Thanks man. I will look it up at d palms this weekend. I have started compiling JHC stuff in my library and they stock em at the palms. Once again thanks. |
I do not know what is more whacky, the story itself, the teller or the ones believing the story told. How do people just wake up and start telling us balder-dash. Do we all look like dummies? and someone is posting this? i am sooo incensed |
Posts: 216 Online Re: The Real Cost Of Building A Six Bedroom Duplex « #2540 on: Today at 08:43:34 AM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey Guys, I was following this thread and somewhere down the line i lost touch. I just want to enquire as to the fair cost of roofing a wing of duplex. It is 4 large rooms, a living room, library and conveniences. All the rooms upstairs are ensuite. I am working on using Aluminium roofing sheet (Gele). I need to make these comparisons because i have been ripped off severally on my 2 other projects in Lagos and i will appreciate a cost close (but definitely not specific) to what i might need to spend. Wood inclusive. After all these hype, i requested for these info which should be at you guys fingertips and no one is able to provide it and y'll claim to own the buildings u are putting up in pics? i would have had no need for this info if i werent planning on using Longspan, my other projects were with cheaper roofing materials, but heck, i think i stumbled on something looking like N800k or thereabouts, i just needed a confirmation, but it seems i cant get it here, |
Elderly men and women relieving past glory achieved in their youthful days. ![]() |
My resolve to never have a thing to do with the almajaris and their kiths in the west has just been rekindled. I now have a fuller and better understanding why my dad was said to have burnt his british passport immediately after the war. I need to learn a lot more, but for whatever reason, if a people supposedly under one geographic entity could do this to innocent children and helpless women, then there shall be neither peace nor trust in this country. It is now coming home to me why i never for one day set foot in the northern part of the country, perhaps my innate feelings explains quite a lot of other latent dislikes i hold against some of these ethnic northerners. I have tried to relate this to the killing of the Corpers during the recent polls, and i ask myself, how many nothern corpers were killed in the east/west? how many were killed in the North? Do we really have any heterogenity with these northerners? Indeed should we remain as one? whatever happened to the inalienable right to self determination? must everything boil down to oil? what happened to the groundnut pyramids in Kano, can these almajaris rebuild and commence exportation? and i was taught that the west produced cocoa ( i think there is a cocoa house even in Ibadan) so what happened to its production. My one regret is that efact that i just signed off on the employment of one smart hausa chap, but i have a feeling he will come out like his ilks, i wount give him more than a fair chance to progress, we are not friends, neither are we colleagues. If the hands of the clocks were to be turned backwards and in teh same situation, he will kill me first. @ Poster, please post more and send in links if it is possible. |
^^^ I am trying hard to remember, i have sure read this book. They died in each other's hands going down the cliff, i will scour my library and archives and get back to you. |

Very silly post and then compounded by this thing claiming to be identified with 'tankwa'. As between you and the gals coming after you, a party is either sick, unserious, ignorant or wallowing in arrant foolery. Working in a Bank does not add anything to your credentials especially if you never had anything to show for yourself in the first place. I walked out of my bank some 5 years ago when i realized i wasnt being mentally challenged, and they were guys making more than tripple what i was making in terms of dough. I made more money in telecoms in one year than i could have made in the bank in 5 years (admittedly i was over-seeing site acquisition so that exposed me to a lot of travelling and all). Today, i have even fired the telecom company. Dont ask what i am doing because i wount tell you. Suffice is to say that who you are determines those that may want to be your friends, its nothing to do with being a banker. As at the last count btw, bankers have the most job insecurity in this country presently. The facts are there and are verifiable. You guys had better learn to stop using this forum for ego trips especially when you have got nothing positive to offer. I am so p.issed. |
Should i care? |
My papa and mama born us ONLY 2. i plan to do better than them in all ramifications including procreation. Currently I am eyeing 4. It may just be that my circumstances will get to the point where i can handle 6 and still give them the best. When i start, i might just get the 4 at the first blast ![]() |
The only good policeman is a dead one. They are more useful DEAD. |
And what was the topic for discussion again |
Lol, this forum na wa , I meant to write and indeed wrote T.I.T for T.A.T (that is an eye for an eye) |
Non-uniformed army personnel threatening to disarm a police man who was genuinely carrying out his legitimate duties was wrong. However, would point blank shooting of an un-armed person whether a security personnel or not a legit thing to do? Did the police counter force with equal force? I think what really happened is that the police, in their usual trigger happy mode, tried to prove a point, namely one with GUN is Majority and the Majority in this instance is always right. I honestly have no qualms about how many of them get killed, i prefer to deal with a military man anyday than the police. The police is daft, lazy and always brazenly displaying arrant ignorance hiding under the powers of the gun bought with my tax money. I was so over-joyed the last time the military burnt their barracks at Ojuelegba and chased all of them into hiding. If the person shot was a 'bloody civillian', nothing would have happened, they would have branded him a robber, televised his corpse and acknowledged the bravery of 'our men' at the border posts. I encourage the military to progress with the onslaught. For once i believe in the law of moses, 'tit for tat'. |
^^^^^ This lyk says it all for me. I however also go with the explanations earlier given by 2buff and some earlier lady before him. It is still a man's world, ruled by women. Women hold the key to quite a lot but because of some intrinsic and innate attributes, they more often than not do not use the key well, hence society sees them as the weaker vessel. (even religiously too). Naturally therefore, where u have a stronger and a weaker person, the stronger person can only EVER be right while the weaker person keeps struggling not to be seen as wrong. Crazy thought process, but its mine and so i live with it. |
Ok, come May 21 the world ends, So? BTW i grew up believing that it was only the group known as Jehovah's Witnesses that preached the end of the world, so various others have joined them too?, na wa ooo. This world na fun oo, make una no end am abeg, buh i will ensure to be straffing straight into the new world order if it were ever true, so babe, get ready for marathon, |
N500 fuel and i go watch the match live. Why worry? Carry Go jor |
Crazy thread, largely boisterous inputs and really very shallow from the point of poster. Lets face it, we cant all be tall, so i am not. Our IQ level cant all be the same, i rank well above average. We strive to make ourselves who we are or would want to be, and i look at my peers and thank God that i have done far exceedingly well for my age and experience. I get more than my fair share of the ladies (a bit more than i can handle), and i dont come with a face like that of OBJ (If i did, i still would find ways of getting round it and having fun in this life), so what point is being made here? The six footers honestly did nothing to gain that height, (forget all that stuff about drinking plenty milk), gene perhaps played its part, so why would a not too tall guy complain. When folks are neither occupied, nor busy with their brains, they think up all sorts of funny self aggrandizing ideas. Honestly, its only a mental lilliput that wakes up and thinks about such things. Final point, the sexiest and most beautiful babe in my office (upstream oil and gas coy) says she'd never date a tall guy. She has her reasons, don't ask me. Others there are who think its the world to date a tall guy. Bottom line, be the best in all you do and claim no glory for a thing u had no hand in. When it comes right down to it, am sure u'd wish @ poster that my babes were yours, they'v got class, they''v got brains and they know what they get from this not too tall a guy. WHAT IS THE NEXT TOPIC GUYS?? |
![]() According to Lady GEJ, why should they not 'stonning Jonathan, ehn?, those 'stonners' who are their parents that they now want to stone Jonathan and make 'her' a 'widows'. Next time ehn, Jonathan will travel with 'Umblerras' to 'catsh' the stones. Someone abeg wake me up. But on a serious note, that guy Jonathan is so politically naive, what is he doing attending the inauguration of a pariah state leader, Na wa oo. Political Immmaturity at its peak. Abi that guy aint got advisers? or were they all blinded because of the estacode that will accrue to that trip? Lets Go to WARRRR, using almajaris to go and combat them one-on-one. |
I dont really know what to think about the pics and some of the comments. Suffice it to say i attended a public Uni, and from day one, it is clear in your head that you are accountable to you and yourself alone. You dont have to attend classes, infact to the extent that you can stay in school without registration, you could even do that PROVIDED HOWEVER that if you ever fail 3 out of 5 courses (that much in my faculty), you will be asked to immediately withdraw in your best interest. I recall coming straight from gyrations and night activities straight into class and once or twice straight into exams. Having said that, i make bold to say that any Uni that has chosen to degrade adults in this wise is nothing but a secondary institution. undergrads are adults who are supposedly being helped to mould themselves in character and learning (generally age of admission is 18). No one has a right whatsoever to ask them to kneel down just because they refuse to do somethings that are religiously connected, or anything at all. Again, its their fault, if the students study hard and make at least 290 in Jamb and move into Federal Uni (or even state Uni), no Bow-Leg Uni (wherever that is) will have the audacity to ask them to kneel down. And by the way whatever happened to ALUTA. In my days, teh lecturers will be scampering for safety for daring to dream up this madness at all. |
Eko Ile (or whatever you choose to identify yourself with). Get this straight, i am not interested in politics and hardly find time to discuss it. I only voted once in my lifetime and that was when i contested SUG elections in my Uni days. Having said that, it baffles me how you could be this venomonous and throw about gutter language as if you never had any manner of decent upbringing, you so easily describe a group of people as fools, unaccomodating, directionless and all that. For your information, i have no intentions of joining issues with you in matters that do not transcend myopic understandings belonging to little minds. When you comport yourself well enough to discuss intellectually and arrange your language in a manner devoid of gutter language, we may re-engage, until then please insult the Ibos to high heavens, one thing that will always happen is that the Ibo, Yoruba, Hausa or any ethnic minority will excell irrespective of what you or your ilks might be concocting. Besides, your angst has nothing to do with the progess of anyone, i preach live and let live, but if you wanna live in the world anti any non-yoruba, please carry on, some day, you will develop cancer arising from the fury of hatred you harbour for others. Good day to you. |
For the records, i am NOT Youruba, I am Ibo, and i read this headline and was excited because Fashola as a 'person' has been doing wonderfully well. Yes he hits my income hard by way of tax, but i am seeing returns delivered. the next thing the thread veers off to Ibo this, yoruba that and i find it difficult to comprehend how in present day Nigeria my generation still cannot think beyond Ibo/Hausa/Yoruba. Really amazing. I have been around, seen a couple of decent Yoruba, and indeed Hausa folks. I live and make my money working in lagos, and honestly i have done well for myself by all modest standards, i am trying hard to understand what the grouse is, the BRF that we are fighting over had severally appointed Ben Akabueze into his cabinet, can we learn from such a progressive mind? Honestly I tire 4 una. |
^^^ that is because we are lying cheats. And the result shows in the future when today's boys become tommorrow's men, while our men today become elders tomorrow. Typical 9ja, we are so into short termism, it never worked and we will never learn. No be say na curse sha |
So what in double hell is the sitting president doing? he wants the situation to escalate? i always knew GEJ was lilly-livered, but he should be advised that it is not in his best interest for a conflagration to erupt, they will end up unseating him faster than he thought. A stitich in time saves all the other stitches. (not just nine). |

Re: Tinubu and Co Have Damaged My Candidacy- - - - -Ribadu « #134 on: Today at 09:46:26 AM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 1985,IBB was the president of Nigeria and our Teacher told us about Buhari the former President. Then our Teacher again told us that we are the leaders of tomorrow 25 years later, IBB and Buhari are still contesting for President. It's either our teacher lied to us about us being the leaders of tommorrow OR TOMORROW never still reach, Which one na?? This is both hilarious and smart thinking. I really laughed real hard at this. Omo me sef i tire ooo |
I feel emotional on those films, but wount cry, why would i cry knowing fully well the stories were written and acted out by some persons who even got paid good money. Abeg ooo. It will always remain what it is, a flick. |
@spyder did u use 6inches rather than 9 to build your groundfloor? Am just asking bc i thot u were doing a duplex. I am working on one too but i first moulded 9inches. Of course i did the bungalow with 6 inches, there is no prb on that. What roofing sheet will be slightly less expensive than these longspan stuff, i used the other non-corrugated roofing sheet b4, but i want something closer to aluminium now for the roofing of the duplex and i'd like someone to confirm this stuff about 'cameroun roofing sheet' i understand it is a hybrid between the long span and some other brand. Btw this thread is very practical. |
This thread is not brimming with the zeal of 7days ago. All ye guys that registered, please og out there and vote and make your vote count. As per th bomb blast, has any one claimed responsibility? And when does d curfew end so i can drive out to my favourite neighbourhood pub for a chilled beer? |
@kushe Shebi i have warned people not to even conjecture a desire to come back here , read my earlier post (i dont know hw u guys copy and post earlier comments) however i have DEMANDED that ALL the guys that jumped ship and abandoned 9ja should stick it out through d meltdown. Please dont come and punctuate our slow but steady movement out of the woods in our beloved 9ja. We are prepared 2 salvage ours, stay out there and salvage ur common wealth with dem oyinbos, una hia me sooo? And u, why are u spreading this bait out for the gluttonous? Let us settle in first b4 they come home with their ivy league trained consciousness to overtake us here again in what we have steadily built. Na my own be that. I don talk finish. Am off to Ghana immediately after today's elections. |
@snowdrops Ghana is generally better than 9ja, i must confess. Steady light and water supply, the streets are safer (i stay at Osu) although in the night i always getthe impression i might be attacked (it exists in my head obviously because the streets are generally quiet and i love walking around at night, even back here in Lagos). The streets are evenly tarred and you dont bump into garbage (unlike Lagos, Aba, etc). What interests me most is that they generally give you the impression that they are honest (not to say you wount find a few that may be bad oo) but them girls too fat. Ehmmm, what else ooo ok, i remember, they are scared that Ibo boys (and i am one by the way) are swarming them and it is just but a while Nigerians will take over their economy so they are coming up with laws and 'attitudes' that will discourage any such influx. and yes generally, the average Ghanian is very friendly but could also be stubborn. My impression though |
@buzugee, my error @snowdrops I pity ya life. If i wan go US, na when dem dey beg us come over na him i 4 don go, I felt i could make something out of this place and so far i am not disappointed. And yes Ghana is good too, i spend some weekends there, and guess what, in my personal house in an Accra surbub. Nid i say more? I built that house working from 9ja. ol boy, naija sweet and get opportunities if u sabi wia to tap in and when. QED |
