marque: I've actually thought of telling my Dad about it but I felt it may make the problem bigger than it is. I don't want them to be acting like enemies in the house.
Am still a student and so I don't really have anything to contribute. My mum helps me with pocket money sometimes but I don't think she will even give me anything this time around and am to resume school soon. Very sympathetic point. But niqqa, u r 4qed if you rely on your mum this semester. She will remind you. But on a serious note, speak up and discourage your mum. Let her know in tbe presence of your sisters that her approach is a divide and rule tactic and it tears down rather than build up a family. Resolve within you that you must help your family and see how this resolve gingers you to speak up and correct issues. It doesnt mean you are going to be rude. NO. All the best bro. |

Bros chill and recharge after a while. I was trying to transfer a paltry 8k yesterday from an account that had a 6 figure balance and GTB told me i had insufficient funds. I was online so i checked my account balance. Then to reassure myself i called GT Connect. Then i spoke to a customer care staff who obviously was struggling with my details and was even confirming details i had since changed. I just told him to drop the complaint as i realized they were having issues nit unconnected with network occasioned by the scarcity. They will resolve your matter. |

I used to sympathize with this guy but i am beginning to believe he is really clueless. What is it with all these appointments, sacks and confirmations now that he is already out of office. What was he waiting for. I think he should actually be probed. I have no affiliation with mediocrity. He is an epitomy indeed a personification of mediocrity. There goes my sympathy for the MOST CLUELESS PRESIDENT Nigeria ever produced. |

Crime › Re: My Experience On Carter Bridge Yesterday by hardbody: 1:47pm On May 26, 2015 |
sureguy02: I closed from work at 5pm. I decided to wait for a friend that has a car because i knew the commercial drivers would have hiked their fares as a result of the fuel scarcity. We finally left marina around 6. We decided to use carter bridge to avoid the traffic on Eko bridge.
On getting to Carter bridge, we suddenly heard a loud bang. Our tyre had burst. Infact, it had torn into shreds! . Thank God we werent overspeeding. It would have been a fatal accident.
Immediately we stopped the car, some dangerous looking guys came out of no where. They started demanding for money and our phones ;
I knew we couldnt fight them because we were outnumbered. But my friend thought otherwise. He was dealt a very heavy blow on his jaw. They even said they would throw us into the lagoon if we didnt cooperate with them. That was when I realised we were in deep shit!!
I started begging them in Yoruba. They said we should just drop 20k and they would let us be. I told them we didnt have more than 1k on us. Their leader started threatening to throw our spare tyre into the lagoon. We pleaded, but they wouldnt listen. They later reduced the money to 5k. But I insisted that I had only 3K on me. Passersby were just staring at us. Some were even laughing . Na one man for himself for this Lagos o
They later accepted the 3k. One of them even helped us to change the wheel.
It is an experience I will live to remember for a long time.
Have you had a similar experience? Kindly share yours. It is unfortunate. Next time, when this happens, on your own just invite them to change the tyres and give them like N2k. It happened to me later part of last year. My tyre started showing signs of a blow out around Yaba and by the time i was linking 3MB, it gave way. I knew my driver had no experience on how to change the tyre of that particular vehicle (Pajero), and those guys just appeared. I calmly told them that we could not handle the change of tyre (i do not speak Yoruba) but will appreciate their help. Meanwhile i had placed a call to the MPF at Ikeja to send some men, in case the matter went awry. Interestingly these two guys finished changing the tyres, i dipped hands inside my pocket and gave them N2k, i also asked them to hang around so we can pack our C-Caution and spare tyre we used to indicate a breakdown as other hawks were milling around. Or maybe the cost of changing tyres is higher around carter bridge than it is on third mainland bridge |

islandmoon: nobody will help ladies anymore, and when they are suffering if stranded, they will say we don't help .. well i cant do without putting tracker in my car, any car above 1m deserve one, you cant even drive my car in this kind of situation,
it has a gear release button the oyinbo who drove it before installed on it, you cant shift the gear without pressing the button. it also will shut you down if the security system notice unusual handling of the car except you press (override button) the day they tried to jack me up, i left the car for them with the key and ran away into the crowd.. they couldn't operate the gear i can use any phone to shut it down. you can also programme your car to suit you everyday activities, you will only need to notify your security company when you are going out of programmed area. Just pray it doesn't hit you. You will personally drive the car to the buyer and they will collect the money after you have destabilized everything and handed over anything and everything that can ever disrupt the car. Then you are detained for 21 days to test run the car and confirm no issues. Make the one wey pass us no just come our way, forget all these 007 moves. I stopped using some of those securities gadgets, i only insure to the maximum value and have rest of mind. |
Business › Re: GTB Mobile Money Transfer - How Secure Is It? by hardbody: 6:21am On May 26, 2015 |
linearity: I do not know why people think that BVN is even that secure and will somehow prevent thieves. Necessity is the mother of invention, they will simply re-innovate and continue what they have been doing.
Yes, BVN not withstanding, the GTB phone transfer are is very risky.
This will just allow thieves to milk more victims....take a case, where someone is held against their will and their ATM card taken and forced to divulge their PIN...and the thieves holds them until they bleed their account to red....If the account is red, all the thief need not hold another victim against their will...target GTB account holders, snatch their phone and ATM card, transfer money to your previous victim's account and continue milking the funds out of that account.
Now, before this GTB none-sense, they would have released their victim after their account reached red....but with this, they can hold out hopes for additional exploits without leaving a trace, BVN or no BVN.
And the BVN thing, gives people a false sense of security, people can disfigure their fingerprint, google 'change my fingerprint' you will be surprise that, you can order a kit for that, then disguise do a facelift, approach any bank, do your registration and BVN with your new identity....approach multiple banks with different identities and fingerprints and open multiple accounts and the yahoo yahoo guys are back in business as usual. Bros you be......? I neither meant thief nor scammer. I wanted to ask, what do you do for a living, no vex. |

I guess you are the type that want to only read Kim kardashian and one lady displaying g her rump. On topic, I am a freak for GTB and regularly transfer money. I have and use the mobile app but not sure I will be using g this 737 or whatever it is in a hurry until I am sure that all the loopholes are plugged. I am generally too busy to pursue refunds so I try to avoid this GS that may make that happen. Same reason I mostly do GTB ATMs so that any wronggful debit can be easily if not immediately reversed. |
