Finally the dice is cast. Like I said before, unfortunately in Nigeria it is SELECTION and not ELECTION. If it is proper election, there is a high chance of IBB losing, and since it is going to be a selection, only God of heaven can stop him now because the man is skilled in 'pressing the right button'. What I don't understand is what he's coming back to do after 8 God-forsaken years that rolled the whole nation backwards for nearly a century! It's so sad we never learn as a nation, may God forgive us Nigerians, here we go again! |
Has Jonathan seen the man at all? It's evidently clear and equally very sad that this man was not fully medically fit before being whisked back to Nigeria, something very indicative of sheer desperation. For God's sake, whosoever is master-minding the movement of this ailing man like a ping-pong ball should stop, considering that it is in his best interest to get adequate and proper medical attention. If there is life, there is hope o! ![]() |
What I want to hear from the NP is how they 'professionally' concluded these 15 were suspects and not innocent passers-by. What linked them to the crime Oga Police? |
Black man (particularly black Africans) and his inferiority complex !I am yet to see any European or other continents looking for a black coach. As I am not and do not want to sound racist, it seems to have become a common place to see black African teams parading foreign coa[s][/s]ches Messiahs at the world cup, often sacking their indigenous coaches that did all the hard work and got them there in the first place, as if that is what guarantees success. And many poverty stricken nations even empties their coffers to join the group. What a shame !If a coach is good enough to qualify a team despite difficult working environment, how come is he not good enough to take them to the world cup? Even if you don't like Amodu, he still got us there. And what new technique or technicalties will the new Swede coach be bringing or teaching the likes of Obafemi Martins, Yakubu and the rest? Will he not be going with the same bunch of established players? I even understand the man couldn't qualify his home country, and what makes him superior to Amodu, apart from his white skin and the fact that Amodu's salary will be dwarfed in multiples by his? If those in the football house always think this way, then we should be looking for expatrates to replace all the Governors, Senators, Representatives, those in the football house themselves, Ministers and even up to the Presidency - because they sure do shoddy jobs and aren't getting us nowhere, rather than changing a coach who did his job well! It isn't fair on Amodu, he has the right to be disappointed, and like before now, those who removed him are answerable to no one. It's equally not fair on us as a nation because we're wasting money on an expatrate that has nothing to lose if he failed but will walk away with his dollars and our hope unfortunately doesn't look brighter than what it was, except he can magically or miraculously produce new star players. The North Africans do better in this regards. Why cant we trust in our abilities and potentials? Afterall coaches don't play football, and a team is only as good as the 11 on the field. We're usually greedy for results like in many other areas, without paying the price. We're not developing new players who are fit enough to be playing top flight football across the globe but relying on those who had been playing since many of us were in kindergarten, and yet want to win a World Cup by bringing a Swede. I congratulate the new coach - he got a plum job he could not easily have got even in Europe. But for those in football house, I say DREAM ON! We all could easily guess the outcome. |
IBB gave a lecture ? As much as I respect the man as one of our leaders, it still seems Nigerians have lost all sense of decency. In my humble opinion, what I think he should be giving is a detailed account of how it seemed corruption was legalised during his regime, how there was unprecedented brain drain in Nigeria, and how dignified people who held on to their sound principle were smeared; and again how many students got extra years in University because of recurrent closures due to harmless student demonstrations. This was a man that refused to show up in a lagos High Court, asking the courts to come to Abuja; a common man would be arrested for contempt of law if he tried that. If he lived as if above the law when in and out of power, how can he preach Federalism to us. During his time there was a global downgrading of Nigerian education and degrees abroad. All these look very distant from true Federalism to me. And not to mention some people's 'disappearances'. I know he is stinkingly rich and comfortable in his Minna mansion, but he should be telling us in details how he got the money and how much tax he paid to the coffers. Even if President Obama runs fowl of ordinary tax in America where true Federalism is practiced, he will be outrightly quizzed or even jailed. What amazes me is his apparent contentment with the state of things with the 50year old Nigeria! Nigeria at 50 still looks very cachectic and unhealthy, almost a laughing stock to the international community, and only holding up by people's prayers. Where is the vision for this country? Why is it that Nigerians cant hold their leaders accountable but often prefer to stoop low and be hero worshippers? That is why this country remains as it is. If we want lectures on near-perfect true Federalism, in my opinion, I think we should ask for the American politicians to come give us lectures. And for how many years was he in power that he couldn't use the advantage of Military machinery to implement true Federalism, which entails the right of the Niger deltans over their God-given resources? Now before you say anything, I am not from Niger Delta. As a child, I remembered we had groundnut pyramids, and were leading producers of cotton, rubber, cocoa, palm kernel, to name a few but what has happened for the worse for Nigeria is that every politician and leader is bent on stuffing to overflowing their Babariga's pocket with this oil money. Wait till the oil dries up! If anything, IBB is on to something, possibly a comeback to limelight directly or indirectly through a stouge. I can bet my breakfast on this. I know there are hero worshippers and sycophants out there who will beg to differ, and all I will say is that God will deliver Nigeria out of the hands of usurpers, and that Nigeria one day will cease to be a shameful waster of brains and resources, and cease to be a place where dignity, honesty and hardwork is disregarded. |
Following Messi's one-man demolition and gunning down of the Gunners, Berca will now face Jose Mourinho's Internazionale. Can Messi do another messing up, or could the 'Special One' Jose Mourinho, have the special magic to stop Berca? One thing for sure is that it promises to be a good match. And one wonders who goes through. |
England U21 star Nedum Onuoha is ready to turn his back on the Three Lions and represent Nigeria in the World Cup. The Manchester City defender was born in the African country but moved to the UK when he was seven. He has been stalling on a decision on his international future to see what the likelihood was of him making a successful elevation into the senior ranks after being a member of the U21 squad that reached last summer's European Championship final. However, having seen limited first-team action at City - first under Mark Hughes and now Roberto Mancini - Onuoha is keen to hear from Nigeria coach Lars Lagerback ahead of this summer's finals in South Africa. "I would like to play in the remaining six games for City. If I did that maybe the chance would be there to play for Nigeria," Onuoha told the Manchester Evening News. "But if I am not playing week in, week out, I wouldn't expect to receive a call from anyone because that wouldn't be right. "Everyone wants to play in the World Cup, but things have to be right and you have to be selected." PA Sport |
Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we're meant to be practising Federalism which if well engineered should bring about productivity, but in reality we're nowhere close to Federalism. This idea will have difficulty implementing though, and our leaders wont buy the idea because you're probably blocking someone's personal allocation for the month. I don't think we have the political will for such an idea, as good as it seems. Some might embark on a campaign of opposition and intimadation, and fearfullu still to the point of killing to block such a notion. We can only dream it I'm afraid ![]() |
@yeyeruzi You are correct, terrorism is terrorism if engaged in for any cause. It is wrong for any group to resort to violence in order to make their opinion known, and even more sadistic and devilish for a group to resort to killing in the name of any god. Don't get me wrong here. I have not said I support violence in Niger delta (or anywhere else in Nigeria), and of course those people already have been branded terrorists all along. The point I'm making here is our terrorism reached international status because of the action of one Yemeni-trained rich man's son who left the shores of Nigeria to want to go blow up himself in Detroit all in the name of Jihad, and that now officially and worldwide, we are a terrorist country, with negative impact on all Nigerians, including you. Before Niger delta palaver which arose out of frustration of marginalisation, there have been religious riots and killings, which is still on-going in Bauchi. Common, lets face it, this has been a perrenial problem that really need to be sincerely and openly addressed. Look at the wider picture, not just because you are defending any religiion. I rest my case. |
Think Gordon Brown recently said one of those things cost 100,00 British Pounds. With a porous Airport that Mutallab Jnr officially 'sneaked through', and with a non-existent security, an Airport not immuned from power outages and the only Airport in the world you pay to have a trolley - who will the body scanner be scanning? Of course common men. I bet you the big men won't allow their concubines (talkless of their wives) to pass through it. Who will be those manning and viewing countless de-clothed people passing through? I bet it will be the talk of the town after a day's job of having an eye-full. And considering our pedigree, how shall we maintain the machines after they are bought? I hope they are aware that machines do break down, like many things that do often break down in our Ariports. Walahi, Nigeria sometimes does not fail in amusing me ![]() |
That is in recognition of a job well done. Aren't they very proud of what Nigeria has become? |
@adebayo111 Please man, go get a hair cut! As I do not support religious wrangling, you obviosly must make a valid point, not just trying to defend any religion or even God. Any group of people worshipping a god through a religion obviously believe their god is powerful. People should stop fighting in the name of any god; just simply tell that god to go do his dirty job if indeed is all-powerful. If indeed he is god, why can't he simply go do the killing himself? It is dumb and foolish for any mortal to be fighting for the immortal. Don't miss the point here. You should also be able to take criticism of your religion (if you have one) by unbelievers without shouting 'kill the infidel'. I presume you're a 'good' Muslim not given to violence (but deeply pained by these apparent recent international development that seems to have been unfavourable to the Islamic faith) like these psychopaths, but I really doubt if these extremists really would believe you a practising Muslim if you are not actively involved in Jihad. That is the reality! Niger delta people are not fighting in the name of any religion/god even though they are mostly xtians according to you; they are fighting for justice and equity in the 'way' our leaders will quickly reckon with (and oh boy, tell me if they are not getting that recognition now) -they lay the golden egg our leaders selfishly and greedily feed upon, yet they are marginalised, oppressed and even killed while they had fully exhausted all lines of dialogue (remember Saro Wiwa). So much as I detest violence and killings in any shape or form, without fear of doubt I could say the damage could have been worse if for instance, crude oil comes from one of these sharia states in Nigeria and they are subjected to the same marginalisation these unfortunate Niger delta people face -by now I am sure Nigeria would have simply vanished from the map; just think of it -what does is take to incite riots up North?. Tell me,is it a crime to be blessed with natural resources? There are a lot of fundamental issues here which I don't want to go into, but before you raise any eyebrows, I need to confirm that I am not from Niger delta area. I support a Nigeria that is free, fair and opperate true Federalism like the USA we are trying to copy. Lastly, tough future awaits all of us who would venture to travel, because it is now official -we are a terrorist country, now ranked with the likes of Parkistan and Sudan; how worse can it get? Incessant religious riots and killings have been the norm in Northern Nigeria for as long as I can remember, much to the shame of all of us including our leaders who did nothing to stop this 'social cancer'. What recently has just happened is a normal cancerous progression , metastasis!; as we have now exported terrorism outside of the country naturally by default. Secondly if you are a confirmed Muslim, that is double jeopardy ( or call it double wahala for dead body and the owner of dead body), because being a Nigerian would set of any security alarm from now on in any Western country, but being a Nigerian Muslim would make the alarm scream 'catch am!'. So don't let us deceive ourselves. Get used to it! It will go a long way in alleviating the pain and insult. And believe me. there ain't nothing those clowns in Abuja could do about it. |
But why did Nigerian banks go bust when they are not so much exposed to the downturn in property market that led to the demise of most western countries' economy? |
72 or 70,000 virgins is one too many for one man. Anyway, what will the ladies who blow themselves up get in paradise? Please dont say 72 or 70,000 men, because dat na die! |
One thing still bugs me though. How can a jobless 23yr old have the money to be globe trotting? Why can't the father ground him, so he can for the first time in his life go look for work? Maybe he would't have got the money to go to Yemen. Who knows? |
Can someone please explain to me why the Northerners are so lawless and easily drawn to arms all in the name of a religion? Sadly still, nobody will be brought to book, it will damn be swept under carpet only for it to re-occur again. Do you preach a peaceful religion with AK-47, swords, daggers and machettes? Are we blind? I think we should drag ourselves to the International Court if we're not honest and bold enough to confront our glaring differences and start discussing the Terms and Conditions of going several ways. Haba, if you marry someone for the past 49yrs, and for every single day of those years has been heartaches, fighting, vilolence and killing of your children, I think it's only sensible to separate even if you don't believe in divorce. Our continuos living together seems virtually impossible despite all the patience, tolerance and forgiveness of all these years. We should start a national debate on this issue or something. I'm sick and tired of hearing and seeing this every year. If the western world just stand by and do nothing now to facilitate our peaceful separation, I do honestly believe a humanitarian catastrophe of unimaginable proportion is looming. God forgive me, humanly speaking, I just cannot see any future in that concept called Nigeria of today; it's only good for the archives |
This is very sad. You wonder where all the profits of previous years have gone? These poor people will just be let go with nothing. What an unfair world |
I am not an FBI profiler, but I can say this boy is timid and shy, unable to initiate a relationship with a woman, and yet dying to get laid. It's like part of his problem is that he wanted a woman badly and has been struggling without God's grace not to sleep with one outside wedlock. He seems to be comfortable on his father's amassed wealth and that(relationship with a woman) seem to be the only thing he lacked. And his father officially has 2 wives. Why was he not allowed to marry, I wonder, maybe that might have helped a bit? Who knows the way these psychos think Farouks' solution: Blow up a plane, die as a martyr, inherit 70,000 virgins all for yourself, and your problems shall be over. VERY SICK MIND! Newsflash man! Your problems just got started, and the way I see it bro, there is no end in sight. |
Illegal Chief Justice = Illegal Justice System = No law at all. Then scap everything gabadaya, except the President speaks directly to the nation about this additional national calamity |
Moderator: What will you do for the common man on the streets? Candidate 1: I will build houses for them Candidate 2: I promise even bigger houses including skyscrappers, so high there will be no need to pray to God again- Nna, na direct talk with God Moderator: What about health service? Candidate 1: I will employ more doctors and nurses, and build more hospitals Candidate 2: I promise hospital on every doorstep, there shall be no need for ambulances again. Moderator: What about the poor state of roads in Anambra? Candidate 1: We will pour sand and pebbles and fill all the potholes Candidate: As for me, I will tar everywhere, even plus including ya backyard Me: ![]() |
What an effrontery! When we never replace the man as President. What an insult to the Giant of Africa! Tell them we will sue all of the before the international court if they proceed with that ![]() |
N7.066 billion. Only? With all the bunkers and landing space for private jet included in the sum? Fairplay to you Sir, you are very modest and considerate! Your term in office shall know no end, wallahi! Other greedy politicians could have spent more than this. Long live Nigeria |
Me: And how many billions of dollars have they allocated for this kind gestures in a bid to help the CIA/FBI, as if that punk didn't pass through Lagos? Government official: After all he also did 'sneak' through security in Amsterdam! We informed the appropriate authority Me: No comment |
And a spoilt brat, raised in opulence, used to extravagance, never one day struggled for anything before in his life, and possibly being groomed to be our next President, And sadly, he is a Nigerian! Can you believe that? I thought initially he wasn't a Nigerian, but have come to terms with it, that dumb rich man's son is; or perhaps if we could convince the outside world that we are as a good gesture of international friendliness to our northern neighbour, giving up some land towards the North for them to cultivate, and quickly re-draw Nigeria's border, just drawing it a little bit southwards, he might end up being from Niger. But how could we pull this of with the Americans who are now p***ed off (and rightly so) and the whole world now watching? I thought our terrorism was only confined to Northern Nigeria, but boy oh boy, it is official, we're a terrorist country now and have started exporting Terrorists abroad What should we now do? Maybe we should all march down to Washinghton DC and start appealling to Obama's better nature. Or anyone with a better idea? |
The year Nigeria got official recognition for terrorism, no thnks to that spoilt rich man's son! |
Naw, don't be too pessimistic. It's always been hell, it can't be worse. Solution: 1. Make sure your name doesn't start with Abdul-anything, Usman (Uswoman could be a better option), Farouk (Orok sounds better), etc 2. If possible, relocate to Benin Republic or Togo, anywhere outside the country is a plus 3. If you can naturalise anywhere else, please act fast and pray you are accepted 4. Lastly, if you are a Nigerian with that green piece of junk called passport and so unfortunate to travel out and pass through the immigration or customs outside the country, don't bother putting on a belt, having any underwear, and no lace shoes, because it will go a long way at easing your agony at security strip-downs, no more security checks ![]() Get it? End of lesson |
Haba, how could he possibly pull of this feat when I understand he is in coma? If it were a sane environment that respects the rule of law, I would have said that this calls for an investigation. I am damn sure these dirty and greedy politicians used Oluwole's style to quickly get the budget through so that 'the party can begin in earnest'. They just couldn't wait anymore to get their hands on the 'government kudi' for sharing and mobilisation. Furthermore, I'm deeply pained that often we hear these billions and trillions of Naira budget are signed, but look around you in Nigeria, all you see around you is appalling poverty of millions of Nigerians, while this money still annually get 'spent'. You wonder where the money goes. I bet you this huge some of money isn't enough for the renumeration, bonuses and allowances of these agbada-claded politicians, let alone to trickle down to the unfortunate masses. Are these politicians aware that we are a laughing stock of the international community, or are they too greedily blindfolded by their flowing agbadas and babarigas? God help us! |
Respect to she who is dead and gone to meet her Maker as we all must one day do to give accounts of how we have lived our lives. But can someone tell me how IBB got the visa to the US in the first place Thought he was barred from travelling to the West sometimes ago because of his numerous crimes and for legalising corruption as it were in Nigeria? Was he not part of the fraudulent untouchables who viciously gang-raped Nigeria into a coma, destroying the future of her youths; and I must also say, destroying the nation's Health Services, to the point that the Giant of Africa could not boast of one good enough hospital to meet the needs of a former first lady? I got 2 additional years in the University because of closures orchestrated by this man, and I am one of the many economic migrants in diaspora, no thanks to him. But as it is written, do not repay evil for evil, I sincerely commiserate with him on the loss of his beautiful wife. Adieu Maryam! |
Before we start hailing Mutallab Snr as a true Nigerian, I have a few puzzling questions of my own, especially as someone who had lived and worked in core Northern Nigeria as a Southern non-Muslim, and witnessed first hand the dastardly and mindless acts of those extremists who incessantly kill in the name of their god during religious riots. I must first say that a blood-thirsty god who is meant to be all powerful but so weak he(or she, whosoever the being is) cannot do the killing himself but continuously depend on these hapless souls to do his dirty work all in the promise of enjoying a paradise with many virgins, is in my opinion, not worth being given any attention. Firstly, what is in it for Mutallab Snr for reporting his son to the US officials? Is it in a bid to save his many starched billions in the west, when he realised he had lost grip of his ‘saintly’ son because he knows the Americans would smoke his arse and cease the billions later for sponsoring a home and family grown terrorist, and that perhaps the CIA/FBI would come whisk him away overnight from Nigeria without the knowledge of the Nigerian Security Service? If all the Muslim fathers have been reporting their extremist sons/daughters to the authority and full weight of the law brought to bear on them, these incessant religious riots would have been history in Nigeria. Secondly, I am totally appalled by the responses of family and friends of Mutallab Jnr, who portraying him as deeply religious and ‘saintly’, yet insincerely saying they couldn’t believe he could plan to blow up a plane with 300 people. They shouldn’t pretend to be shocked by what they know and do best- that is killing in the name of their god. How many hundreds and thousands of Southern Nigerians have they so far killed and those in power turned the other way with nobody brought to justice? Or may be, the CIA/FBI should ask this dumb failed suicide bomber how many he has killed or assisted in their killing before now in Nigeria, because it is only psychopathically natural to want to kill many more after escaping justice following an initial few killings of ‘infidels’. Nobody would just wake up one day, wanting to go international and kill 300 innocent souls. Nobody, but sick psychopaths fighting for a sick and dumb god! This guy should face the music. He should even thank his stars that Guantanamo Bay is closing. |
Many Nigerians are decent economic migrant driven to foreign lands to struggle and fend for themselves by these shameless oligarchs who has hijacked the country and destroyed the future of her youths. I am deeply appalled that one of the offspring of these same people has followed us out of the country not to struggle and survive on demeaning jobs but to attempt to further tarnish our image abroad, adding terrorism to the long list. I am begging the US not to release this dumb spoilt kid to Nigerian government because of diplomatic wrangling but to allow him face the full wrath of the law there, sending clear signals to our corrupt leaders on how law and order is above all. He is a dumb Terrorist who even got himself burnt, caught in the act, witnessed by many, and should be treated like his other Al Qaeda cousins- end of story. I say LET JUSTICE PREVAIL! |

!
