Romance › Re: Why Every Man Must Bend A Kneel To Propose. by hardbody: 8:40pm On Dec 17, 2016
Talk2Bella:
Too much are expected of women, we must clean, cook, give birth, change our names, be faithful, submissive, meek, diligent, steadfast, and make our homes a success.

From the day a woman is born these instructions are like a program installed in her brain, she’s been programmed to do these things without questions and abide by them, women give up so much to be in the marital race, they give up more than the men and one single thing a man should do to make a woman feel special, one thing he should do to show sign of commitment, one thing he should do to show he’s going to be her burden bearer for life, he feels too big to do it because he says he’s not a white man.

Do you know what differentiates a man from a boy? If you don’t know this, you’re still a boy it doesn’t matter how old you are, real men know what to do, real men don’t feel ashamed to do things, real men don’t say “what will my friends think of me when I do these things for her” real men are doers, real men are pace setters, real men make boys envious and want to be like them, he thinks and weighs his actions, he foresees and makes plans for the future, he knows going down on one kneel to propose to the woman he loves is a sign of commitment and not a macho contest, he knows this is a must.

I accompanied a friend to go get an engagement ring, he wanted to plan a surprise engagement party for his soon to be fiancée, while we were getting the rings he said to me “Bella I don’t think I’d be able to go down on one knee to propose, I am a wolf, I lead a pack, I can’t go down on one kneel to propose”. I felt like a sledge hammer had hit me on the head, I must have turned bright red at the moment because I kept saying “You’re not serious, she’s the queen of the pack, even a wolf bows to his queen, he kept blabbing how he didn’t think he will be able to do it because the pack would be there.

Do you want to know the symbolism of going down on one knee to propose? That’s submission, that’s protection, that’s acceptance, that’s seeking, you go down on one knee, look up to her and she looks down on you, she sees all your flaws and accepts you for who you are and not what you are, in that moment you kneel you have given her the impression that she comes first before anyone, your back is there to bear her burdens, your shoulder is there for her to rest on, your knee is there to support her, when she looks down on you with love and sincerity her prayers for you are accepted in heaven. Going down on one knee represents, honor, respect, surrender, humility, etc.

Real men know what I mean, real men know what I’m talking about, it’s another Saturday and you’re screaming women are evil, women are deceitful, women are cunning, women are this, women are that but your mates are getting married because they know the right thing to do, keep saying you can’t go down on one knee to propose and your future partner will keep passing you by.

My forebears were all that for their wives but they never knelt for a woman, they detested that rubbish brought by the oyinbos to our country. They showed ability to care and protect by winning wrestling contests and having huge yam barns. I am a scion of those majestic trees, i dont have to do things the white man's way to show i love, care and can provide. The post is pure hog wash.

Here are photos of Nigerians sponsored by Ekiti state government on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. The contingent Beam left Ado Ekiti for Israel on Friday 9th Dec 2016. On getting to Israel, the group lodged at Havaya Hotel,a few meters from the sea of Galile in Tiberias.

Pilgrims were taken to different Holy sites. The first point of call for the pilgrims was Cana where Jesus turned water into wine. Other places visited are Nazareth, Capernaum where Jesus healed Peter Mother in law, Mount of beatitudes, Mount Zion, Bethlehem where Jesus was born.

Two things, female soldiers do not generally go to the front lines to exchange fire with the enemy. They are always there to provide other support including medicals and sometimes reconnaissance.

Secondly, no matter how hard you think she is, she is still a woman and susceptible to all those brain waves and emotional imbalance associated with women. Let her boyfriend leave her now for another babe and you will see the real her crying hot tears and begging for re-union.

Damn.

Same Eko Bridge?we should be very careful around this festive period. And I have always advised people not to chat on their phones in buses, public places or when stuck in hold ups.

You are drawing unwanted attention to yourself.

Safety tips:always keep your handbags, phones and wallets away from an outside view.

Thank God you are safe. Thieves usually meet violent ends.
In addition, handbags, laptops and such other similar items are safer in the booth of the car (if you are driving a sedan). Also it may be helpful to keep a dummy phone to be handed over to the boys at short notice in the event they ask for phones. It is safer to remove gold chains and bangles and also do not wear gold wrist watches. Remove everything and put safely away in the booth of the car before leaving the office or your last hang out. Where there are three lanes (as is always the case in traffic build ups) try to remain in the middle lane. Lastly have some loose expendable cash handy so this can me handed over at short notice.

None of these measures provides a real solution but at least it could mitigate a larger loss. Always look around and be conscious of your environment.

May the Lord (or whoever we believe in) keep protecting and directing us, especially now.

JARUSHUB:
1, More will be expected of you at interviews.

2, If you did not do well in a job test, it will be the headline when an HR Manager is interviewed: “First Class Graduates Fail NNPC Test” blabla.

3, People expect you to know everything in your field, forgetting you had a first class only in your first degree, it doesn’t make you a professor yet!

4, You will be expected to know everything , even outside your field, beyond basics. In fact, they will tell you they’ve seen a First Class Accounting graduate that cannot build a car!

5, The number of first class applicants for jobs will always be a headline (like the FIRS job news, which inspired this post, anyway).

6, The entrepreneurship noise makers expect every first class to be self-employed or be an entrepreneur, otherwise, they’re corporate slaves.

7, You must be rich. They will use you as example of their friend that made first class and is not rich. They will ask you which grade Dangote made. It doesn’t matter to them that not everyone is motivated by money.

The last i lost money in this sort of scheme, they stopped paying by December 2015 and i had joined about 6 months before then and they collected a moratorium of three months, so i did not start getting my 10% until three months before they went under.

I do not wish it to crash because I should hate to see the number of people queuing to dive into third mainland, and i know a number of people who borrowed and even used other people's bulk money to invest in MMM (mumu money magic)

Poor people cry most. You did not invest simply because you don't have spare 10k to invest. your lack of money has become a pretext for being a carefull citizen.
I have lost twice on a similar scheme and each time nothing below a N1m. This time i had taken time to analyze the reasonableness of this 'supposed investment' but i could neither rationalize nor justify it. Interestingly, i have been so pressured by friends and colleagues that i told someone to take a N100k and just do it in any name and manner and i did not want to be involved but if money came and he felt it is due to me, then it should be given to me but in my head, i had written off the N100k. I am aware that he said i was to make a promise or commitment or something of that sort and that I will not be paying out the N100k until a week or so.

My point, Not all Nigerians rushed into it. Some remained very careful and refused to join not for lack of money but because the Ponzi scheme even MMM has failed in several countries (Google it). Once bitten, twice shy. I have been bitten twice already.

Meanwhile, the N100k is still in my personal financial system.

Romance › Re: Here Is What Every Woman Want. Do You Want This? by hardbody: 9:55am On Dec 11, 2016
ceecia:
Every lady loves to be treated in a way that makes them feel special. It is quite unfortunate that most men have not fully come to the understanding of what every woman wants. Women are so different from men in nature so it is very important a man understands the characteristics of women.

Most women in the world today are very emotional and respond to sensitive things. On the other hand, men are more of the physical, they are more responsive to the physical and are less emotional.

Every woman wants at some point in her life for her man to treat her in a certain way. The kind of expectation women have from men vary. Here is a list of some common exceptions women want:

Protect her: Woman wants and likes to be protected and feel secured at all times. She wants you to stand up for her when the need arises. She wants you to always have her back at every point in time.

Agree with her: In as much as you cannot always agree with people on everything. However, women just want to always be right and expect you to agree with her on almost everything, does not matter if she is right or wrong.

There is always a way to go about this. For example, she complains to you about someone offending her and you are the judge realise that she was wrong, do not tell her that she was wrong. Simply tell her that you are on her side, but this is what she would have done in that situation.

Pamper her: I have heard and seen extremely unromantic men. If you fall into this category, please do a little research and read on romance and make a conscious effort to be better. Every woman loves to be pampered and cared for. Spoil her with gifts and outings sometimes.

Surprise her: I am yet to find a woman who does not love pleasant surprises. So once in a while surprise her with something. There are several things you can do to surprise her. Send her lunch while she is working, buy her something she has always been complaining she lacked etc..

Listen to her: Women are big talkers and when they talk, they expect you to listen. So make sure you do well to listen to your partner, especially when she is complaining about something and just needs to let it all out.

Be sensitive to her: Be conscious of this because women read meanings to things in different ways. When you are making comments choose the words you use carefully.

Take her counsel: Little things like this make a woman fulfilled and happy. A woman will always feel good when you heed to her advice when you.

If a man has to study and stick to all these, then the woman has turned to an office. What would be the pay package, just asking.

Mfondear:
Exploration activities in Benue state may be gradually yielding success as a quantity of crude oil has been discovered.

It is however not yet known if the discovery would be of commercial quantity, but the deputy governor of the state, Engr Benson Abounu, is urging the federal government and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) not to relent.

Oil exploration north

The excitement came as the sole administrator of the Apa local government in the state, Danjuma Solomon, visited the deputy governor to brief him on the discovery of the product in his domain.

According to Solomon, oil seepage was discovered in his local government.

He also spoke about the further discovery of exploratory oil wells drilled in the 1960s by Chevron Nig Ltd.

Engr Abounu said, based on results of several geological investigations, the government was convinced that the state had oil and that exploration is just what was needed.

Benue News reports that Abounu urged the federal government to intensify the search.

In August, 2016 President Muhammadu Buhari reportedly ordered the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to search for oil in state.

This thread gives me the creeps. I am outta here
Science/Technology › Re: Some Scary Facts We Probably Don't Know About Snakes. by hardbody: 3:35pm On Dec 06, 2016
Explorers:
Snakes, one of the most deadly and widely feared creatures on the planet.

Snakes belong to the suborder Serpentes, are elongated, limbless and flexible reptiles. There are about 3,000 known species of snakes, of these, some 700 species are venomous and of those around 250 can deliver a bite capable of killing a human.

But even non-venomous snakes can be dangerous to humans, especially the biggest snakes in the world.

Snakes eat their prey whole and are able to consume prey up to over 3 times larger than the diameter of their head.

This is possible because their lower jaw and upper jaw can separate from each other.

To keep prey from being able to escape, most snakes have rear-facing teeth that hold their victim in their mouths, specially the constrictors like the Burmese Python.

Venomous snakes inject their prey with venom, while constrictors will squeeze the life out of their prey.

Snakes don't need to hunt and feed on a daily basis. Anacondas and pythons can survive for up to a year without food after feeding.

1. The decapitated head of a dead snake can still bite, even hours after death. These types of bites usually contain huge amounts of venom.

2. Rattlesnake antivenom costs $20,000 per vial. One Florida boy needed 75-80 vials, which adds up to about $1.6 million.

3. The muscle that causes a rattlesnake to rattle fires 50 times a second for up to 3 hours or 520,000 rattles without stopping.

4. What is considered the most “dangerous” snake depends on both a specific country’s health care and the availability of antivenom following a bite. Based on these criteria, the most dangerous snake in the world is the saw-scaled viper, which bites and kills more people each year than any other snake.

5. Snakes are found all throughout the earth except Antarctica, Iceland, Ireland, Greenland and New Zealand because they can't survive on the frozen grounds.

6. Of the approximately 725 species of venomous snakes worldwide, 250 can kill a human with one bite.

7. The fear of snakes (ophiophobia or herpetophobia)is one of the most common phobias worldwide. Approximately 1/3 of all adult humans areophidiophobic, which suggests that humans have an innate, evolutionary fear of snakes.

8. The warmer a snake’s body, the more quickly it can digest its prey.

Typically, it takes 3–5 days for a snake to digest its meal. For very large snakes, such as the anaconda, digestion can take weeks.

9. Some animals, such as the Mongoose, are immune to snake venom.

10. The heaviest snake in the world is the anaconda. It weighs over 595 pounds (270 kg) and can grow to over 30 feet (9m) long. It has been known to eat caimans, capybaras, and jaguars.

11. The most advanced snake species in the world is believed to be the black mamba. It has the most highly evolved venom delivery system of any snake on Earth. It can strike up to 12 times in a row, though just one bite is enough to kill a grown man.

The black mamba is the world’s fastest snake and the world’s second-longest venomous snake in the world, after the king cobra.
Found in East Africa, it can reach speeds of up to 12 mph (19kph). It’s named not from the color of its scales, which is olive green, but from the inside of its mouth, which is inky black. Its venom is highly toxic, and without anti-venom, death in humans usually occurs within hours.

12. The death adder has the fastest strike of any snake in the world. It can attack, inject venom, and go back to striking position in under 0.15 seconds.

13. While snakes do not have external ears or eardrums, their skin, muscles, and bones carry sound vibrations to their inner ears.

14. There are about 3,000 different species of snakes. All of them are predator.

15. In 2009, a Florida couple was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter of their daughter after their pet Burmese python escaped its cage and squeezed the two-year-old to death.

16. The largest Chinese restaurant in the world seats 5,000 people, employs more than 300 chefs, and goes through 700 chickens and 200 snakes in a week.

20. In an island in Brazil, there are 5 snakes per square meter and hence it is declared a no human zone. So, if you are visiting Brazil, you better not visit this snake island.

21. The most deadly species of snakes are found in Australia which includes Brown Snakes, Copperheads, Death Adders, Tiger snakes and Taipan snakes.
