You pay for the name, why? Simple answer, Your instinct tells you I can sell this domain (uninformed presimistic stage)...

6 month gone but no sales, this is the cross road that define the presimistic and optimistic person.

Same way there're informed and uninformed presimistic...

Let me change the narrative, Spam isn't your problem, all you just need to do is stay in the day one mindset with a new perspective "You pay for the name, why? Simple answer, Your instinct tells you I can sell this domain".

You can either be informed presimistic or informed optimistic. I would encouragement you to be optimistic, work hard and believe but regardless, offer value to your endusers...

with GPT and Claude there are billions way to create problems and solutions as a content to email writing... anything that offer value and solution first before follow up pitching next. (Another post coming up on outbound days and tone patterns matters)

Here is a general and quick way to HR/ pick ED domain without stress.

0. Any domain or keyword with Google pages full of sponsor ads grab the domain and think later... lol

A. NICHE FILTER (Must pass 3/4)
i. Average job value $1,500+
ii. Ongoing / repeat demand (better if it's emergency eg roof leak or plumbing)
iii. Businesses already running ads
iv. Keyword causes visible pain (awkward URLs, poor rankings)

B. GEO FILTER
Tier 1 or Tier 2 city
Commercial activity visible
Multiple operators (5+)
Market not price-sensitive

If city feels “quiet” → SKIP
hack: specialist medical and law niche are ONLY for Tier 1 cities else OYO.

C. DOMAIN STRUCTURE CHECK
i. Clean read in one breath

It's been a long time coming, so I was really looking out for my next clue on a particular sale of mine until I found my way back to my past archives, then I rememise and appreciate the little details I shared... I couldn't have figured it out if not that I documented a few sales.

Appreciate everyone keeping this thread alive. I believe there's always something for everyone willing to do what it takes to get it done.

The journey was never smooth and indeed every good thing requires tons of hard work... no short cut... You wanted it, go for it

I have seen best of best domain never got sold worse case, sold cheap and I've seen worse name in quote sells for high figures.

I have send out 100s of email with fine templates/ sales script without a single reply and I've send out emails with just a subject line ( no body) that got sold immediately.

I've hurriedly accepted low ball offers that never converted and later sold high when I least expected.

I've worked and placed all my bet on that champion domain that never ever yield only for the one I neglected abandoned and given hope on sold at it 11 hour.

I've gone a whole year streaks without Sales just at the brim of giving up, was shower with multiple blessing of sales...

It got me wondering, Big world! Something are just placed in a perfect way to be a coincidence. I took a break to go figure out life squarely.

It was them I realize life is a scattered piece 🧩 of puzzles (every tiny pieces matters never ignore be conscious), everyone has a unique story to tell.

Until your beliefs, your values, your goals, your desires, your daily actions and your habits to become who you have always dreamt off all align together as one, your effort/hardwork is just as good as the goals and purpose you've set in the right direction to achieve the vision to become who you've always envision and dreamt off... no more, no less... every other thing outside this spectrum is external noise.

My advice: Never take another man's advice given to you, it's just about their reality of roadmap. infact most advices are inherently selfish. Best advice is the one you give your self in the darkest moment. Only if the person is where u want to be in life take it.

Never ever cap your dream... if your dream is to buy food and have just enough to pay housing rent buy commercial okada ... everything would work out only for that purpose. Dream wild and big.

How my 2025 went.

Acquired 280 domains. (106 during one dot com $1.9/2 point something promo, while the remaining from Dreamhost, unstoppable and Z for $5). GEO/EMD. All hand reg.

I've probably worked on around 65% once and yet to work on 35%.

I worked on around 17 to 23 names monthly. Manual scraping and outbound.

Made 7 sales jan, 5 feb, 1 March, 3 April, May 0, June break , July 2, August 6, September 2, October 2, November 2, December 3.

Sold 33 total, all afternic lander. $369 average sale price. Sold only 2 from first email. The rest are offers which could even be at first email. While few are after price drops.

$12,179 before commission.
$9,326 after commission and expenses.

I price 988 for Geo while 1455 for EMDs. I send total of 4 to 5 emails follow up and stop at $300. I plan to do price drops to 150 or 100 when I revisit the domains for second round of outbound however I'll start from 988/1455

I counter or not to offers depending on the situation at hand.

Few tips that might help.

Utilize promos. I would have spent around $2,500 to acquire 280 names but it only cost me $1,117 or my $1,117 would have bought just around 124 domains. Good thing is that I still have domain to be busy on going to 2026.

If I see a niche, I check if there are cities or EMD available using namebright bulk searche. I Check if there are endusers. I find niche through sales reports, while scraping, or just when browsing/surfing the net or in my environment.

While scraping, you can sometimes find endusers email from their Facebook page. If no Facebook page or icon in the site, simply write "Facebook" in the front of the Business name or website in the search bar and search. It would bring out the Facebook page if there is one. Write " owner" or "leadership" if you want to find who the owner is.

Simple sales letter to control spam issues.

You can't just register 3 names and wonder why you didn't make 6 sales. Numbers is a big factor in this game. Register, work it and go to the next.

For every sale report you see, there are handful that didn't get sold.

In everything I use common sense, I evaluate options, consider pros and cons then decided what I prefer.

Everyones journey would be different because our creativity differs, information we have is different, how we assimilate and use information is different... Just do your best.

It is by two things (always exception): Geo city competitiveness on their url + the keywords.

Eg. Using the keyword " Luxuryrentals " on Ed search then follow the filters... Above,

Scroll through the results... If for instant you consider a geo good enough lest say you find Fortlauderdale + luxuryrentals...

Then scan the url on Google map desktop results for first two pages... observe how competitive the location is ...

1. Observe the endusers urls : see a few Google url results below:

Save your self the stress visit Dan and check using same domain Fortlauderdale + rentals: Once you observe too many similar names with average/low price or alternative keyword like, HomeRentals , ApartmentRentals, VacationRentals.... Advisable to skip... Obviously you all are all spannming same users. (Always exception)

If the name is available you can go ahead and reg it.


C. Add more selling Niches to your filter
You can find what was listed on Dan everyday by other Domainers using Ed filters...

Below is a filter for Geo Dan category, you can do for Goddaddy etc...

Star/watchlist potential listed domains and check back if it got sold 2-3 months from now... E get why.

Also you can check back previous thread page for past sales and compile all keywords, using the method above run though Ed... You would find enough gem... Some might have been on Ed since 2008, 2013, etc... This is refreshing for endusers.

Lastly, nothing bad risking $100 to buy 12 names and hope to just sell just one for $100 or $200 or $500 range... This is not a financial advice.

Secondly, Register domain from the perspective of general users/buyers with a business orientated mindset (look beyond domain stats....

What do I mean:
1. Some kinda of business needs a domain to dominate & function eg: wedding caterer, courier, rentals of anything, contractor service, limo, Movers, vacation, tattoo removal etc.... Usually one time service with no permanent clients.

2.While Some Service doesn't need a domain to work and be relevant eg, a groomer vet, locksmith, med doctor, band show, repairer.. As long as there is enough regular customer coming and referring them, domain can pause. Don't EMD them. There is always exception though.

This also applies to Geo names, reg name with popular location! Everyone know this.
Should you want to reg a location you haven't heard of before, ...Make sure to check map and do research and see if more popular places are within the territory perimeter of that location. If it's true, they would always overshadowed the location in the enduser/local preference of economy/livestyles... Real estate/ Realtor names fit into this cateria

Major enduser can do anything without d web guy. web guy doesn't want their clients to trust other people apart from them. They advice against external ideas.
This applies to EMD (Exact Match Domain) Any Small coy with woman as head and or there's web designs name/logo in the website is a no no.
Think about it, chiro, dentist, EMD usually falls in this categories. There's exception though.

The whole purpose is to target, independence hustling business or old guy biz. Anything good that would bring job is a good idea eg. Charter, plumbing, all custom builders, investigators, logistics, event hall etc. Handyman jobs. You can study @OP (ikye promotion past sales for more on this).

I outbound from 8pm to 6am. Almost all my sales drop at night.

Use a very crafting sales letter with subject, then follow up like you know what they're thinking.

Most follow up are majory 3 times in a week. Just like aggressive outbound.

You would get, reply, someone demanding questions or another name, clear their doubt...
