I wonder what Nigeria is waiting for... The government is making it look like Nigeria is more Islamic than other countries that have banned it, for crying out loud , this crisis started in Nigeria yet the government did little to checkmate this method being used by these terrorist to inflict pain on innocent citizens.

Our government should wake up and do something urgently.

Desperate times call for desperate measure.

Sports / Emenike Rubbishes Story He Has Converted To Islam by Handsomeemmy(m): 6:20pm On Jul 06, 2015
Emmanuel Emenike has dismissed as untrue a report claiming that he has converted to Islam from Christianity.

The Fenerbahce striker was missing when the squad had breakfast on Saturday, prompting the manager to ask of his whereabouts and he responded by telling the coach he was fasting, this coincidentally is within the Muslim Ramadan fasting.

New Fenerbache coach wants Emenike to stay

The former Spartak Moscow hit man told AfricanFootball.com he is baffled by the leaking of his personal life to the media.

"The report that I am now a Muslim is absolute rubbish and false. I want the source of the news to re-address it. I have no reason to convert to Islam even though I have lots of Muslim friends. Is there any big deal observing fasting during the (Muslim) fasting period?” he asked rhetorically.

"I am very disappointed seeing the news going viral because it is something I told my coach in our conversation when he asked me a question and never said I have become a Muslim. Fasting is not what everybody should know that you are doing and it’s very sad seeing this in the media."

Emenike further told AfricanFootball.com: "I am Catholic, a strong one for that matter, and I came from Christian home. I don't discriminate against anybody and I believe we are all equal in the presence of God, so what is the big deal in fasting?

“Does he know how many time I fast to get closer to God before the fasting periods? It's really sad because I don't see it as a big deal."

Killing free citizens that are guarantee freedom of expression under the constitution of the federal republic and under the Africa and United Nation charter on human right and freedom of expression because of a Prophet that has died in a long while(who will not approve of this action) and claiming to do it for God who asked no one to fight for Him is wrong, I hope they appeal the ruling.

The government of Kano state has breached their freedom of expression.

Overdue decision... The proliferation is a source of concern, we are not in a full war situation, most of these paramilitary abused the usage, they wear it any day, time and place and that's not suppose to be, in most military formation, they have specific day for wearing it, in kano before the boko haram stuff, it is normally worn on Wednesday or when a soldier is on both internal and external duty, in a war situation like in the North-east and special operation state like Kano, it has become an everyday uniform.
The police in the biggest abuser of this brand of uniform.

That's good of them.

The medical staff and student we have here in Nigeria only know how to fight for pay and who becomes the CMD of Hospitals, they have forgotten about the Sanctity of Human life.
All they know here in Nigeria is to go on strike thereby holding government and patient hostage.

I am not saying that everything is right, but give it to them, the government really tried this time, propaganda and sentiment has blinded the eyes of some people, I know of five people that applied but only one of them was picked, and there was no Oga at the top that helped him.
I believe to a large extent, the list is fair same with that of FAAN recruitment.

I paid 30,000 plus delivery money and I made use of this guys www.etx-ng.com though expensive but I know if I go by myself, the stress and sorting will be too much for me to bear.

Federal government bought New weapons and you don't expect the Nigerian soldiers to have mastered the weapons immediately it arrived.

Secondly, what evidence you have to proof that they are South Africans? For all I know they can be Tutors on weapon system seconded to Nigeria from the countries where the Weapons were purchased from.

You people look for every slight opportunity to embarrass the government and the military , Posterity will never forgive you guys.

The op forgot that we have American soldier training our military on new weapon technology and usage.

Must everything be politics to you people?

I am beginning to believe the person that said APC and her faithful do every morning when they wake up is to pray for tragedies in Nigeria so as to have another opportunity to score political point and embarrass the government.

Lastly...... Never again shall this Nation be held captive.

Jonathan visits Mubi, heads to Baga
February 26, 2015. Austin Ajayi and Ola' Audu

President Goodluck Jonathan has visited Mubi in Adamawa State, more than three months after Nigerian troops recaptured the town from the insurgent group, Boko Haram.

The president arrived Yola international airport at about 10.45a.m. Thursday, accompanied by the by chief of Air Defence staff and all the service chiefs and the inspector general of police. He later travelled by helicopter to Mubi.

At Mubi, Mr. Jonathan met with the Emir of Mubi, Isa Ahamadu, and the people of the area.
There were unconfirmed reports that the president visited Vintim village in Mubi, the home town of Nigeria’s Defence Chief, Alex Badeh.

But security sources told PREMIUM TIMES that from Mubi, Mr. Jonathan was to travel to Baga in neighbouring Borno State.

Baga was reclaimed by government troops last week after Boko Haram militants overran the town killing hundreds and displacing thousands.
Mr. Jonathan and his administration have been widely criticised for their handling of the Boko Haram crisis, and the failure of the government to stem attacks against civilians.

Ahead of elections, the government has apparently stepped up effort against the terror group with multiple towns liberated by soldiers.
The government has also announced new measures to raise the morale of its combat forces.

On Wednesday, the Army Chief, Kenneth Minimah, visited Baga where he announced that troops who liberated the town will be automatically promoted to the next rank.

A top security chief in Borno state who spoke on anonymity said Mr. Jonathan was heading to Baga, but refused to give further details.
“Of course the president will be going to Baga today but the trip is not being handled by us here. I believe it is not something big but just a confidence building visit for the troops,” the source said.

Mr. Minima, a Lieutenant General, had said during his visit Wednesday that given the successes achieved by the troops in Baga, the president might likely visit the troops.

The Israel Defense Forces, more than any other organization, represents Israeli society. It is a melting pot that includes soldiers from all ethnic, religious and racial backgrounds, men and women, but even this human collage always has something new. For example, Israel's first female Nigerian officer, Lieutenant Toby Cohen, 21, who was born in Nigeria to a Nigerian mother and Israeli father. Her parents and 8-year-old sister live in the town of Kanu in northern Nigeria, while she immigrated to Israel on her own at the age of 17. Cohen serves in the Homefront Command.

"Even when I was 3 years old I knew I wanted to come to Israel. My father was born here and served in the Armor Corps, and our home in Nigeria was full of stories about Israel and the army," she said. "On Rosh Hashana and Passover we would always travel to celebrate with Dad's family in Israel, and as I was getting older I wanted more and more to get to know Israeli culture and strengthen my connection to Israel."

When she turned 17, Cohen immigrated to Israel alone within the framework of the Jewish Agency's "Young Judaism" program, and joined the Metzar pre-army educational program at Kibbutz Metzar in the Golan Heights.

On the Metzar program, Cohen learned Hebrew and her friends helped her get to know Israeli society more intimately and experience the country more completely. Cohen recalls that when her enlistment day arrived, her father came to accompany her on the special day.

"He was just as emotional as I was," said Cohen. "For him it was a dream come true, and his being there really helped me."

Cohen initially served as an operations sergeant in the Homefront Command, but was later accepted into the officers' training course. "My mother and my entire family attended the officers' graduation ceremony. It is very touching to be the first woman officer from Nigeria in the IDF. Obviously I have fallen in love with Israel. This is my home and I see myself continuing my life here."

Tzvika Levi, who heads the kibbutz movement's national lone soldiers program, said: "Yesterday I accompanied 250 lone soldiers to Bakum [the IDF's main induction center at Tel Hashomer]. The State of Israel owes them an enormous thank you for their willingness, determination and desire to contribute."

Levi emphasized the many hardships facing lone soldiers, saying, "When people say 'Good job, IDF,' they are talking about the lone soldiers who leave behind family, friends, jobs, studies and a comfortable life in far away countries, and come her on their own."

Levi added that lone soldiers come to Israel "with only one purpose -- to serve the country and contribute to its security, the purest and most honest way possible, and with all their hearts."
