HealthTop 12 Secrets To Live A Happy Life by hareskay(op): 5:24pm On Aug 17, 2021

Nobody wishes to live a life full of sadness and grief. Everyone wants to live happily. Life itself has a plethora of happiness and sadness. Indeed, it's a rollercoaster.

Living a happy life is what we all strive for, but are you truly happy with your life? What does happiness mean, and do you know if you are truly happy? As Mark Twain said, "A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval." Therefore, you need to make yourself happy before any other person can.

Happiness is the key to a fulfilled life. In the books of history, many notable men and women attained their apex from the sheer determination and zeal in their hearts. Without gainsaying, a happy person is a zealous and successful person.

The tips below will help you live happily ever:

1. Be honest with yourself

Yes! You know yourself better than anybody else in the world. When people congratulate you on that success, ask yourself if your assiduity actually worths those accolades and if not, do a self assessment and pinpoint areas in your life that might need more rapt attention. Be the first to congratulate yourself before anybody else.

2. Forgive yourself

I understand we all did things we wished we hadn't done. We all have done something that we might still be ashamed to tell someone else. Anyways, those things are behind us now! We need to move forward or else, we keep dwelling under the shadows of the past.

If you don't forgive yourself of the past, no one will do that for you. Forgiving yourself gives an inner peace of mind, and it gives you the strength to keep doing the right things in the right ways.

3. Talk to someone

Telling someone either family or friend, about your derailment or worries is very vital in order to be happy. Psychologists proved that humans feel better when they share their problems. Having someone to talk to about your issues makes you feel loved and safe.

4. Understand your temperament

Do a personality test and embrace whom you are. Identify the strengths and weaknesses attributed to your temperament personality.

Understanding this makes you love yourself the more, and helps you realize how you react to situations around.

5. Take responsibility

One of the features of a happy life is being responsible for every decision made.

Humans make decisions and sometimes, not all of them go right. Not blaming others for your indiscretion is what makes you stand out in the society which is one of the attributes of a leader.

6. Growth is the will to keep scaling up.

Do not limit yourself to your present status. Gain more skills, read more books, learn from past mistakes, and socialize with people. Growth is happiness. It makes you appreciate each step taken ahead.

In the words of Martin Luther King (Jr), he said: "If you can't fly, run. If you can't run, walk. If you can't walk, crawl. But by all means, keep moving!"

7. Do what you feel passionate about

Passion is what interests you that you could sacrifice everything to achieve. Doing what you feel passionate about results in satisfaction, amidst other life issues.

Realize what brings you joy and pursue it.

8. Love others

Loving others involves investing in them. Invest what you have in others. It might be your money, time or advice. Be a part of peoples' success stories. They will love you and always will to go out of their comfort zones for you.

9. Live in the present. Enjoy the moment.

No one is guaranteed tomorrow. If there are some goals you couldn't achieve in the past, this doesn't mean you can't ever. Live in this present moment and utilize every opportunity that comes your way.

Myles Munroe said: "You may not be able to change your past, and your future is yet unlived, but the present provides you with opportunities to maximize your life and the ability that lies within you."

10. Be Versatile

Do not be complacent. Challenge yourself against the pleasure of your environment. Seek out for more. Find knowledge from anywhere, anytime and anyone, to feed your curiosity.

11. Prioritize Family

Family isn't just important, it is everything. They are the only set of people in the world that will provide you with an unflinching support at anytime. They are the ones you will always fall back. Don't prioritize any other thing over them. Enjoy every moment with your family and share every experience with them.

12. Give back to the Society

Successful men and women in history all impacted their communities, societies and the world in general. Giving back to the society can be done by serving humanity. There is no other joy one could ever feel than putting a smile on someone else's face.

HealthNigerian Enterprise, HelpMum, Receives 50,000 Dollars Waislitz Global Citizen A by hareskay(op): 6:32am On Aug 07, 2021
HelpMum, a non-profit social enterprise emerges as the only African organization to be awarded the 2021 Waislitz Global COVID-19 Response Award. The cash prize of 250,000 dollars was shared among only four organizations round the world. The first winner got 100,000 dollars, while the remaining three including HelpMum, received 50,000 dollars each. This was in a bid to support HelpMum in its goal towards the prevention of maternal and infant mortalities in Nigeria.

According to reports from UNICEF, over the past five years, out of 1000 live births, the infant and under-five mortality rates in Nigeria were 74 and 117 deaths respectively. At these figures, one Nigerian child out of every 13 born dies before clocking the age of one.

Due to poor access to healthcare facilities, complications from child delivery, infections, amongst others; HelpMum provides a mobile healthcare service through the vaccination of children, birth kits distribution to pregnant women, and an E-Learning platform to train birth attendants.

Having raised over 400,000 dollars since inception and a massive support from tech giants like Google and Facebook, the United Nations, Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), and many others; HelpMum continues to make efforts towards providing a quality healthcare service to mothers and infants in underserved and remote areas in Nigeria. Also, it aims at empowering women to make a positive difference.

Science/TechnologySocial Media: Two Sides Of The Same Coin by hareskay(op): 8:46pm On Jun 25, 2021
Written by Ugochukwu David

Synonymous with trends and virals, Social Media has, over the years, evolved into a masterpiece of the 21st century. With a light tap on the screen, in an instant, one can begin to interact with people from far away climes. The use of social media has become a yardstick by most people for acceptance into modern civilization. How do you see it when a friend of yours says he/she doesn't have accounts on Twitter and Instagram? Phew! That will be kind of absurd to a social media freak. But then, how does Social Media impact on humanity? If weighed on a scale, which side would tilt, good or bad? According to Statista, an online data gathering platform; about four billion people actively used social media in 2020. This represents 58.11% of the world population (age limit set at 13+), with statistics suggesting an increase in subsequent years. Social media is gradually replacing physical interactions amongst people, through which they create, share, and exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and networks. From the convenience of one's sofa, a person could participate in different online meetings, attend seminars, hook-up with a long lost friend or relative.

The year 2020 was one hit with an unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic. Worldwide activities were brought to an almost halt. People were advised to stay indoors while observing recommended preventive measures, part of which is the social distancing. It was in these trying moments that active social media presence surged to a ridiculous high of 72%. While most people stayed indoors for days, to weeks, and months; the only way to feel alive was to engage in social media trends. It was employed as the go-to tool to curb the need for physical summons. Once inducted into the cyber space, a person would go on to build his audience. Gone are the days when the elites enjoyed the monopoly of social media usage. As enthralling as it could be, social media could easily pass as a weapon of destruction on a larger scale. As dawn gives way to dusk, more and more people continue to register accounts on various social media platforms. In most cases, the more one communicates online, the less he may converse in reality. In such instances, many people are used to the online chatting phrases like LOL, BRB, TTYL, etc. Such phrases, when not used in reality, tend to reduce the level at which most of these people can engage in conversations for long.
Besides, a Social media 'rockstar' could be an introvert, as it seems to be the readily available substitute for physical interactions. In real-life cases, it could be as addictive as nicotine. But, do the Pros outweigh the Cons?

Though multiple studies have found a strong link between social media and an increased risk of depression, anxiety, loneliness, inferiority complex, and even suicidal thoughts. However, the importance of social media can never be overlooked. While following the trends in the early years of the 21st century hitherto, social media has ranked highest in as the medium of human communication. As a typical member of the Generation X would likely say: "Life was more tranquil. We knew each other by their real names and not usernames." No doubt, the mid 2000s was a period that ushered in the astronomical rise of the social media usage. You'd quite agree with me that, having a digital space in this modern world goes a long way for businesses, schools, organizations, government agencies, and the likes.

However, these social platforms offer more marketable chances for your business. Indeed, never has life been this simple and complex simultaneously. From the confines of your house, you could stream to a hungry audience ready to devour contents and pass the baton to others via links and mentions. Telecommunication companies, in a bid to stay atop competition, stir the embers of this rave. Realizing the most popular form for interpersonal communication is evident in chats, voice messaging and streams. They emphasize on upgraded data offers as against call credit offers, their adverts are almost perpetually lined with promises of unlimited online access for a low price. In more corporate organizations, their online office is as powerful as their main office.

Whilst many found fame and fortune online, a good number also lost themselves to the same. Social media in itself is not a bad thing but the activities of individuals on various platforms could be disastrous. If properly harnessed, it is a hub for information dissemination, relaxation, and promotion of businesses. Be that as it may, Social media has come to stay for generations to come. But, the need for its regulation is of ultimate significance.

Quite alright, I've male colleagues, but they are all married with children, so I'm the only odd one aside from another guy who is planning on his introduction soon. I can't write everything as I feel, but this is just a part of it all.

SportsThe El Clasico: Fc Barcelona Vs Real Madrid Fc- How Messi-ful Can It Be? by hareskay(op): 4:05pm On Dec 18, 2019
Referee: Alejandro Jose Hernandez H.
Time : 20:00
Stadium: Camp Nou, Barcelona, Spain.

With an estimated global Television audience of 500 million people cutting across 182 countries, the Spanish El Clasico is unarguably the biggest club football rivalry the world has ever known. Both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid FC have 35 points each, from 16 La Liga matches played. Amidst security concerns from Catalonia's call for independence to be a sovereign nation, both teams have agreed to share the same hotel and leave for the match venue at the same time; after a match reschedule on October 26.

The last league games of both sides ended in draws. Real Sociedad held Barca to a 2-2 draw. Real Madrid earned a 95th minute equalizer at Valencia, thanks to a Karim Benzema rebound goal to put the game at 1-1. Undoubtedly, the former Lyon star has played second fiddle to CR7 for most of the past decade. Pulling defenders to the sides and paving smooth clear chances for the Portuguese forward, most of these tireless efforts have been swept under the carpet; gone unnoticed. Why? Cristiano must lead while others follow.

After he left for Juventus FC in July 2018, the burden of the Madrid attack has been placed on the French man. Many football fans expressed concerns that not only will CR7 be greatly missed in person and style, but it will reduce the intensity and fans' anxiety, and as well, tip FCB as favourite of the Clasico. However, Lionel Messi has failed to register a goal or assist in his last three El Clasico appearances. With a record of 18 goals and 9 assists, La Pulga definitely remains a threat. A much hungrier and goals-thirsty partnership is expected between Suarez and Griezmann, who is yet to get his footing in front of goal.

Real Madrid will be without vice Captain, Marcelo, and Eden Hazard. The former Chelsea talisman suffered an ankle injury in the UCL match against PSG in late November. Worriedly, the Belgian is yet to cement his dominating presence at the Santiago Bernabeau. A better version of what he did to keep the West London bridge from falling. The "White Angels" of Madrid have been in fine form of late. With only 12 goals conceded, team captain, Sergio Ramos will today, become the player with the highest appearances (43) in the El Clasico history. His defence pairing with Varane has been quite commendable. Likewise, Gerard Pique and Lenglet will remain fired up to face their corresponding fierce opponents. Frenkie de Jong, the young midfielder who has enjoyed so much comparison to the midfield maestro, Xavi, is poised to start the game with Rakitic and Busquets. In the centre of the park is a great battle for ball possession, passes and tackles Will the energetic Casemiro and "eagle-eyed" Luka Modric give FCB, a run for their money?

Karim Benzema clocks 32 years old tomorrow. Hopefully, the birthday party doesn't get Messi-ed up.

PoliticsTo The Public Officer On The Wheelchair by hareskay(op): 11:41am On Nov 26, 2019
In Nigeria, it has become the norm or constituted practice for indicted corrupt political office holders to appear on wheelchairs, or in a framed unhealthy state, especially when charged for fraud and embezzlement of public funds. For a man in his sane mind to have looted/embezzled/diverted public funds for no other reason(s) than his own self-interest, he should be branded as a cruel man who has no empathy for the poor. Such a man can eat bitter kola and step it down his gullet with two shots of Alomo bitters, without frowning his face.

From the Dasuki Sambo to Abdulrasheed Maina, Olisa Metuh, Femi Fani-Kayode, and more; we've seen a host of corrupt government officers who are guilty of this act. In some instances, a good number of the defense counsels seek for an adjournment on the court hearing, citing their clients' poor health condition as one which needs an immediate and uninterrupted medical attention. When one of such corrupt political office holders is put on a wheelchair, his head hangs down with glasses covering his swollen and tired eye balls. This is mere theatrics! Now, you're sorry for your bad, inhumane actions, and want to be pardoned by the judge and the public? No way! An African adage goes thus: "One who pelts another with stones shouldn't expect pebbles in return."

But, what do they do with all these looted monies? Buy big mansions and real estate holdings, purchase million dollars yachts, own a fleet of expensive cars whose sum is equivalent to the national budget of some third world countries.... The elders used to say that the money realised when you don't work for it, will never last with you. On the contrary, if you're lucky to spend and use the money to your desired taste, your coming generations will dance sadly to the reverberating consequential beats of the leather skinned drum of nemesis.

SportsLIVERPOOL Vs MAN CITY: Which Is More Dreadful, Red Or Sky Blue? by hareskay(op): 5:01pm On Nov 10, 2019
With 11 matches played thus far, the Etihad outfit remains six points behind the league table leaders, Liverpool. The Reds Army is yet to lose a domestic league match this season (W 10, L 1). If Manchester City wins today, it'll edge closer to the top spot with 3 points behind thereby, seating on the second position while Brendan Rodgers' side settle for 3rd. The last time these two sides met was in the Community Shield final, in August, at Wembley. Man City struck through Raheem Sterling's left kick which was later cancelled out by a Joel Matip header in the last 20mins of the game. City won the competition after a penalty shootout. Since 2003, Man City have not had a win at Anfield. The last one was a match which ended 2-1, after a Nicholas Anelka winner.

Sadio Mane has clearly been the most consistent attacker for the Reds, even when the duo of Firmino and Salah are under-performing. Of late, Mane has been slapped with much criticisms over his diving act. Notable was the simulation he put up in the late comeback against Aston Villa, the match ended 1-1. For a player of his calibre, such an act doesn't speak well enough for him, but this is Football! At all costs, you want to save your team but then, you. have got to respect the "spirit of the game". The Senegalese forward has bagged six goals this season, five adrift too scorer, 32 year old energetic, goal-greedy striker, Jamie Vardy (11). Mohammed Salah hasn't been in his best form. Last season, he won the Golden Boot award for the league's top scorer alongside Mane and Aubameyang, at 22 goals each. The two-time African best player has only 5 goals to his name, an indication that he is yet to get his footing right. But anyways, the EPL season seems young enough to start making judgements.

Both team managers, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have a long standing rivalry between them; even though they admire and respect each other. This rivalry dates back to their successful stints in the German Bundesliga where the former was in charge of Borrusia Dortmund and the latter, at the helms of managerial affairs at FC Bayern Munich. Today, the tense rivalry shall be graced upon once again. Klopp has warned his charges to be wary of Raheem Sterling. The ex - Liverpool front man who formed a formidable attack with Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez (SSS), has remained consistently in his best of forms - a repetition of last season.

With his ability to make quick and destabilizing runs at defenders, shooting power, positioning and body balance, Sterling's attacking prowess has improved greatly under the tutelage of the Spanish jefe. A player who has been branded as a villain, following his 2015 unceremonious exit from the Meyerside. He will step out of the cool, air-conditioned dressing room onto the pitch where he'll be left to face off with his nightmare. Everytime he faces his former side, his touches are always warmly welcomed with screams and boos. All these, he has grown used to them. Over the years, he has attained a high level of maturity. With 7 goals credit to his name, will the 24 year old City boy get his revenge once more against his former club side?

This time around, Liverpool will do everything within its powers and beyond, to end the long wait to add the EPL title to its big cabinet of respected and worthy trophies. However, for Man City, today will put an abrupt end to the 15 years of "no win" at Anfield, since 2003. Will the Citizens once again "snatch" the potential EPL title crown from the Reds Army?

Science/TechnologyRwanda Launches The First "Made In Africa" Smartphones : From The Market Angle. by hareskay(op): 4:27pm On Oct 12, 2019
Few days ago, African technologies got to a new development level. The Mara group, a tech hub in Africa, set up a smartphone factory in Rwanda. The first "Made In Africa" smartphones. I lauded this great tech achievement, just like any other average African man with no sentiments.

The Mara X and Mara Z smartphones cost $190 and $130 respectively. It uses the Google Android OS. The Mara X price is equivalent to that of HTC 10 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 phones. With the cheapest Mara phone valued at $130 compared to that of the most affordable Tecno phone in African markets at $70, sales would be very low. Though, companies in Egypt, Algeria and South Africa import phone parts and assemble them. Having a setup to manufacture one is awesome, just like the Rwandan experience. Aside from creating employment opportunities, it will also improve the nation's GDP rate.

According to the CEO of Mara group, Ashish Thakkar, the manufacturing plant costs $50 million. Even at that, a normal sales strategy for new startups is to offer their products at low prices, so as to have a cool brand presence within the markets. Hence, the tactical approach of the Mara phones seem off the hook. In Rwanda, despite the presence of mobile phone giants like Samsung and Tecno brands, whose costs are fairly lower than the indigenous Mara phones, her market breakthrough seems difficult. But for now, let it remain within the country, and not continental. With time, it will grow over it.

As the percentage of smartphone users in Rwanda standing at a staggering 15% low, for a startup company that produces about 10 000 phones daily and wants to increase the number of smartphone users, there are more ocean tides to scale over.
