Bravo to the Exes IGP 'Repeat again' is tautology. A man could be remembered for that. I want to assume that the second gbagaun...' a man will be 'remember' is an error. Incase i am wrong, the tense should be in the past, contextually. On the post, it made an interesting reading and the take away for me is that the heads have always been rotten, hence what we are reaping today. It also appears that projecting forward, we are not likely going to be coming out of the woods in a hurry. The antecedents speak loud and the next IG will be thrown up by the same system that has glorified mediocrity. God help you, Nigerians because I cannot. |

Dlionsheart: Though the site may not be trusted, but if you've been following recent political development you will agree with me that the west have a hand in buhari's win in the just concluded election. their body language when buhari was declared winner and the quick release of funds to fight boko haram to president buhari are pointer in this direction. if that is correct, then president buhari may really not want to offend them. he will do everything possible to avoid having any problem with the US.
That may include signing the gay law. We pray he (president buhari) will never sign the bill. Nothing here concerns me. He can sign a new g.ay law, it should not in anyway affect the fact that real guys slam babes and not their fellow guys... Everything else is hogwash |

GEJ be frowning right now. Nice gesture. How exactly does this resurrect the blasted dead at Monguno and how is this curbing the menace of BH. Are they coming with the cummulative 5k that baba promised the jobless Nigerians? Infact are they coming to equate the Naira to the dollar or influence the price of oil? Rather than sit his azz down and start the job of governance, uncle PMB is gallivanting the world and savouring the euphoria of winning an election. When is he appointing his Ministers rather than telling us how age might be an impediment to all that he lied that he will be doing for this country. Will their visit affect the billions that senators are gonna be paid to buy shirts and agbada? Some Nigerian's gullibility remains unheard of in the history of humanity. Whatever TANoid means, i never was for Jonathan or Buhari. I only insist that governance should commence immediately. Meanwhile where are the kidnapped girls? I thought by now we should have received them even if they are very heavy with pregnancies or are the world leaders coming with the girls? |

barcanista: Baba should be very careful with the way he brings the military closer to the seat of power. Military boys and coup are siamese twins. But he is not wired to rule democratically. All he has ever known is how to be a despot. He can only function well with military men around him, and then he goads them on to execute a putsch, he will then become a military head of state and then start enacting decrees and all |

Did u say BVN, the poor who are being contemplated here are mostly unbanked so how does BVN come to the rescue? Meanwhile, that amount of money pumped into the system in a monthly basis will definitely escalate inflation besides the equitable working out of modalities for sharing. Who will determine who is indigent? What proof will they be? Meanwhile for those shouting that working class may want to partake, at close of business today, i will spend more than that figure at 724 Ikeja eating rice, fresh fish pepper soup and at least 2 bottles of beer. I do it almost everyday. Pray and work to get your means of sustainable income, dont be dependent on handouts, its a means of slavery and enslavement. |

Their tribal bigotry is their undoing and marginalization in Nigeria. Did you say marginalization? I head a core business unit in a public quoted company in Lagos basically 'owned' by a yoruba business mogul. Do you call that marginalization? I was head hunted for the job and i have several yorubas, hausas and igbos amongst others working under me. The Nigerian Jews only made a similar request in Lagos State and urchins went to belligerently besiege a corporate office at Isolo and internet tigers went haywire reminding us we are visitors in Lagos and should not aspire to any such office. Some threatened massacre of the Igbos most of whom as far as i know pay their taxes and rates in this Lagos for the development of this state. The problem here has to do with orientation. El Rufai is metropolitan same as Fashola both of whom have appointed non indigenes purely on merit. Yet people in this forum, most of whom did their primary, secondary and university educations in the SW believe that the world starts and ends in the south west. For a good measure, the igbos in kaduna are visitors the same way my blood cousin who won a county seat in London is also a ' visitor'. Lessons abound to be learnt. |

I had hoped the Eagles would have qualified in that competition to assuage the spirit of Okwaraji but it did not happen. But on the Indian contest, i did not hear it was with Nigeria but of course i heard all the stories to the extent that the balls kept disappearing when the Indians had a goal kick and they often passed teh ball from their half and immediately ended up at the opponents end of the field where their shot at goal turns the ball (or what the goal keeper sees) to fire, lion, viper, serpent, etc. Some people can LIE OOOOO |

almustaphaa: Lagos—President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote yesterday said plans have been concluded to construct a gas pipeline to address power supply challenges in Lagos State.
He disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the office of the Lagos State governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
He said; “We also assured him that we are going to do a Gas Pipeline from Bonny (River State) to pass under the sea (to Lagos.) When it is completed, Lagos state will never ever experience blackout. There will be electricity 24 hours a day.”
Addressing newsmen after the meeting with Ambode, Dangote said they also discussed the ongoing construction of the largest fertilizer plant of two to three million tonnes of Uranium and Amonia in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Ibeju-Lekki. VISIT: Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode (right) and President Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote (left)and during Dangote's courtesy visit to Ambode at the Lagos House, Ikeja, yesterday.
He noted that the company is also building ”the largest ever single refinery of 650,000 barrels per day, which is by far more than the consumption of Nigeria and that would satisfy our consumption at least for the next seven to 10 years by the time we finish.”
All these projects Dangote said are no small projects.
‘’We will have challenge in getting people to work there, because at the height of it, there will be close to 38,000 people working at the same location, this is something that we have to partner with the state government.
‘’Having 38,000 people on one site, not every one of them will be from the community, others will be from other states, there would be cultural issues and all that, we need to integrate everybody to ensure that the whole thing works out fine.”
He stressed that the visit afforded him the opportunity to assure the governor of his commitment to complete these ongoing projects already embarked upon by the company.
The business mogul promised to continue to support the state government initiatives geared towards securing lives and properties, adding “I have assured him that we really love doing business here, it’s a friendly state for doing business.”
According to him, “There are quite a lot of things that will come along with creating so many jobs. I think Lagos will be one of the fastest growing cities in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
‘’ I can assure you that we would do our own bit in terms of your efforts in policing Lagos, for security and whatever the need is, feel free to call us, we would partner with you and whatever you want us to do to make Lagos a better place”.
Responding, Ambode vowed to embark on strategies that would open the state for new investors, aimed at reducing the rate of unemployment in the state.
He said “I will just call on other investors that wherever it is that we can assist we are willing and ready to make sure that investors have comfortable life and comfortable business profile in Lagos State.”
The governor promised that his administration would open up the state to attract new investors and growth of existing business in the state, adding that the bottom line “is to create jobs for our youths.”

Masterclass32: This is actually good news, from the Igbo perspective. It will remind us that there's no place like home. Outside the east, you'll always be subjected to this kind of thing. Until we stop running to other peoples' regions to setup businesses as if our place is allergic to business, our home will remain under developed. No one is saying u shouldn't have businesses in other places, but u need to at least establish a good proportion of them at home. The federal govt, whether intentionally or not, has refused to register their presence in the south east. Its now left for us to at least build up the east to an extent which I know we can if we put our great minds to it. Onye ajuru aju adighi aju onwe ya.
This brings to mind the case of an Igbo woman who sold her 4-storey building for N400, 000 when our northern brothers went on yet another rampage. What a waste. But at least she was able to find a buyer. Others taunted her to carry the house to the south east if she wouldn't sell for ridiculous prices like N80, 000 or N150, 000.
But nothing spoil sha. Igbo is on the rise again.
Igbo kwenu! When i was done with my business in Abuja last friday i flew to my villa through owerri. While drinking out with my guys in the evening, one of whom happened to be a commissioned officer in the Nigerian Army, some guy asked what brought me home. I said i came to review my building project. I also made it clear following enquiries, that the only property i will ever have in Lagos is this one i am living in and even at that, i am mortgaging it soon so if and when the madness starts anyone gloating over an anticipated acquisition of my property will have the banks to contend with. The interesting twist to me was the fact that the officer who should be fully oriented in the indivisibility of Nigeria as an entity was encouraging me and hailing my thoughts. Does the army know something we do not know? Igbos should start thinking. |
