Let the truth be told, the coup was one sided. Even if it were the Hausa Fulani officers that carried out same coup in 1966, killing only Igbo politicians, leaving their own tribes from the senseless executions, the Igbos would have done same thing the Norhern officers did....killing one of the finest officer, General Ironsi and thereafter went on with a massacre of innocent civilians and fellow officers.
