Politics / Woman Goes Back To Pu To Vote For Buhari After Labour, Names Child After Buhari. by Hanoobaba(m): 8:58am On Apr 30, 2011

Woman who went back to vote after giving birth: 'I almost cried when Gen. Buhari phoned me'
Saturday, 30 April 2011 00:00 Mahmud Lalo, Jos

Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) presidential candidate in the just concluded general elections, General Muhammadu Buhari, spoke with Khadija Auwal, the mother who bravely returned to vote for him few minutes after giving birth. Penultimate Saturday, Khadija went into labour while in the process of accreditation for the presidential election from where she was taken home to deliver the baby, a boy.
To the consternation of many, including her husband, Khadija shortly after putting to bed determinedly went back to join the queue to finish what she had started, she had told Weekly Trust.
Khadija's husband, Auwal Jibrin, had last week named the boy after General Buhari as a symbol of his reverence for the Daura politician. In reciprocation of the gesture, General Buhari sought for the family's contacts and called them on phone after reading their story on the pages of Weekly Trust last week.
"He called around 9am on Monday morning and expressed his appreciation and asked after the health of the mother and his baby namesake and I told him that they are all doing fine. He also prayed for the child and the mother," Auwalu said.
According to the proud father, Buhari also sought permission to speak with his wife, the mother. "I took the phone to my wife and told her that it was General Buhari that wants to speak with her, and she was amazed," he said, smiling.
Speaking on her conversation with Buhari, Khadija said: "He first asked about my health and that of the baby and I told him that we are all doing fine then he asked us to touch the baby so that he could hear his cry and we did." Asked how she felt when she learnt that it was Buhari that wanted to speak with her, Khadija replied: "I felt very happy and privileged to have spoken with a former head of state and somebody who millions of Nigerians regard as a symbol of justice. To me, it was something I have never dreamt would happen in my life, and I feel so happy that he took the trouble of calling us. I almost cried."
For her husband, he felt happy when earlier some of Buhari's personal assistants called and told him about the impending telephone call. "I was elated when he called, a day that will remain one of the happiest of my life."
Expressing his adoration for the CPC presidential candidate, Malam Auwalu stated said he named his newborn son after him, "simply because of the love I have for him. Nobody can take him out of my mind except God. At any point in time when he would contest for any position, I and my family would vote for him." Auwal added that the retired General's quest for justice is what drew him to support his presidential bid. "As well as his love for the downtrodden," Auwal added.
Smiling, Auwal said: "The day Buhari retires from politics, whoever he says we should vote for is the person I am going to support, wholeheartedly."

Wtf, N 150000 is less than $1000. What's the point? Okay I want to throw a party and i'll need three cows. That's N 360000. I'll have to pay N 21000. That's trash. How about other stuff like cars, rent, contracts. This idea is foolish.

For chrissake, let's be realistic and not let our political affiliations cloud our reasoning ability.
Every right thinking person should have figured out that these are not politically but rather religously motivated violence.
Say whatever you like, but the fact remains that violence have been erupting in the north even before the general elections. The fact that a christian southerner won only aggravated the situation. I hope we will all get down on our knees and start praying because I foresee very rough times ahead. God bless Nigeria, but if splitting is the only solution to this menace, I have no objection.
Travel / Re: My Biggest Challenge As A Nigerian Living Abroad by Hanoobaba(m): 7:13pm On Apr 21, 2011
Well, its different strokes for different folks. Personally, I hate asking begging for anything, be it money or gadgets. Even to ask from my father is a big problem at times except when I find myself in a tight corner. It just surprises me that immediately some folks get to know that you are in a comfortable position, they feel God has sent you to them to ease them off their burden. As if you don't have your own life to leave. Guy you better wise up. If only you could see the hearts of the peeps requesting from you. Do your best. You can't please everybody.

http:

i appeal and urge the people's general to accept the result in good faith and move on, if God still destines him to lead Nigeria, he will surely do even if he clocks 100 years, this is what i believe.

As the result showed that the status remain unchanged, let furge ahead in whatever direction pdp is heading since we voted gej enmasse.

The following strike my mind.
1. I wont be surprise if things doesn't change cos obj, ibb, aneneh, alams, bankole, oyinlola, akala, omisore and all other pdp looters and thief are compesated and highly return to power in whatever form or shape, sorry naija we voted them Abeg.

The initial investment of the so called invetors in the govt is guaranteed, otedola, dangote, adenuga and all of them is sure in 1000%, naija na we go pay am back in the next years to come.

Guy you make sense die. That post made my morning. I can already smell a ministerial or diplomatic appointment for Iyabo.

@OP: You are a big f.o.o.l for telling me to leave the comfort of my room and start protesting about. Weyting be my own. Even if I were to protest then you will have to pay. Do you know how much a mercinery is earning on a daily basis in Libya: $1000 and how much do you think you get for signing up $10000 . If you can't afford that, case closed.

Enuff of this ranting about underaged voters. No be person register them. Or what do you expect when a thirteen year old girl is already married to a sixteen year old boy who already owns several cattle, do you want the young couple to be disenfranchised. Selfish people.

To tell you the truth, the fact that some peeps just come online to display their ignorance like wares in Yaba market really beats me. Yorubas didn't vote for Badluck because blah blah blah. Mtsheeeeeew.
Let me ask you this, when have the Yorubas trooped out to vote for a Presidential candidate since 1999. Even Obasanjo can't claim he enjoyed widespread backing from the South West when he was running for office.
That is to show you that we have totally lost faith in the system after our mandate was stolen in 1993.
We'll still continue to survive irrespective of who forces himself into office and we won't complain like some cry baby zones. Shior na only dem den dey marginalize.

obailala:

The shouts of free and fair election were very loud indeed when results were still been collated at various wards. At the end of the day, the officially announced results were still the same old story except for the west where the story changed a little. Even up till now, gullible people still praise the election because Bankole and Iyabo lost.

In a truly free and fair election, there is no way one party will totally sweep through a whole country or a whole region. For PDP to sweep the whole country, that is fraud. For ACN to sweep the whole western region, that is also fraud.
Dimwits, no matter what you or anyone say, the fact remains that only the south west witnessed free and fair elections last saturday.
And point of correction, ACN did not clear the south west. LP had Ondo and PDP had some seats in Oyo. Even PPN won a constituency in Ogun. So STFU.

Do you guys know that there is a huge difference between kb/s and KB/s. B stands for Bytes while b stands for bits. 8 bits make 1 byte.
