egbe12:How man go do? The streets iz cray. Na sense be the ultimate power. And for us wey no fit siddon for house dey jonse (always hanging out, always out there), we have learnt the rules to help avoid stories that touch. We can argue all day about what's right or wrong and how things are supposed to be, but the truth is that we must learn to survive the reality on ground today before we campaign for change tomorrow. I can't tell you how many tricky situations I've waltzed through smoothly (including encounters with security agents, OPC/vigilante, potential robbers, roughnecks, drunken/drugged up maniacs, beefing-from-afar losers, etc) , which could have easily ended very badly. Good old easy charm works wonders. It doesn't work all the time, but it works at least 90% of the time. |
Follysho777:I suspect these guys could have been a bit too aggressive and confrontational. If one must mingle successfully in the mean streets, it is crucial to be fully armed at all times - not with a weapon - but with your discretion, wisdom, common sense, and 'fake' disarming charisma. These are the best protection against the uncertainties and volatility of the streets. No be everything require gra gra. You'll just mess yourself up for something that might have been easily prevented with a simple 'Bros na one love jare, nothing do you'. |
slyfoxxjoe:Even the Queen's motorcade is stripped down and can never be as elaborate as Trump's. |
uwajeh:This is just an academic differentiation if you ask me. In times of war or other military operations, it's not the Queen that issues orders to the Armed Forces. It's the Prime Minister. So what gives? The contemporary of US President in the UK is the Prime Minister. . The difference in motorcade is just down to the difference in outlook between the American and British way of doing things. The latter are renowned for their conservatism and simplicity. |
A shithole country can't help itself. It seizes every opportunity to advertise its shithole credentials. Imagine this fat piece of shit that calls himself Chief of Air Staff publicly making a fool of himself by commissioning shitty projects (with the associated eye-service, tape-cutting ceremonial jamboree) at a time when there is national and international outrage about the missing school girls! Did he "relocate" to Yobe State to commission the shitty projects or to help rescue the girls? This is an example of the proverbial foolish man who is busy chasing rats when his house is on fire. Do these yeye projects have any direct operational or strategic significance to the urgent matter of rescuing the girls? Why do we always get our priorities twisted in this country? Yeah I know why. Because we're a first-grade shithole country, that's why. |
Unless she is Mike Adenuga's daughter or Jim Ovia's favourite niece, a man would be a big fool to forgive a cheating partner in this country. |
Moorish:These kinds of circular arguments show how confused we are as a people. Crude oil prices fall, we're doomed. Crude oil prices rise, we're also doomed. Where's the role of leadership in all of this? We can't keep making silly roundabout excuses for Buhari's woeful failure. |
Moorish:Since you seem to like questions, and assuming you're an honest man, then I have a few questions for you too. Is the price of fuel tied to the price of crude oil? If it is, then how come fuel was cheaper (N65/N95/N85 per litre) when crude oil prices were higher under the previous administration, compared to now when crude oil prices are lower and YET we're buying fuel for more than N145 per litre? Is it true that inflation happens when there is excess money (courtesy of higher crude oil prices) chasing relatively few goods? If so, then how come general/essential commodity prices (including locally produced foodstuff, groceries, staples etc) are now FAR more expensive under this current regime of lower crude oil prices and lower government revenues (supposedly) than the previous regime of high oil prices? Why is there a greater level of inflation under this regime even though the price of crude (and by extension l, government income) is lower than the previous regime? |
FunkyAlhaji2015:Save for a few exceptions, this is generally true. Just take a comparative look at the two countries - Zimbabwe and China, evaluate their respective levels of progress and development (and their comparative levels of importance to the world), and then look at the topic again. Only then would you realise why the darker regions of the world are in their sorry state. |
Why the sneaky attempt to make it seem like he reappointed Jonathan's appointee? Is it not because the idiot called Segun Awolowo is Yemi Osibanjo's brother in law? Parapo nepotistic government. |
Insha Allah, Buhari's ungodly ambition would end in tragedy for him and his beneficiaries, not for innocent Nigerians. This eye opening revelation by Junaid Mohammed is making me cry hot tears for my country. How did we get here? And why are there still heartless people supporting this evil monster called Buhari? |
Seems too cheap for its looks and specs. I thought the same about the E-Vogue when I first saw its pictures, until I saw it in real life and understood why (too smallish body). |
The Asiwaju/Jagaban political phenomenon would end in ignominy. Mark my words. There would be no happy ending for him. The implosion that would end his political empire would be abrupt and shameful. He is the proverbial megalomaniac who gained it all only to lose it all, and die with nothing. |
Even ashawo get boyfriend. Men don suffer. |
The whole concept of "good girl" is a stratagem for deception and deceit. There's no such thing. |
That's more like it. |
cococandy:You this Mgbeke pseudo feminist with spirit husband. Carry your foolishness to the family or romance section. There are enough threads there for you to dance shaku shaku on. |
So ragtag miscreants like Boko Haram have Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs)? Procured by what means? Probably collected from fleeing soldiers abi? And you would tell me that this useless country is not worse than a zoo? |
These retards don give yahoo bad name. The real fraudsters who know what they're doing know that making millions of dollars has nothing to do with these mumu 'ritual'/killing levels. It's all about the right Information , method, and execution. But too many of these misguided wannabes (mostly Yoruba/Edo) with armed robber mentality have flooded the scene, and they are applying armed robber methods to yahoo. By force and jazz (rather than by brain and method). That's a bad signal. |
I disagree with Rewane's analogy. Buhari scored an own goal hat trick, pulled one back, and ran away celebrating the fact that he managed to pull one back - not caring if the game eventually ends 1-3. |
Mumu women. Later, when they see a responsible guy, they would form decency and hard to get for him. But cheap scammers dey sample their kini anyhow come obtain their belongings on top. Funny how some women repeatedly play a fast one on themselves. |
Landlord123:Not even spaghetti. What we had then was SUPERGETTI. Show me a child who knew the correct pronunciation and spelling at that time and I'll show you a big liar. |
ify4king:Hohoho. My belle dey pain me o. I can relate very very well. It's incredible how time demystifies everything. |
LaudableXX:If you get an oil block, even if you don't do anything else but merely decide to invite oil majors to partake in it, you should get at least $15m to $30m in so-called 'farming fees, regardless of whether they later find oil or not. If you want to flip it altogether, you would get at least between $30m - $100m depending on its perceived prospects. If they find oil, you would still receive annual royalties (in millions of dollars). Isn't that enough to make you very rich? Because the likes of Alakija, Adenuga, and Lulu-Briggs decided that they wanted more than farming fees and royalties, and went the extra mile to invite technical partners to do all the work for them, while they sit back and share in the proceeds, that doesn't mean that they're smart or hardworking. The whole oil block award and operation process in Nigeria is riddled with extreme corruption, and anybody that made their wealth through this can never be a genuine entrepreneurship role model. |
They always wax philosophical to save face, when caught in their worthlessness with a rich or socially valuable man. If it's a struggling or regular dude, this same girl would have been defiant that "God forbids I can never be a baby mama for any man... I can never tolerate a cheating husband, I can never this and I can never that". Only for broke ass guys. When it's a deep pocketed guy who knows the power of his money and status, their loud mouths instantly lose volume and they all become worthless bitches who fall in line. Shameless and unprincipled double standards. It's laughable, really. If you're a well to do guy who takes these deceitful hypocrites seriously and places them on a pedestal, the joke is on you. Use your money and status wisely. Don't cast your pearls before swines. |
chloride6:Yeah. Tell me more about the law. Bunch of stupid hypocrites. |
chloride6:Since when did Nigerian guys go about asking for a girl's birth certificate before sleeping with her? If she was supposedly 17, she probably looked 20, so what gives? What's the physical difference between 17 and 18 (the so-called legal age of consent)? So how was CDQ supposed to know? That's not an issue really. |
minasota:So that you would do what for him? Are you a receiver or a provider? |
Indeed. Since the first 'Swift" connected, he has never looked back. |
InfiniteLoopx:Half? As in HALF of what she makes? Are you alright? Even many established tech wizkids in Silicon Valley (even most senior Google executives) don't make half of what Alakija makes. You'd be a super successful tech monster here in Nigeria if you're making even 1/10 of what she makes. |
COMPAQ:Take them to school. I was about to address these same issues before I saw your post. Capex my arse. |
Mouthgag:The chances that you'll be alive in 15 years are quite low. So you should live and enjoy the moment to the fullest extent that your resources permit (like Mayweather is doing). We only have one very short lifetime on Earth. |
Many people got oil blocks but have never been able to produce a drop of crude, from such blocs. You think say exploration and production activities in the upstream sector, na beans?
