Carlos Oshodi. I think Seun would need to help us by tracking you down. An organization that handles trust based issues like scholarship can not afford to do this. The address on their website does not match what is used on the domain registration site. They also claim their website was started in 2005, but WHOIS shows it was registered in 2007. It is easy to spot the scam here. How can someone offer u a scholarship without being offered an admission to a particular school? U only apply for scholarships when u have a provisional admission at least. Does this scholarship application also come with admission application?

RomanceRe: She's Keeping Herself For The Wedding Night by hayo(m): 7:42am On Jan 12, 2009
Na real wa o. I totally respect a girl who can confess to you she is not a virgin and could still maintain her stand of not giving in to sin again. Most girls don't think like that but rather continue destroying their future because they think there is nothing to lose again; but we all know there is a lot to lose by continuing sleeping with men who will still hurt her.
This post goes a long way to show the decadence in man's mind and the fact that many have lost it. Most don't even believe that it is a bad thing to be sexually immoral. Some of these people deceive themselves by thinking they will change after getting married but it is a lie. God loves men n women who respect his laws and those who have made mistakes but genuinely repent and stop their old ways.
BTW - Some girls lost their virginity in bad ways. Imagine date rapes which is very common with guys. So if this happens to a girl; should she continue doing it cos the harm has been done? Nopes.
Also men are very funny - because there is no hymen on the penis does not give us a the right to condemn women whose virginity is easy to determine. If we do serious soul searching; most guys who have negative things to say about this lady are mostly serial sex slaves without a thought for their future. Real men will understand this lady and if her story touches them they can stay or tell her they are sorry and can't marry her. They won't come and post this on Nairaland.
Finally; we should all pray to God to give us our own wives/husbands. They can be virgin or non-virgin but they will bring happiness and contentment. Marrying a virgin man/woman does not guarantee happiness in marriage. The same girl can start messing around after marriage and same for the man. God help us all as we also make mature choices. Amen.
FamilyRe: Nigerian Women SPOIL men with their over tolerance by hayo(m): 9:14am On Sep 15, 2008
Well the World is fast changing. In the beginning - a man takes care of his home solely without his wife having to work. In those days - there were only menial jobs requiring stamina. Men were Lords then. A man goes to work in the farms and later in the Mines early in the morning before his family wakes up. The wife earnestly prays for his return everyday and waits for him at the door. She was also working at home taking care of the kids, doing laundry, e.t.c. But when he comes - she doesn't complain if with his sweaty body he tries making love to her 'because she is grateful he is exposing himself to so much danger daily to take care of his family.
As the days go by; wars were fought - homes become fatherless. Mothers had to raise the children alone and values started changing as the boys were raised without proper role models. Models of men who toiled and worked hard to fend for their families. Now, a new generation started coming up. Alas, technology improved things and the knowledge economy debuts. Women did not need to suffer again. They can also work and earn better salaries than even men. The good jobs are those done with brains and not brawn. The problem is now glaring. Does the present day man understand he is not in the 19th century again? Does he know that his traditional role as bread winner has been eroded? Is he aware that a home will do well financially without him? Does he understand that his new role is now different? No to the above questions. It is a big problem 'because a woman needs a man now not necessarily for his finances but to provide leadership, love and cherish her as well as the kids. To serve as a role model and not a shouting lion in the house. But most men are yet to wake up to this reality and are still living in the past. Women who cannot understand why these men are not aware of their needs now ultimately resolve to being single mothers and some don't even bother to marry again but have a child or more.
We know the consequences of these actions and the effect on our society. Dysfunctional children being raised here and there. I am married (recently) and I promised God I will not be like those men - but be the man God wants me to be. One who loves his wife without pushing her around. I respect her as my partner and help mate. We are friends - I will not cheat on her because I will offend God and her. I will also ensure our kids are raised in a lovely home. And I am a Nigerian man - proudly so! The problems I mentioned above are not Nigerian - they are linked to the entire human race. It is only when men understand their purpose that this will stop. Lets face the real issues and stop pointing fingers at abstracts - a man is a man wherever he comes from. The solution is to become real men as God wants. Sorry if this is a bit long,  I cry sometimes when I see the effect of these abnormalities on our societies.
Car TalkRe: How To Raise A Car Loan? by hayo(m): 8:52am On Jul 09, 2008
The young man is just asking for simple information and the ever present over-sabi Nairalanders latched on to him as usual. If you must know - one of the greatest cause of corruption in Nigeria is linked to the fact that we are a cash based economy where people pay for things once. This normally leads to anxieties for those that don't have jobs and those who just started or how can u advise a guy to patiently wait for 3 years to save enough to pay 2 years rent and then 7 years to buy a car. Reason for many looking for shortcuts to pay for these things. Why I am not into stupid bank loans but look at developed countries and even some smaller African countries - they pay rent monthly and get car loans at very cheap interest rates - hence not much pressure to steal. What we should be looking at is the failure of leadership that ensured high inflation and interest rates. My advice for the guy is simple - before u think of a loan - analyze it very well to avoid becoming trapped. Also, are u self-employed or work for a company? If u work for a company - a 600K loan is small enough and some companies help their employees with such loans or have arrangements with some banks for same. Explore your options well and think of the value the car will bring to you. Will it help you to do weekend runs that can make u more money? Or is it because of status symbol? Look well my guy before u leap. All the best!
EventsRe: How To Plan A Good Wedding? by hayo(m): 10:25pm On Jun 25, 2008
Get an excel sheet and start with a budget. The funds at ur disposal will determine what u can achieve. But note that though we all crave fairy tale wedding but the pocket is d real determinant here. It will not be fun if at the end of d wedding; both of u are in debts. It kills d marriage. So, determine how much u want to spend now that will not put u in trouble n start looking for vendors from now. For ur gown - u might want to check www.bridalonlinestore.com - the store is in d US n they have some cheap nice gowns. U can also identify d video n photo men from now plus other vendors. In your excel sheet - have a list of the months from now till December and infront of each - identify milestones u want to achieve. E.g July - Identify vendors. Sept - Pay part of Video man's money. If u do these things well - u have just become a wedding planner urself n on the way to a decent n memorable day.
After all of that - let me just tell u that my prayer is more for ur marriage and not only for d wedding party - that God will give u unlimited happiness.
Cheers!

CareerRe: Any Hope For Those "Unfortunate" To Have Finished With 3rd Class? by hayo(m): 7:31pm On May 17, 2008
The issue of the class u graduate with will haunt you probably for the first 3-4 years after graduation. That is why most of those that have castigated 2-2 and 3rd class will most likely fall into the category of recent graduates. Yes. I know this. By the 5th year, most accomplishments will be based on the kind of stuff u have pulled through. Some people have 3rd class in school and the are truly worth it because they have 3rd class mentality. Once a man is defeated in the mind, there is not much he can do to pull through. I have met 2-2 graduates who also despair in the class they graduated with. These set of people complain and nag all the time. And what is the outcome for those that nag? Remember the Israelites in the wilderness - they roamed for 40 years basking in their nagging. Sometimes God laughs at us when we think we are successful just because of the class of degree we made or that we are failures for same reasons. It is never in the dictionary of success - wake up and think big. There are a lot of things you can do. You might not be able to get access to write an aptitude test for a bank or oil company - but how may do they even recruit through this. But you can start in small strides rising steadily. And besides, while u start small - nothing stops a 3rd class graduate from doing professional exams. In 5 years - u can apply for the same experienced position a 1st class graduate could if u added the right skills in those 5 years and did not stay at home counting your misfortunes. And also, who says getting a job is the way to make it? Becoming an innovator or entrepreneur does not have a degree class qualification. Wake up man , there is a lot to be done. U need to prove to us that your 3rd class was a fluke. Yes! And when u make it -people will not believe ur class of degree.

Christianity EtcRe: Why Condoms Should Be Distributed In The Church by hayo(m): 11:25am On Mar 04, 2008
Every man has his/her believes and moral values are very personal to each individual. The fact that the bible expressly states that over-eating is a sin does not mean that pastors should start distributing anti-eating pills (they don't exist anyway). When God created man; he gave us free will so that we can make our own decisions and be ready to face the consequences of such. Why did God create the forbidden tree when he knew it can destroy man? Because he knew he doesn't want to control our will. The same reason he did not make a man and woman to only start having sexual feelings after marriage. He instilled the feeling right from adolescent age. So, why did we not all start having sex at 13 or 14 (Some even started earlier)? It is because we know it is wrong. The bible is explicit and clear about sex and the context in which it is supposed to be enjoyed (Marriage). But God will not force us to keep to this law, remember the principle of freewill. So, if my pastor preaches abstinence, I am free to sleep around but be ready to damn the consequences. Because of my randy nature; my pastor should not give me the option of using condoms. Let us even forget HIV and pregnancy - the two things most people use condoms to prevent. So, If I sleep with a girl, use a condom and feel there was not flesh involved; would I be so disengaged from any emotion arising from such a union? Have we not combined our spirits together regardless of the rubber? If I dump the girl, have I not been a part of her conquerors? Sleep with 10 girls with a condom, but will that confirm the fact that you are ok just cos u did not contact any STI? Churches and other religious and even just sensible human beings will continue to preach abstinence as the best. But do not worry; we understand the fact that all of us cannot control the brain between our legs (men n women inclusive).
CareerRe: Two Offers: A Banking Job And An Engineering Job by hayo(m): 1:53pm On Feb 12, 2008
We need to know the kind of Engineering job we are talking about. You will be surprised that a 60k per month job in 2008 can lead to a 300k per month job by 2010. If that is his passion; I think he should follow it. I think a 60k first job is not that bad especially if the prospects are good. Marketing job in a bank might be juicy for now but if you don't have rich uncles and friends; I pray you don't regret it, especially since he doesn't particularly like the industry.

PoliticsRe: Exchange Of Blows Over Patricia Etteh by hayo(m): 9:04am On Sep 21, 2007
Some people on this thread mentioned that people from her constituency should be ashamed of themselves. I beg to disagree - who told you that she was loved by her community? This is a woman that has been in the house since 1999 and cannot boast of a single contribution to the community. I am from the same town as her and cannot even see anything she has done. She is one of the many undoings of OBJ. She was even going to lose the seat to AC but high level intimidation and rigging paved way for her because of OBJ's grand plot to install her as speaker. The other day, an ignorant under-employed human being from my town was claiming we should support her - I said no and that if people like Etteh had done their job well - people like him will have good jobs or at least a hope of a better job.
I am ashamed of the average Nigerian politician without shame and sense of judgment. Does she have to wait till she is booted out? Can't the hairdresser save face and bring some reprieves to the Nigerian political climate? I tire o!

"Man, use your head! Even the title of this thread says 'Honour to Mary'. Where have you seen any Catholic claiming to worship Mary? I'm sorry to be so harsh, but it's pretty dense when people like you keep parroting this untruth"

Christianity EtcRe: Glory To Jesus, Honour To Mary! All The Real Catholics Please Stand Up! by hayo(m): 5:58pm On Sep 18, 2007
@Ebos - Your argument tire me o - I expected more from you sha. Be careful about jesting with biblical truths - I will proceed to give you references -
Lion of Juda is a biblical truth.
Rev 5:5
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

So is Jesus described as a Lamb
John 1:36
And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

And even the Holy Ghost as a dove
Luke 3:22
And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Now show me where Mary was equated as the holy spirit or our access to God. Also show me where we were required to worship her. Use biblical facts - run from Heresy and Apostasy.
Christianity EtcRe: Glory To Jesus, Honour To Mary! All The Real Catholics Please Stand Up! by hayo(m): 4:23pm On Sep 18, 2007
@ Fantastico
You people have started heresies and apostasies o - I thot Jesus is the foundation o, where is it written in the bible about CC being the foundation of God's Church?
And note Eph 2:18 - the only access we need to the father is through Jesus by the help of the Holy Spirit. Mary, we adore 'cos she is blessed amongst women but she is not the holy spirit. Search the scriptures well.

Eph 2:18
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Eph 2:19
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

Eph 2:20
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Christianity EtcRe: Glory To Jesus, Honour To Mary! All The Real Catholics Please Stand Up! by hayo(m): 2:48pm On Sep 18, 2007
My God! Can't you just see that the bible says that you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free! I wonder why people think spiritual things are just only logical and sentimental. Most Catholics that have spoken used those two emotions without any spiritual backing - most don't even have deep understanding of the bible. I am sure that reading the scriptures with open mind will help anyone seeking to know the truth. Pilgrim.1, you have not just been very articulate with your positions but I can also see life and light emanating from your words.
If you want to know - there are so many things in the Quran that should make the Pope shiver. If the Pope is a Christian - his death sentence is in the Quran. For your information - all Christians are infidels and should be killed according to the Holy Quran. Now, a book that promotes a vice like this being kissed by the Pope shows his acceptance of the ideals. Someone even said that Jesus is highly revered in the Quran - lie from the pit of hell. The story of Jesus is captured in Surat Mariam in the Quran and the basis of our Christianity was rubbished there. For your information - the Quran claims that Jesus was never crucified and that Allah changed with someone else who was then killed in his place. My basis for being saved is because Jesus died for my sins and made me blameless - a religion that negates that is not to be romanced by me.
If you have any justification why my following Christ is wrong - let me know, but I think you have none. I have several reasons to believe that Catholicism is not what it claims to be - why not listen to the truth and do a little research of your own instead of becoming so emotional about the faith of the fathers.
There are different roles mentioned in the bible including five fold ministries - Pastor, Evangelists, Teachers, Prophets and Apostles together with offices like deacons and bishops. If the office of Pope is so important, why was it not mentioned in the Bible? And why the sin of adding to the word of God and removing from it as it suits us. Where did the Bible proclaim Peter as the 1st Pope. Peter will be sad to know how his name has been so desecrated. Peter, a man who was part of the Pentecost who understands the workings of the Holy Spirit, who was not recorded to have taken part in any incense-based rituals. A man whom Christ called the pillar of his Church, who ministered in the Holy Spirit. Really, can we say that most Catholics are baptized in the holy Ghost? Nopes. Most don't even believe in it.
I pray sincerely that the words of Christ in Mark 15:7-9 will find expressions in your hearts. Amen.

There have been at least 12 editions of the U-17 world cup and each time; we claim our players are over-aged which I agree to. But how many times have we won it? I think it is Nigerian to criticize everything. Jesus says in the scripture that he who is without sins should cast the first stone. There are many people who are throwing stones and not looking at their own lives. I have seen so many changing their ages to be able to sit for aptitude tests after school. Some reduce their age by up to 5-6 years to accomplish the age requirements and yet it is only football that we keep shouting about. I can also say that at least 90% of JAMB candidates in the last 10 years did Orijo. I am not supporting lying at age grade competition but let us be more objective and stop the hating. Check your neighbors, yourselves, siblings and relatives - then shout about 24 year olds playing U-17 football.

FamilyRe: Would You Marry A Girl Who Earns Twice Your Salary? by hayo(m): 5:52pm On Sep 03, 2007
@ Peju - yes it will be hard to submit to a man that is not earning as much as you. But as I said- what would you do if the man you married 'cos he has more money suddenly loses his job or you got a bigger job/lucrative business after you got married? Just be open minded and as for being desperate - it is not as easy as that. The world is more complex and remember that women at different stages of their lives have all sorts of expectation about the kind of man they will marry. Maybe when you are ready to marry and you find the love of your life - I hope you will not allow such a temporary status to sway your decision the wrong way.
FamilyRe: Would You Marry A Girl Who Earns Twice Your Salary? by hayo(m): 5:08pm On Sep 03, 2007
In this competitive 21st century - anything can happen at any time. Imagine getting married to a lady working in a bank and you earn more than her. 1 year down the line; she gets a job with an Oil company - now her salary is like 3 times your's. What do you do? I think the best thing is to have other basis for getting married and not about the money. The scenario I painted can also happen in the reverse order. If a lady earns more than me now, it is no indication things will remain d same way for long. As far as I am concerned; earn your partner's respect in other ways! And for the very egoistic male in the house - bad news - Women will most likely be getting the juicy Marketing and sales jobs more than men. Find a way to get yourself better and also earn their respect in the real sense of it.

To all you Udeme haters - check this out. The advert has brought great humour to us
Also my worst advert is Yoyo Bitters - very stupid.

My friend Udeme is a great man!

Udeme wakes up at home with a huge hangover. He was out all night enjoying his company's Xmas party where Guinness Stout flowed very well. He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table.
He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and pressed. He looks around the room and sees it is in prefect order. So's the rest of the house.
He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table: "Honey, breakfast is on the stove, I left early to go shopping so I can prepare your best dish - Afam Soup and Pounded Yam. Love you."
He goes to the kitchen. Sure enough, a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper await him.
His son is also at the table, eating. Udeme asks, "Son, what happened last night?"
His son says, "Well, you came home after 3 am, drunk and delirious. You broke some furniture, puked in the hallway, and gave yourself a black eye when you walked into the door."
Confused, Udeme asks, "So, why is everything in order and so clean, with breakfast on the table waiting for me?"
His son replies, "Oh that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom, and when she tried to take your pants off you shouted, "Lady, get your hands off me! I'm married!"
Surely, my friend Udeme is a great man - but there is a drop of greatness in every man! Drink Stout and you will say the right words smiley
