Here is Sir Alex Ferguson applauding fans during his 1000th game in charge of Manchester United. Any idea what year this was and who the opponents were?

Former Manchester United midfielder Paddy Crerand tells BBC Radio 5 live: "I was down at Old Trafford yesterday and there was no hint of this happening. I am stunned by it. There was talk on the bookies closing shop on David Moyes and I thought that was just the usual made up stuff.

"The problem is that Alex has a great staff there and he admits that is one of the reasons he has been successful. Usually a guy comes in and wants his own people in. Is that going to happen?

"Who are the top managers out there or will they keep it within the club? I was at Manchester United when Matt Busby retired and all the talk was about how he was the dominant force. I thought that was created from outside. I don't think that was a problem."

Sir Alex Ferguson was unveiled as manager of Manchester United on 7 November 1986 - 26 years and 38 trophies later, he announces his retirement.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Sir Alex Biography and Life In Pictures by HARDDON(op):
Synopsis

Alex Ferguson was born on December 31, 1941, in Glasgow, Scotland, and made a name for himself playing soccer for Dunfermline Athletic. He went on to manage Aberdeen FC to great success and was hired in 1986 to run Manchester United, leading the league to win a slew of high-profile championship titles.

Early Years

Alexander Chapman Ferguson was born to parents Alexander Sr. and Elizabeth in Glasgow, Scotland, on December 31, 1941. Growing up in the working-class shipbuilding community of Govan, Ferguson was considered a bright boy but showed little interest in schoolwork. He preferred kicking a soccer ball with his younger brother, Martin, and friends through the alleyways between tenement homes, and with some assistance from Alex Sr., a former amateur player, he developed into a promising young talent.
Soccer Career

Ferguson made his senior debut for the amateur Queens Park Rangers club as a 16-year-old in November 1958, scoring his team's lone goal. He moved to the St. Johnstone club in 1960, and although he displayed promising goal-scoring abilities as a striker, he struggled to earn regular minutes.

Ferguson turned professional after joining Dunfermline Athletic in the summer of 1964. Finally given extensive playing time, he tied for the Scottish First Division lead with 31 goals in 1965-'66 and finished as his team's top scorer in two other seasons with the Pars. He also showed the mind-set of a future manager, impressing teammates with his vast knowledge of opposing players and barking instructions throughout matches.

In 1967, Ferguson joined the Glasgow-based Rangers F.C. for a Scottish-record transfer fee of approximately $179,000 (65,000 pounds), but his homecoming ended badly. Blamed for a botched defensive assignment in the 1969 Scottish League final loss to Celtic F.C., Ferguson was forced to play with the junior side until he left the club that autumn. He spent the next four seasons with Falkirk, and then finished his playing career with Ayr United in 1973-'74.
Manager

The 32-year-old Ferguson began his managerial career at East Stirlingshire in 1974, making an immediate impact with his fiery, competitive nature. He moved to St. Mirren after a few months, and despite leading the Saints to the Scottish First Division championship in 1977, he was fired a year later for breach of contract.

It was with Aberdeen that Ferguson cemented his reputation as a top-flight manager. Breaking the Celtic-Rangers championship stranglehold, Ferguson led Aberdeen to three Scottish Premier League titles, four Scottish Cups, a League Cup, a Super Cup and a European Cup Winners' Cup over eight seasons.

Ferguson took over as boss of the renowned but underachieving Manchester United club in November 1986. His job was reportedly on the line after a particularly rough stretch early in the 1989-90 season, but the Reds recovered to win the FA Cup that year and a string of successes followed: the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1991, the League Cup in '92 and the elusive Premier League championship in '93.

SIR ALEX FERGUSON

Former Manchester United midfielder and current Blackpool boss Paul Ince tells Sky Sports: I'm totally shocked. What's he's done in unbelievable. You'll never see anyone of his kind again.

"Two weeks ago he was talking about staying on for another two years, so it's a massive, massive shock. The way he treated me was like a son."

SIR ALEX FERGUSON

Ian Stirling, of the Independent Man United Supporters Association, tells the BBC News channel: "What you have is a large proportion of the crowd who only know Sir Alex Ferguson as the manager.

"They don't remember the past managers. It is going to be an interesting time for these supporters. Older Reds like myself remember the transitional periods and it can be dangerous times."

SIR ALEX FERGUSON

More from Manchester United chief executive David Gill: "The way he cares for this club, his staff and for the football family in general is something that I admire. It is a side to him that is often hidden from public view but it is something that I have been privileged to witness in the last 16 years.

"What he has done for this club and for the game in general will never be forgotten. It has been the greatest experience of my working life being alongside Alex and a great honour to be able to call him a friend."

SIR ALEX FERGUSON

Manchester United chief executive David Gill says: "I've had the tremendous pleasure of working very closely with Alex for 16 unforgettable years - through the Treble, the double, countless trophy wins and numerous signings.

"We knew that his retirement would come one day and we both have been planning for it by ensuring the quality of the squad and club structures are in first class condition.

"Alex's vision, energy and ability have built teams - both on and off the pitch - that his successor can count on as among the best and most loyal in world sport."

Manchester United co-chairman Avie Glazer says: "I am delighted to announce that Alex has agreed to stay with the club as a director.

"His contributions to Manchester United over the last 26 years have been extraordinary and, like all United fans, I want him to be a part of its future."

Manchester United co-chairman Joel Glazer says: "Alex has proven time and time again what a fantastic manager he is but he's also a wonderful person. His determination to succeed and dedication to the club have been truly remarkable.

"I will always cherish the wonderful memories he has given us, like that magical night in Moscow."

Sir Alex Ferguson also thanks the Manchester United fans for their support over the decades.

"The support you have provided over the years has been truly humbling," says Ferguson.

"It has been an honour and an enormous privilege to have had the opportunity to lead your club and I have treasured my time as manager of Manchester United."

"It has been an honour and an enormous privilege to have had the opportunity to lead your club and I have treasured my time as manager of Manchester United."

More from Sir Alex Ferguson: "Our training facilities are amongst the finest in global sport and our home Old Trafford is rightfully regarded as one of the leading venues in the world.

"Going forward, I am delighted to take on the roles of both director and ambassador for the club. With these activities, along with my many other interests, I am looking forward to the future.

"I must pay tribute to my family, their love and support has been essential. My wife Cathy has been the key figure throughout my career."

On announcing his decision to retire, Sir Alex Ferguson says: "The decision to retire is one that I have thought a great deal about and one that I have not taken lightly. It is the right time.

"It was important to me to leave an organisation in the strongest possible shape and I believe I have done so. The quality of this league winning squad, and the balance of ages within it, bodes well for continued success at the highest level whilst the structure of the youth set-up will ensure that the long-term future of the club remains a bright one."

Sir Alex Ferguson to retire from Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson will step down as Manchester United manager at the end of the season after 26 years in charge.

The Scot, 71, has won 38 trophies since taking over from Ron Atkinson on 6 November 1986, including this season's Premier League title.

His haul includes 13 titles, two Champions League crowns, five FA Cups and four League Cups.

"The decision to retire is one that I have thought a great deal about. It is the right time," Ferguson said.

"It was important to me to leave an organisation in the strongest possible shape and I believe I have done so.

"The quality of this league winning squad, and the balance of ages within it, bodes well for continued success at the highest level whilst the structure of the youth set-up will ensure that the long-term future of the club remains a bright one.

Ferguson, who will take on the dual role of director and ambassador for United, praised the people he felt helped him build the club into one of the biggest in the world

"I must pay tribute to my family, their love and support has been essential," he added.

"My wife Cathy has been the key figure throughout my career, providing a bedrock of both stability and encouragement. Words are not enough to express what this has meant to me.

"As for my players and staff, past and present, I would like to thank them all for a staggering level of professional conduct and dedication that has helped to deliver so many memorable triumphs. Without their contribution the history of this great club would not be as rich.

"In my early years, the backing of the board, and Sir Bobby Charlton in particular, gave me the confidence and time to build a football club, rather than just a football team.

"Over the past decade, the Glazer family have provided me with the platform to manage Manchester United to the best of my ability and I have been extremely fortunate to have worked with a talented and trustworthy Chief Executive in David Gill. I am truly grateful to all of them.

"To the fans, thank you. The support you have provided over the years has been truly humbling. It has been an honour and an enormous privilege to have had the opportunity to lead your club and I have treasured my time as manager of Manchester United."

Ferguson is the most successful manager in the history of the British game and famously won a treble in 1999.

He is undergoing a hip operation during the summer.

Bookmakers have made Everton manager David Moyes odds-on favourite to take over at Old Trafford.

The Scot is out of contract in the summer at Goodison Park having delayed talks on a new deal until the end of the season.

Ferguson gave no indication he was thinking over his future when writing Sunday's programme notes against Chelsea.

He said: "I certainly don't have any plans at the moment to walk away from what I believe will be something special."

But rumours of his retirement filtered out after the club's end-of-season players versus coaches golf day at Dunham Massey, Greater Manchester on Tuesday afternoon.

As much as i hate the way this was carried out, i must Saч there are two things involved here:

1 ) пετωoяκ
2) change of earning portfolios et all

If you are familiar with пετωoяκ and ìts upgrade, so many thing can be functioning fine now but all of a sudden hell is let loose and you can't just tell where it is coming from. but in this case, i envisage incompatibility ish(lack of communication btw devices) and they are trying hard enuf to make them τaικ

Please NOTE: nobody has cancelled anybody's earnings. All we have wud ß converted as appropriate if truely we are changing lanes.

My only consolation now is the last line ''For more information on shares will appear in the near future.'' So we will just wait to hear what the final judgement is...That is the part I hate! The fact that people with money in this thing will have to wait for the near future, to hear what happened to their money. I expected more instead. Una wey don chop small from this thing, una own still beta. We wey just join last week.... angry I never see one naira yet, na im this one come happen.
this is why i said we should get to understand this thing first before we blow row.

if you dont mind, kindly edit that post of yours where you shouted fowl play. this thread was made to help... and you can tell i have been doing just that. i made this thread not for any personal gains but simply to help spread a little financial light.

if you must do that, not now, not while we havent gotten to the bottom of this. not while you are still in the wilderness of wonder.

definately not when from their track records, they have been clean.

Thanks for the response, to be candid I am still scared because I am a silver manager with 18 people in my team- what do I tell them? Will i uproot my family and run. I was able to enter that site and found the number of shares which frankly means nothing to me. What is their worth? Will I mark it to double it?lol

Truth be told whether we like it or not, this thing CAN NOT last forever and this should be a wakeup call. If you ask me if another one comes will I join – the answer is still yes. Because the thrill of the risk is still enticing (but next time I will chop alone)
there is no need to run. not too long, all these lil ish would go away. please try and be patient and explain things to your downline in candid manner( if you have been truthful with them all along, they wouldnt have a problem bliving you now.)

to every major truimp, there is always a major obstacle: ask business men.

ossy: One thing is at least now proven by the LBM corporation, the advertising markers from Samsung, Nokia etc are all a hoax, the company was supposed to be getting paid by them and we share the revenues with them as we mark the markers. So how come they suddenly declared the markers redundant, meaning they have declared their primary income from their partners samsung,nokia..... redundant. Guys make una think! Who cares owning a share of a Caravel/Hotel in an island i don't know. My final submission is that we have got a Ponzi scheme on its last legs and as always many would be hurt. I have a lot of Russian friends and they already confirm these to me long before now and the Corporation just proved it. Am not being pessimistic or negative but sometimes you need to spill the hard bitter truths...... Well i still stand to be corrected but one thing is very sure, the idea of daily waking up to see markers to mark and knowing that at the end of the month you get a salary on them was the major selling point, and that's over now. But lets see how the new rules and concept will fly now.....my thoughts though..
as with all great minds, innovation and a new way of doing old things is a hallmark.

before anyone cry fowl, let us get to understand what is really going on

like i said ealier, let us all relax. there is really nothing to fear.

a little discomfort, sure, but it is not the end.

Naturally, we dont like major changes, neighter do i, but if it is for the better, WHY NOT?

Romance › Re: Things Married People Wont Tell You About Marriage by HARDDON: 9:42pm On May 06, 2013
zizman: Marriage is the dream of every woman, and every man. Finding a good partner, for life, is like finding your divine blessing, that can last you for a lifetime.

In this part of the world, we are more idealists than realists. If we face setbacks in our businesses, we are always comfortable with reciting the famous words: “it is well”. If rain soaks you on the way to the office, it’s “showers of blessings” and a promotion is probably on the way. If our right palm itches, it means some long lost relative will send cash soon.

It is no wonder that for many ladies, marriage seems to be the escape route from society’s pressures. Many of us fantasize, dream or even start planning a wedding before meeting “the right one”. Worse still, the romantic movies of heroes falling in love with less than perfect women and sweeping them off their feet in a proposal at the airport, add fuel to our flame of fantasy.

The truth is: idealism is great, but the idealist never knows what to do when the real situation hits hard like a deadly punch from a wrestler’s fist.

The Most Glamorous Part Of A Marriage Is The Wedding
A gorgeous cake, fresh flowers, wedding gown by Vera Wang, the exotic honeymoon, the paparazzi – all these come into play at the wedding. From the moment the bride wakes up on her wedding day to the moment she spends her first official night as a married woman, she feels on top of the world. Too bad, the party can’t last forever.

When you see an elderly couple retaking their marriage vows, with tears in their eyes, please note that those tears are not just tears of happiness; there are tears of a story well told – of joy, pain, courage, sadness and victory against all odds. If you’re not ready to deal with these, it’s not a sin to wait a little. Marriage is hard work and sacrifice.

The Word ‘Sacrifice’ Will Suddenly Come Up More Often In Your Dictionary
This word, we all dread – sacrifice. From the first day, you would find out that you may have to place the needs of others before yours, and if you are blessed with children, get ready for more sacrifices.

Will there be times you wish you were single? Yes! Will there be times you wish for one minute to yourself? Definitely! If given the opportunity, would you do it all over again? For most people, YES – especially if you are with the right person.

Marriage Is Not For Pretenses Or Show-Off
Whether you cook with diamonds in your Egusi soup, or look like a goddess, or even know a thousand styles in bed, a man always knows to whom his heart belongs. The meaning is simple: Be yourself before marriage, and don’t try to portray what you are not.

Let him fall in love with the essence of you, not with an image you have created. It’s difficult to fall out of such love, except either of you change sometime during the marriage.

You Never Really Know A Man/Woman Until You Get Married
Forget that you two lived in the same house for a few years before marriage, as far as there is no contract binding the two of you together in matrimony, you have not started.

People tend to let down their hair when they are married, and like an onion, the real us we have kept to ourselves start to unravel. The only thing to do is adjust and move on – you’re in it for real this time.

Marriage Is Team Work
Like a job, if you like team work, this role is for you. Just kidding. What I am saying here is that if you don’t work together as a team, you are heading for a major disaster. The unfortunate thing is that you can’t control the other person’s mind, and vice versa.

So, one just has to respect the other person’s boundaries, and it’s difficult if both of you are always bent on having your way.

Like A Rollercoaster, There Are Ups And Downs
Don’t think that in marriage, every day will be a holiday. You are kidding yourself. In fact, the most ecstatic moments in marriage come after a low period. Like every good story, you will be faced with challenges and tests.

Even if you fail one, life will give you an opportunity to repeat the test. But when you pass one, the rewards are priceless.

Marriage Is The Ultimate Gamble
Sometimes, marriage leads to happily ever after. Sometimes, it doesn’t. All is fair in love and war. If it doesn’t, dust your feet, learn from past mistakes, and start painting a rosy future without giving in to society’s pressures.

Many times, society looks down on divorced women. We are quick to point fingers that it is a woman’s fault that things did not work out. The fact is, it could be anybody’s fault. Either man or woman.

In the end, marriage is about two selfless people living together to achieve each other’s goals. If you find the right person to make that sacrifice with you, you are extremely lucky.
A tear in мч eyes with no fear in мч heart
Come rain Come shine
We will whither the wild

Come now i pray thee
Let us in time trail no more
