RomanceRe: An Open Warnin To My Proud Roomie Who Treats Her BF Like Poo-I'll Take Your Man by hayo(m): 12:27pm On Jun 29, 2010
What are we no going to read here on NL.
I will be very frank with you.
1. I think you have missed intimacy and now an opportunity to do it with just a lil bit of conscience affected has presented itself.
2. Your self-worth is in serious red. Babe, that reason for wanting to sleep with that girl is the most stupid in this World.
3. If ever u need to teach the girl a lesson; why not set her up, get a confession on tape about her escapades and reveal same to d guy the same way she has been damaging your reputation. And that is even an extreme as it might not be worth it but much more sensible than showing ur ho side.
4. Move out of d place u share with d girl. The people u surround urself with largely determine your stand on issues and integrity.

In conclusion, I have a feeling u have already decided and I don't understand why u have to rush here to give us the news. But if there is any small chance that you'd have sense and track back , then best of luck. A girl like your room mate who sleeps around might have infected her Boyfriend with HIV. And then when u sleep with him, u have a high chance of getting same. Maybe this is your chance of redemption. Cheers!
RomanceRe: He Called Off Their Wedding! by hayo(m): 10:27pm On Jun 04, 2010
Please let somebody introduce this girl to Steve Pienar's(Everton/South African midfielder) baby momma. She just sued him for 10M Rands for breaking his promise to marry her LOL. http://www.kickette.com/baller-beware-steven-pienaar-sued/

Ok ok ok ,  let me be serious. It is a painful thing and people have given some great advice and she also said she has been attending church. But for the wrong reasons, she is trying to USE God and his people to numb her pain. That isn't a good motivation girl. Imagine she is still sleeping with the guy, that shows you are not ready to heal.

Think about your life first, attain some level of self worth and maybe then you can move on. I think though you try to sound like a liberated woman, you are far from it.
FamilyRe: I Love Her But Should I Break Up With Her? by hayo(m): 10:06am On May 25, 2010
- I find it very hard to believe this tale by the moonlight.
In this age n time and men still fall for stupid girls like this? In ancient times, a man can marry a liability and people would even applause him. But the liability most likely wont look you in the face and dictate what you must do in the house cos u are like the Lord in the house. But this is the 21st century where women are now liberated and freed from the former prejudice. So, its either you marry a woman who has a source of income or one who is ambitious enough with hope of either getting a job or being enterprising. And she must be understanding too. Any woman you want to marry who has this trait you have described is going to leave u later for a wealthier man when you get broke which is a matter of time.
If your tale is true, then you must be a Mumu and thank God you have come to a place where blunt advices are given. Best of luck to you.
CareerRe: Ericsson Moves To Sack Nigerian Employees, Hire Indians As Replacement by hayo(m): 7:47am On Apr 16, 2010
@ Mbulela - I totally agree with you about the fact that management destroyed the company. I must state that it started with the stupid HR policies used by the organization. A situation where many who just wanted to do their jobs but get well paid are frustrated. When there is salary increase each year, you might get a 10K Naira increase per month but if you move from level 5 to 4 (Manager), that might spell 2.5 M to 7.5 M per annum. That was the cause of the rush for manager or senior specialist roles. But the real problem was escalated when Celtel came on board. People were of the opinion that they would control the creation of posts but that was not the case.

It is interesting to note that the real core network departments were not even well staffed whilst some departments were over staffed. That said; I also agree totally with you about control. In some countries, an employer must first prove that no local could do the job before employing an expatriate, we don't do that in Nigeria. But my issue is still this - looking at the network department, I can still say that the salaries they took home cannot be compared to the many HODs, directors and Chiefs who were the real cause of the problem.

And u mentioned that they did not make profit from that year. Well, that isn't totally unexpected as that was the year the dollar reigned and most of the CAPEX and even OPEX in the Telecoms industry are usually dollar based. So any company looking for big profits that year was looking for too much. I still believe you cannot tie the performance to salaries incurred by majority Level 6 and 5 staff of network departments. No! Have you thought about the diesel cartels, contract inflating mechanisms, fat executive pays? Check it out well for me and compare the level of staff transferred to Ericsson. U will find very few managers there.
CareerRe: Ericsson Moves To Sack Nigerian Employees, Hire Indians As Replacement by hayo(m): 6:31pm On Apr 15, 2010
@Dasa.
It is so painful. Telecoms industry is like the main one that has provided hope for many Nigerians. Since 2001, Nigeria has produced many skilled Telecoms Engineers. This is about to be slowed down. So it is not only about job losses alone but that skills level on the rise would go down.
The story of Econet/Vmobile/Celtel/Zain is a tragedy. A company that used to be the bride of sharp intelligent people now reduced to a LovePeddler. The company was better of being Vmobile, oh those days. Celtel started d crash and now Zain totally brought it to ruins. A proudly Nigerian company disgracefully destroyed. So those who are talking anyhow should understand that there is more to this story than just the looming job losses.
I repeat, South Africa would never allow MTN or other proudly South African companies to go through such. We should also understand the meaning of capital flights. Can Nigerians do the jobs that are about to be outsourced? Yes. Will Indians do it better, I say No. Would this affect the economy of Nigeria. Yes. Positively or Negatively - Negatively cos jobs will be lost and monies that should be in the economy will be siphoned to India.
Do you know that serious countries do not allow 100% profit flight out of their shores? Nigeria allows foreign countries to take all their profits back. MTN's profits all go back to SA. Now, a lot of Zain money are going to d Middle East. I think their should be a huge class action to ruin the deal in Nigeria. Maybe Goodluck can do something sensible for once.
CareerRe: Ericsson Moves To Sack Nigerian Employees, Hire Indians As Replacement by hayo(m): 5:40pm On Apr 15, 2010
If you understand the dynamics of the Telecoms industry in Nigeria, then it will be easy to understand that this move is the crap of the year.
The first goof was the outsourcing of network staff from Zain to Ericsson. I would believe that Zain wanted 3 things to happen
1. Reduce costs of salary and total cost of employment
2. Improve network quality
3. Face the business of selling airtime

I can confidently say that 1 has failed. If we do have a government that has sense, their should be a probe to rubbish my claims. Zain is spending more money both for outsourced staff to Ericsson and the IT staff moved to ITS, another Arabian spin off to siphon money from Nigeria. 2 is also a failed bid as it is still d same guys doing the work and u cannot really say the situation has changed. 3, I am not so sure but companies like MTN and Glo who still maintained status quo are doing better with subscriber base and new products.
So what has been the use of the outsourcing spree?
Now the shame has gone further. India would now be the place , wow. Now can you see why even with the sexual libido of Jacos Zuma, he is much more of a leader than all our idiots combined. He sensed Bharti's nonsense from afar and his government made sure the deal with MT broke down. That is what we call a country, always looking out for its citizens.
As Ajanlekoko said, we will watch with amusements as the remote support is carried out.

Human nature and undue competition.
U would realize that most of those office politicians also have bad relationships, bad marriages, etc. They can never be good friends. The end is always bad for them. I guess it has something to do with background and undue family competitions cos it happens in families too.
My advice if you are in such environments - know your job well, watch your back always, play by the rules. Never commit to anything by word of mouth, if possible confirm everything by email and avoid too closeness at work.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by hayo(m): 12:49pm On Mar 24, 2010
Hmmm ,
They think that if you graduate at 21, that means you are brilliant and that the 30 year old graduate struggled a lot with SSCE and JAMB and can be questioned as regards his intelligence. This is a fallacy of generalization and has no concrete backing though we can say it applies in some situation.

This has forced a lot of people to change their age several times. U will be shocked at the number of people around you who have reduced their ages. It didnt start now, even our parents are guilty of it. In their own cases, they know that the retirement age is 55, hence a need to push their retirement further. For example, a 30 year old man just joining the civil service has 25 years to work, so he will prefer to become a 25 year old to have 5 more years.

Lack of proper record systems is the cause of all this. It is just unfortunate that the society provides too many avenues to make its citizens liars. And that is why I ask people to check themselves before criticizing our age grade national teams when they lie. It is all around us/

Guru Maharaji devotees say Egypt will beat Eagles today

Print print Email email Share Share

"This is not the one that after Egypt had beaten Eagles, and we start talking, and they will now say that, why didn't we say so before the match."

These are the words of Adefolarin Kolawole, a devotee of the self-acclaimed perfect master, Sat Guru Maharaji, who believes he needs to let the world know that the Super Eagles will lose today because the team coach, Shaibu Amodu, gave the credit for the Eagles' qualification for the World Cup to the head of the Synagogue Church of God for All Nations pastor, Temitope Balogun Joshua, instead of Sat Guru Maharaji, his devotees and the entire Nigerians that prayed and fasted for the team.

Kolawole came to NEXT office in Oregun yesterday with five other devotees and the dialogue went thus:

How would you identify yourself?

My name is Adefolarin Ajisere, a devotee of Sat Guru Maharaji, the living perfect master

Apart from being a devotee of Guru Maharaji, what else do you do?

For long now, I am a technician anyway but I volunteered to opt for service to save humanity and see that opportunity in Maharaji and so I joined.

It seems you do not like Nigeria from the text message you sent me. You said Nigeria will lose the match because of Amodu. Why?

Not because of Amodu, because Amodu and his crew members went to T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue to give him the glory for our World Cup qualification, that was not due to TB Joshua. That is the main bone of contention there; we are arguing that the glory taken to T.B. Joshua was not meant for him. Therefore, for making such a blunder we just have to come out now to show them that it was a blunder. The glory is for Guru Maharaji because we know how it all started, the glory is for Guru Maharaji, not T.B. Joshua

How did it start?

You see, we beg Maharaji, we went to him; we have a club we called special fans club comprising many young devotees of Maharaji. We like Nigeria. Since Maharaji has been talking people seem to be so lukewarm but we know that the power is with Maharaji. We cannot have a situation where monkey is working and baboon eating that is why we decided to speak out this time.

You see, how did it all happen? There was a time Nigeria was in a fix, nobody knew that they could ever qualify for the World Cup. We went to Maharaji that, look at what is happening; we don't want it to be so. However, it is going to be Maharaji please help us; let Nigeria qualify for the World Cup. So he looked at us and he first laughed; he asked, ‘you want them to qualify?' And he told us what to do that time, and we went ahead, we did those things; what we know it's a scientific thing. I'm not revealed that.

Why? Give us an insight whether scientific or not.

It is like that. Maharaji told us what to do; the number of hours to meditate, the number of flowers of that we should give, just to beg the ancestors and we got the result.

Who are these ancestors?

Your ancestors, my ancestors; all those who were before we are here. We regard them so much. But Amodu did not do all these, He said he went to T.B. Joshua and it is him that gave us the World Cup ticket. That is what we are here to prove; if it is true that is T.B. Joshua that gave them the ticket, then now we want to put it to test. The Super Eagles are playing with Egypt today.

And you said they are losing 2-0

Yes they have lost; the Super Eagles have to lose

Is it just losing, or losing 2-0?

Left to me they should lose 3-0, losing is losing whether 1-0 or 7-0 and they are going to lose their second match too

If they win today, what will happen?

No problem. No, don't worry now; we are putting it to test

Is it a test or a prediction?

It is not a prediction; we are telling you that for insulting the God Father power, we are telling you that we have told the NFF what to do. Any time Nigeria is playing, pick anybody that is a devotee of Guru Maharaji, let them be on that field, if they would lose, come and arrest that person first and start flogging that person that is there.

Who did you tell in the NFF?

We have document; we have our website; we have series of press releases all over.

When the plane crashes were going on in Nigeria, we wrote to the Nigeria Airspace Mmanagement Authority that put this badge (of Maharaji) in the plane; you don't need to let people see it and let's see if the planes would crash again. If the plane crashes, come and arrest Maharaji, but they did not listen. The same way Maharaji has been writing press releases; that just pick a Nigeria devotee to the field when Nigeria is playing but they would not listen. If they win now, they will still go back to T.B. Joshua but I am telling you that Guru Maharaji is a practical man; they would not win today.

But what if they win?

Let's leave it like that; they will lose and will also lose their second match

So the argument is that they should have met Guru Maharaji not TB Joshua?

Not even meeting Guru but giving honour to whom honour is due. He shouldn't have gone to Joshua openly; he is giving him undue honour.

You can call T.B. Joshua and let him give his words concerning the match; Egypt is beating Nigeria tomorrow and Nigeria is crashing out in the first round.

Is there anything that we can do now to salvage the situation?

No, it is too late. Anything about Nations Cup is too late but we give Nigeria the World Cup. Let us leave the Nations Cup to Joshua and see what becomes of him.

If Nigeria wants the World Cup they should turn to Maharaji.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Soludo Caused The Massive Bank Layoffs by hayo(m): 2:27pm On Dec 23, 2009
So these few months of Sanusi's tenure suddenly made Nigerian banks to go from Billions of profits to loss?
And the bad loans uncovered are fictitious?
The jets bought by bank excos are also a figment of our imaginations?
And please note that at least GTBank posted profits and their books are fine.
I have now realized it will be hard for this country to get it right. Lets call a spade a spade. The fact that a man exposed a rot doesnt mean he is bad and that he caused our woes. The woes would have come out somehow.

@ Poster, thanks for saying the truth. Some people would have been blinded by their anger and blame the man who is doing the cleaning rather than analyse where the problem came from. However, I think having a weak leader as a President and having a strong one in CBN is a big problem. If we have good leaders all round, every part of our nation would have been impacted rather than trying to clean one part which wont work. It is not sensible to heal one part of the body and leave the rest. So instead of blaming Sanusi for doing his job, lets blame our sick President for not providing leadership to heal the whole country. Until we have leaders in all sectors dedicated to nation building; the likes of Sanusis, Ribadu, Okonjo-Iweala etc will always be blamed for the reforms they carry out in their own sectors.

I will just advise everyone to grow daily. Learning new things never kill. But I must say there are many talented developers, designers etc in Nigeria. Do u know that the GT bank website with all the nice functionalities was done by a Nigerian? In fact most big company websites are done by Nigerian companies but the case is that it is done by a team and not one individual.
So, if I see an individual working on a 100K website alone by adapting some nice graphics and wordpress, I wont blame him. Same guy could have teamed with some other talented individual to do a better website on a big budget.

Just another waste of precious money to find out the obvious.
The rot in the educational sector is not a mutually exclusive one. We have failed in almost all areas including health, infrastructures, sports and education. We don't need any soothsayer to tell us the reason for our failure- they are our politicians who incorrectly assume the title of leaders. We cannot solve education only neither can we face electricity. We have to go back to basics if we are serious at all. Ghana was a failed nation but today they are becoming a role model in Africa and beyond. When we are ready to become a good nation, we know what to do. The morons who keep recycling themselves have to go and I support non-violent means. Lets see how many of us will file out to register when the time comes for voters registration.

The salary is small compared to d real corruption going on in those places. They make more money from shady deals. If they take this salary alone n work, our democracy will not be as costly as it is. I can't but laugh.

When those criminals handling our stock exchange want to make sure unsuspecting investors buy shares; they allow listed companies to paint a picture of scarcity and high worth to their stocks. This makes people to rush the shares. There is a story of a sharp man who went to a distant land with a servant. He told every member oft he community to get him monkeys at 5 dollars each. They brought many monkeys to him and he paid and kept the monkeys in an enclosure. He suddenly traveled leaving behind his servant. His servant revealed a GREAT secret to the villagers - his boss will soon start paying 50 dollars a monkey when he returns as the monkeys are a special breed and that he will sell each monkey abroad for 100 dollars. Now, all the monkeys in the village have been captured. The servant was so much in love with the villagers that he proposed a scheme to them - he will be releasing the already captured monkeys to them at 25 dollars and they sell back to the master at 50 dollars. They were so happy for this get rich scheme and there was a scramble to borrow money and source for money from relatives in other climes. In 2 days, all the captured monkeys were bought from the servant at 25 dollars each.
The next day, the servant was no where to be found. LOL.

My point - a sense of scarcity makes people to rush the commodity in question. Why is it that petrol stations make more money when petrol is scarce smiley.
I treasure women so much. I have a beautiful wife and an adorable daughter. From the realities on ground, it is either females exceed males or we don't have many ready males who are willing to settle down. Also, a 40 year old man can marry an 18 year old girl. So men have a greater pool to choose from while a woman sticks to older men who in any case might even prefer to marry younger girls.

Sincerely, the monkey story I told is the realities of investment portfolios in the world but I would prefer it works in the man-woman debate 'cos most men really don't cherish their women. I also believe that you can't attract goodness if you don't radiate same.

When strange bed fellows sleep together, what kind of leadership do we expect apart from mediocrity.
Also, the notion that becoming an ordinary councilor automatically brings wealth is destroying us as a people. It is so sad and I pray that one day we will have parties formed as a result if strong ideologies and not the comedic parties we have in Nigeria.
That is only when we are ready to move.

I feel like crying now - reading all these ethnic bashing, et al is a pointer to d crisis in this country.
Our political elites whether Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Niger Delta, Fulani etc are the ones destroying us all.
They keep looting the treasuries but here we are only interested in bashing each other.
For me, there are only 2 ethnic groups in Nigeria - the bad and good people.
I can count a lot of bastards n thieves within my own ethnic group. I bet you can too.
The North that you have been accusing of having all the good things from the Niger Delta should be examined properly.
There is no part of Nigeria with more destitute and Al-Majiris than the North. Yet, its elite continue stealing their money. They also have the highest illiteracy rate in the country. Now, if I am to slap anyone, I won't slap a normal human who is just trying to make his//her living but those rats occupying high offices and doing nothing to help.
Same for Niger-Delta. How the Oil money will be used if totally in the hands of the Deltans should be known from now from the little that is going to them at the moment. The likes of Ibori, Alams, etc should be asked what they did with allocations. And also sincerely think what more they could have done with a bigger share of the oil LOOT?
Past South Western governors are not left out. They have successfully destroyed all the good works of Awolowo and Akintola. A region that boasted of agricultural products which led to great developments in those days and cannot even do anything with the Oil money. The things the South West look up to till today were those built with Cocoa money.
Only the bad political class have enjoyed from the proceeds from Niger Delta and that is the truth.
I am just sad that most of us can't even analyze this and know the real problem but we keep saying ignominious things on this thread. Let's find out the real enemy and deal accordingly with it. If u must know - Ghana also has multiple tribes, I know they will do better than us cos they found out the real enemy in the days of Rawlings.

Even though u were recommended for the job; there was an interview process where your capabilities were put to test.
If they don't think you have the potentials, the job won't even come near you in the first instance.
Think of it this way - if u studied computer science or IT in college, I can say they gave u d job due to your degree. But to offer a Physics graduate such a job means they actually studied you enough. Programming is not just any job you can offer any sharp graduate.
I think you are just fretting over nothing. There are times in our careers even for those with a lot of experience when we hit brickwalls. But my dear, it mostly reside in your head as your bosses might actually be impressed with you at the moment meanwhile you were thinking otherwise.
You need to start using the power of positive thinking from now. Think that your projects and codes will come out well. Be focused. Join coding forums and get mentoring from more senior coders (A lot of dem are here in NL). And as someone said; Google is ur best friend in this. It is more of a suicide mission taking Okada on higways. And as many rightly said; there is nothing like Okada in good countries - Good as in developed with a good system. It is an indication of poverty and bad planning to see so many Okadas in a country. Before I am crucified, yeah there are Motorbikes in good countries but they are not for commercial purposes but for leisure, personal movement, courier, police etc.
Lets look at it this way; the proliferation of Okadas came more as a result of NEPA! Yes NEPA now Problem Has Changed Names (PHCN).
A lot of artisans left their trade to start riding Okada cos of electricity problem. I know a lot of them. Secondly; when d Northerners heard about the boom in Lagos, the migration started. You need to know the way Achabas (As they are called in d North) operate. They are Kings on the road while the cars take second fiddle. That is why a Northern Okada rider in Lagos will want to slap you after scratching your car 'cos he thinks he is still in his hometown.
Until government works well with good infrastructures which includes alternative transportation systems, good roads and electricity. Okada will continue to be a necessary evil.

Wait o everybody. We keep saying his generation, his generation. How old is Abati sef?
The man was born in 1965. A lot of people in this forum are close to that age lol (44). If we do a demographic exercise; we have a lot of 30+ in this forum, is that a lie? If u ask Abati too, he will tell you that is own generation was also affected by the older ones lol.
My own thots are as follows:
Abati was way off his marks in this. Mentioning names directly was not right. We all know a lot of the songs are plain meaningless but there is a better way to write and not elicit such a response. His hasty generalization of Nigerian youths as OLODOs (Well he did literally) also was a shot in his leg. Next time, he will face his role as a government critic. LOL
My biggest grouse with him is adding Rooftop MCs to his list. Shuoooooo.
RomanceRe: Marriage Is A Beautiful Institution But Why The Break-ups ? by hayo(m): 3:16pm On Jun 16, 2009
Before one gets married - it is important to ask a simple question - Why am I doing this?
Most times, the answers are very selfish. Hence, little wonder that the marriages fail or the people involved will just keep enduring it to the end.
Marriage should be based on God's laws but we are a very intelligent and brilliant generation with no need for God. We thus have our own ideas and no need for the ultimate pre-requisite laid down by our creator who obviously knows more than us. I will share some things he wants:

1. Maturity: He expects both parties to be matured not just in age but in character. He expects the man to be able to lead his house spiritually. He also expects the woman to be a leader too. If a man and woman are not ready to provide leadership in their house, they have no business considering marriage. When a man is spiritually matured, his woman respects him more , same vice versa.

2. Chastity: You cannot just become chaste or faithful after getting married. Infidelity is a leading cause of bad marriages and divorce in our world. A guy who slept with you while dating might be sleeping with another woman too but found you to be the best. Being married to you then doesn't mean he is gonna stop. Wake up from your dreams. The bible was explicit saying that - marriage is honorable and the bed undefiled. Some say how can one have experience if you don't try it before. Contrary to your opinion; having experience actually destroys your marriage more - that is when you can compare and contrast. And you start one day, even if it is after marriage - it doesnt mean you will not be able to become a master lover.

3. Finances: This is a big issue. Money matters a lot but not how much you have but in how both of you can relate with money.
You have to be on the same page regarding money and be sincere from the beginning. The way your partner handles money when you are dating should be watched.

4. The decision to be happy: Some people just don't want to be happy! That is the truth. For me, I made a decision that I want to be happy in my marriage and it is a driving point for me. The decision to be happy can only work if you make the other person happy. So I decided I will make my wife and kids happy so I can be happy too. I also begged my wife before we married to have the same mentality. We decided that if we have any differences; we must settle it immediately and don't keep malice. That works a lot as there will always be issues but keeping them under the pillow is the problem.

5. Praying and doing other good things together: Our God cannot be mocked. If you and your partner are spiritual soul mates; it is easy for you. Before you mess up, you will remember how highly he/she holds you and have a rethink. Also, it will be hard for you to keep praying together when you are having problems so you will be forced to say your grievances out.

6. A good sex life: It should be in number one actually smiley
Believe me, your sex life will have issues mostly due to past baggage. I mentioned earlier that some people think the more you did b4 getting married, the better. Foul! The key is in being open to each other and telling your partner what you want without being ashamed. There is no harm in learning together. There are materials (Not Porn) that helps if you need one otherwise, nature takes it course.

7. Family and Friends: The men are the worst culprit in this regards. You must have the necessary level of maturity to protect your wife. She must not be caught in a cross fire in your family. Also wives - be careful about how you expose your husband to your friends and family. Keep it inside.
Your matters are best resolved in-house.
