Seccessionists should take note of this development which is indicative of things to come, if they have their way. Feeding may become quite challenging.

In the event of seccession, Cameroon and Benin Republic will feel any gaps. The concerned parts of Nigeria will only need to build better connecting roads, sea ports and rail lines to those countries; they will recieve fruit and veg from Cameroon and Benin Republic, while Cameroon and Benin Republic get exported manufactured products in return. QED.

In the long term, areas like Obudu, Mambilla, Benue and Plateau will be made into highly productive agricultural zones that will feed all of West Africa. . . What was the food problem again?

In that case, why wait till seccession, why dont we start now and build up on this brilliant solution, and in the event the seccession never happens, the country will still be the better for it.
Crime › Re: Robbers Bomb Bank With Dynamite In Lagos: Police Is Worried About Their Safety by hardbody: 11:44am On Jan 25, 2011
Why do I feel that the bank could have scripted this act ? Another way to advertise their " security measures " that even dynamites and bombs couldn't scatter ?? Else how can one believe that after so much action , no life was lost and that no money was carted away by the invading gunmen

While i do not hold forth for the bank, if my reading serves me correctly, this assault took place at about 1am. If this is correct, i would expect that no regular staff will be at work, the security men, as would be expected have gone back home to sleep so that they can resume at past 5am to prepare their handover notes for the next morning. Given this scenario, coupled with the fact that no transactions were on going and all monies should be safely stashed away in the bank's mega safe by close of business the day before, needless to say, there was no money available to be taken and no life available to be wasted. Generally speaking, robbing banks only work out positively in the course of banking transactions during the day. A course in Crime 101 should have told those Fwools that much grin grin grin

Politics › Re: Lagos Plans To Instigate Nationwide Petrol Shortage by hardbody: 1:53pm On Dec 06, 2010
Guys, do not lose sleep over this. We will file and obtain restraining Orders from the Courts to ensure that this does not happen. It is still speculative; as soon as there is substance to this, we will make sure we get an order stopping them from doing or continuing to perpetrate any such illegality. the alternative to this will be anarchy on the roads as all the other states will then exercise a similar right on illegality by insisting that vehicles entering their sovereign domains should not only carry their state recognized MOT but perhaps licence numbers of those states.

It is a crazy idea and will die a natural death. I do not believe we are a community of madmen, No.

Politics › Re: Niger Delta: Up To 150 Killed By Army? by hardbody: 5:37pm On Dec 03, 2010
I laff in pidgin english. It is unfortunate that lives are bieng lost. However, as a keen student of history, i have read that what the Niger delta guys are being killed for today, is part of what the Biafrans were supposed to fight and defend, perhaps if Ken saro wiwa and the Ogoni 9 did not defect in the years of 1966-70, there would be no need for the JTF.

What goes round comes around. 3million people died in the fratricidal war of the late 60s, many more will die in the cause of seeking to protect the oil.

My forbears paid the price and got nothing in return, i will watch as the events continue to unfold,

Oya insults should start pouring in, grin

Hello Peeps,

Anyone has any idea where i can get the fast paced music of the Carribbeans, particulary the Medley of Mighty Sparrow and all such similar songs (Calypso) done by folks in Trinidad and Tobago and their sisterly neighbours.

I look forward to getting responses on this.

Politics › Re: Fraud Detected In Call To Bar Final Examination by hardbody: 2:25pm On Nov 26, 2010
@Uche, I Concur.

When i was being trained for the Bar Final, the Son of the Chief Judge of the State where my University is situated failed consecutively for the period of time allowed and he was sanctioned as appropriate. When last i checked, he had one last chance to try passing teh Bar Final exams and he will be advised to discontinue with the process of qualification (For life).

That is the level of seriousness and frankness that exists in that system. I distrust Nigeria, but i still hold the Legal profession in some level of sanctity. It remains the only profession (as far as i know) where if fraud is proven against a professional, he is disbarred and not allowed to practise anymore.

I am sure this case will be drilled down and the culprits brought to book.

Politics › Re: Fraud Detected In Call To Bar Final Examination by hardbody: 3:24pm On Nov 25, 2010
I do not know about what happened after we left that 'sacred citadel' at Ozumba Mbadiwe called the Nigerian Law School, but in my time, it was anathema to hear that there was such a thing as leakage. No, not with the likes of Ibironke, OO, Kofo Abayomi and Adubi. It is sad to learn that this institution is now this degraded. I feel like trading in my wig and gown and taking up to farming my father's land in the villa.

And for those who sound like it jas always been a norm, i disagree. I guess this is of a very recent entry and i am fairly certain that it will be arrested. We are too honourable a people to let our profession be dragged on the mud.

I would have loved to comment but the post is rather unduly long. Could someone tell me in brief what it is all about. If i were to hazard a guess and its all about IBB's qualification, i daresay if he gets voted or rigged into power, i will denounce Nigeria as a nation. QED.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Ndlea Screening Exercise In Pictures by hardbody: 9:43am On Nov 18, 2010
Do these applicants believe in all seriousness that they will be offered any of the vacant posts? Truth is the real employees for the vacant positions are either at home or somewhere else and at the appropriate time they will be sent letters of offer with a plea to accept any state they are posted to.

I blame the gullibility of the average Nigerian who has paid money to acquire the forms knowing that nothing, absolutely nothing positive will come out of this.

It is a sad situation indeed.
Nairaland General › Re: Policemen In Show Of Shame In Lagos by hardbody: 6:26pm On Nov 12, 2010
So how come they was no discharge be it accidental or otherwise, but if it were to be 'bloody civillians', they would so happily have shot to either kill or maim a hapless civillian with whose tax money they are being given the guns and fed to look very healthy. Is this not a clear proof that they do what they do deliberately knowing that their ilks (fellow policemen) will provide them cover and exit route. In the present instance, if any or either of them had shot the other, there would be no hiding place as it would have amounted to dog-eat-dog.

Meanwhile, there should be no pretence here, these guys should both face an orderly room trial and be summarily dismissed. Thereafter, they should be prosecuted for breach of the peace, obstruction and fighting in a public place contrary to all the relevant sections of the Nigerian Criminal Code. This is even more dangerous as their guns had the propensity of going off at any point in time and killing an innocent passer-by. Indeed these people are callous and should be summarily dealt with.

@ Cork (whatever that means), I get paid to think, write and indeed talk. I would not indulge you, No I would not. Shall i say, where madness is bliss, it is folly to be sane. I do not in the least envy your state of insanity or senility (bc i believe old age is part of your problem), but i am believing very strongly that when you are gone, the world will celebrate the exit of yet another self induced madman.

Revel in ur world of madness but leave the sane out of it. We are worlds apart.

We were never a country. THis contraption called Nigeria will blow up someday soon into smitherens. I cannot wait to see when that will happen and then this community of mad men would each seat back in the comfort of wherever you individually are commenting from and come up with theories of what went wrong. Definitely history will vindicate the just, it is a matter of time.

And when the holocaust befauls this geographical identity, it wount be the ibos losing 3m souls, they have become much the wiser, other national groups will weep and gnash their teeth because then they will all get a true feel of what it means to gang up against a people seeking for self and sovereign emancipation.

Three things i'd like to say:

1.This death should not be news, there are several deaths that have gone uncelebrated in the front burners of our news media
2. At 72, the man has utilized his full quota on earth and even took 2 years of another man's quota (i think it is Cork's 2 years that has gone)
3. I sypmathize with the family of the bereaved with knowledge that a loss in death remains a grave and solemn issue and finally

There is a hope of resurrection, so no shaking,

Chidi, bury ur pop with style, i am made to believe u are a larger BWOY.

All the best.

Politics › Re: Fela Supported Biafra by hardbody: 10:24am On Nov 08, 2010
Nwa Mazi@Poster, I hail your position on all issues raised. I seemed to have joined this thread rather late and may not have the time to read through all the posts. However, my reasearch has shown that the average Yoruba NEVER did support the Biafran dream, indeed, a Banjo was the main reason Biafra lost its surprise attack ans imminent take over of Lagos as the seat of power in teh first few weeks of the war. Had he not sold out, Nigeria (Biafra) would have been in the league of China indeed the Asian Tigers.

I want to say that what the protagonists of Biafra saw in years gone and the likes of Saro Wiwa sabotaged them are the very same reasons that Saro Wiwa and teh Ogoni 9 were killed. A little support, just a little support then, and we would have been kings and princes in our domain. Today, the Biafran dream is only what it is, 'a dream'. My kids will grow to know there was a Biafra that did not happen which if it happened, they would have had no need to travel overseas for funtional education, good infrastructure , etc because Biafra would have provided all of that in abundance.

To the rest of us, Let us see what this contraption called Nigeria will develop into or defragmentilze into, we are all living and watching.

Romance › Re: Plz Beware Of Girls With Bids On Their Waist, they Are Evil.its Confirmed by hardbody: 11:03am On Nov 04, 2010
The topic is outright senseless. I love beads or chains on a babe's waist. I got so enthralled with it that i have insisted and my babes (note emphasis on the plural) all wear beads and some wear anklets. It simply turns me on. If you have been enchanted @ Poster or bewitched, contact your babalawo, pastor or alfa for deliverance and stop generalizing. It just sounds sick and immature.
Properties › Re: Can Your Landlord Eject You Without A Written Notice? by hardbody: 9:07am On Nov 04, 2010
@Poster,

Enough said already. I would really want you to confirm that you are not in arrears of payment. The law permits a landlord to proceed to serve you with a Notice of Owners intention to recover possession (popularly called 7 days notice) if you are behind in payment.

And the point made by some guy up there is very germaine. If you do not take active steps to protect ya azz, someone will impersonate you in court and get judgment entered against you. Even when u go back to turn to the table, you will be doing that from outside the house. Nothing could be more embarrasing and demeaning than having your things strewn outside (and perhaps during the rains).

More importantly, seek peace with your landlord in the interim and plan towards your own house. Do not kid yourself that you will always get a place at Lekki or wherever the posh zone you may wish, your house in Ikorodu, Akute, Ipaja or Mowe is still what it primarily is, 'YOUR HOUSE'. Aspire for that.

The story makes an interesting reading. It is amazing that people can be shallow or believe taht others coud be this retarded to buy this kind of silly and unrefined scheme. I think the advise by poster is very timely and welcome particularly for those people who are rather greedy and would give their souls to make money. I wish the guy had contacted me, i would have played along until i would have gotten him arrested and i will personally prosecute him criminally and thereafter ensure he is poisoned in prison. That way, both him and his ilk will not have half a chance of swindling people and creating further names for our Country. Real Crazy world
