emmanuelewumi: I am sorry I don't invest in what I don't understand, unregulated Investments and High Yield Investment Schemes
I remember you wanted me to invest in your logistics business about 3 years ago which I politely turned down and advised you on what you needed to do in other to get fund from banks and finance houses..
Never knew you still have a grudge with me because of this.
Ponzi schemes will give about 3% of the participants money but 97% will lose money big time.
There is a relationship between people who invest in Ponzi schemes and dead stocks which can give the lucky few a 200% return in few months I wouldn't want to respond but i believed my discussion with you on this was personal. . Let me state sir, it has nothing to do with our discussion on you not investing except you're trying to announce that to the public. Infact, you gave me an invaluable advice. I have left the business for a while (I didn't loose neither did I gain-financially-as I thought I would- another story for another day in starting a business in Nigeria) but most importantly for me was the lessons learnt during the short time of operation has been an experience I can only learn in practical. I am into a Tech Start up with a team and we have over 32k users in our App Beta version in just less than a year: The success of this will also enable me integrate an ingenious approach in logistics on a long term basis. I also earn considerable well in one of the major industry in Nigeria. I have no grudge based on need from you at the moment or in the past. it was a short response to a question I raised here sometime..I can't even remember the scenario but your response wasn't what I expected. I am not close to where you are and someday I believe I will reach and pass. Also, I keenly follow your posts and admire your thoughts and advice on this forum. You are BIG sir . I'm just stating the obvious that not all of us are equal in knowledge..there wasn't need to respond in relation to Ponzi Scheme. An ordinary man will utter some word and its nothing but a President will utter that same word and he is held accountable. Thank you for all your contributions. I'm still following your keenly on your investment strategies. God bless you sir. |

sonofElElyon: I noticed myself something I considered a warming signal ! Obviously i didn't want to invest without explanations regarding this.. insulting me isn't the way to go please.. Someone telling me to burn my money instead of investing isn't an insult.. it's simply emphasizing how worthless and money wasting the investment would be. Saying i invest in ponzi on the other hand is downright insulting.. I don't talk to people that way and won't be spoken to like that either.. same way someone here said i must be high for listening to Peter's advice. The same mercy and co jumped to the person's defence.. I maintain my position that blind loyalty operates here.. if not let me see you correct Emmanuel ewumi for saying without proof that i invest in ponzi scheme and digital agric !!! Chief.. RabbiDoracle: This was the post that started the admonition.
This first post showed that you were about making decision to buy something 'toxic' perse.
And your attention were drawn to the fundamentals of what you want to buy. Maybe you got upset when you were referred to as ponzi investor. This shouldn't make you have such hard feelings.
Now you talk of Mcy supporting people. Do you know she lost money trading Skyebank (when it was nationalised on Sunday morning) after people warned her about the same fundamentals that Unity Bank is exhibiting today?
I do not think it is a cabal thing being created. They are only helping you to make an informed decision. One poster even said you should set your money ablaze instead of buying the stock.
Can the stock rise due to uninformed investing? Yes. Can you make money using technical analysis? Yes. But they are just drawing your attention on the fundamentals of this bank which if all that applied to Afribank, Union Bank, Bank PHB, Skyewere to apply to this same bank, you will not be happy.
We knew this bank since SLS time o. So no be today the bank don dey like that. It has political clout.
It is not a cabal thing. They are only telling you to be careful. That response was also uncalled for sir. I am with sonofElElyon on this matter Pa emmanuelewumi (which I do respect) did something similar likewise to me which has made me stop posting. Even though I am not knowledgeable, There are better ways to put up a response. |

Lovelygbems: We run investment packages....one of the many financial instruments...that's what we seek approval for and not on any of our other businesses
If you read the statement well, you'd see where we stated that we used to do it among a few people and share profits....it was when we started to go large scale we sought them out for approval
Now, I feel I need to explain better what we do here to clear misconceptions...
If you watch LIONS DEN on TVC, you would have a fair understanding of what we do....
As a holding company,we have controlling interests in these businesses
A private equity it is because they have not gone public yet
Now, what you call "jack of all trades" is what we call not putting our eggs in one basket....
These companies we target (both start ups and buy outs) are researched to be in key sectors such as oil and gas, dredging, real estate, Agriculture etc
Now, you say high interest rates....but is it high interest rate without the right time value?
For example,
I ask you to Invest 10m in our petrochemical to pay you interest and capital back in two years.....
In just one of our sales outlets, we can get this money in a week....not to talk of two years
Again, i ask you to invest same amount in our pepper farm in one year....pepper matures in 3 months.....we would have gotten profits four times over before we share with investors
Are these not viable businesses? Can you call them Ponzi?
These are not audio businesses....they exist and are functioning well
The idea of having many again is not to have our eggs in one basket. Believe it or not, we have thousands of investors we are accountable to
It isn't possible that all these businesses won't bring in profit at thesame time....
So we understand the business space quite well
Those that have gone under probably didn't diversity well or have a strong and experienced management team
We are not a one to two man business....we have a team of experts in our top management team.....those who have attended world class business schools
We are striving to be the exception....and we would continue to do so I'm so sorry.. Not to mean you ain't telling the truth....but just that I've heard this kind of rinsed formats many many times They all ended in tears Good luck to your business and investors. |

I will advice if you wish to enter NGX be interested in NGX and forget any negative comments you most have read about the NGX otherwise once you have some reservations before you even start it will still look complicated even after many years.
If you don't mind, to start with NGX click the link on my signature to open a cscs and trading account with investment one stockbrokers within 72hrs you will be onboard.
You can also be assisted and trained on how to buy or sell stocks.
I wish you all the best. Onboarding on US stock is still easier. Dividend processing on NGX is even annoying |

Investing in real estate by building house(s) for tenants is pretty much a bad idea.
I see some folks build exotic houses in remote places for rent, I pity them. Only if they knew about dividend investment or even Money Market securities. And some buy luxury in tenants house. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by handsomebolanle: 10:55am On Aug 26, 2021*. Modified: 11:31am On Aug 26, 2021 |
kolaish: The only thing you may likely gain in having a tenement building is tying your money down for a long time and selling the building twice the money you spent building it after about 10 years. Beside that, be prepared to start receiving news of the well/borehole is not working, overhead tank is leaking, roof is leaking, tenants fighting each other, shower or toilet seat is no longer good, the gate needs to be repaired, thieves came into the house and they want you to raise the fence etc, all of these from the meagre amounts they are paying you.
Let me use one of the house I built for tenants as an example. The house is a block of 4 units of 3 bedroom flat. it was built in Ibadan in 2014 for around N32m (land inclusive). The annual rent is 350k for each flat; making N1.4 annually. But sincerely speaking, there is no year that you will get that N1.4m as a whole. Some tenants will not pay giving you stories, of which some are actually true. Infact, I have to engage the service of an agent (with 5% fee) to avoid all these head aches.
I would sell the house next year and put the money on a dividend paying stock from which I can benefit either from capital appreciation or dividend. However, this is not to say that building for tenancy is not good at all. There are some instances where you build on nice location where rents is juicy and high. Currently building a house for someone and personally as a supervisor on this site, I don't envisage this things you mention. I have told the client not to cut cost on somethings and very standardized durable material/architecture was put to thought in the building(because I'm trying to avoid some of the things mentioned in real estate). We have about 5k+ litres of water (infact we pump water like once-twice in a week). Also a house keeper and a flat utility fee. Metering in ikeja has been quite challenging. The electrical connection was over standard with original breakers and Generator port . People say we have done too much even NEPA officials . We had a future outlook to ensure the facility will have a future minimal maintenance cost. Maybe time will reveal more challenges and it will be an opportunity to learn. I'm looking forward to the challenges for a next building I will begin soonest. For the tenants that will want to owe , we also have consideration that will be revealed. An estate management company does that |
