I am just thinking that, when a football team got  match even when they are playing a home game, most competent managers has always kept their players together the night before the game in a hotel to promote team spirit and also prevent people arriving at different times with various circumstnces at homes.

Till now, why is it that INEC cannot device a way of keeping all their field workers together the night before the election on a local govt basis? Everybody will wake up at the same time, get ready, have breakfast together and  a standby coach/bus will ferry them along with all their materials/equiptment accompanied by a second bus/coach carrying their security appointee.

They will be dropped off at each person's designated polling booths or stations along with their equipments/security. There will be no one coming late due to many reasons each individual may encouter in their various homes. It will solve the problem of logistics, it will solve the problem of field workers being compromised left at their own device. It will promote camaradies among them as privilege chosen few, which can sharpen their enthusiasm to do their job.

A bulk of inec's adhoc staffs are corps members. After several years of the NYSC scheme, most local government areas in the country still don't have decent accommodation for Corp members and you think it easy for Jega to just wake up someday and probably book hotel rooms for them. Everything is wrong with our present government and we neea a break from PDP.

If chartering taxis and okadas will stop PDP from diverting election materials, then it's better. Our security outfits have a reputation of been used by corrupt politicians to rig elections. Why then will anyone be wondering why Jega choose not to use them??

^^ Nice one. What we need is a total overhaul of the electoral system which the PDP lead government as refused to do. PDP is a failure as far as I am concerned. With better structures/legislation on ground, most of our problems will be solved.

^^^ His fears are the big containers filled with fake ballot papers allegedly found in the houses of some prominent traditional rulers. The RECs already bought by incumbent governors and senators in most state. There are several angles to this. Naija is the most complex place on this planet.

Sounds funny to you right What really are INEC's logistic problems? What stops us from having sensitive materials in Nigeria some days before election? The simple answer is the inability of our security agencies to guarantee the safety of such materials. That's a failure on the part of government.
We have the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (whatever) that can hardly meet it's obligations in other sectors talk less of producing coded ballot papers; another failure on the part of government. The bottom line is that Jega is working under a very difficult situation. A Maurice Iwu would definately have announced results despite elections not holding in several places. Let's give the guy a chance and come out to vote instead of just criticizing all the time

Everyone that believes in him should just support him with prayers. Our politicians are ever ready to frustrate your effort no matter how much you try. Jega is a good man and I believe he will not yield to their pressures at this point.

Doing things right in an environment like ours is more difficult than anything you can think of. Jega needs to be strong, I still respect the man.

@ sartorious Are you for real?? Strong house, mini strong house at zonal level. Have you heard how our politicians arranged and kept money in the strong rooms of some banks in Abuja without recording any transaction when Obj and Atiku were sharing tax payers money for and against third term?? I believe Jega did everything in the interest of the common man, he tried to make sure nothing fell into the wrong hands. Off course it didn't work out but I strongly believe it will.
The widely accepted voters registration encountered numerous problems at the beginning but later went well.
The failure of the PDP government in the past 12 years has made many things difficult including Jega's job. The man had to keep asking for money to provide most things that ordinarily should be in place.
1. Inverters to charge laptops used for registration and even generators for practically all registration areas.
2. Accommodation for Corp members used when by now we should have corpers lodge in practically all wards, aren't there corpers serving their?
No one listened to Jega when the man was lamenting over the spate of court cases that trailed the various party primaries.
Inec's failure today is as a result of the failure of the PDP government in the last 12 years.

Iwu a big hero!! Are you for really?? The voters registration despite initial hiccups has shown that Jega and Iwu are on different levels. Jega has got integrity, the failure of the PDP government in past twelve years includes inadequate structure on ground for the conduct of elections. You're not expecting Jega to fix a 12 year problem in 6 months, are you??
