come back to the house.
