In my opinion, Buhari should stop paying subsidy, and allow marketers set prices. But Buhari is a good poltician, and not necessarily a good leader.


A good leader would have removed subsides completely, which means increased investment.

But because people like you don't want to pay N200 and above for fuel, subsidy keeps on being paid.

I don't like APC. And their decison not to deregulate is one of many reasons why I did not back them in 2015 and this year. And neither is the PDP too commited to deregulation.

That is, when next the Naira is devalued, Nigeria’s subsidy bill can be expected to jump.” It stated further: “The continuation of petrol price regulation perpetuates safety nests for exceptional forms of corruption within the country’s subsidy regime. Import subsidy creates petrol price arbitrage – the differential between the regulated price in Nigeria and the high petrol prices in neighbouring countries – which is big enough to incentivise smuggling of subsidized products to neighbouring border towns.” On the implication of the adverse development, the report stated: “BudgIT notes with dismay that fuel subsidy deprive Nigeria of funds needed for critical socio-economic development as it discourages investors, who generally prefer a deregulated industry, from investing in the downstream sector especially in the area of refinery construction and operation.

For instance, the 10 trillion consumed by the subsidy regime is sufficient to construct 27,000MW of electricity or build about 2,400 units of 1000-bed standard hospitals across 774 local government areas of Nigeria, found our research. “We equally note that the Nigerian masses worship low oil prices. More so, the political class fears that increases in petrol price (and in the cost of living by extension), occasioned by a deregulated price regime, and could become a flashpoint for mass uprisings and political instability. Here are the points:

1. This country must learn how to publicly punish evil doers be it SARS, Senators, Legislators, Governors, Ministers, Police, Military, etc. This will serve as a deterrence for others who wanna follow in their footsteps.

2. Shooting sporadically is a sure sign of poor training. Police do it. SARS do it. This is not done anywhere else in the world as far as I can tell. Only in Nigeria will a security agent enter a crowded place and start shooting carelessly. This training issue must be systematically addressed. If you hand over a killing machine to someone who is not trained then what do you expect? Especially if that some1 has a very low IQ to start with?

3. Nigerians have to start questioning their politicians about these issues. Ask them what they intend to do about SARS and police brutality. Let them give you a clear answer before you consider voting for them.

Feminism was a great course in the 60s,70s till the early 80s... back then many Statutory Laws reduces women fundamental rights hence their need to protest the inequalities ... and their protest lead to drastic improvement in gender base legislation.

However the New 90s and 20s feminism is sheer stupidity with the exception of Saudi Arabian Feminist. .

Take an example of Oby ezekwesili, who was one of the leading vocal champion of women inclusion in politics, subsequently all political party made nomination form price subsidised and greatly reduced for women. A political party even made her a presidential flagbearer with men donating left and right to her campaign, only for her to decide not to contest few days to election.



It breaks my heart that the feminism of Billie Jean the great tennis legend and Margaret Thatcher the iron lady politician is been rubished by lousy folks like chimamanda who after seeing all the sufferings of an African woman most especially Nigerian, her own concern and contribution to humanity is why a man's name should or shouldn't be added to that of the wife or why a man shouldn't open the door for his beloved wife or why Hillary Clinton shouldn't proudly refer to herself as a wife and mother as oppose politician and former congresswoman

Ortom knows how to rig election and those areas he won have said it all: for instance, Guma is ortom village where he gave no vote to apc, gwer west is his wife's place.
