itsmayiela: Phone calls reaching me from Maiduguri indicates that the North Eastern town in Nigeria is under heavy artillery attack this early hour of Tuesday morning.
Residents do not know where to run to. The attacks are coming from the dreaded Boko haram insurgents using rocket launches on a moving vehicle (they use generator to power the launcher). Please, lets pray for the residents.
Mods, pls don't wait to be directed to do the needful. Meanwhile Baba is strategizing on security |

They found nothing deadly like guns and knives or matchetes. They have not been charged with treason or treasonable felony. The offences for which they are charged are misdemeanours. They will at best get jail terms AND option of fines. The fines will be paid and the struggle continues. I am beginning to think that the police is just putting up a charade but supporting the movement discreetly. Biafran for life |

Politics › Re: Buhari & Osibanjo Must Declare Their Assets Publicly ---SERAP by hardbody: 8:38pm On May 31, 2015 |
GoodGovernance: Sometimes I wonder the level of ignorance of some so called human rights activists.
Mumuni must be a mumu indeed.
The constitution is very clear:
140. (1) A person elected to the office of President shall not begin to perform the functions of that office until he has declared his assets and liabilities as prescribed in this Constitution and he has taken and subscribed the Oath of Allegiance and the oath of office prescribed in the Seventh Schedule to this Constitution.
What the president and vice did was to first of all comply with the constitution.
It is unthinkable for any sane person to expect Buhari to publicly declare his assets, before verification by the CCB(Code of Conduct Bureau),which normally takes about 30 days.
Buhari did not promise to publicly declare his assets before 30 days.Even the late Yar'dua had to wait for about 30days after verification,to make public declaration.
My conclusion is that those expecting public declaration before constitutional declaration(or earlier than the verification period of 30days) should have their brain examined. If I had the to time I will even contest that provision. A direct interpretation of that clause is that until they declare their assets, they can not perform the functions of their office. There is even no time restriction or threshold. Having said that, the duo of buhari and his deputy said they will go a step further by making ng this declaration public. Equity does not allow them to Approbate and reprobate. Nigerians voted for them based on some of those promises and we have refused to be cheated again. Never |

arent88: dont be quick to label this decision a failure without seeing its impact yet.am suprised u agreed with the other posters line of thinking.how does the relocation of a command center which is responsible for communication with the troops on ground become a plot for the north to take over the military.for God sake its just a command center and nt the headquaters of the nigeria army.you might dislike this man but it shouldnt stop u from being objective. You may be right about all you said but definitely wrong on my feelings for him. My views on him and leadership are straight forward. Neither him nor ĢEJ qualify in my thinking to lead Nigeria. It is nothing personal to either of them. I am hearing for the first timè that a counçil of war must sit in the vicinity of the battle. Especially in an era when with a google map on a cheap techno phone you can delineate troop movement, distance by road, air or foot. I dont want to have this impression that we are going to the days of bow and arrow fighting, because that is the only way we will want to sit in Maiduguri or evwn sambisa to determine how to plan and execute our warfare. Whaþ happened to infantry and air cover attacks on known locations picked out even using google earth on cheap computers. Again let it slide. Democracy is ruĺership of the minority by the majority even if the majority are mistaken. Lets keep shuffling along. |

tochukwuifeduba: plot by the Hausa to take over the army My exact thoughts. I thought a modern military should be mobile and nimble enough to manouvre from any and every point. Now it has to do with moving tbe command. If MEND start theirs, i hope they relocate the command there. And if there is external attack, we relocate to the boundary of the invasion. GMB chai..... ijechikky: Mek dem run na Buhari na God.. Under democracy u re innocent until u re proven guilty in d court of law.. I find it difficult why people fail to understand that basic constitutional freedom. This is not a military dispensation where Buhari will arrest by fiat. There will be trials and prosection and also defence. Except a man be found guilty he cannot be sent to jail and even at that it is not like in the military era where people are imprisoned for 1million years. There is a penalty for the offence as prescribed. Dummies everywhere |

Buhari has been accused severally with statements credited to him which he was not actually the architect or misinterpreted for some cheap political gains and hate by people such as you. Secondly, the more the likes of you hate this man the more GOD uplifts him.I will advice you to learn about the truth and live by the truth so you can have peace in your life for once. All what he posted there are true and correct, however it is a democratic dispensation so the minority will tag along the majority even if the later were to be wrong.
