Politics / Re: Can You U Go To War If Our Current President Is Killed Outside This Country by hakanai(m): 12:16pm On Oct 27, 2017
Regardless of how people feel it would obviously lead to a confrontation or conflict escalating if its not managed well. Being that it's not about Him but about the presidency of Nigeria the highest seat. Its an insult for any nation to do that. For people saying its nothing and a welcome development. Letting that slide amounts to be ready to accept it happening again to whoever comes to the position be it a good leader or not.

So protecting it is a natural way of discouraging an attempt so foolish. Also being that the organs for declaration are in a circle that will not think like most on NL. The Security organs, Fed-exe., NASS, Elders, supports etc Will not accept such in the name of Nigeria...
It easier saying nothing will happen.Than if it happens. undecided

Quite reasonable points! Well, given the context, wouldn't it be more ideal to refer to these people as 'assets', rather than agents? Just asking..

They are assets mostly, knowingly or unknowingly. Nigeria as a nation suffers the most treats from Nigerians.Like someone once said we hardly have much to bother in terms of external security/treats and alot to be concerned about with regards to our internal security/treats.

You can see the damage we inflict on the nation. It speaks volume on where we stand with regards to patriotism. At the moment concerns in Nigeria is the effort by nations to use Nigeria as a transit port for intelligence and also a regional tool to handle some matters in Africa or the UN assembly. Also collaboration in the Islamic matters(Sunni vs Shia) thingy and global terrorism.

What you have failed to do is provide us reliable facts or evidence. If there is serious credence to your conspiracy theory then our counter intelligence agencies should be the ones responding and not us going to confirm your allegations.Lastly if they are highly placed perhaps there so called principle or handlers should be working on getting them out don't you think?

The news you bring on the forum has always being going round. What is not adding up is why nothing has being done about it. Here is the thing you may not be an agent of a foreign entity but could be manipulated to meet the foreign needs of a nation such as the USA or UK.
What am saying is that all so called leaders (influential) either political, economical, regional etc in our country are suitable candidates for foreign powers. They build ties and use them to sustain there foreign interest with the nation and others. They don't have to be recruited or spies/agents. It could be a use and dump situation.Just for the required purpose and no serious strings attached.

All for us , due to poor nationalistic footings we are potential or willing agents. How patriotic are we or our so called leaders not to be manipulated or influenced by greed and worldly stuff in other to sacrifice national interest and pride?

What are you people taking us all for in this country? Do you think all of us are fools? Somebody opened a thread today with heading "Buhari, Daura And Magu At Jumat Service In Aso Rock (Photos)" but I have searched for that news all over the internet how come of all other popular news medias both online and on paper in Nigeria it is only here in nairaland you find this news?

This is a great crime to humanity, how much did you receive to Photoshop this picture to deceive citizens of Nigeria and

Show me another picture of president Buhari, show me another website in the entire web space apart from Niaraland where I can see this news/photo

I understand that Nairaland doesn't have news correspondence on ground otherwise I would have concluded you're working for Niaraland but, No! All of us are the news men here, and as small as a president of the smallest country in the world is, news men are following him everywhere he goes, how come you're the only one who got this news and the picture today? which media are you working for?

This picture is Photoshop, your photo-shopping work remains small to be perfect, because I can guess that the head if fixed on that body,

Here is the propagandized thread https://www.nairaland.com/3754983/buhari-daura-magu-jumat-service

The first photo was on the 7th April and the second 14 April both Jumat prayers were they also photoshoped.

Now if that is the not the case it would clearly suggest Fayose is a liar to suggest no one has seen the president in two weeks because the FEC meeting was postponed.

Your claim to have search online doesn't hold water. Except for this Friday you are disputing it would suggest he has being sighted in public in the last 3 weeks.

N15bn: NIA won’t go to court over recovered fund
By Abdul-Rahman Abubakar | Publish Date: Apr 17 2017 2:00AM

N15bn: NIA won’t go to court over recovered fund

The National Intelligence Agency (NIA) said it won’t take legal step at reversing the order of temporary forfeiture of the about N15 billion recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which it claims belongs to the agency.

A source at the NIA yesterday told Daily Trust that the agency would allow a Federal High Court in Lagos, deliver an order of permanent forfeiture of the fund to the Federal Government and then reclaim it later.

The source said “The money is going back to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the NIA will write to reapply for the fund, which was actually meant for a covert operation of the agency.”

The source further said the residence where the money was recovered by EFCC operatives at Ikoyi area of Lagos “Is a safe house of the NIA. You know this is a secret agency that is hardly in public glare. The money was meant for an operation and it was kept there and only spent with approval of the Presidency. The Presidency is aware of the funds and gave approvals for spending.”

On claims being made by the Rivers State Government to ownership of the money, the source said, “There is no iota of truth to such claim. Like I told you, the money belongs to the NIA and the agency has no reason to join this issue if it were not its money.

“What does the NIA stand to benefit from shielding any politician? The agency will never smear its reputation in such manner. The fund belongs to the NIA and the agency will follow appropriate steps in reclaiming it.”

Justice Muslim Sule Hassan of a Federal High Court in Lagos had last Thursday ordered temporary forfeiture of the recovered money. The EFCC had last Wednesday recovered the money, which included, $43,449,947, F27,800 and N23,218,000 at an apartment, located at flat 7B, No. 13 Osborne road, Osborne Towers, Ikoyi.

The judge adjourned till May 5, 2017 for person(s) to come before him to give reasons why the money should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. Aside the NIA, the Rivers State Government is also laying claims to money.

This is our best Easter in nearly a decade – Borno CAN
Parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Gwagwalada during the Service of the Light Easter Vigil on Saturday night.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) yesterday praised the efforts of the military for decimating Boko Haram insurgents so much Christians can celebrate Easter in Borno State without curfews and barricades.

The Chairman of the Borno State chapter of the association, Bishop Mohammed Naga, said it was Borno State’s first Easter in a peaceful atmosphere in nearly a decade.

Naga stated in a message during the NAF Day 2017 Celebration on the theme, ‘Consolidating Air Power Gains For Enduring Peace and Development,’ in Maiduguri yesterday, that the Christian community was grateful to God and the military for successfully fighting the ‘enemies of this country.’

He said: “It is the most peaceful Easter celebration we have had for the previous years. Since 2009, this year’s Easter is the most peaceful. Sometimes we celebrated Easter indoors, no vehicular movements, no visitations of friends. Honestly, we want to thank God and the military.”

The Commander 105 Composite Group of NAF Maiduguri, Air Commodore Charles Ohwo assured residents and troops that the fight against insurgency was almost done. “Now, we are in the last phase of fight against the menace of Boko Haram. We want to reassure that we are willing, able and ready as a service to live up to details of operations,” Ohwo said.

Did you read being relieved before the expiration of her tenor.
Do know the implication of that to a person's career and reputation even though we don't value reputations in Nigeria.

I read that and just like she is hired she can be replaced at anytime. If someone that employ you, tells you I don't need your service anymore then you should know is time. Not to begin to say it's a tribal matter. Let me tell you it has no implication particularly since is government work and not be junior staff. Heads of agencies are replaced or retired left right and center all the time. The wise ones always have there exit plan ready even before any new government comes to power.

She should be grateful to God and move on. Did she ever plan her appointment there or did she rise through the ranks.Check the daily's when she was appointed by GEJ in 2014.

https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/jonathan-nominates-anohu-amazu-as-pencom-boss/51074.html
" President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday forwarded the name of Mrs. Chinelo Anohu-Amazu to the Senate for confirmation as substantive director general of the National Pension Commission (PenCom).

Jonathan, in a letter addressed to Senate President David Mark, said the appointment was in consonance with the provisions of the Pension Reform Act 2004 as amended.
Anohu-Amazu has been in acting capacity since December 2012when the tenure of the former D.G. M. K. Ahmad ended. She started her working career in 1998, meaning her years of experience fell short of the requirement of the former law which informed the decision to reduce it to 15 years to enable her be appointed, our correspondent reports.
However, the proposal was opposed by lawmakers including Senate President David Mark in May last year who said it was wrong to enact a law to favour a particular individual.

Industry operators also faulted the move to lower the bar for a DG, saying it portends grave implications for a fast growing industry that controls more than N4 trillion.
Her appointment as acting DG in December 2012 had sparked crisis at PenCom given that she was due to retire at the time, having served for eight years as company secretary on the level of director.
On November 20, 2013, in the wake of the succession crisis, President Jonathan appointed Anohu-Amazu as commissioner representing the South-East zone on the PenCom board which paved the way for her to continue in acting capacity pending the passage of the controversial amendments to the extant law which had barred her from holding the office as she was not qualified then.
In April, 2013, Jonathan forwarded the Pensions Reform bill to the National Assembly in which he requested for the reduction of the years of experience needed for a director general of the commission from 20 to 15 years, ostensibly paving the way for the eventual appointment of Anohu-Amazu as substantive PenCom boss."

Why did the whole country turn red when one appointee named Sanusi lamido was replaced by Jonathan?

You all cried blood and ended up forming another party.

You should close your mouth because you are worse than a bigot.

When Sanusi fought GEJ it was not colored in same view and the support did not come from the tribal angle but from the political sphere. Unlike the Igbos and always making it because of the person ethnicity. Sanusi issues centered to the end on not keeping mute and when he declared finances being diverted. If he had being quiet. He would be CBN gov. to the end.

Please also remind us where his ethnicity was used or raised as reason for his sack or where his kinsmen made it a tribal thing apart from being political power play.

When you were appointed you should know immediately some day you will go. My take do your best and when is time leave. Shikenan! I remember the other onyi Ibo woman Onyeka who brought in tribal and religious issues into the issue of her sack. But before then she was all over kneeling in front of political figures both in APC and PDP.

I understand its sweet to be the boss and the power you get is intoxicating. Hence the possibility of such change being resisted, but it shouldn't be at the point of bringing more ethnic hatred. Its dangerous and does not help. At the end she would only lose supporters.

If she did well, then good or better working places will available to her considering her experience or she can start her own pension business if its what she likes doing. No need for too much issues.

Is it me or is it a coincidence that anytime an Igbo person is replaced it turns tribal

Why cant she go. she is an appointee and as such the people in charge have asked her to resign. I also don't believe that crap she is corrupt free. the way things are going, they (top shots)all have one crap or the other hidden from the public. until exposed she would seem a saint.

Sometimes a shuffle or replacement is the best way to ensure continuity and transparency. It is only when she is not there that she can be truly appreciated or judged for her goods or Bad. While she is there nothing can be seen. Its Nigeria same butt lickers would dump her for the new boss and stories about her escapades begin to surface.

She can't be there forever. All she needs to do is be glad God saw her through and she did her part. With her status she is not leaving as a junior staff. She would be well compensated except for the fact she loses the seat of boss.

Anyway tribalism will not bring anything good. The people accusing others of tribalism are even the ethnocentric beings. Full of wahala and always reading meaning from tribal prism all the time.I dey sure if the names of her supporters are brought forth you would see its her kinsmen which she has placed or influence there jollfing in pencom and beyond.
