NigelCundy:Heard he does wire on the side. |
So the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) is now involved in a petty matter of wristwatch theft? When armed robberies and kidnappings have not stopped occurring in Lagos? How did we get to this pathetic level as a country? |
Rosskii:That is such a myopic assertion. The business of government is not run on petty sentiments. You don't jeopardise national security because of microscopic sentimental considerations. You don't pay millions of euros ransoms to terrorists and expect them to use it to drink champagne and womanise. These monies would be used to procure even more sophisticated weapons and tools of destruction, recruit even more fighters, and expand their capacity to unleash terror on a greater number of Nigerians. Who would be worse off for it? Me and you. |
Rosskii:Do you realise how risky it is for the generality of Nigerians security and wellbeing for the government to pay ransoms to terrorists? |
Useless idiots. How are you underequipped? You're fighting against a ragtag 'BLOODY CIVILIAN' group and yet you're complaining about being underequipped. Are you underequipped when you oppress unarmed civilians everyday in the streets? The Nigerian army is the worst in the world that's the plain truth. |
myself13:You're obviously bitter, and I don't blame you. But you need to receive sense and shut the Bleep up. Experience is NOT the only source of knowledge.... By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. - Confucius |
Davido is a lovely kid. Got love for the streets and the streets would definitely have his back when it matters the most Boys would have to do what they have to do to make the mulla (so far no be violence). Society is unforgiving of broke niggas, no question. Nobody cares, if you're broke, you're despised and relegated... What message does that pass across for goodness sake? So it is the height of hypocrisy to condemn a fella who got burnt whilst trying to do the needful. At least he tried. He had to try the only way he knew how. |
Martinez19:. You're running from pillar to post. The context of your earlier post is not rooted in "abject poverty". Did the OP mention anything about abject poverty? He simply mentioned feeling hurt that his girlfriend dumped him for a RICHER guy. E-Money is rich, but Dangote spent more than E-Money's net worth on his daughter's wedding. Get it? Context! So that's why your earlier post reeks of lack of deep thinking and shameful superficiality. Don't try to argue further, lest you look silly. Just think things over and get grounded. You're not as comfortable as you think. Poverty is just one misfortune away from you. Watch your back, and remember I told you this. Enough said. |
Nonsense. What makes you an authority in these matters? There are no hard and fast rules to these things. A man may not discuss future plans with you because he didn't see you in his future, but later realises that you're not bad after all, and bam, he concludes that you're the one... And so on and so forth. Never follow these 'listed' advice you see online. Life no be 1+1. |
Martinez19:This is a very myopic point of view, to put it nicely. This point of view is devoid of sense in every imaginable way. Think about it. Approximately 80% percent of the world's population lives in relative poverty. Yes. 80% percent of people in the world are relatively poor. At least half of the world's population living on less than $2 a day, while a whopping 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. (see http://www.globalissues.org/article/26/poverty-facts-and-stats). What this means is that if everyone were to wait until they are relatively comfortable, let alone rich, before they enter into relationships and procreate, then humanity would face an existential threat. Mankind might go extinct sooner has later, following your warped idea. That's even only one angle. What about the impermanence of life's stations? Because you're lucky to have one stupid job, you think you're qualified to enter into a relationship or get married. And then you get married and rear children, and tomorrow you're sacked (like we hear everyday), then what happens? What about those who were dirt poor but yet got married anyway and produced children who go on to change the course of history and achieve immeasurable heights? Do you know how many great men and women - from Benjamin Franklin to Oprah Winfrey to Larry Ellison, to Ralph Lauren to Roman Abramovich to George Soros Cosmas Maduka (Coscharis), and millions of greater examples throughout the course of history (Google any of these names you don't know about), who would never have been born if their poor parents waited to be comfortable before entering into relationships? You people need to get grounded. Seriously. Find friends who are deep and who think well, and relate with them. Don't live in your little mental clouds and think you have life all figured out. When shit hits the fan you wouldn't know what hit you. |
stephleena:.. This is sense. Loads of it. |
The only thing I agree with here is that sense of entitlement sucks. In that sense, it is OK not to assist. No one should feel entitled to someone else's money, especially when it is not your parent's money. A little persuasive nudging could work but not a smug sense of entitlement. |
This is beyond heartbreaking. Life can be so depressing with these kinds of occurrences. |
slimdamatrix1:Very admirable trait. Money isn't to be enjoyed alone. If fortune decides to be kind to you, then you have to look after your less fortunate family members. It is a duty of care. A duty of love. |
Linda is the real deal. Her income has reduced significantly, but it is still significant... A certified Naira billionaire. She's a game changer, and a paradigm shift onto herself. |
HajimeSaito:Very daft comment by a pussywhipped wimp. So if women don't have good jobs it is okay for them to depend on men for handouts? So what about the millions of qualified men who do have jobs (because less competent women have used 'bottom power' to unfairly corner such jobs)? Who do such men depend on for handouts? |
Don't be a kid. It would be more painful, if you're a short man for instance, to see your girl dating a tall man. Because there's nothing you can do to measure up; it's a fact of nature that you cannot change and therefore you must live with. But money is not intrinsic to anybody. It is external. The status of having money or lacking money is subject to change, and it changes for many people on a daily basis. You can make yours tomorrow and the guy can lose his tomorrow. Don't break your head over trifling things or inconsequential females. Go out there and hustle, and pray to get lucky. If you're eventually successful, that would be the best revenge. |
This is a very big deal. To attract the presence of one of the greatest and most iconic figures in history to your child's wedding. |
oga70563:So as you're not rich (obviously), is it not inevitable that you would move with your fellow poor people? Or what exactly is your point? If you're not rich, but you want to move with rich people, is that not unfair to those rich people? Your logic is totally flawed. |
Living in Abuja feels like a vacation. It's like you're on vacation all year long. Don't even compare Abuja with Lagos. I know both very well. |
Very true. In spite of the mistrust and suspicion between Igbo and Yoruba , I think if you cut out the core Muslim North, the rest of the country (South East, South West, South South and what we know as the Middle Belt) can live very peacefully together and build a very prosperous and strong country. These parts of the country, in spite of their ethnic differences, essentially have similar ways of life and outlook. They are socio-culturally compatible. The evidence is there in for instance, the music industry and Nollywood. How many Hausa/Fulani musicians do you know in Nigeria's mainstream music industry today? How many Hausa/Fulani actors do you know in Nigeria's modern Nollywood? The North is the biggest obstacle to Nigeria's progress because they simply aren't compatible with the rest of the country. The Islamic fanaticism and educational backwardness of the North makes them better suited to team up with their brothers in Niger Republic, Chad, etc. |
Life is too short to be unnecessarily frugal. I'm more interested in excessive earning than excessive saving. |
Wole4real:You wouldn't believe how wretched this bearded goat of a minister called Bayo Shittu was before he was nominated as minister. He couldn't even pay the rent on his yeye law Chambers in Ibadan. Could barely feed his large family. I'm dead certain he couldn't boast of a N1m bank balance. His car was a jalopy. His few agbadas and natives were old and worn out. All of a sudden he is a billionaire. Welcome to the era of change promised by Buhari. |
Hot body no dey pay. People need to learn how to be on perpetual chill pill. |
This is undiluted and unconditional love. |
His brother (Rudeboy) is still leading 3-1, with far greater ball possession and attempts on goal. Mr P looks like someone that lacks stamina. His gra gra would soon wear out. He can't go all the way. |
BushWickBill:Does this include Reekardo Banks and Tiwa Savage? |
Angelb4:So the substance of the matter does not concern you? You don't care about the blatant corruption exposed in this report. As a bastard zombie, all you care is about Buhari till 2023? Too bad I can't lay hands on you physically right now. |
sunnysunny69:Tiwa Savage be grade wetin celebrity? When you watch colour television last? |
Dem for kuku crown am the King or Emperor of Russia. It's looking like absolute monarchy. Stronger than the Tsars ever were. |
These are the real feminists (Chimamanda is the only real/tolerable 'feminist' in Nigeria that I know of), not the pretentious idiots like those on Nairaland (including that cococandy or whatever the despicable thing calls herself) who depend(ed) on men to get to this or that level or to fund this or that lifestyle, and yet they run their wide mouths for nothing. |
why don't people understand my point of view before mentioning me. Why I said have money, I didn't necessarily mean like E-money, Otedola, Dangote etc. I simply meant have enough money to take care of oneself, one's wife and children. I am against those in abject poverty getting married because it's immoral to give birth to a soul in a suffering environment. One should marry if and only if one is established to take care of himself, wife and children.
