You guys should stop judging people for the decisions and actions they take, because someone does not go to the popular destinations does not mean they don't know what they are doing, no be everybody go go uk, us or Canada(overhyped country). And besides he just wants to get the passport and move wetin come be your own |

CalmTravels: *Updates*
When you get your visa…
Have enough money that can sustain you for, at least, 4 weeks before you move. Because, it’s not always easy in a new country. You don’t know how the system works and will be discomforted for a while. So prepare well.
If you meet people from your country, they will be more than willing to help you settle down. But they will disappear if you can’t even pay for your meals. Yes, they will disrespect once they found out you are in dire. Best is always to avoid them & Arabs initially. Maybe when you have discovered stuffs yourself and have balance a bit you can socialize. They will cause you the most depression. I understand most of their excuse: Nobody abroad needs more bills and extra luggage. They have plenty headache already, don’t add to it. That's hogwash though, assistance sometimes isnt above money but direction or place holder. However you that is japing should Come prepared.
If you’re going on a student visa, use Social Media to look up other international students in the school and people living around that town… connect with them and ask relevant questions. They are more likely to help.
You can also contact the office of international student affairs in the school and request them to connect you with other students from your home country. They will do this without hesitations.
The people you meet first when you enter a country matters a lot. Be careful the details and private information you share. Be open so people can relate with you but be smart. People send information. Yes, people do lots of informal side hustle to make up short falls in the living expenses.
Be prepared to learn and unlearn. Some of the things you value in your home country is nothing abroad, and vice versa. One thing i must warn you, be original. People will try to force you to live a fake live of you have made it, because almost every immigrant i run into do it, especially blacks & Arabs. I had this experience of an African Arab trying to impress it that he is someone important, while me i am one black monkey struggling to cop. He was shocked how most German babes & guys flock to me. Me i dont dress well ohhh, but when you come close you go understand, as i fit spend $200 on dinner for any person head, boy or girl. One white politely fall his hand by asking if he has started working there, he quickly retorted he is *Volunteering****** Lol. Me body just sweet me small. Since then the Morroccan dey avoid me like say na me ask am wetin he dey do for the facility. Guy na cleaner he dey do! No form pass your self. No follow other immigrants form pass your self, this is a real live story. I kept my originality and made useful Connects citizens of Norway, Austria, Germany & Switzerland. People can smell fake from a long distance.
Land in a popular airport if it’s your first time. You may have a connecting flight to airport closest to your destination, but it’s better to land in a popular airport.
Port of Entry is where your fate will be decided. Your visa is just valid for you to get to that port of entry. Always dont look at the immigration officer. Focus on something else as if you dont give a shit about their fucking country. Dont appear desperate to come to their country. If he is a Conservative he will pour his frustrations of Left politics on you!
Carry African food. Don’t worry about rice and noodles , you will find them abroad. Most processed foods are cheap.
Accommodation. If possible, sort it before moving. But you can sleep in hostels for a few days as you look for a place. Be sure about where you will sleep that first day of arrival. Now, there are lots of low priced hostels....not hotel for you to even sleep for one week. Plan your way & take over your hustle.
Agents or your friend that said they would pick you from the airport may switch off their phones when you land or they’re busy, so plan for that emergency. They usually do. When ever you guys reconnect, they pop up the excuse with a smile and expect you to forget it.
Lastly, make sure you appease your village people, all the local demons wey dey una village........Lol
Calm Travels wish you all the best in your travels.
If you find this post interesting, share, tell a friend that we can help them migrate from Africa to Europe *Legitimately* guy i know say you be travel agent from start i just dey look you |

ednut1: is UK not in Europe , what of the nurses, IT, doctors and accountants that have gone recently or those born there . In the places you are talking about like German, Finland and co, one there is language barrier, two many of the Nigerians there never had a sellable skill to begin with . Nothing stops them from learning skilled work like electricians, plumbing etc. Or going to upskill in lucrative fields. I have friends in Germany who learnt IT and are currently working in the field. Last last everyone has their reason for Japa, some are happy with those jobs you listed bro you're right my uncle who stays in Germany is doing great for himself, the only European country i will not advice people to go to is cyprus Ukraine |

pansophist: Yea, you spelled it correctly. It's a Swedish university in Vaasa. It's prestigious and one of the best in the country and in the world. Lots of Nigerians are there.
Sorry mate. Believe me, getting in was very easy then, unlike now, and it will be harder in the future as naira falls further. Good morning which is better Finland or Canada since they both have easier access to permanent residence after studies and the same weather and climate. |

Bro find a way to get a student or work visa to Poland, Spain, Portugal, Italy or France, Germany is not an immigration friendly country especially for asylum seekers, they just deported some nigerians on a charter flight back to naija last week. |

tensazangetsu20: Go the h1b section on Reddit you will shed tears. If you are going to school in the US make sure you get married, don't wait on H1B nonsense. it's even worse for indians their wait for green card na die, by the way are you studying in Canada. The Mexican passport is still a good one to me sha, at least it's better than a Nigerian passport lol |

Gerrard59: It takes longer for the parents to become citizens. Mexico is faster, and TN visa side-steps the problem of being sponsored. The second or third child can be birthed in the US. The parents need to access the US labour market to earn good money and bequeath the child with a strong passport. Mexico does it beautifully. Honestly, that was a brilliant idea from our resident Minister for Immigration Affairs, Tensazangetsu20: surprisingly the Mexican passport is a strong one visa free to 160 countries |

worry357: Simple answer Your children will hate you forever for depriving them of an upbringing in an advanced country. They will curse you until they dance on your grave. or you cry in secret when your children become gay or transgender without you doing anything about it due to the western government supporting them and besides she and her children have dutch passport who told you they cant move back to the west and become successful after living in Nigeria |

Travel › Re: My Journey To Hanoi, Vietnam by hammed71(m): 7:47pm On Apr 16, 2023 |
WhyNa: Just some input...
I really don't know about the other countries you mentioned so I'll just speak for Vietnam.
When covid hit, things got bad for everyone but NES were hit the most. Why? Those guys are big flexers so do the maths.
But that's not even the issue.
In late 2021/2022 when the world started adjusting and opening their doors, that's when it became RED for teachers in Vietnam.
We were at HOME for ONE WHOLE YEAR. Guess who was affected again This time around, there was mass exodus of NES. Like the way you carry buckets to stream to fetch water, they left enmass. Also, guess who stayed strong?
To make matters worse, in that time, government started clamping down on fake visas, people entering as tourist and remaining to teach, people teaching without degrees and documents and this made both entering and return difficult for NES as well as continued exit.
My point, I honestly don't think other countries shutting down had much effect on this.
Yes experience counts. Yes accent counts (in the bigger cities), skin colour, yes ome centers will tell you that's what parents want. Others who have worked with both NES and NNES know quality and are indifferent. They look at what you have to offer and dedication which majority of them NES don't have
Also, sometimes, it's not about being paid well but about the cost of living and how much you're able to save afterwards.
Just my input Do you still have plans of moving to other countries from Vietnam or do you plan to settle there |
